Amazes me how people think/assume this is a 100% foolproof money making scheme. Send money. Get bitcoin miner. Collect profits. LOL. The risks were always there and always will be there. If you're too weak, seriously consider something else less risky. So okay your miners are late. That's the risk part of the game. But hey I'm sure it will arrive soon anyway. All the rant posts doesn't do anything to help speed up the process. But you know this is bitcoins so there's always people with different agendas here. Say if I were a greedy hashfast or cointerra customer, I'd be in this thread making up a fuss about everything and anything. Less people buying/getting refunds = more profits. Am I right or am I right? You mean like how all the KNC guys came into my endorsement thread?

If there are no catastrophic events, the "Internet kill switch" will be a moot issue within three years. There may still be the potential for continental separation, but methods exist for communication even at transoceanic distances without relying on cables or satellites. With geographically diversified mining resources, Bitcoin will be effectively unbreakable at that point.
That is when Bitcoin will start truly eroding gold's position as a monetary asset, after fiat currencies have been proven bettered by crypto.
what ever happened to your Meshnet project?

Win 7 and 0.89.99.5 and RAM reduction has worked wonders for me. Thank you!

not only that, their design team is spread all over the world with the main office in India.
coordination is difficult.

Remember the cool thing about the modules is that they daisy chain together.
Not saying this is or isn't true but, you are the only person that has claimed this will be possible. There haven't been any postings from HF accounts in this thread at least claiming they will work this way. you don't have to believe me but...

Well, there is an inconsistency in what they've written as there is 2 versus 3 modules in a BJ versus a Sierra.
Amy has assured me that the Sierra can be run by a Raspi. If not, use an old laptop.
Frankly I don't really care that much, those rPi are so cheap and small that I don't mind adding one for each module It's just the cable mess that increases with all those power supplies... just talked to Simon. don't go out and buy a bunch of Raspis. you may need far less than even i anticipated.

Chinese secret rocket i thought you said you wish you'd sold? I don't know anymore. If only I had your subscription to tell me what to do! Don't think for a minute you got away with that sly dog PM you sent me. Oh wait, you did. Well done, sir!

So this will be interesting.
Because I'm already repackaging my BJ's as sierras because of space considerations, you will be able to use me as an experiment to work these issues out such as what a Raspi may or may not be able to handle. Sounds like 3 modules right now or one per Sierra. I'll run that by engineering.
|
|
|
Sure, it maxes out space, cooling and power supply in the (beefed up) BabyJet, but it will also push the rPi to it's limits so that is why HF in PM recommends: We don't want to risk overloading the limited resources of a Raspberry Pi by running more than two mini-boards (formerly 'modules') off one of them.
So we recommend something more powerful for one or more Sierras.

I have a Batch 1 baby jet and I bought the expansion board. Will I be able to use the MPP board with them?
If not, why was this not though of before - you knew mpp + expansion would be needed on the baby jet?
Yes the MPP board can be used with them. You bought the expansion board to get the extra hashing power now instead of in 3 months.

Remember they don't have working chips yet.
I know and have seen pictures of the other parts but it's simply OEM stuff like you can get off Amazon except for the PCB of course.

What I think Paladin69 is trying to say is that HF has clearly showed us that is really outstanding from other asic manufactures by having nice contracts with the best factorys out there, the MPP , having the software prepared in andvance...but we are really close to what they marked as "time to ship" the units and we still havent seen any photo. Not the case, not the pcbs, not even any other part as the cooling solution that they have been simulating with. For the moment as a customer I want to believe
I saw what you wrote earlier so I screamed at them earlier today. They promised me they will have pictures for you soon.

The BabyJet has room for only 2 modules in total (as that maxes out the Raspberry Pi), you need to upgrade the old power supply as well (which is included in the expansion upgrade you bought). If the full MPP kicks in, you would get 4 extra modules so you will need to look for an extra case, power supply and a cgminer running CPU (rPi, PC, laptop) with a USB connector for each module
Besides, the MPP modules will only ship out in 2014, you'll get your bought expansion board in December
This isn't right. It doesn't max out Raspi, it maxes out space. Remember the cool thing about the modules is that they daisy chain together. This is why in the Sierra you can string 3 modules together with 1USB feed to an external controller of your choice.

stone-age answer
that's a good one. just about sums it up. or down in this case.

actually, it was China that led the breakout out of the Spring 2012 $5 funk. geez, it seems so long ago...

only 4 days in BTC history where the price closed higher than now.
Gold down. Bitcoin UP.

ok, let me be a bit more clear: no, it's 8888

Isn't 888 a lucky number in China? no, it's 8888.
