8101  Economy / Gambling / Re: #4 Bitcointalk Poker Series @ SwC Poker (0.06 BTC, BIG BTC Ticket by SwC) on: October 16, 2020, 12:26:54 PM
Series #4 Finals are live

Hey guys,

I just got word from SwC and please take a look at the image below - the Grand Finale is live, I only need to send them names for registration - maybe that helps for some added motivation on Sunday? Wink

Another good news: There will also be a Runners-Up Finale for all the losers like me! (Or simply the guys having been less lucky?!) Cheesy

Arg I wont be able to cover the final as Im not in it? how will I access the rooms?

I suppose I would have to miss the runners up game if we can manage to make it work (do I need the password?). No problem.

You can spectate the final without password, you just click on tournament and then on tables and you will be able to see action and even chat.

But I want you to play runners up game and comment on it as well. It will not be the same without you  Wink

I did not manage to make SwC work in two separate browsers at the same time. That would be very useful to me so if somebody knows a hack...

I don't know if I will be betting on this Atletico match but if I do only options are under and draw. Everything else is just loosing money when Atletico is in the picture.

I am 100% sure I will not watch the match. No more losing my time on them, at least until they play Real, Barca or somebody watchable in Champions League.
8103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UEFA Nations League 2020/2021 Discussion Thread on: October 16, 2020, 09:34:02 AM
Croatia is a rather small country and your players are mostly croatians while France is one of the biggest country of Europe and selects players with foreign roots.

We select players with foreign roots as well. Good exmples are Rakitic who has been raised in Switzerland or Eduardo who is Brazilian and got Croatian nationality since he lived here long time. Then we always have a couple of Bosnian guys in the team but that almost counts as our own  Grin
8104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: October 16, 2020, 08:12:09 AM
Most of the games in previous weeks had clear favourites in my mind and I made picks easy. That did not work so well as my points and rank show. Now this week all the games look suspicious to me and I have no clue what results to pick. That means that I will do extremely well and win yellow cap. Right?

Just trying to do a little self pep talk on rainy day here in Croatia. Good thing it is friday.
8105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 15, 2020, 07:54:31 PM
Astralis to win against Heretic, ....

You mean Heroic? Well they have been playing well if we leave out the previous 3-4 matches. They were the winners of ESL One Cologne 2020 EU , and also came 3rd in the ESL Pro League 12 EU. So can surprise out some good teams but Astralis seems like a tough target.

Right now, they have pushed into OT in Heroic's pick Vertigo. Good comeback from Astralis to cover up 4 round deficit and push to OT.
Of course I mean Heroic, got a case of stupid it seems Smiley

23:23 at the moment, very good map one. I have a feeling Astralis will get this first map.
8106  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Interviews] with Bitcointalk members on: October 15, 2020, 07:07:08 PM
I was asked by Zasad to provide an interview so here it goes.

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?

I became interested in cryptocurrencies in July 2017. I know almost the exact day because I started my journey through crypto world by accumulating about 3k EUR and buying my mining rig. It had 4x Nvidia cards and I learned so much about the crypto space while setting it up and choosing shit coins to mine. In the end I settled on dual mining ETH and stopped tinkering with it all the time. That left me enough free time to learn some trading basics and try my luck on exchanges.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
My first satoshis weren't bought, I traded for them or later on earned some on this forum by selling services (translation, coding). I actually bought BTC for fiat first time when we were in bear market in 2018 and BTC has just fallen to 6K. I was sure it would not go any lower. We all know how that went but I didn't panic sell I bought more around 3.5K. Too bad I had very little spare cash at the time so we are talking small amounts.
Why I bought? Very simple, I believe in BTC long term.

3. How did you get on the forum?
I needed to read quite a lot of stuff while setting my mining rig and this place was the place to find most of the answers and software.

4.1 What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
There is whole bunch of usual answers like government policies, market manipulation or whatever. I am actually thinking that biggest obstacle to mass adoption is user experience. I am doing stuff on computers my whole life and that includes web design and coding in several programing languages and I have to read tutorials and loose hours whenever I want to do something a bit more advanced in crypto sphere.  We need to buckle up, stop complaining and start building user friendly interfaces and installation programs. I am actually hoping to transition my work full time to crypto space and do something about that but I still haven't found that one perfect serious project to help me on the way.

4.2 How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?
I don't think it influences the whole bitcointalk community that much, either positive or negative. Yes those campaigns lead to more spamming but there will be spam as long as there are campaigns and they integral part of this forum and it would not be the same without them. Gambling discussion section is like a second home to me and I love conversations I am having there with some users. Other users which just spam and don't say anything constructive I report and put on ignore list. Works for me.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
I can't judge if it is enough for everybody but it was more than enough for me, but I am very realistic person and not prone to FOMO & FUD. I needed about a year to stand on my trading legs and I am happy to report that the journey has been mostly successful with few bumps along the way.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
Both have their positive and negative effects which has been discussed in detail all over the Meta section and I don't feel like adding much to that. Yes there is misuse but in general they are important and good part of bitcointalk experience and I got used to them. Merit got introduced while I was Full member and it considerably slowed my climb trough the ranks but at the same time new rank feels like a much bigger achievement so all good.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
Really tough to point out. There is a lot of useful topics and very helpful users. I will not even try to list them since I would be doing a disservice to the ones I forget to mention and this interview would end up using second post as well.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
Nothing really, I would try to change users to be a little more tolerable of others opinions or reduce the spam in some sections but I don't see a way to enforce stuff like that and keep the spirit of the forum.
Actually I would post official rules of the forum and then made moderators enforce them equally across all sections and seniority.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
I trade on exchanges and usually invest in projects after they are already established. I had some small/short/riskier investments during ICO fever but mainly I invested in well established projects which I consider will have a bright future with intent to keep them at least few years.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?

Most of my trading is quite boring but since you want a story...
My first airdrop (ETHD) which brought me real money will be something I'll never forget. The project was a total shitcoin without anything positive going for it but I sold my airdrops for about 500$. Money from nothing is a real crypto story Smiley
To balance that out I was a victim of scam once as well. I am usually quite careful and those quick money offers that sound too good to be true I am avoiding even subconsciously but I have fallen for scam website of one ICO project. Not quite sure which one was it but it was an ICO on NEO network, it was a great project and it did quite well but I invested my 500$ on wrong site. It was a combination of running out of time and wife nagging about me having to do something. I consider that as tuition for life school.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
I still have to do a lot of research in that direction. I don't know nearly enough to make competent decisions regarding DeFi. I am sure DeFi has future and I am also sure that most of the projects coming out now are total shit. So I am waiting for real projects to rise to the top or to find enough time to do proper research and FA which would make me comfortable to throw some money DeFI way.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?

It is definitely a precaution. There is quite a few guys from Croatian local that know me personally and several more high rank users which know my real name. I am always for hanging out with fellow bitcoin enthusiasts and that is hard to do anonymously. If you are a known member and visiting Croatia for holidays contact me on PM and let's go get some drinks.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?

I never read a single cryptocurrency book. Most of my technical knowledge came through tutorials, this forum or YouTube videos. YouTube has actually been my biggest source of info and I used to watch TA videos while walking my dog several times a day.

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?
My choices are all well known and quite boring but I am in for a long run and I don't need to do 10x next week.
1.   Bitcoin
2.   Etherium
3.   BNB, LINK, DOT

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?

Let's go with 15K USD but as I already said I am in this for the long run and I don't really care what the price will be at the end of 2020. I am more interested what it will be in 10 or 20 years and I have a high expectations for cryptocurrencies and blockchains in the future.

15. P.S. (Optional)
I was really surprised you contacted me for this interview, I just hope somebody found it interesting since it did take a nice chunk of my very precious free time Smiley

This weak is crazy busy for me and I just managed to squeeze in few minutes and play a ticket. I missed on most stuff today so just added a simple double to watch something in the evening.
ENCE - North over 2.5 maps, when I checked their map pool it looks like both teams should have one easy map to win and then decider should be a tricky one
Astralis to win against Heretic, Heroic is in quite bad patch of results and I don't expect them to turn the tables against Astralis. At least we are sure that Danish team will win Smiley

Let me give it a try once, just made an account and founded it.

My prediction is that there will be 59 goals scored this Sunday. Good luck to all

Edit: added another betslip since I can't read rules apparently Smiley Hopefully it is all fine now
8110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UEFA Nations League 2020/2021 Discussion Thread on: October 14, 2020, 08:52:03 PM
Lot of games in Nations League tonight. Time to recover some losses from yesterday. I have placed a small stake treble to start the day and then I will wait for line ups before placing high stakes single bets.
Croatia - France both to score @1.9, last 2 games ended with 6 goals and Croatia looks like team that can always score and concede a goal.
Slovakia - Israel both to score @1.9, as always forcing both to score market when my man Zahavi is playing
Greece - Kosovo over 1.5 goals, this is a new Greek squad which plays attacking football and I expect this tip pass easy. Odds are solid @1.5

Your Greece vs Kosovo pick should go through but personally I am on GR (-1 AHC) - Greece didn't perform great recently but has the quality to beat such Kosovo team relatively easy.

For Croatia vs France, BTS looks great, too, and I took that one as well.

Not touching Slovakia vs Israel.
Screw your Greece guys they costed me lot of money today Smiley I had another ticket with Greece ML as well. I can see from stats that they were good in the first half and even managed to miss penalty but second half was total boredom without a single shot on target.

I will have to write a thank you letter to Zahavi, he is the only one keeping me in the green or close to zero in these national league games. He delivers every single time, today he sent Slovakia packing with 3 goals in second half.
8111  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Nano Ledger S iskustva on: October 14, 2020, 05:29:57 PM

8112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UEFA Nations League 2020/2021 Discussion Thread on: October 14, 2020, 02:02:35 PM
the both to score on Croatia - France is a great price opportunity, I'm going today with a BetBuilder: Andrej Kramaric as a anytime scorer and over 1.5 goals in total, a priced boosted pick @3.67!  Cool

And we could even win this one, but yes, let's see how it will end  Roll Eyes
You sure about Kramaric part of the bet? From what I have been reading it is more likely that he will not play. He has injury problems and I had a feeling he will miss out on this match. Our front 3 should be Bradaric - Petkovic - Perisic. We are also missing Rebic, Brozovic and Vrsaljko for this game.
8113  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: BitcoinTalk's 2020 Champions League Pool Sign Up Thread Ł25 in bitcoin to join on: October 14, 2020, 01:58:53 PM
Count me in. As always buy in size doesn't matter much to me, but 25 pounds sounds like a sweet spot to keep it friendly and with max attendance.

Hopefully, we will manage to secure some sponsor for our pool, it makes things that much juicier and will probably bring us at least few more players.

8114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: October 14, 2020, 01:56:06 PM
Sorry about the delay. Sign up thread has just gone live: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5282018.msg55378160#msg55378160

It will be around Ł25 to join but as examplens said above I won't collect the money in until a month or so from now so we can maximise getting users signed up.

I see a potential problem with that plan. You can delay collecting the money but you can't delay making picks in Superbru. You get about 15 "default picks" and that is it. What is the incentive for somebody to join let's say 3 weeks after CL started and begin our pool with big points handicap?

If somebody is on the line and thinking about joining our pool my advice is to join free CL pool and make picks. That way if join our pool at later date you will have all the points.

Problem is that I don't expect a lot of people who will find about our pool late after CL already started will have the picks already made in Superbru.

Great game between Germany and Switzerland, it is 3:3 at the moment and Germans look like they have it under control and then the Swiss surprise them and get in the lead. Don't know what is happening with German defense, they concede goals every single game and quite often more than one. No matter, I cashed out nice on them, had both to score @1.9, total value if you ask me.

Still waiting for the Spain win on another double so hopefully they will start scoring some as well. From the stats it seems like Spain is much better but they are unable to score. Will try to find them on some stream to watch last 20 minutes.
8117  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: October 13, 2020, 06:51:13 PM
Per matchday:
1 - 50 mBTC
2 - 30 mBTC
3 - 10 mBTC

Total matchday:
1 - 250 mBTC
2 - 200 mBTC
3 - 100 mBTC

Grand prize for the entire leaderboard:
1 - 1.5 BTC
2 - 1.0 BTC
3 - 0.5 BTC

Sounds like a great promo, will give it a try for sure. I can already see this will be very popular.

Question: What is total matchday?
Per matchday means one complete round in CL. Which lasts one week or two depending on competition format this year.
Grand prize is rewarded after the CL is over. But I have no clue what is that Total matchday, have a feeling I missing something totally obvious Smiley

Edit:  Anytime goal scorer for Calvert-Lewin is 2.29..  Hmmm.  What do you guys think?
That sounds like a bargain and you even have bad odds, what site is that? I just placed that bet on stake @2.7. I also added both to score in first half @3.8 and Calvert-Lewin to score first goal @7.5. Sportsbet has same odds and even boost if you had not used it yet but my account has dried up today so couldn't place a bet there.

Now I know what I want to see, DCL goal in first 10 minutes and then Liverpool strikes back with at least one goal until half time and wins the game later on.

There'd be riots if we fired ours... but as far as I know we don't have a mascot... I know there was this Liver Bird but it was more like a kid's thing for special match days... don't recall seeing it when I visited Anfield but maybe a proper attending fan like LFC_Bitcoin can confirm that!

Dude, you’re a proper fan. You don’t have to go to games to be called a proper fan. If us losing ruins your weekend then you are a proper fan, that’s how I gauge it Grin

Our mascot is called Mighty Red -

I’m pretty sure it’s a full time job, not just match days. He goes into schools, hospitals etc in the week, events etc too.

Sorry guys, but your mighty red doesn't look so mighty to me, he is a real cutie, especially with those tiny legs and big smile on the face Smiley

Maybe this is the version that visits kids hospitals and then you unleash a proper mighty red when opposing supporters come to Anfield?
