8101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: March 13, 2021, 08:10:53 AM
Yeah, that was a blatant penalty but it's another one of those situations where if the player had gone down and stayed down it likely would have been given and that's why players get rewarded for diving because if you stay up it's never given. VAR should have given that on review though and I'm not sure why they didn't. The Southampton one didn't look like a penalty to me at all. It looks like he just threw himself to the ground and because there was apparently minimal contact of the City player having his hand on their shoulder a penalty is given. All this stuff does is encourage diving.

This is what I hate the most (well, at least among the things I hate the most) in football. That you seldom do right by these fouls to players that just get up and dust themselves off -- but those who fall and exaggerate everything get the decisions. How does this not reward simulation, yeah? Yet another decison-making nonsense, review, no review. The ongoing circus that is VAR.

@Joca97:  Nice on you to get  3 points,  I went for a slim Villa win (2-1) and bet on a Newcastle win.  Should have known better.
8102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ BitcoinPRBuzz.com's ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: March 12, 2021, 03:12:50 PM
I have to remember to come by this pool more often, but you know, ever since realising how shitty I am here, I don't really come back and bet any more, although, I was really tempted to add Lazio and Atalanta to my parlays for 1H 1x2 (1.8x each), and am angry as lazio is 2-1 ahead damn, and 2-2 now after the restart ha!

Just really hard to follow the Covid news for Serie A which has also affected my parlays (especially cause I stupidly used freebets on them).

GL with tonight;)
8103  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC/USD Price Analysis - $72,000 will be the first target on: March 12, 2021, 02:09:48 PM
Referencing OP I don't think the bears were quite done yet. Too soon to say the move to 61k's stalled (or rather, we might even say it's been successful). Even if we do break ATH I'm not sure we'll get the momentum we need to enter 60k territory yet.

Definitely does seem like Biden's stimulus package is getting some traction, but strange not bigger than you'd expect eh? He's signed it so it's a done deal, right?
8104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +54127 units on: March 12, 2021, 10:08:53 AM
Arsenal got us the goods but both parlays failed because our chosen underdogs only managed to draw level with the home team. Still a great away goal each to take a slim advantage to the next leg at home, but I doubt we'll get such good odds again, oh well!

Toons and Villains take on each other, both having only won once in the last five games. Superboost please, and a "guaranteed" Atalanta hom win?

100 units at Sportsbet on Newcastle and Atalanta to WIN @5.71. Other odds: 5.55

Nice win for Arsenal eh boys? I only didn't actually make anything from it because I tied it with a Rangers win, and then another with a Milan win -- both underdogs drew ha!

On issue of site: SB was very slow in accepting my bets yesterday, but only for a short period. All good and clean now. I find if it doesn't accept after a few seconds, just reopen the page and try again -- faster than waiting for it to accept.

I've been having a rare run of good luck in my 5-leg parlays actually, 3rd straight day of winning them all without insurance, but should mention that the 2nd one had a game called off;)

@dittoup Steve isn't just effective, effective is Steve =p

@CLS63: Well done! Where else can you find such generous freebets eh?

These are the easiest predictions we'll ever get on the forum, and crazy to get over $220 now, thanks jeremypwr and Sportsbet!

Game 1:  19’  2-1 to Southampton
Game 2:  62'  2-1 to Arsenal
8108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake.com announces Israel Adesanya as their Global branded ambassador on: March 11, 2021, 06:04:04 PM
Stake even offered thrice winnings if Adesanya wins early and I can't imagine how many guys must have lost because he lost the fight and because of the lucrative 3x offer I am sure almost everyone would have bet on Adesanya at stake. It feels bad to hire a guy and he loses his first fight just after you hired him but stake must have profited a lot from the gamblers as big bets must have been placed on Adesanya at stake as opposed to Jan Blachowicz.

That's how it goes, my friend. But 3x the offer is what I call good value either way, it's all about odds and extra money on the table to be made. And having your ambassador lose is ok, many fights and years left in the guy, no problem, we look ahead and to the future.

I'm definitely going to have to consider looking more into MMA now, maybe can fill up my time when football takes a vacation;)
8109  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is over $54,000, hold or sell? on: March 11, 2021, 03:14:25 PM
3. This is the one that's going to rock the boat! Because they ain't done buying yet, and new big investors ain't done coming!

What is unknown about all these big players is their attitude towards BTC over a period of time - that is, do they have a pre-determined exit point for profit or do they really believe that BTC can be their safe haven in the long run? There is one ascending line that has arisen because no one wants to miss the train that more and more reputable companies are jumping into - but what would happen if, say, PayPal or Tesla announced that they were leaving the business with BTC?

I believe it would be a sign for others to start withdrawing, because what we see is, despite the positive effect on the price, still very slippery ground - one negative decision of the US administration regarding cryptocurrencies can completely reverse the trend.

I personally have two exit conditions: one is time-bound, one is price bound. Whichever reaches first will trigger my exit. But this is always reassessed with personal situation and likely, when my age is something of concern.

I assume big players are even more strict with conditions and that's the same for any big fund. They have value targets and time-bound limits. All up for reassessment. So if they do leave BTC, it won't be any time soon. But fair concern indeed.
8110  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Official betting partner of ARSENAL FC 🚀 on: March 11, 2021, 01:57:52 PM
we've been asking for a way to sharebetslips from the Active bets for a while now, but it doesn't seem to be that high on their priority list  Sad   in fact, i think the suggestion keeps getting buried by all the new features they want to add :-P

Nah, they're working on shit a lot for sure. Betslips took a while and it's here now. I'm sure they'll find a more permanent way for them -- probably fixing the odds/outcomes on the slips first (for example, your boost won't show).

Oh, and sorry about your corner bets. 2 corners the entire game for PSG =p

And shout out to Steve for fixing my promos page, I now can see them =)

@Betwrong: I've been playing with super low odds and having quite "reasonable" hits on 3, 4 or 5/1 even on huge favourites in 10-leg parlays. Then yesterday, I thought, hey why not add the SuperBoosted Chelsea-Atletico women's?

8111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +53348 units on: March 11, 2021, 11:09:25 AM
Heh, Saints totally overpowered in the end. No Ings, no magic?

Anyway, Rangers are looking so irresistible now, and would love playing the underdog. With everything won already in Scotland, they'll give it their all in Europa!

8112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: March 11, 2021, 10:30:45 AM
^^ Yeah, I know it's silly to say but was wondering myself if not playing at Anfield was actually a good thing for us because they did seem to play more calmly. Then again, it's a huge difference playing with Fabinho in midfield, so clearly more stable at the back. Nice to see Mane and Salah together again of course, and scoring again minutes apart.

4 more games to Istanbul, we can do it!

BTW guys, there's a free competition that starts next week: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5321499.40

I've entered. You don't need to do anything except declare a bankroll and post bets you normally make anyway. So that's what I'm doing, sharing betslips I made there, and if I win, I win!
8113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: March 11, 2021, 08:48:33 AM
Nice win, igor, that's what I call last entry luck, to hit it all on the head precisely!
No, no man, you got it wrong. Last entry win is not a result of luck it is a result of waiting for the last moment to be informed as much as possible to make that informed selection. If it was a sport I know something about I would never have made my picks before last games were even played. There was that injury and then sub for all star game. Of course I had no idea about any of that and still got 2nd / 3rd place, that is luck  Grin

LOL Trofo yeah, yeah I know.  But as leea pointed out above, sometimes you just get lucky;) I know for sure I've won big out of pure luck and choosing outcomes or numbers on nostalgia (won my big trip with sportsbet for choosing my fav player's jersey number, for example). My problem when playing very close to the games is overthinking, especially on parlays. Single games okay, same as event based picks (first scorer, corners etc). But you're a lucky bastard that's for sure =p

@rdbase: I'm up for some kind of long-term MM for all the Europe leagues. We could do it like, who finishes higher (points) and do a 1 x 2, like say:

West Brom vs Fulham
Inter vs AC
etc etc.

There's still about 10 games left in all the leagues;) could be fun!

Or a fantasy league MM. Player vs PLayer and see who earns the most fantasy points (can just use ESPN or some other site I don't know who offers fantasy). Can still be 1x2;)
e.g.
Salah vs Lukaku
Alisson vs Henderson

Then we could do it every week;)
8114  Economy / Gambling / Re: "The Maharaja of Bitcointalk" Sports Bettors/Tipster Competition 🏆Free entry🏆 on: March 11, 2021, 07:43:09 AM
Thanks for the responses, vennali. I've pinged a couple of people now to see if they might like to join, and it's not like it takes additional betting too, so why not, right? I'd love to be the Maharaja, it would be really cool to also award additional points or something for actualy commentary and rationale behind the betting though;)

I've registered btw, declared a bankroll of 20 mbtc;) I don't expect to win as my style is highly detrimental to short term gains (I go for long odds and parlays, so have even a win rate of < 30 % but rely on big value bets to carry me) but still, who knows?
8115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: March 10, 2021, 09:19:06 PM
Some sadness for this thread, haha.

Anyway, looks like my 41/1 bet on Barca died in HT (actually already won my cards and corners overs, Messi scoring, and only needed Barca to score 3 more goals lol) but needed them to also win both halves, which Messi unfortunately did not do when his penalty was saved. 1 wonder goal, and 1 missed penalty. Damn.

Meanwhile, Liverpool do look in control but I'd feel a lot better if we could just score 1 goal. 30 mins to play.

Come on Harko! 3 more goals from Barca, right? Haha.
8116  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don’t Panic III on: March 10, 2021, 04:53:55 PM
*I dream every night that I can buy Bitcoin at the price of $ 10k/coin again 'lol'...
right now the Bitcoin price will be very difficult to get below $ 30k. which panic at this time is the small traders and miners who sell their mines. I still hodl a few satoshis for long term investment.

I know it's almost challenging destiny or however you want to call it haha but yeah, in 2020 I was just praying for so long that sub 10k levels would stay as long as possible. Even when we crashed to 3k I was fine, I mean psychologically I'd been mentioning long ago my mind priced BTC at $4k, for some reason. And it was only in 2020 mid onwards that I was ready to up that mental barrier to 10k so that's my new "worst-case scenario price" right now.
8117  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is over $54,000, hold or sell? on: March 10, 2021, 02:15:43 PM
Bitcoin that is definitely not for sale at the moment I would classify into three categories :

  • What has been lost so far, and given that people are still prone to mistakes even today - in the first 5 years we are probably talking about millions that are no longer available.
  • What long-term hodlers hold and do not want to sell at any price, because BTC is something they value more than anything else.
  • What big investors have bought in the last 8-10 months and what is locked in some custodial cold wallets.

Sigh, you're right.

1. On what's lost, that's always been known (depending on estimates, but it's not changed much since 2015/16). As you said, the bulk of those "lost" coins happened in the first few years.
2. Also not a figure that's really changed. I believe long-term holders don't tend to add a lot, if I consider myself one, then I've only managed to grow at the same pace dollar wise, which BTC-wise means a slower and slower accumulation (just saving $10 a year ago and doing the same now is already a drop from 300,000 then to 20,000 sats today, sob).
3. This is the one that's going to rock the boat! Because they ain't done buying yet, and new big investors ain't done coming!

Here's my bet on that said market maybe you could try and add it on to your betslip.

The odds is slowly going down, currently at 13.00 and might go down even more as we near kickoff.  Cheesy

https://sportsbet.io/sharebetslip/f6e86f18-d7fe-4efe-835a-8f11a755070d

THANK you! I ended up going for a Betbuilder, it finally materialized, but I thought if Barca qualify then they have to win at least 4-1 (to get through) so I thought ok let's play a more likely betbuilder and get them to win 3+ goals plus other things haha. Ended up with a 41/1 bet.

Then, I waltz through anyway and place bets on Lazio and Gladbach to qualify. Why am I being so stupid? Because I love a good upset;)

Really wish we could retrieve shareslips, btw! Hate that once you leave the screen it disappears (did anyone also notice clicking share gives you different options now?)

^^Didn't get that promo either, and haven't got a promo since Nov 2020 so my region must be super restricted

8119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 10, 2021, 10:34:00 AM
I'm actually just going to sit back tonight and enjoy watching the games. A decent bet on Liverpool ML, and then $5 each on these ridiculous outcomes (hey, why not, right?). Any of you also got crazy ideas or bets? I mean, it won't be the first time we see a massive upset at Last 16 stage right?Wink

Just noticed screenshot wasn't full, these bets are basically on Barcelona to win at least 3-0 (couldn't find outrights to qualify actually), Lazio to qualify and Gladbach to qualify.

8120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +53348 units on: March 10, 2021, 08:25:19 AM
Damn you Dortmund haha. Thought you'd do better at home after winning away but actually could have lost it as well. Not enough to take us home, Juve.

Was a nice way to cash in on City losing but Southampton are a different proposition altogether. Still, we like wasting money so why not?
