8141  Other / Meta / Re: List of accounts that need to be recovered on: June 02, 2018, 12:19:43 AM
@OP, could you list in your table the accounts that need to be recovered and a link to theri profile as well as what you already have. It might make it a bit faster as a thread for seeing accounts that need recovering and as they are probably hacked accounts, will give a heads up to anyone wanting to trade with one of those accounts?
8142  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: June 01, 2018, 03:23:31 PM
Hi, I recently deposited into chipmixer, but am not showing any chips? The transaction was confirmed by my electrum wallet however. I am thinking that I may have the wrong session token, but am certain I have the correct deposit address. What is the best way to contact chipmixer? Any help will be greatly appreciated and I know this is a noob mistake, my apologies!

Email support if you haven't done so yet: chipmixer@protonmail.com

It's the email on their official contact page.

Thank you kindly for the reply. I have done so, and have given them the associated deposit address (I assumed that is safe?). After playing around with the site, I discovered that if you type a session token into the restore session box on the front page (that is incorrect/aka a session that has not been previously created) it will act as if it is an old session (going to the captchax2 and then subsequently to the steps 1-4 pages). However, ofc the deposit address is static per session token, so that will be different if you mistype. I think something along these lines must have happened to me (mistyped the session token, but sent it to a legitimate deposit address associated with chipmixer). So I am assuming that as long as my deposit address is accurate (which I am certain it is, as I have a screenshot of it and the sender address (from electrum, which both line up) that I should be alright?

I hope this is the case, as i'm sitting here sweating bullets!

If you have a screenshot of the deposit address, is the token not in that?
Can you not type that into chipmixer and see if anything comes up.
8143  Other / Meta / Re: How does knowledge of English relate to receiving Merit? on: May 31, 2018, 09:58:56 PM
read about merit
Read about Bitcoin? You shouldn't be here for merit, you should be here for Bitcoin (knowledge of it).
8144  Other / Meta / Re: Transfer Ownership Of Thread on: May 31, 2018, 08:19:42 PM
Could there really be such a limit? That would make no sense to me. Maybe they just do not read from Newbies, but I do not know. Can an admin please come and clear this up regarding the messaging limit and transferring the thread? The OP of the thread has agreed, so no issue there. He will not agree to locking it but only if it is transferred and I lock it. I do not know what else I could do. This is very important as this is my cryptocurrency, not his. Thanks for your help. I did see an old Meta thread that Theymos said he would transfer and that worked out.

1. Did you get a signed message from a staked address on his account if that is the case and he wan'ts to prove that he wants to transfer thread ownership to you (ensure you use the topic number and date in the signature).
2. If this is your currency, why did he make the thread?
3. There is no such limit of theymos ignoring newbies. There is such a limit that if theymos ignores you, what you want is probably never going to happen.
4. Why do you have another alt, what is the purpose of this account?
8145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Strange recovery / password phrase on: May 31, 2018, 05:40:37 PM
You could try the 11 words in electrum or somewhere similar and just see if it works. It's' not normally exactly 12 words, sometimes it can be 13 or 14 so it might have a chance of being 11 also.

You could also experiment to see if anything works on an offline copy of the bitaddress.org website on "wallet details" to see if it's a private key you have.
8146  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: May 31, 2018, 11:18:43 AM
so if you made 2 deposit transactions of 0.0055 BTC and 0.0057 BTC, (= 0.0112 BTC)
you will get 0.011 BTC (0.008 + 0.002 + 0.001) and auto-donate only 0.0002 BTC
Is it mentioned anywhere if there is a maximum timeframe for making the two (or more) deposits such that they're combined and only the "remainder" amount less than 0.001 is "auto donated"? I haven't seen anything specified anywhere... Huh

Is it just "session based"? I might have to do some testing next time I run some coins through the service.

Technically it could. If it automatically goes to stage 2, you could still get other inputs and then withdraw as you don't get your keys until step 3. I wouldn't advise relying on that though, it doesn't seem a very comfortable option IMO (quitee a nice one if you use it though).
8147  Other / Off-topic / Re: Not sure where to ask this question so here goes. on: May 30, 2018, 09:48:57 PM
Those are the indicators for Extended Validation HTTPS certificates. Such certificates are tied to an actual legal entity and the certificate issuer has to verify that the legal entity is actually requesting the certificate before the certificate is issued.
So basically every website have a different certificates depend whatever certificates they have to authenticate?
and for example the image below is verified by DigiCert INC and bitcointalk forum is verified by COMODO CA Limited Am I right?

Sort of.
Myetherwallet is verified by DigiCert INC. Bitcointalk isn't verified by COMODO CA limited, that's just who issues their licence as Achow said, DigiCert legally state that myetherwallet is the site you're connecting to, Bitcointalk just tells you that the licence issuer is comodo ca (mainly as that suggests the cryptographic algorithms that can then be used).

@philipma or achow, can this be moved to ivory tower or serious discussion?
8148  Other / Meta / Re: Buying account with defaulted loan on: May 30, 2018, 09:05:11 PM
Buying/selling account is prohibited and totally illegal.
There is no rule/law against buying BitcoinTalk accounts here.
You risk getting negative trust but there is no formal rule.
has loan or default loan then you have to pay that otherwise you will get negative trust as a result there is no benefit for using that account.
That's true though.
8149  Other / Meta / Re: Can I get the Full Member status? on: May 30, 2018, 06:06:58 PM
But you did not have to get a merit for Full Member.

1. Yeah he did.

2. Can I have the million Bitcoin that satoshi mined. I think I deserve it just from  my words. Or maybe have the opportunity to buy one or several bitcoin for 5 cents?

I've earnt more merits than you and I don't even need 'em. Buy a copper membership, it's only a few $ to add the signature you want.
8150  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: May 30, 2018, 05:51:55 PM
can anyone explain how ChipMixer works?
from this post
Your 0.1 BTC is exchanged for chips: 0.064 + 0.032 + 0.004.
and from site
Depositing 0.1249 BTC will result with 0.124 BTC funds.
Depositing 0.1240 BTC will result with 0.124 BTC funds.
Will I get the same input values or not?
Do I have to donate?or it’s back to me.
what’s Bet service?

There is no longer a gambling system. You will get back exactly what you put in provided it's divisible by 0.001BTC and you don't donate any.

No, you obviously don't need to donate, as that's why it's a donation button not a fee button. But if you use them often and/or like the service, why wouldn't you want to donate.

Chipmixer is a service that mixes your bitcoins with other people's coins.

The best way to learn anymore is to practice using it with small chip sizes like 0.001BTC.
8151  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: May 30, 2018, 01:08:41 PM
I suspect support requests will come, whether or not a feature is there. Set a fixed fee, no donate or gamble option, and people will ask why there aren't those options. In fact, removing the betting option will probably see requests asking why, or future ones asking why not. I think we all know enough about people that questions will be asked, no matter how detailed explanations in FAQ can be Wink
Yes, those questions will be asked for now. but then they'll go away won't they? In a few months, new users to chipmixer will have no idea that there used to be a gambling feature on it that used to exist. New users currently probably don't either so it does solve the issue. and I do like the donate feature instead of charging a fee as then you can set how much you can actually give them and that you can actually pull out chips as private keys instead of them having to send you the coins as then you get to determine your own fee and the delay you want to use.

The minimum is back to 0.001... but that's not anyway an impact since the betting is completely optional. No one is forced to use it, but it is an additional step to randomize output size. I still think it was a very good, very unique option others didn't have, but if there were a better alternative, I'm all for it.
I still think a separate gambling site where you get a voucher code or something to input would be a good idea for them tro try to do. Even 7$ is quite steep for an initial bet (it's usually nice to run quuite a few 1 sat bet to check everything's close to fair - at least 30% win chance on x2 bets).

As loyce said it served as a good way to donate to the mixer or to get a bit more back than you were expecting from tiny inputs - though maybe not many people actually used this function or peopel used it instead of the donate feature and the house edge was too low for it to turn a profit from that.
As TheQuin said also, it still says the 0.004BTC on the main site @chipmixer, could you cange this when removing the gambling feature? Can you also change the bit at the bottom that says sessions will timeout after 48h and change that to the 7 days it currently is please Smiley?
8152  Other / Meta / Re: Can I get the Full Member status? on: May 29, 2018, 11:25:10 PM
Nonsense.

I'm not a clone.

My activity is natural, without cheating.

I am worthy of Full Member status without any merit.

The majority of your posts are in the altcoin section, russian and polotics and sociaty (the last 20 are at least). These are places renound for not getting many merits awarded (other than the Russian board). Maybe try posting in the main bitcoin sections if you want merit since you can understand and write in English quite well.

Everyone with 140 activity points who is here for a genuine reason probably thinks they're worthy of full memberm, the issue is that not everone who says they are worthy actually is worthy.
8153  Other / Meta / Re: Can I get the Full Member status? on: May 29, 2018, 10:20:42 PM
No, you can't become Full Member without 100 Merits. You still need to get 93 Merits. If you want, you can purchase Copper Membership, it allows to have bigger signature, but it doesn't allow to wear avatar

97 merits is it not?

You're not special here, dude.
No one is special here (except maybe Theymos).

No. There might be another donation rank that includes avatar permissions though, waiting for that, if it ever happens is your best bet (though it might be faster to earn merits)

Maybe a membershi a bit higher than copper membership, 20$ or 10$+copper membership might be a good idea.
8154  Other / Meta / Re: Buying account with defaulted loan on: May 29, 2018, 08:05:04 PM
So bad, I hope that loan is connected with a person not with an account Sad

It's obviously connected with both. What account is this that you've bought anyway?
8155  Other / Meta / Re: Timeline of Bitcointalk and Important Events of Bitcoin Journey on: May 29, 2018, 05:45:40 PM
Nice timeline also. And if anyone knows theymos' story (even theymos yourself) as to how you became to know bitcoin so early on it would be much appreciated (maybe make a book about it - I'd pay for that).
Forgive me if I'm wrong... But I read it (somewhere)... we aren't suppose to talk about it?
Also if someone want to stay anonymous we should respect his privacy?

There's probably a lot of things we're probably not supposed to talk about, however, I don't think that's one of them? Why is it a bad idea to look at persoanl accounts of how people got into Bitcoin, everyone has a story, some are good; some are avarage; some are just people getting bored with running the algorithms they're employed to run on government supercomputers...

Does the birth of SHA256 deserve to be on there?
Well I guess no... but it's just a cryptography technique and cryptography dates back to  1900 BCE in Egypt :p

Yeah that is a bit like askiig for everything that has ever been created slightly relevant to be on there.
Like the origin of the mod function or the creation of every cryptographic algorithm that came before SHA256 that SHA256 was an improvement of.
8156  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: May 29, 2018, 05:38:45 PM
Hadn't noticed it till I read pugman's post in the campaign thread but belated wishes for a happy first anniversary to Chipmixer! I still recall trying out the new mixer on the block with some curiosity, pleased to say there hasn't come another quite like it.

Also just read the betting fixture will be gone, that was a unique feature. Can we be expecting new features in the coming year?

I had mixed feelings about the betting thing. Based on how many times we got newbies asking why they would possibly want to donate to a bitcoin mixer (as if chipmixer were expected to be running a free service) and they must have got a lot of spam to their support asking why these functions existed (they obviously need the donate function).

I remember trying these out just after I got accepted into the campaign and got my first payment (I tested with 0.004BTC) and everything worked surprisingly well. I split my chip once and then split one of those chips again and bet with it (I won on my first bet and lost on the second and third so ended up with 0.002BTC but it was quite a nice integration to the system and I quite liked that).

A separate gambling site where you can request a voucher code from the mixer and use it on that site might work a bit better (I have a feeling the gambling thing went because otherwise people were forced to bet with quite a high minimum also - since the minimum chip size changed from 0.001BTC (~$7) to 0.004BTC (~$24).
8157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Accessing old Bitcoin-qt client on a Mac on: May 29, 2018, 05:31:44 PM
Thanks jack. I definitely didn't send them (the transaction date is July of 2014, same as the other ones that went to my own bitcoin address) -- I stopped using bitcoin in 2013.

I looked up the address they were sent to in the transaction log online, and it seems bitcoins were sent from that address (plus 3 others) to 2 new addresses. I'm getting the feeling my other bitcoins are long gone. Weird.

I did get ~75% of them after almost 5 years.

Can you post the addresses the coins were sent to or look them up in a block explorer so see if there has been any activity in them recently?
Follow where the majority of the coins go, if they go to an address that says it's held more than 100BTC previously, that means the coins have either gone to an experienced hacker (less likely) or to an exhcange (more likely). If they have gone to an exchange stright from that address, you can look up the exchange and might have a bit of luck contacting them (however, they are probably unlikely to comply and the coins have probably long left their servers).
8158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Accessing old Bitcoin-qt client on a Mac on: May 28, 2018, 10:00:51 PM
Also, I have found the "change address" online for the missing BTC. It was sent from one of my bitcoin addresses in 2014 to two separate addresses. One of the two addresses is listed in my wallet and when I run dumpprivkey it returns back the private key. The other address however that was sent (at the same day / exact time) returns back nothing when I run dumpprivkey. Is this b/c my wallet is out of sync?

No. Syncing your wallet probably won't do anything as it's non-HD [as it's too early to be].

If the address isn't in your wallet, and you can't remember where the coins went to, you probably can't get access to them. You could search your inbox for that address just in case it is on your emails somewhere and it can jog your memory to where that address went.
8159  Economy / Lending / Re: Invest in Sweeet | First Legit Investor-Plan (Closed) on: May 28, 2018, 09:15:00 PM
so i guess sweet has just left right ?

I mean at least he repayed someone. Also, I actually forgot about this so maybe he did also?

He did log in recently though on his main account. someone remind me at the start of next year and I'll send him a reminder (no one is going to raise 1BTC in a matter of months so it's no point in asking monthly).
8160  Other / Meta / Re: Stat page is not updated on: May 28, 2018, 01:08:23 AM
As I understand it, due to an extreme lack of server capabilities to handle tis data, the updating of the stats pages was withdrawn (mainly due to Ddos attacks and the server generally being quite slow).

It would actually be quite nice to have this data but I don't think the server is still capable of supporting this at the moment (as theymos would already have brought it back).
