8161  Other / Meta / Re: Two (newbie) accounts spamming forum with same content on: October 29, 2018, 02:27:38 PM
Findingnemo, that thread is becoming a mega thread, I have other reports there that moderators haven't handled. I believe this user needs ban immediately. User still spamming forum here is his/her latest posted about 1+hr ago.

8162  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Alizaind's 1st Merit Story on: October 28, 2018, 06:02:05 PM
Pertahankan karya baik
8163  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos please change the ban appeal message. on: October 28, 2018, 06:50:49 AM
What is the point of saying people can appeal and that it is ok to discuss the ban in meta?
For users who still feels they have a chance to appeal, I feel this will be the best option
"New Child Board for banned users" I also have some additional suggestion. I notice all members who started the topic on ban accounts are new members and that can only mean as a ban user you lose the privileges to start topics or rely on topics so the only option is to create a new account to appeal your case. I believe this isn't the best solution since most users get banned and most times don't know why. So in addition to creating a separate child board for banned users, they should also have the privileges of using their old account to appeal their cases only on the child board section. this will prevent the amount of alt account created on the forum.

Edited:
Sometimes there are exceptions.
After investigation, and with help from the rest of the mod team, I've determined that inbizin = bitkoinguru$$$. He created that blog post (registering the domain in June) and then made that post in Meta in order to frame you. The moderator who actually did the banning was not a Russian moderator, but was acting upon what seemed to be a clear case of plagiarism. The thought of this type of attack had occurred to me before, but this is the first time that it's actually been done successfully. I'll have to think about countermeasures. You're unbanned. Sorry about that.
For users who still feels they have a case to appeal, I feel this will be the best option
<...>

But why not actually tackle the problem at the source of the issue? That's just sweeping the dirt under the rug or into a different room. The crap is still going to be there just out of sight. Change the ban message or give them the details of why they were banned and that should stop most people from even asking about their ban. Of course some will still protest but the numbers of them will be greatly reduced.
.

that's why I gave the following suggestion above, we're humans sometimes there could be mistakes so let's give ban users a chase to appeal their ban but it should be done from their banned accounts to prevent the creation of alt accounts here and there.
8164  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Your Ideology Affects You what Tokens to Support? on: October 28, 2018, 05:07:03 AM
Do you also experience having a preference on buying one token to another because of your principles or ideology?
honestly speaking I don't. the only reason I buy tokens or coins is because of their future ROI. I buy them mostly at presale or immediately they get listed and wait patiently until I get the feeling the hype is over and trade them immediately to Bitcoin then forget them for good. moving to another wanna be bitcoin. so far I have made 3 digits in bitcoin from doing so and still holding. I don't care what the coin is use for, none of that is my business since I know they all will die someday and the only true cryptocurrency is Bitcoincash oops Grin BITCOIN
8165  Other / Meta / Re: I WISH NOT TO GIVE UP on: October 28, 2018, 04:27:04 AM
I want to share what I have done, maybe can help you.
1. Find top marited member.
2. Read & learn their history post .
3. Then start to give contribution to this forum like top marited member do.
Just so you don't misunderstand his statement, learning means you should study their writing pattern, learning to improve on your writing skills & not to copy and paste their writings,
study merited posts
And for all Newbies who think they can copy someone else's work: this will get you banned! See this example from a merit hunter, or this entire thread for many more examples.
8166  Other / Meta / Re: Unused smerits shouldn't be destroyed but sent to merit sources after 1 month. on: October 27, 2018, 05:46:18 PM
Your idea is good but I don't think the members who are hoarding the merits will get the point you are looking for if we just sent their sMerits to the merit sources.
maybe,  maybe not. I believe it will increase the level of awareness, user who don't send smerit will get active and start sending the smerits. It might not be the best option but I was looking for the solution to user that hoarding smerit long term to merit their newly created alt accounts
8167  Other / Meta / Re: Most entertaining person on bitcointalk - POLL - 12 days - 3 votes per member on: October 27, 2018, 05:23:48 PM
Just saw this now, congrats to suchmoon. This is my best of his. I still launch each time I come across post (never gets old). If you haven't read enjoy
READ THIS WHOLE POST BEFORE ACTING LEST YOU GET VERY UNDESIRABLE RESULTS.

I have a major pet peeve with the merit system. I often see some disgruntled users complaining that deserving posts don't get merits therefore the system is unfair. But when I ask for examples of such posts I usually hear a cricket chorus in a tumbleweed. So I've decided to stop asking for examples because that's pointless. However just in case I'm wrong about that - keep reading.

First of all, if you're seeing under-merited posts and you don't have enough sMerits to reward those posts then you should apply to become a merit source. If you've done that and haven't been appointed yet, or if you're already a merit source and you ran out of sMerits, or if there is some other serious reason that prevents those brilliant posts from receiving merits - keep reading.

Send me a personal message (PM) with a subject "Post deserves merit" and a link to a post that needs merit and a brief explanation why you think so. If I have spare time and spare merits I may review it and decide to merit it.

  • DON'T send me links to your own posts.
  • DO send links to posts of other users.
  • DON'T post requests in this thread.
  • You can send me multiple links but my attention spa... spa?! Sounds fabulous!

tl;dr: Nice try. Read it all.
8168  Other / Meta / Re: Posting behaviour feedback on: October 27, 2018, 10:54:40 AM
Might not be your intention; but a topic like this just freaks of fishing for merits. Much like the 100 that preceded it.
If truly you have read other topic on thanking the administrator for implementing the new rule towards newbies ranking up then you need no crystal ball to review to you what the intention of this topic was Grin

Quick recap, The Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements"  topic was posted on the 17th of September and OP before starting this topic has replied to other topic on forum and also started previous topics  between September - October so what else if not (merit) do you think user intention was when creating topic & ending with this
but bravo to the decision makers for making a good call. This is definitely a step in the right direction in the War on Spamerism  Wink
8169  Other / Serious discussion / Re: The concept of originality ~ a muse on: October 27, 2018, 07:54:14 AM

Bitcoin developed by Satoshi Nakamoto is an example. Bitcoin was not the first attempt at inventing a decentralized digital currency, but it was the most successful.
Does that make the creation less original?

Yes in a way it does. i believe every invention has its inspiration from previous experience. For an idea to come into your mind it must have been gotten from your surrounding either consciously or subconsciously. Based on the Bible (as a Christian) I believe the last time something was original was in the time of noah and after the flood, every other thing invented are just imitation, taking already existing ideas and making it better. Not saying this is bad or it should stop but that's just my believe. And so far it has been good for humanity's existence.
Examples:
Super market -- Amazon
Taxi -- Uber
Stock market -- very soon Crypto Market (lol)
8170  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading platforms are growing but what about investors ? on: October 27, 2018, 06:59:34 AM
I'm glad new exchange especially decentralized ones are been created almost on daily bases. This is a welcome development because the more exchange the cryptocurrency community gets, it will encourage competition in the exchange business and drive the wide abortion and through advertisements new investors will be introduced into the market. What I'm against are the utility tokens they bring along with them flooding the community with useless tokens on daily bases.
8171  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: wondering about the Merit on: October 27, 2018, 05:09:12 AM
and being a newbie with no merit does not limit me from having what a need.
I can also express my opinion and give my contribution where i have something to say, that is not limited either.
here is the truth, being a newbie just have one limit (when it comes to contribution to forum not features), there are some boards you can't participate in discussion there. Like the Serious discussion and Ivory Tower board. Apart from that the forum is all your to voice out your contributions when you have one. And when it comes to merits, don't just put all your attention there instead  focus on adding value to forum, Let the forum feel your impact by quality contributions and it's members will reward you with merits. In general,
(1). "Stop searching for merit and you will get them i.e stop commenting or posting just to get merits." . and your stay on forum will be enjoyable
8172  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 4 Things Traders Must Do To Be Successful on: October 27, 2018, 04:47:36 AM
Off course experience is the best teacher just as any successful trader will know success is a bad teacher. Mistake (failure) are needed for every trader to learn from. After your experience that mistake and learn from it positively you will notice your trading performance will improve. And when it comes to strategy making, it depends on the individual. Choose what suit & works for you. Just because Trader A uses strategy C and it worked for him/her doesn't mean it will work for Trader B
8173  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How is a day of a crypto trader? on: October 27, 2018, 04:36:25 AM
Well most of my trading are done automatically. I make use of stop loss and take profit and I'm a day to day trader. So far I haven't suffered any major losses due to my strategy. And I have been trading close to 3years
8174  Other / Meta / Re: Finally a turtle crossed the finish line on: October 26, 2018, 11:39:43 PM
When I saw the headlines, immediately I was eager to know how the turtle crossed the finish line. You got me there. Firstly I have to say, nice headline and secondly, congratulations on your achievement. I get you feel that way about your ranking up. Like they say it's only a poor man that thinks money will make him happy but realizes that's isn't true when he finally gets the money. Once again congratulations r1s2g3,
8175  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: INSTANT EXCHANGES on: October 26, 2018, 04:25:15 PM
Sr. Member, thank you a lot!
You don't have to thank everyone that replies your topic. So doing will be considered spamming and you might get temporary ban or get your topic deleted. Also i can see you're a newbie so avoid one sentence replies. And delete all "thank you one liner comments" to avoid further issues on forum.

As for your question above I don't use instant exchange on regular bases because of their fee it's too expensive. No need going going further i believe vit05 has said it all. If you're satisfy by replies then lock topic to avoid bounty members spamming thread.
8176  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did you start trading? on: October 26, 2018, 03:59:06 PM
<...>

I started from scratch. First, I was introduced to a investing site called "MMM"

So did i, it was the ponzi biz "MMM" that introduce me to bitcoin and cryptocurrency trading in 2015. After purchasing bitcoin from a friend, I was planning to provide help (PH) on the platform then I saw an announcement informing its user of the sudden rise in bitcoin price. I did some research immediately, same day i created my very first trading account on poloniex & sold my bitcoin to USD then after few days I got 50% increase on my btc capital since then i have been trading & the rest is history Cool

8179  Other / Meta / Re: Two (newbie) accounts spamming forum with same content on: October 25, 2018, 06:36:12 PM
It looks like the user thanhgonzalez already nuked by our moderators because we can see that account has zero posts and zero activity.
Yes I can see that too although before I made this post today, he still had activities and posts and the user just made a post then I remembered I have seen same post before by another user. Why mod not ban second account yet?
8180  Other / Meta / Two (newbie) accounts spamming forum with same content on: October 25, 2018, 04:16:35 PM
I believe this two account are from the same user trying to get traffic from forum for his/her pump and dump group. A quick look at their post history reviews they have been spamming with same content over and over again.

User1: BBbill Still actively spamming
User2: thanhgonzalez Banned/nuked

Spamming message:
We have a pump group with over 2500 accredited investors that pump and hold coins. The team also spends thousands of dollars on advertisements during the pump making it last longer so everyone can profit. The groups last pump reached over 5500%! - t.me/iblockchainglobal
