I wanted to comment on your wrong use of the list code you initially posted, but you seem to have corrected it in the meantime. Instead of the format your opening post is in now, take a look at the what it could look like instead:

Quote
I registered on January 26, 2021. I was not active at the beginning. Recently, I started to read constantly. I felt that there was too much knowledge to learn. I tried to post the first post. As a result, no one responded to me.

I made a brief summary. There are several reasons:

  • The content and the title are a bit inconsistent, and the expression is rather vague.
  • My own knowledge reserves are relatively small, and the opinions expressed do not bring enough value to the readers
  • Although it is not a plagiarism point of view, the point of view is too common and has some low value and meaninglessness. In my opinion, it's really boring.

I have been thinking about it these days, because I think the Bitcoin forum is indeed a treasure. Especially after reading some articles by heroes and legendary members, I feel that I have benefited a lot. I summarize some of my views, hoping to provide some reference for novices.

This is how I am planning to improve in the future:

  • I will spend a lot of time reading high-quality posts, increasing my knowledge reserve, and not posting low-value, meaningless, boring posts and replies.
  • Read and study the rules of the forum carefully. For example, don't publish posts that are irrelevant to the topic, don't be a headline party, don't beg, don't conduct advertising, and don't publish worthless posts. There are also no illegal, violent, pornographic posts or links, no illegal transactions, and so on.

In the discussion to maintain a high degree of activity, I once calculated that a legendary member would read at least dozens of posts, 10 replies, and report many worthless spam posts every day. In the forum, sincerity, truthfulness, and sincerity are the best attitudes. If you sincerely serve the forum and do helpful and meaningful things for the readers, you will get the recognition and advantages of others, and MERIT.

I believe that my posts will be seen and answered by more and more people. I will cheer and become a hero member first.

These are just simple changes that make the post look more professional. The content of the post should be your first priority. After that, you should focus on the presentation and the way it looks.
8182  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why no one replied to my post? on: July 07, 2021, 08:52:49 AM
I just read it and I don't know what to reply honestly.
To sum it up, it's an outburst of emotions followed by human civilization... humans... human control... bitcoin uncontrollable by humans, etc.

And then you are saying things like:
Quote
Bitcoin is the first existence independent of the existence of human civilization after the birth of human civilization on the earth.

It's just hard to read and looks chaotic. Try to organize your thoughts and introduce more facts and less emotions. Everything is so pressed together and hard on the eye. Try adding a few paragraphs and a bit of line spacing.

Your thread was posted in the Bitcoin Discussion board. It's a section of the forum with a lot of posts and plenty of spam. If a thread isn't eye-catchy and doesn't get a reply within the first hour or two of being posted, it tends to get burred underneath other discussions.

8183  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The relationship between blockchain and Bitcoin? on: July 07, 2021, 08:27:04 AM
And yeah, the logic for what makes Bitcoin actually valuable is not 100% clear and easy to grasp, hence most (especially economists) get it wrong.
  • Its scarcity.
  • The supply and demand factor.
  • The fact that governments can't block, limit, or reverse the transactions of the people they want to control.
  • The fact that their banking pals and wall street manipulators are becoming non essential and less useful than what they were 30+ years ago.
  • The conversion of energy into a decentralized monetary system.

Etc., etc...
8184  Economy / Gambling / Re: List Of Crypto Casinos with The Best Faucets on: July 07, 2021, 08:11:00 AM
Update:

I have added several new crypto casinos in the table in OP. The added sites are, WinTomato, Casino Royale, Betja, BCH.games, BC.Game, Rocket.Run, and Bitsler. If you spot any mistakes, don't hesitate to let me know.

Has anyone managed make some decent wins after a faucet claim? Something that was eventually withdrawn?
8185  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [Table] All Lightning Network Threads In One Place on: July 06, 2021, 04:32:01 PM
[🛠️ Bitcoin LightningATM], which by the way is not on your list, + also consider adding this topic to the list of "Special Mentions".
Your thread isn't on my list because it was written in 2017, and the table only lists topics dating back to 2017. I am not going to add it to the table because nothing else is there from 2017, but I will add it to the Special Mentions category. I think it's a good read and it shows how to build your own ATM machine.

Paul bought the hardware wallet with the intention of better security, but the power of better security from the hardware wallet isn't utilized because his portfolio is still connected to the software wallet which means if he loses his seed phrase written down on a piece of paper, then access  to his coins is also lost.
You would lose access to your coins on a hardware wallet as well if you lost the corresponding recovery phrase. So it doesn't matter if that seed is used on a software or a hardware wallet.

The best he  should have done imo is create a totally new wallet on the hardware wallet and sent the coins from software wallet to this hardware wallet without forgetting to backup the hardware wallets seed or private key.
OK, we are moving in the right direction. You are saying that he should create a new wallet on his hardware device and generate a new seed. Why can't he use the old seed that was entered in a hot wallet? Is that not a good option and why not?

A small correction in regards to your quote. When you are using a hardware wallet, the private keys remain on the device at all times. You don't have access to them. They are only used during the transaction signing process. There are advanced methods to get them them out, but that's another story.
8187  Other / Meta / Re: Question for admins: Add one more post in my thread maybe? on: July 06, 2021, 01:34:32 PM
I can see how reallocating the message IDs presents problems for scraping forum posts. Good luck with dealing with that mess.
Luckily, it's not something that happens that often. In whole of Bitcointalk's history, I would be surprised if more than 10 people asked the administration to add a new post in their threads. Maybe those numbers will increase following this discussion. LoyceV's scrapper picks up only new posts. It doesn't register changes made to already existing posts. That's also why if you mentioned a user's name in an edited post, that user wouldn't be notified of the mention even if he is using LoyceV's bot.

Globals can't do it, but I suppose you could maybe get around it with some trickery by splitting the threads and then merging them with another you created. Probably much easier to get an admin to do it though  Grin.
But that would also require the assistance of admins and global mods. Ordinary users can't merge two threads, can they Huh

How would that merging go exactly? If I have a thread where there has been 20 replies and I create a new thread to merge it with my first two posts, what goes where exactly? Can the forum staff merge it in a way that the OP of my new thread becomes the 3rd post in my old thread? Please explain the process a bit?
8188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who to Trust, Fiat Banks or BTC? on: July 06, 2021, 09:29:49 AM
Trust or no trust, the reality is that most people use banks and that's where their salaries go. I am no different. I certainly don't trust them, but I am required to use them. My employer pays my salary to my bank account, the only other option is PayPal. I dislike PayPal more than I dislike banks.

I don't like the fact that I am losing money for international transactions whenever I am receiving funds to my account due to intermediary banks.
I don't like the fact that by bank takes out €2 every month under the pretext of monthly account maintenance.
I don't like that "suspicious activity" will and can be reported to my local tax authority or other government agencies without my knowledge.

With all that in mind, I can't trust them with my money or my data, but like I said, I am stuck with them.
8189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbooks often offer different odds for the same type of bet on: July 06, 2021, 08:41:47 AM
Here is an example of two different bets on a live football match that mean the same thing but have different odds.

The X2 double chance pays 3.46. To win the bet, your team has to win or draw the match.
The Home team to win - No pays 3.57. With this bet, you are betting on a draw or away team win (which is the same outcome as the X2 bet).
8190  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [Table] All Lightning Network Threads In One Place on: July 06, 2021, 08:29:30 AM
Update:

The table is finally completed. I think you should be able to find all valuable Lightning Network discussions from January 2018 until June 2021.
The Special Mentions is reserved for those threads I believe are the most valuable and a must-read for anyone who wants to learn more about the LN.

If you believe that I unfairly overlooked your or someone else's thread (in special mentions or elsewhere), don't hesitate to let me know. As time goes on I will keep updating the table to link to new discussions about the LN.
8191  Other / Meta / Re: Question for admins: Add one more post in my thread maybe? on: July 06, 2021, 07:40:28 AM
Thank theymos, that will come in handy!

Does this mean that you do not keep track of the content of deleted posts? If not, that sounds risky.
I think you guys misunderstood. I don't think theymos meant that he deletes a random post (spam or not) somewhere on the forum to re-use its message ID and make room for an additional post like he did in my thread or in 1miau's.

He used the term "repurpose". I believe he checks the database of already deleted posts (posts deleted at one point in the past) and just reallocates the message ID of a matching post to a different forum member.

Riddle #9

Paul has used a software wallet for his crypto for almost two years. Although he has never had any issues with it, he has learned that using a hardware wallet is much safer. So he took advantage of a Black Friday deal and purchased a brand-new hardware wallet with a discount.

Once the product was shipped to him, he started the setup process for his new hardware device. When the installation wizard asked him whether he wants to create a new wallet or restore an existing one from seed, he chose to restore from seed.

He entered the seed of his multi-coin software wallet, which he has kept written down on a piece of paper in his new hardware device. Within a few minutes, all his portfolio and crypto balance became visible to him on screen.

Paul is happy to have increased the security of his assets and that they are now safe thanks to his new hardware wallet.

But are they really?
Did Paul make any mistakes in the setup process, and is there something he should have done differently?

Help Paul to figure out the correct steps.

There is the risk of a government-sponsored 51% attack.
If we start reading reliable news coming from miners directly that someone (be it the government or anyone else), is starting to confiscate huge numbers of mining units, we could be closer to such a scenario. But it's still an expensive attack to maintain even if they gathered the required amount of hardware.

I think the Chinese government has reached its goal. Chinese miners have been shut down, they have seen what will happen to them, and their mining operations in China are now a thing of the past. With them out of the way, the communist party can now switch their attention to the digital yuan.
8194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbooks often offer different odds for the same type of bet on: July 05, 2021, 06:59:07 PM
<Snip>
That's an interesting find. Three different markets and odds for basically the same thing. Italy has to qualify to reach the finals, and if they do qualify for the finals, they will finish in either the first or second spot.

These are odds are from Stake, am I right? I sometimes confuse Stake with Wolf.bet, but Wolf.bet's layout is all blue if I am not mistaken.
8195  Other / Meta / Re: Question for admins: Add one more post in my thread maybe? on: July 05, 2021, 06:49:17 PM
That's subjective to censorship  Cheesy I guess. Maybe I'm going off topic. Who has access to DB? Is it only theymos and/or cyrus too? Or any other global moderator?
I doubt global moderators have access to the database. We know from some old posts that theymos has access to it. Someone else has access to an old database of Bitcointalk as well. Whoever hacked the forum back in the day.

Here is one post where theymos talks about who owns and has access to what:

Quote
Bitcointalk.org:
 - Cobra has ultimate control over the domain name. I have access to the domain name settings.
 - I run the server. Cobra has no access to the database or server.
 - The BTC is held by myself and the treasurers. Cobra has no access.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3284381.msg34255007#msg34255007

I don't know of any references that mention that Cyrus has access to the database, but I find it unlikely that he wouldn't have. Based on forum hierarchy, he is next in line and if something happened to theymos I am sure Cyrus has everything he needs to resume the work.
8196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [Jun 2021] Mempool empty! Use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs! on: July 05, 2021, 12:39:38 PM
I don't find it scary at all, it's good news all around. There's now far less of a concentration of miners in China.
I like that part of mining leaving China as well. What I don't like is a +50% less secure bitcoin network precisely for the reasons LoyceV mentioned in his post above. Although I don't find the threat of a 51% attack that realistic because it's almost impossible that all the missing hashing power could end up in the hands of the same individual or a malicious group who are going to use it for such a purpose. It's even less realistic that those who are still providing their computational power to the network do the same thing. A combination of 1 and 2 makes more sense, but I doubt it.

Eventually, all those mining rigs will find their way out of China and get redeployed somewhere else.
Sure, but that is going to take time. It's not a one-click process. If the miners decide to sell their equipment, it's gonna take weeks to pack up, ship, and connect and configure at the new destination. If they decide to leave China to mine somewhere abroad, it might take even longer. Finding a new location, ensuring you understand and comply to local laws and regulations, finding an electricity provider, filling out the paperwork, setting up your farm...

Žao mi je zbog neurednog prevođenja. Roll Eyes

8198  Other / Meta / Re: A suggestion for Highlighting Posts. on: July 05, 2021, 09:25:50 AM
There is one thing that you can do to "highlight" good threads in a particular board and that is sorting the threads according to views in a descending order. It's only logical that a good thread has more views than a bad thread who no one wants to read. Instead of sorting threads from newest to oldest, which is the default way the forum categorizes them, sort them according to the number of views.

Just click on 'Views' as shown below until you see an arrow that points downwards. That will help you with the threads. Unfortunately, it doesn't do anything when it comes to highlighting individual posts.

The situation looks even better this morning. At the moment I am writing this post, there are less than 500 unconfirmed transactions according to what https://mempool.space/ is showing. A 1 sat/vByte is all that is needed today. I hope this lasts.
