8181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Just calm the f$%^ down, this is not the end of Bitcoin. on: November 15, 2018, 05:37:49 AM
People are running for the hills, because they think the sky is falling and this is the end of Crypto currencies.  Roll Eyes

This whole spectacle has started with the FUD that are being spread in mainstream media and the supposed "war" that is happening in the Bitcoin world.

We can thank Roger Ver and Craig Wright for this, because they are the people who are fuelling this BITCOIN CASH war, with the upcoming BITCOIN CASH fork.

The dumb speculators do not know the difference between BITCOIN <BTC> and BITCOIN CASH , so they see blood on the street and instability, and they start to panic.

There is also confusion about some of the Bitcoin <BTC> hashing power that might be shifted to support one of the forks and to create a scenario where a specific fork would be sabotaged to enable double spend attacks.  Roll Eyes

All of this is causing massive confusion amongst people <speculators>, who does not know the difference between Bitcoin <BTC> and BITCOIN CASH and now the real Bitcoin is suffering because of that.

We will see a correction after the fork, when these idiots realize that the sky is not falling after all.  Roll Eyes

8182  Economy / Speculation / Re: BLACK WEDNESDAY! on: November 15, 2018, 05:26:47 AM
You can thank Roger Ver and Craig Wright for this drop in the price. The confusion started when speculators saw media statements about a war between Bitcoin Cash groups over the fork. They somehow made a link between Bitcoin <BTC> and Bitcoin Cash <wonder why?> and they thought the price of Bitcoin <BTC> will drop because of this fork.  Angry

Speculators have no clue about the technicalities and differences between Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, so any instability will cause them to panic and when they panic, they sell.  Angry

This Bitcoin <BTC> and Bitcoin Cash thing is destroying everything in Crypto currencies.  Angry Angry Angry
8183  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is falling !! on: November 15, 2018, 05:18:00 AM
Calm down folks!

The whole thing is based on speculators being confused between Bitcoin Cash and the real Bitcoin <BTC>

https://www.forbes.com/sites/cbovaird/2018/11/14/what-triggered-bitcoins-sharp-price-plunge/#616be24e1d66   If you look at mainstream media, the sky is falling, because a war in "Bitcoin" will break out. They are confusing Bitcoin Cash with Bitcoin <BTC> and they think the war between the two groups in Bitcoin Cash over the fork, will have some influence on Bitcoin <BTC>  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

The FUD and the confusion is sending speculators into a panic.  Roll Eyes
8184  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What should be done to support newbies? on: November 14, 2018, 06:34:57 AM
The moderators are strict when it comes to newbies infringing on the rules, because "newbie" accounts are misused the most. My advice would be for Newbies to show moderators that they are not one of those "Sockpuppet" accounts that are being misused and to stick to the rules of the forum.

Once you have proven that your account is legitimate and that you are contributing constructively <Post history>, moderators will leave you alone to do your thing. It takes months/years to build a good post history and also a good reputation.  Sad

I am not saying that higher ranked users are exempt from the rules, but the mods will consider your post history to see if you are a habitual criminal  Grin or if your actions was just a minor infringement. <First offender>  Cheesy
8185  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Affiliate Programs on: November 14, 2018, 06:19:38 AM
Seeing that Freebitco.in has changed it's focus from being a faucet to a gambling site, I think it is acceptable to include them in the list of gambling sites, with a affiliate/referral program.

" Refer your friends after signing up, and get 50% of whatever they win in addition to getting free lottery tickets every time they play.
"

This is also one of the sites with the biggest user base and one of the first gambling sites in the Bitcoin scene.  Roll Eyes
8186  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet issue-not showing amount on: November 14, 2018, 06:08:57 AM
I am just shooting in the dark here, but did you use old legacy addresses or SegWit addresses when you created the wallet? You might have restored the legacy addresses and not the SegWit addresses?

Also check your firewall settings to see if anything is being blocked that might prohibit access to those servers. What was the result of the Block explorer search?  Huh Huh Huh <If you see nothing on the address and some recent movement of coins, then you know someone has hijacked your computer and moved the funds, before you got access to it.>
8187  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-10] Which Cryptocurrency Will Ignite the Next Crypto Market Explosion? on: November 14, 2018, 05:59:02 AM
People should accept that the general public has come around to the idea that Alt coins are merely speculative instruments now and Bitcoin is the anchor investment option in Crypto currencies. Ethereum had it's Hey days, when ICOs bloomed, but since the ICO advertisements were being banned on popular social media, the ICOs declined and Ethereum also suffered as a result of that.

The Crypto market will explode when Bitcoin goes to the Moon, we saw this with the last ATH in 2017.  Roll Eyes  A high Bitcoin price, will attract a lot of speculators in other Alt coins.  Tongue
8188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coin War: Can A Country Officially Back Bitcoin? on: November 14, 2018, 05:44:53 AM
Ripple are having some wild pipe dreams with these statements. They will do anything to grab people's attention and as seen before, partner with anyone, just to survive. <They were also one of the first Alt coins to partner up with Banks>

So they are now bending over and asking for some attention from the US government.  Roll Eyes

Governments do not have to use Alt coins, to achieve their goals, they control fiat currencies and that gives them control over fiat conversion from Crypto.  Tongue

" Hi Ciprian, if these messages arrive in your Gmail Inbox, please mark them as Spam to train Gmail's spam filters.

The domain you see is absolutely standard for messages sent from G Suite accounts (these were previously known as Google Apps accounts hence the domain name includes "g apps").

If someone is acting illegally in your area, please report their activity to legal authorities in the same jurisdiction.  Google is not able to act in the roles of Prosecutor, Judge and Jury.

8190  Economy / Economics / Re: Young people will drive Bitcoin adoption more than the older generation. on: November 14, 2018, 05:23:08 AM
Well, it's pretty obvious that young people are the ones who pick up new things most quickly, while old people tend to be very conservative. As people age, they tend to get scared of learning for some reason....

You touched on something that I left out, because older people have preconceived ideas on things that they have learned from previous experience, they will be hesitant to learn new things. <To them, the old ways are the right ways>

~~~~~
You are correct most of the young generation now are very aggresive in crypto business because they are already been exposed to the new technology and always get updated and adopting what is the latest. I have kids and I have taught them about cryptocurrency and you know what I have not felt hard to teach them because they are fast learner and can understand and are now effectively doing the things that I want them to do. They have done their own research and they got the right thing.
Younger people are like sponges for information, because they are open to new ideas. Older people tend to block new ideas, because they think they have seen and experienced it all before. My kids are also teaching me new things every day and I rate myself as being one of the more experienced "older" people.  Roll Eyes
8191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are you most interested in learning about? on: November 14, 2018, 05:14:55 AM
I am not too surprised to see that the most popular option so far, is "How to make money" on this forum. When you browse the Newbie section, you will find that it is the most common question being asked. Strange how companies have not capitalized on the opportunity to get cheap labour/marketing yet, seeing that there are such a huge demand on here.  Roll Eyes
The Signature campaigns are on the decline and Bounty campaigns are increasing. Looks like the legitimate companies are declining and the scam ICOs are moving to bounty campaigns.  Tongue
8192  Economy / Economics / Young people will drive Bitcoin adoption more than the older generation. on: November 13, 2018, 06:57:22 AM
We know that younger people these days are used to everything being faster and more efficient, because they have been exposed to technological innovation from their birth.
The younger people entered this world at a much faster pace than the older generation and they are being bombarded with choices like no generation before them. They are also used to instant gratification, because technology has enabled a world where things happens almost instantaneously.
Bitcoin is just another technology where things are done more efficiently and much faster than the traditional options available and the younger generation are drawn to these technologies, like a moth to a flame.
Bitcoin should be applied to all services where there are a need for more speed and efficiency, to draw in the younger generation that are constantly searching for that.
Do you agree? Let's discuss this and see if we can target the correct demographic with this technology.  Cool
8193  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Video game idea on: November 13, 2018, 06:44:10 AM
I think eventually alts will lose value faster than the time it takes to download the miner.
No, they won’t. There will always be demand for processing power. Especially as new chains try to fight against ASICs. Services like Nicehash do the conversion automatically while you mine and switch to the most profitable algorithm so holding value isn’t really an issue anyway.
Don't you think this might over complicate the whole issue? Most gamers hop around between different games during the day, so they might not want a miner over utilizing their available processing power, when they are playing other games that needs a lot of processing power.  Huh
It might be more feasible if this was done while you are playing this game and/or when the processor are idle. <Or user configured>  Wink
The game developer will also have to protect himself from claims that might happen, when people's hardware are damaged from over utilization for mining. <Once again, parameters would have to be developed to guard against that.>
8194  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-07] Analysis:US seized nearly 200000 bitcoins to date, 453,000 globally on: November 13, 2018, 06:28:09 AM
The US government should start to hoard bitcoins as it s going to be the only way they they can repay the national debt. Some articles say that it will go up by a trillion dollars per year, only bitcoin can save them now
They will never do that, because they do not bet on uncertainties. They only invest in things where they control the outcome and those things include the whole FIAT financial system. They have been selling seized Silkroad coins for years now and they do not intend to hoard any of those coins.
Governments makes decision with other people's tax money, so they will not take high risk decisions on money that is needed to pay their own salaries.   Roll Eyes
8195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will we have a good Bitcoin Black Friday this year? on: November 13, 2018, 06:04:22 AM
The advantage of a flat market is that people will not be upset for having spent coins that increase significantly in value afterwards. In other words, they have all the time they need to restock their coins around the same levels. That's what I am going to do as well. The more we spend the more merchants are willing to go all out during the next holiday sale events.
Just show them that we actually do use Bitcoin as money, because that's the main motivator for merchants to take Bitcoin seriously. CoinGate allows around 4000 merchants to accept LN payments, so you may give them some love too.
Even better yet, stock up on bitcoins on a flat market, before Black Friday starts. A lot of people are planning to buy with Fiat currencies or credit cards, but I find that it is much better to fund my Bitcoin wallet with fiat that I saved through the year, instead of credit. The regret is much worst if you bought with credit, than having to worry about buying stuff and dealing with the regret that you bought those coins with a low priced bitcoin and the price increasing later.  Wink
Thank you for the CoinGate tip, I will check them out this year.  Wink
8196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin for the people or for the corporations? on: November 13, 2018, 05:54:44 AM
We will have to start worrying when you no longer can use Bitcoin, without using some kind of centralized service. Most people have stopped making direct P2P payments, because they rely too much on the convenience of centralized services. <Large exchanges & Wallet providers>
The large corporations are profit driven and could care less about financial freedom, so you cannot expect them to protect your financial freedom. We are in control of our own destiny and the correct decisions will define our level of financial freedom in the future.  Roll Eyes
8197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to make the crypto acceptance universal. on: November 13, 2018, 05:47:55 AM
You sound sad that your shitcoin isn't mooning and want to hype people on crypto.... bitcoin sells itself.
People come to bitcoin and a few altcoins as they need them. Trying to market crypto just makes it look and sound like a scam.
I strongly disagree with this statement. First of all, Bitcoin is not a shitcoin and people saying this is ignorant. Secondly, Bitcoin must be marketed to people like game developers and financial institutions to give them an alternative payment option. Do you think for one moment that payment methods like PayPal and VISA and Mastercard would stop marketing their product in a competitive environment like this?
If marketing is a indicator of scams, then no advertisements would have been used on social media or any other platform for that matter.  Roll Eyes
8198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe Bakkt can start the next bull run? on: November 13, 2018, 05:32:45 AM
You sound very confident that Bakkt will be approved, so I am not going to burst your bubble and I will play along with this.  Roll Eyes If this is approved <Which I doubt> then institutional capital will start to dominate the Bitcoin scene, because they have enough funds to steer the price in a specific direction.
They can pump and also dump futures at will, so I expect higher volatility when they enter the market.  Tongue  The question is, if we want to the institutional capital to dominate the Bitcoin market? <old money>
8199  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: November 12, 2018, 08:37:57 AM
As a real supporter of Bitcoin anonymity, I am glad to say that I use this service regularly and I just want to highlight something to the benefit of many other people using this service. Make sure you click on "Finish" when you are done mixing the coins, because that last option is very important to secure your anonymity. <It removes all traces of your activity>
A lot of my friends that I introduced to this service, just closed the browser after they mixed the coins and they never finalized the process. I think it is important for people to follow the whole process to the end to guarantee their financial privacy.
Thank you once again OP for this great service to help us to protect our financial privacy.  Wink
8200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A banking app helped me beat my addiction on: November 12, 2018, 08:23:44 AM
The problem with blocking or banning yourself is that you can unblock or unban yourself. People can just open up a new account at another Bank and transfer gambling money from the one Bank that are blocked to the other Bank that are not blocked.
We had a similar situation with people banning themselves from Brick n mortar casinos, where they ban themselves and when they get desperate enough, just unban themselves again or simply switching to another casino where they are not banned. <or to gamble online>
Go to the real root of the problem and address that problem, before you start banning yourself or blocking your Bank accounts.  Roll Eyes
