Is China saving Bitcoin, or destroying it?I recently talked with Bobby Lee, CEO of BTCC, China’s first and biggest bitcoin exchange. It would be fair to call Bobby an optimist when it comes to Bitcoin in China and throughout the world. “The great part is that in China, Bitcoin is very popular. There’s a lot of speculation, and a lot of mining activity, and a lot of traders,” he says. “There’s huge interest, demand, and activity in China.” https://www.techinasia.com/china-saving-destroying-bitcoin

"I think that Bitcoin could be the world's next great safe asset." - David Andolfatto - Vice President of the St Louis Federal Reserve This brings me to Bitcoin. I think that Bitcoin could be the world's next great safe asset. At least, it certainly seems to have all the properties that are desired in a safe asset.http://andolfatto.blogspot.de/2016/03/is-bitcoin-safe-asset.html

Bitcoin Startup Hotmine Creates a Bitcoin Mining HeaterUkrainian Bitcoin startup Hotmine has presented a Bitcoin-mining device combining a very useful function of heating. The solution became possible with ‘Smart heat’ cauldrons. The device is a water heater complete with BitFury’s mining chips that heat up the water in the course of their operation. Upon reaching a particular temperature, the water heats up premises; the function remains available even after the miner ceases being profitable. http://forklog.net/a-startup-hotmine-creates-a-bitcoin-mining-heater/

use a non-infected device in the first place, (do a secure erase before using it) then you're fine to use your usb even online
you don't need to buy expesive HW like trezor, just be vigilant and don't download random stuff from the web
my hotwallet was never hacked, and i've done with it plenty of transactions
while this is true for someone who knows what he is downloading and doing online (you), it is untrue for technically-unsavvy people which OP probably is. so my advice is always: buy a hardware wallet. there are cheap ones too. @Towelielie good choice. have fun with it. I am pretty tech-savy I know all shit about viruses and such... I have windows 10 installed since its been out and never had any virus infect my pc but you never know what can happen in future so I think hardware wallet is best solution for me that is good. you should also think about splitting your funds if you own a large amount of coins. a paper wallet would be good for that. maybe this is interesting too: https://www.bitcoinarmory.com/

It is different because it is not the magical solution everyone who comes here is looking for.
How many threads do you see on the main page right now about "How do I make money with Bitcoin?".
alot. people want to make money/coins without work or they just want to gamble and "get rich"

Thoughts on Valuing Bitcoin as a NetworkValuing bitcoins is a controversial subject. Part of the problem is that traditional valuation tools (discounted cash flows, for example) simply are not helpful when applied to something like bitcoins. Much more on this subject here. Does this mean that bitcoins cannot be fundamentally or intrinsically valued? I don’t think so. http://www.wefivekingsblog.blogspot.de/
