821  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Block Erupter USB - ROI still possible on: November 11, 2013, 07:12:29 PM
Let's say the unit produces the promised 0.00033 btc/day
I love block erupter - I'll go to the post office tomorrow to get 8 of them.  However, I don't do my calculation that way you do.  I am going for the lottery style of mining.  That is, I am not going to join a pool.  But my erupter can get the lucky lottery ticket and win 25BTC in one second - maybe.  So I'll run it in the winter (I have electric heating so this makes it free to run) and when it hits I'll buy caviar!!  Whoo Hooo!
822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Colored coins VS Mastercoins - Which one is better? on: November 11, 2013, 03:02:56 PM
Mastercoin is premined shit that will never be a success.
Your understanding of cryptocurrency is clear.  You and your people should stick with Litecoin where you can flourish amongst your peers.
823  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Mastercoin! on: November 10, 2013, 07:17:59 PM
Well... there is currently a 300BTC bounty for a few development features, that at one point was worth $50,000...
Yeah, that's worth >$90,000 today.  So, we are all sorry for taking up your valuable space and bytes here on this forum while we conduct our worthless efforts on a failed project.  Maybe we can replace the Mastercoin development threads with a few more threads about 'Who is the real Satoshi?'.

Mastercoin is the hottest topic in bitcoin currently.  What's the problem with a few threads?  Do these extra threads somehow put extra stress on your computer?  ...your brain?  If you don't like Mastercoin, don't read them.  WTF?

824  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Coinbase steals and profits off customers via high risk transaction scheme on: November 09, 2013, 04:26:36 PM
I encourage people to file complaint with Better Business Bureau in CA.
that's hilarious.  Don't you know the BBB is the biggest scam of all?  You can 'buy' a good standing membership no matter how awful your history.  BBB is a raging lie.
825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A mechanism for voting on changes in Mastercoin protocol on: November 09, 2013, 03:22:34 PM
Proof of Stake is not the way. The creator of Mastercoins has too many Mastercoins to allow Proof of Stake to work.
OK - so some moron who has just 1 MSC gets as much voting power as JR?  Brilliant.

I am going to divide my 1000 MSC onto 1000 addresses so I have the most vote and I am going to vote that Luckybit be excluded from all further proceedings.

'Proof of Stake' - favors those with a greater stake.  WTF is complex about that?  JR doesn't even have 33% any longer.  If fact, I think his present voting position is too low.  I think he should be CEO with absolute veto power.  Committees tend to really screw things up. Debate and compromise destroy every well laid plan.

I am very worried about guys like LuckyBit trying to wrestle into more power than is warranted.  Let's give everyone an IQ test and weigh their vote pro rata with shares by their intelligence.  That will safely neuter his big ideas.
826  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Clearing up 10 Misconceptions about the Mastercoin Protocol on: November 08, 2013, 07:43:08 PM
The Mastercoin Open Source Project has been moving so quickly For more information visit, http://www.mastercoin.org/
Good to learn your view of these points.
827  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: COINBASE IS A BUNCH OF THIEVES. on: November 08, 2013, 06:48:43 PM
My lawyer lives next door.
I just wanted my coins at the price I ordered them at.

Tell your lawyer next door that you'd like to be the 'lead plaintiff' in a 'class action' suit against a financial company backed by $6million from Silicon Valley.

It will cost you $350 filing fee to initiate this action.

I'll bet Coinbase will re-instate your order in one hour if they even think your lawyer will listen to you for five minutes.

If Coinbase is really running this scam - it is the VERY END of another big exchange due to mismanagement.  WTF?
828  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: COINBASE IS A BUNCH OF THIEVES. on: November 08, 2013, 06:39:25 PM
They fucking cancel my transactions every time the price goes up.
I specifically emailed them and told them NOT TO CANCEL MY MOST RECENT TRANSACTION.
YOU know what they did?! they cancelled it anyway just to make a profit.
Don't do business with them, they're a bunch of crooks.

This will result in a class action lawsuit in just a few more days.  It will be very easy to subpoena their records and learn whether these 'security detections' occur more on orders where BTC value increased than where BTC decreased.  If coinbase is keeping value more on the increases to their customer's disadvantage - they will surely be held liable and have to pay.

Coinbase will be shut down in less than one week if this is true.

Lawyers love these kinds of cases because the underlying money amounts are huge.  I hope a shark attorney goes after them right away.  This kind of crap shouldn't be happening at an established firm like CoinBase.

Who is the leader at coinbase?
829  Economy / Securities / Re: Invest your bitcoins in the new Cryptocurrency Investment Fund - 1000 SHARES on: November 08, 2013, 06:31:06 PM
Investment scams..Cheesy
And bitcoin folks don't want regulation - hahahahaha.  Regulation is needed in bitcoin more than anything else.
830  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitShares and Mastercoin - a comparison on: November 08, 2013, 04:04:02 PM
I don't see having to stumble upon a thread within an extremely limited window of time in order to get to buy some Mastercoins as elegant at all
'Stumble upon' - just like in school, I was doing my homework and you were smoking your bong.  Now the man who drives the trash truck hates me because my wife is pretty and my house is big.

clever trick but maybe just as sleazy

Calling JR sleazy for the Mastercoin launch is ridiculous.  What a freaking crybaby that you didn't participate until everyone else informed you about how important the project was.  You act as if JR concealed information in an obscure thread.  The opposite is true - he paid everyone to tweet about the project in every forum imaginable.

Morons like you deserve to miss the boat - and miss it again is your fate.  You'll spend the rest of your life crying about how the others unfairly got ahead of you when instead you should be doing your homework.

Now wise up.

MSC is at an insanely low price today.  Five years from now you can have 20 million dollars if you just make a modest investment in MSC today.  You are in this deal at a VERY early stage.  So get in it.  Get in it and stop crying about yesterday.

Or, you could just sit there crying and bitching about how unfair everyone is.  And 5 years from now, you'll still be driving your trash truck telling your neighbors how you should'a-could'a bought MSC years ago.

Now crack open your piggy bank and get in there: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApGPLGUd5ZCzdHFxbnhHQjBDSDVKamY5UHlWdkNMNWc&usp=sharing#gid=0

...or, just keep bitchin' and blaming JR for cheating you out of your due.  Idiot.
831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MasterCoin: New Protocol Layer Starting From “The Exodus Address” on: November 08, 2013, 03:13:22 PM
You guys might be interested in this post I made on another thread about the criticisms that the intial distribution of Mastercoins was unfair:
I what regard do they consider it unfair?  Everyone who participated did their homework early, studied the problem and solution, decided to commit, paid their funds, received MSC.

Anyone who alleges 'unfair' should explain why they believe this.  They had equal chance of putting up their bitcoin to join the effort - no?  They were late - so now that is unfair?  Even JR paid for his shares.  Many start-ups originate with shit-tons of 'founder shares'.  Not here.  JR paid the same as I did.

What the hell was 'unfair' about the distribution?  It not like tons of MSC was given away to underserving parties.

From the day after closing - you could buy as many MSC as you like.  It's called an 'open market'.  Fair market value prices are set by those willing to part with their shares.

Nothing is more fair than the MSC distribution.

Hello current American bitcoiners,
Probably nothing says 'dead on arrival' more than this wonderful bit of work.  Hahaha.
833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The collective Mastercoin-explorer, Mastercoin-ruby and Mastercoin-wallet topic on: November 08, 2013, 12:19:32 AM
Ugghhh!!

I got as far as this page:

Quick start

Download it, run it to extract it somewhere (permanent). Then cd to it, run “ruby dk.rb init” and “ruby dk.rb install” to bind it to ruby installations in your path.

Questions

Questions from the end user: I downloaded DevKit as exe file, unpacked it. Should I place it to some permanent location and then run installation scripts or I can simply run installation script and then delete the unpacked DevKit folder (in a second case I assume that this script injects DevKit into Ruby installation in some way)? – the answer to this question should be placed in first lines of installation guide as it is very important.

Answer: The file should be in its permanent location before running “ruby dk.rb init”.

where is the permanent location?  ...so I chose one.  Then how does one run “ruby dk.rb init” and “ruby dk.rb install” I can't find anything in the directory which could be run that looks like this stuff.  How do I run "ruby dk.rb init"?

So now the whole damn thing is unusable because Ruby set up instructions are so vague.
834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Israel Think Tank on: November 07, 2013, 10:56:06 PM
The complaints about the distribution model also seem to assume that the party is over now that the early investors are up ~30x. I personally do not think that is the case. I believe the party has barely begun.

There was a day, long ago, when those who held Google shares realized they were ~30X up.  Some of them were giddie with joy and they squirmed in their seats because of this good fortune.  Others realized that was nothing compared to that which would soon come.  But the future is hard to see and bring into focus.  So those fools sold and took their 30X - thinking they were quite happy.

Google is a very boring search engine.  It really isn't much at all.

Conversely, Mastercoin is (will be) a remarkably powerful financial system which will enable enormous function which will have serious impact on banking and commerce.  Mastercoin is far larger than Google.  Who would sell now at ~30?  I can't understand that.
835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Israel Think Tank on: November 07, 2013, 05:36:36 PM
next time please choose a profesional location  Roll Eyes
Is that what a 'tank' looks like in Israel?  A tank of thinkers?  Why does everyone look like their underwear is too tight?
836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MasterCoin: New Protocol Layer Starting From “The Exodus Address” on: November 07, 2013, 05:06:06 PM
Please excuse my ignorance. I looked into Mastercoin a while ago but I couldn't figure out how exactly to receive them. Do I keep them in a bitcoin wallet? Does the wallet have to only hold mastercoins in it?

Is there a good resource with this information? Sorry again for the newbie post, I'm just not a techie and I think mastercoin is pretty neat.

Any bitcoin address, whether it has bitcoin or not will hold Mastercoin nicely.  However, if you ever want to send those Mastercoin on some day, then you'll need to put at least a tiny amount of bitcoin on that address too to pay for mining fees.

I think it is sensible to keep two addresses - one for Mastercoin and a separate one for bitcoin.  These addresses are pretty cheap (excruciatingly free and plentiful) - so why not keep them separate?

One nice trick is to use vanitygen to make addresses with 1MSC... and 1BTC... to remind you what is what.  That only takes about .5 seconds to generate so it is fast and easy.  Downloading vanitygen isn't very hard - and running it is pretty easy too.
837  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Mastercoin! on: November 07, 2013, 03:12:17 AM
What's up with all the Mastercoin spam in this subforum?  Can you guys try to be a bit more respectful of the other projects and not start a new thread for every single subtopic?  I just counted 19 so far.  I understand you're trying to grow your "mindshare", but it's becoming annoying to even visit here.
These threads serve a lot of people doing interesting things.  It'd be a real shame to temper enthusiasm just because you personally are annoyed with the topic.  Maybe the admin wants to start a dedicated forum space to Mastercoin so you can look at all the developments which are not Mastercoin related.  Whatever.
838  Bitcoin / Project Development / Total Market Capitalization of MSC = $18Million on: November 07, 2013, 01:54:44 AM
Today was a good day for BTC price at all time high of $272.  Similarly, this means Mastercoin also peaked today.  I figure 660,000 MSC * .1BTC/MSC * 272 $/BTC = 17.8M$!  Awesome.
839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MasterCoin: New Protocol Layer Starting From “The Exodus Address” on: November 07, 2013, 01:14:05 AM

Haha yes indeed Smiley  I can code both but I chose VB and not C# just because I've more experience there - it's fairly trivial to move it over to C# so I may do so in future if the wallet gets much visibility to help others contribute.
VB totally rules!  More people will be able to use it and join the efforts.  Forget about C#.  Smiley
840  Bitcoin / Project Development / Tool for sending MSC on: November 07, 2013, 12:31:36 AM
I need to send Test MSC.  Since this is not valuable, I don't need Maxmint to escrow.  But, which GUI can I use to do this?  Zathras?  Tachihoma?  Bitoy?  Is there a link to this tool yet?
