821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: RE[ANN] Saturncoin [SAT] - Fast - Fun - Secure - With purpose ● Official Thread on: April 14, 2014, 07:53:42 PM
If we are doing a hardfork soon, I'd say get it all done at once so no other changes are necessary in the future. Lowering the coin cap to 10 billion from 15 billion as it is now will only help the coin - having billions and billions doesn't do much to help a coin. 10 billion or lower is a good number for a crypto currency in terms of mainstream adoption.

A hard fork is not only necessary - it's inevitable once in a coin's life to enable greater integration and adoption. Might as well get everything done in one go.

I suggest brainstorming for additional technical changes and updates, so that we can get it all done at once.

Discuss.

Halving just kicked in. It will be interesting to see what happens now.

+1

It means less miner dumping - less supply. Should work in favor of raising this coin to its proper place.

824  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Tax Implications Of Bitcoin For U.S. Citizen With Non-Citizen Spouse on: April 14, 2014, 10:12:21 AM
Tax evasion is a serious crime. This is a common ploy by someone whose spouse isn't a US citizen - but if an IRS audits you, it can mean trouble.

Tell her to stop trying to be clever and try to find tax deductions instead.

829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the U.S. government meddle with BitCoin code? on: April 12, 2014, 11:20:29 PM
The weak link is always the human factor - as in, governments, the mob, or anyone else may not fully control the tech, but they can most definitely control the ones using it.

As far as real power goes, your tech won't save you from a five buck wrench giving you a new set of dentals.

Keep it fuckin real people. Also, the fuck are you doing saying 'US Government' when it's the chinese that's doing the most banning and hating on bitcoin since the time it got big?

Get your fucking priorities straight. All the knee jerk squealing and bitching about 'EBIL US GOVERNMENT' is fuckin pathetic, ESPECIALLY when you don't even bitch half as much on another government that's ACTUALLY squashing crypto and trying to grab the entire market by the balls.

Or maybe you are just that easily manipulated.

Here's the problem all start up crypto faces:

It's not an easy thing to come up with earth-shattering technical improvements.

Crypto is ultimately about how many people want to promote, push, and otherwise simply decide to use it. Currency is decided by both hard merits and swaying the sentiments of others by many different means, but ultimately it is a self-fulfilling prophecy in many ways: More use them, more it becomes viable, and so forth.

Think doge or other coins that defied all expectations.

Early start up crypto that is just gathering a following will always be a convenient object of unconstructive 'suggestions'.

In the end, it's all about how many people want it to succeed, simply because they wish it to be - either they are heavily invested, or are friendly with people running the coin and want to see wide range adoption of something they are involved in, etc.

So constructive suggestions are welcome - but to ask questions such as 'why doesn't this have this or that' or 'what makes this so special' is largely a moot point, precisely because along with dev team achievements, a coin is successful simply because more and more people decide to get involved in it.

Crypto is still in its early stages. It's is irrelevant to point out 'weaknesses' of 'what's so special' when everything more or less depends on people getting involved to spread its acceptance in wider community - irrelevant, because it's a currency that exists and has value BECAUSE people use it. Technical and spec merits are but a part of the equation. Saturncoin is basically an entry-level coin that is both more reliable and faster than top 2 coins (bitcoin and litecoin).

Therefore, it is somewhat necessary for people to act in the interest of the project and set aside the 'criticisms' which are not constructive for the project. Do you think bitcoin would have come so far if they allowed protesters and hecklers screaming at the top of their lungs IN their office on a daily basis?

Dev team is working hard on this coin, and they have already stated that they are considering technical 'upgrades' for this coin in the future.

In the future, let us consider lifting the restrictions - but right now this is good for the project. I am sure the dev team is capable of differentiating between relevant, constructive suggestions and either moot point posts or outright trolling antics.

Saturncoin should take in people who are looking to invest after the great BC rise Smiley

Reduction of the box in 2 days, the community is moving, only 9 of Cryptsy TBTs stop us. Support will go shopping soon.

Foundation activities expanding, with more projects and integrations on the way. Block halving in 2 days. Market conditions favorable. Possibly technical improvements and more dev surprises this coming week.

Saturn coin should reach its rightful value of over 200 satoshi.

This coin, backed by an official foundation and with real world causes and integrations, has a great deal of potential. It's all about how hard supporters are willing to raise and improve a coin that makes a crypto valuable.

We should see a good rise in the following days.

If the chinese news about NOT banning bitcoin is to be believed, we are on the up swing for BTC prices.

It's good to see ALL the pieces falling into place so quickly. It's as if bitcoines return triggered something Smiley

838  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where is the money going to come from to rally bitcoin? on: April 05, 2014, 01:45:57 AM
With a little more time for regulations and government policies to solidify in term of bitcoin, we can definitely envision main financial players and wall st. types jumping in.

That's where the money will come from.
