821  Economy / Services / Re: BiPolarVPN - Free VPN service! on: October 20, 2014, 05:10:51 PM
I am using Zenmate... Working fine have 5 IPs (Germany, USA, UK, Hong Kong, Switzerland).. Although there are some more best free VPN available for use such as Tunnelbear, GetUKVPN, CyberGhost (Offering premium service as free) etc check out list here http://www.bestvpnservice.com/blog/best-free-vpn-services

You would be safer using Bob's vpn that those sketchy, free offerings all over the web.
822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Mintpal / Moolah Scam - 5,200 BTC Now Missing!!! - Report Missing Funds on: October 20, 2014, 02:47:52 AM
I'm wondering how many others are involved. The employees were not aware of what was going on? They only come forward now. BS.

Authorities need to round up all of them and get answers.
823  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Want a google voice number even if you live ouside the US? on: October 19, 2014, 06:12:11 PM
Got two accounts.

They work very well.

Calling is free for US/Canada.

Excellent for Canadians.

Highly recommended.

edit:   I'm not sure about using a non US number or another non US gmail account  for verification purposes.  Gmail might catch on to you.
824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Mintpal / Moolah Bankruptcy and Missing Coins - 412 BTC Reported Missing on: October 18, 2014, 05:03:03 AM
Can anyone update me on wtf is going on with Mintpal? Are they shutting down? Thankfully I only have some low amounts of alt coins on there...

And is anyone able to withdraw their coins yet? Any withdrawal addresses I'm putting in are not saving.

Coin withdrawals have been working. I'm still waiting on cinni.

Btc looks really bad. I'm worried they are stalling and the btc is long gone. I was unable to withdraw btc while the site was operational and there is no sign of it anywhere. Not a lot in my case thank goodness.
825  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Angry threat from BitStamp. Put myself in danger or they'll steel my money. on: October 18, 2014, 04:53:04 AM
Bitstamp's public statement regarding verification was unsettling. Are they trying to chase business away?

Being verified does not secure your funds. They can revoke verification anytime they like for whatever reason. It's their sandbox. I've danced this dance elsewhere.

I feel for the OP. Its a case of "swallow pride" or lose money I guess.

I did not recognize many coins by their symbol on the Blocknet PDF so here is a list in order of market cap.

Xcurrency
Bitswift
Librexcoin
Shadowcoin
Stealthcoin
Next-Horizon
Fibre
Sonicscrewdriver
Utilitycoin
Apexcoin

Some of these coin names are ridiculous and seriously need to be changes.
Dr. Who, Sonic Screwdriver, really?

Actually, sonicscrewdriver changed the name to just "sonic". Not sure why it is listed here with old name.

This list of coins is fairly respectable.  Would be nice to see some the older, more established coins on there too. We will see.

Bargain basement prices. I don't know why.

828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Moolah/Mintpal V2.0 Scam Thread on: October 16, 2014, 06:19:16 PM
How have you managed to request the withdrawal?

There is a withdraw submit form on mintpal.com.
There are no buttons...

http://awesomescreenshot.com/0f93o9g01c

That is the form. Enter your coin addresses and press "update".
Everything that I put in "Withdrawal Status" is voided when I press "Save changes". I can only write some text in "User Notes", it is saved.

That is not good. Maybe try logging in with another browser and trying again.
The same.

They are probably swamped. I would not worry. So far, they have been on the up and up. I'm still waiting on btc.
829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: October 16, 2014, 06:10:28 PM
... The xnode mixer anon is the cornerstone of XC. when it arrives you better have 1k XC in your wallet cause the whole blocknet will try it out. And who knows what coins have joined at this point. hope some oldschool alts gona see this potential and include the Xbridge. the Xmixer will be a money printing machine.

Can you repeat that, please ?  Grin

Shush.

Wait till my buy order fills before saying such things. Wink

Firefox + Tor

Hopefully, you are aware of the dangers of using Tor for accessing https sites including your bank and coin exchanges.

It has taken a couple of hours but my withdrawals have been processed. Everything but a bit of btc.

834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Moolah/Mintpal V2.0 Scam Thread on: October 16, 2014, 05:25:33 AM

seems like game over.
gox, mintpal, moolah, coinmarketio, coinexpw, cryptorush - so far 6 scammy exchanges dropped away with users cash.

Which one is the next?

Don't forget Vircurex. Oh right. Vircurex is paying back the "lost" funds. Users may see their money back in a hundred years.
835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keeping your butts safe on: October 15, 2014, 04:08:13 PM
I'm not sure if the general population is tech savvy enough to handle bitcoin wallets. Security proofing their machines, backups, and linux can be challenging for the non-nerd.

I think the cloud is the best solution. Blockchain and Coinbase and pretty good now but still need to improve. Professionals are better equipped to safeguard bitcoin than the mainstream computer user.

Eventually, these big players will have gold plated insurance and pay interest on deposits.
There we go; back to traditional banks. Maybe my local bank will handle my bitcoin like they do my fiat in the future. I can see them jumping on the bandwagon if they cannot squash it entirely.

836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tor+Blockchain wallet hacked? 633 btc loss on: October 14, 2014, 09:49:55 PM
Spend the money and use a good VPN service.

Don't trust Tor with finances. Tor is fine for anonymity but not security.

Sorry for your loss.
837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Moolah/Mintpal V2.0 Scam Thread on: October 13, 2014, 08:01:26 PM
My btc withdrawal " canceled ". Still not showing up in my account.

Too many people jumping ship? Is this intentional?

What was the matter with V1? Why fix when not broken?
838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT] Mintcoin Community Podcast Release - October 5th Introducing Minty! on: October 08, 2014, 05:39:30 PM
I'm going to hang in there with Mintpal for awhile.  All my funds are accounted for after the switch.

I know I should have removed them before the changeover and I felt a little sick when they were offline for so long.

Volumes are picking up and  * no trading fees * are an incentive.
839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] QIBUCK COIN - X13 - POS/POBH - 1st Proof of Baghold and asset backed. on: October 04, 2014, 07:18:43 PM

Qibuck coin is a high risk investment without a doubt. I was not impressed with IPO funds being used for trading other coins. Even the whale/backer/professional trader person gave up and sent the 10 btc back. Obviously, the trading went bad or he pocketed profits for himself. No way of knowing without accurate bookkeeping.

I may be wrong, but I think that whale trader guy had some stuff going on in his life, so he didn't have time for crypto things -- not that things turned sour or he took the profits for himself. Remember he also donated a lot of QBK to folks during the 2nd round of payouts last month too.

Just to put the record straight..JT only stopped trading the main account because of personal family health reasons and he still is staking our HYP coins for us.

As for the 10 btc most of it was sent to me, minus the HYP he is staking on behalf of QBK BTC   8.58780729   2014-09-20.05:57:11   COMPLETE
Now all the QBK we bought minus 2 btc I bought hashlets with which are all now merged in one account with our Miner is now in the new trading account.. There were several of us trading and buying hashlets over the last month.

Also MOVING house and country is NOT CONSIDERED A HOLIDAY in my books and I only took literally 48 hours to take 3 flights across the Atlantic..The flights themselves took over 24 hours and the next day I had a migraine from exhaustion and was taken by my dad to the local doctor to be given a migraine injection..that was a really lovely holiday and the next day I was straight back to work on my dad;s internet for 10 days before we got our internet on. As far as freedom of speech is concerned like we said constructive criticism and asking legit questions is fine, we just have a right to ask people to be polite and not trash our coin, thread and team. Yes there is freedom of speech but with freedom comes responsibility. If you want to come and insult us we are not going to sit back and just take it and allow our Team to be bullied, sorry but if people want to be free to insult us they can do it anywhere you are allowed but not on OUR THREAD.   At the end of the audit month we will make screenshots of the wallets we hold etc so everyone can see the wallets.

Yes as far as the asset sheet is concerned, perhaps I could have made a more intricate one but with my limited time in
a. trying hard to make the coin survive after the initial fudstorm, b, earning money for the bagholders, c. emigrating to another country and d. trying to keep everyone up to date and happy and build the coin has not been an easier task at all. I hope we can make a better account now and in the future.

You should try to keep this more business like. Personal stories and defensiveness, are not helpful.

Is this a business or a platform to share your personal details? I appreciate the fact, you have shared your identity for the purpose of credibility but need we know about your headaches and doctor's appointments? Really?

I should have worded my post differently. I'm sure this person is sincere.

I was trying to point out the risks of poor bookkeeping.
