821  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN - Time to buy? Time to sell? on: December 02, 2015, 09:27:06 AM
Guys,

Since the last peek of 500 USD few weeks ago, the value is stable around 350 USD.
Its changing on hourly basis, we saw it again 3 days ago.
What do you think need to be done now, lets take 10 BTC as example.

Sell the 10 BTC for the current value - as the price is going to crash
Keep the 10 BTC and fund t buy another 10 - as the price is going up soon

What do you think ?

Don't sell. No one can predict how and what can happen with the price of bitcoin. If you will sell exist one probability (may be big and may be few, no one can know that) that you lose all your bitcoin if the price don't go more down than it is. Even if the probability may be very few, exist. So better hold than risk. If you don't sell you for sure will have your bitcoin. For sure. They will have big value with big probabilities, beginning the next year (after halving). Don't consider bitcoin as a "tool" to bring profits in short time. This is a wrong approach about it.

The only thing that can break this rule is a sure investment with it. But must be sure. I lost some bitcoins in such kind of way because thought that the investment was sure. But wasn't such. Told this example to give the importance of being "sure". It is sure when you are convinced 100% that your bitcoins cannot be lost. Otherwise only hold and try to find more. Or better to invest in new cryptos which can have future. See and evaluate their data, their philosophy, their support and their plans. Naturally of the owners. Are risky but the earnings (if does everything ok) can be colossal. Much more than the game sell/buy which cannot be predicted in any way how can be.
822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What excites you the most about bitcoin during this year? on: December 02, 2015, 09:08:23 AM
Do you already have something to share about the best of bitcoin during this year?

I am excite for two things. The first is the stability of the value of bitcoin during the first ten months of this year. Hope that this might be a sign of its more being mature as a currency. The more being mature mean for sure more spread and more faith from everyone. Bitcoin will be more known and will be more accepted and used by new and more people all around the world. Then the second one is its behavior during the last "bubble". We have see the rose of price of it for about 100% and the lowered of it for about 50-70%. This second act is yet in process so cannot be sure about the verification of it. But if verified mean another achievement for bitcoin and for its followers. I am talking about its not going at the initial point before the "bubble". Is this fact will be verified (as it is going "the story" until today) this mean that the increase were made not only by speculators and a probable euphoria but because there were new demand on the market (added to the old one). This mean the spread of it is a fact and first of all, verification of the theoretical theories that more demand bring higher price. This is sure and very old knowledge for the centralized currencies but very new for the decentralized ones. This verification increase the hopes of bitcoiners that every kind of monetary theory true for the centralized currencies is true even for the decentralized ones. If this is true them may do big dreams about their bitcoins and their value in the future.
823  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: A new home miner! have a few questions, kindly somebody help/advise??? on: December 02, 2015, 08:53:23 AM
Hi! I am setting up a home mining unit for which i needed advise.

1. How many ASICs should i begin with to generate minimum revenue?
2. Which ASIC is the best to buy?
3. How much approximately can I earn with 1 ASIC (lets say with 1 spoondoolies SP20 jackson)?
4. How many ASIC can I run on 1 computer?

all response are highly appreciated. Thanks Smiley

You don't tell what you will mine but I guess that will be bitcoin. My suggestion it will be: don't mine. Cannot be made any kind of calculation to give answer to your questions. And not only to those but to every kind of question made about mining of bitcoin. Everyone who will give other answer differently from above can consider all the factors but cannot know the most important one of those: the difficulty. No one can know such factor. So cannot be calculated any kind of probable sure or even near sure profit. Can be made only guesses. If we add to this big unknown factor the very high price of every tool or hardware connected with the mining of bitcoin then everyone can understand easy that mining is more an adventure than an well thought investment. Cherry on the cake is the halving which will happen the middle of the next year. Halving mean the half of profit with the same power immediately.

With that money which you want to use for your mining investment is better to search for new or old cryptocurrencies or projects connected with cryptocurrencies who may have good future. Buy such cryptos and follow their value in market. This choice may have risk but cannot be sure loss like it will be the mining of bitcoin in our days. I am an old miner (myself and with cloud) and I can assure you that even before (I am telling for about three years ago), the earnings from mining were very few. Now i am collecting horizon (HZ) with the hope that one day this crypto will have better value than in our days.

Interesting. What must to do to understand those data. I guess that must be read the message but how is possible to do this? Must be some tool which can do this. Where to find it (if so)?

It is through time stamping.

Nothing understood but forget it. Maybe you have to do and not to explain me such things. At least can give something written in order I can read and understand everything myself.

827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will I recieve my bitcoin? on: December 01, 2015, 03:16:15 PM
First time buying a bitcoin. Downloaded bitcoin core. Bought a bitcoin off ebay. Made a receiving URL, and gave it to seller. Seller transfered it to the url I gave him. Yet when I open b.c.core there says there are no transactions, and my balance is still zero.

Why buy bitcoin in ebay? It is like to buy bread in a store specialized in clothing. Bitcoin can be bought in exchanges. It is true that ebay is for everything. And as such even for bitcoin. But even in my country in deep villages or areas there are stores who sell everything. Because of lack of consumers cannot is possible to be sold all the same things in separate stores for every specific product. That does not mean that even in the capital of the country where I live must be so. The same even for ebay. Can be bought there if it will be not possible to find bitcoin in their natural "store". Which are exchanges. From those everything is more easy to do, more fast and more professional.
828  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you wish you could buy with btc ? on: December 01, 2015, 03:04:45 PM
I saw someone mention some things about wishing they could buy gas and food with btc ...
I agree with them both, food especially.

So what about you guys ?
Anything that you wish you could buy with btc ? (legal things of course LOL Cheesy)

Firstly I would love to buy other bitcoin with my bitcoins. And I am doing this. What are you talking about - can tell everyone who are read these words. And I will answer: the truth. I am investing in bitcoin to have others of them. So, practically I am buying bitcoin without spending those but put them in work. Are working for me. Can be better?

Then I am buying (this time really spending those) HZ (Horizon) a cryptocoin very interesting for me because of the philosophy of the project which produce it. I consider this investment with medium-high risk but i like to be on it and will continue to be and to invest on it. Thats all. All the other remaining bitcoins are sleeping in my wallet.
829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How are the banks corrupting Bitcoin? on: December 01, 2015, 02:36:50 PM
i was listening to Jim Willie the other day, he doesn't know much about Bitcoin but he did say the banks will want "join it, infiltrate it, alter it and corrupt it"......before it gains any legitimacy.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sldUugfArNc&feature=youtu.be

So the question is what are the banks doing to do this if true. I personally see Etheruem as potentially a bank infiltration, I'm seeing getgems project infiltrated by Citi bank so am wondering how the banks are now or will attack Bitcoin. people like Blythe masters getting involved is another sign of intent. She was involved in Goldman Sachs in the area of deriveratives and manipulation of the gold market....now she has been given 30 million to go start a blockchain company......it can't have good intentions.

I think there are to much imagination here and (maybe) not facts. I haven't seen the video because it is hard for me to understand the spoken English but mainly because was very long. More than one hour to give thoughts about something that, according to me, it is only imagination. So the picture is that all the banks (must be the commercial ones) were make together (Huh?totally impossible thing Huh??) against bitcoin to "join it, infiltrate it, alter it and corrupt it"......before it gains any legitimacy." Why must do this? What have to do a bank with bitcoin. Especially a commercial ones. They love the money. Any kind of money. Because the money is their everyday bread. With money they earn the bread for them, for their employees and their families. Why hate a money named bitcoin?

As for various diversions everyone must find its place in this world. If bitcoin will be the best will have its place as the best. If not (even I am a lovers of bitcoin) must leave the place to the best and take its place. This world is make in this way. Everyone fight to have a better place. Have anything strange here. If some other coin will become more successful than bitcoin, then bitcoin must "shake its hand" and congrats with it for its success. Then try to improve itself to go again at the first place. There where must be forever for being the first of its race. And the first materialized product of a tremendous disruptive technology named peer to peer.
830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What can you say about Anti Bitcoin? on: December 01, 2015, 02:13:46 PM
While the price of bitcoin get higher the fee also getting higher and while time past by bitcoin confirmation getting slower
anti bitcoin start for bitcoin to have some alternative because of its highly manipulated price and also bitcoin is already crowded so i think using alternative is needed for it to run smoother for me anti bitcoin will not become one competitor of bitcoin but it will just become supporter of it until bitcoin transform into what it was intented to be. if youve been left out in bitcoin before if the takeover will become succesfull maybe this will be your second chance

right now anti bitcoin dev is inactive so we are planning for take over :
if you want to join anti bitcoin team : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1271965.0
anti bitcoin thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1212951.0

First time I hear about this strange thing. As I read they use the same technology like i used for bitcoin to produce this kind of coin. So have no meaning to name it anti bitcoin. Are the same product. Have the same "genes". Where is the anti bitcoin here? If will have problems, will have the same problems of bitcoin. They pretend that bitcoin is manipulated by some whales who have big quantities of it. Maybe is so. Maybe they will improve the distribution of their coin. And what? I cannot understand all this hate for bitcoin. Only because is owned by a little group of peoples. Then hate them but not bitcoin. It is the same like hate us dollar because Bill Gates is billionaire.

But who hate even them? Bill Gates has earned its money working. The same the people who have to many bitcoin. They dare and risked at the beginning with this unknown thing named bitcoin. The time gave them right. Now them are rich because of theirs action. Have not stolen nothing to no one. Why hate them? I think it will be better to respect them. If the team of anti bitcoin one day will be rich what will do? Will give all their cryptocoins earned with their work to the others for free?
831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What did you buy on bitcoin black Friday? on: December 01, 2015, 01:18:31 PM
I bought a shirt, a cutting board, jewelry , and a gyft card.  Hopefully the merchant list keeps growing.

I bought nothing. Or to tell the right I bought Horizon (HZ) at Poloniex. Horizon is a fantastic cryptocoin which is product of a project with a philosophy which like to much to me. Is counted this as a bought? To buy money? Wonderful thing. I am buying Horizon almost every day all the last week. Few amounts but few after few are becoming an interesting amount. I like this project and feel pleasure when buy such cryptocoin. Hope that all the projects connected with this cryptocoin have big success. In this way my little investment made this last week will worth much more. So one of the next black Friday in the years to come I can spend the Horizon bought this black Friday but doing crazy things together with my family.
832  Economy / Economics / Re: Greece told to do more on reforms before it gets next bailout payment on: December 01, 2015, 12:49:37 PM
European leaders are at odds with Athens over protection for families at risk of losing their homes because of mortgage defaults

European leaders have told Greece that it must do more to prove it is pushing through the reforms its creditors have demanded before it can receive a €2bn (£1.4bn) aid payment.

The debt-stricken country has been at odds with its lenders over the protection it can offer families at risk of being made homeless because of mortgage defaults.

Greece clinched an €86bn bailout in the summer, in return for promising measures to reduce its deficit such as higher VAT rates and pension cuts. Its lenders have also demanded new laws to help banks repossess homes from people who cannot meet their loan repayments.

The new sticking point turned the buildup to a key Brussels meeting of eurozone finance ministers on Monday night into a series of tit-for-tat briefings reminiscent of the height of the bailout crisis earlier this year.

Greece’s EU peers continued to lament the pace of economic reform in Athens, while the country’s leftwing government under the prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, has stood by demands for social safeguards for its citizens. On the contentious repossession rules, it wants more first homes to be exempt.

At stake is the release of Greece’s next tranche of aid from its third bailout. Athens spent the weekend trying to persuade its creditors that it had met the terms agreed this summer to qualify for the much-needed cash. Ahead of the Eurogroup meeting, however, it appeared they were not convinced.

Read more: http://www.theguardian.com/business/2015/nov/09/greece-told-to-do-more-on-reforms-before-it-gets-next-bailout-payment

It is the same story. The Government of Tsipras will continue with its demagogy. Tsipras is convinced that have persuasive superpowers and that can hypnotize everyone. So he is convinced that without doing what must be made in order to have the promised money, the European leaders, at the moment that will see him will remain fascinated by his face, will open all the vaults full of money and will invite him to chose the kind of money he will want and the amount wanted (again by him).

Then Tsipras will wake up and will remember all its story as a Leader of Government which make all the Europeans to see him and its ministers like aliens comes from another world during all the period of contacts with them. Then will remember the story of the referendum won by him and celebrate all night long from the Greeks which had as finish the sign by him himself of an agreement much more severe than it not accepted by him himself and the referendum celebrated by more than 60% of all the Greeks.

When will come back at Earth such kind of being? When will understand that the Greece is in sore straits and needed hard and again hard and continuous work to do? When will understand that is a big shame the situation in which the State and the Greek people are? When will understand that cannot be possible to live with the money of the others and being proud of this like mean all its behavior and the majority of Greeks? When will be conscious that to pay the others for the money given or are willing to give again only to help that country and that people needed to be made deep and structural reforms in all the areas of Greek economy and State? How is possible to be so dandy in its behavior when have a mountain of work, troubles and big problems to withstand?

Only him can do such things. Personally become every day more convinced that with him in power the agony of Greeks will be much more longest and harder. The others before him were liars or thieves but never so stupids like is this.
833  Economy / Economics / Re: China's New Reserve Currency on: December 01, 2015, 10:05:43 AM
The IMF today is including the renminbi as a global reserve currency.

Quote
The International Monetary Fund will today usher China's renminbi into the elite club of currencies that make up the organization’s basic unit of exchange. While being a component of the IMF's Special Drawing Rights move is a political plum for Beijing, it won't drive the internationalization of Chinese financial markets, which will turn on China's willingness to allow foreigners to invest in its largely insulated bond market.

The IMF’s top governing body is set to approve the inclusion of the Chinese currency into the unit of exchange, which the IMF uses to track its own reserves and holdings of its members, and is sometimes used by members for their own transactions. Over the past year, Beijing had pushed strongly for the change, which nominally puts it in the same category as the U.S. dollar, the British pound, the Japanese yen, and the euro.

“The near-term effects will be the increased prestige and standing of the Chinese economy and the recognition that China has become more closely integrated into the global economy,” said Bill Witherell, chief global economist at Cumberland Advisors.

Source: http://www.ibtimes.com/chinas-renminbi-joining-imfs-elite-currency-club-2203365

It's a little baffling to me how a centrally manipulated currency that pegs its value to other global reserve currencies could itself become a global reserve currency, but there you have it!

Good. Something waited from me. And it will be not the end but only the beginning. The most significant example and the most crushing fact that if the Government thing for the development of the country and the best for its people cannot exist other factor which can impede to be achieved everything wanted. Even being politically totally different from the developed countries.

About thirty years ago China was a poor country without any voice in the world scene. The life there was very simple and all the Chinese people was nurtured mostly (to not tell only) with rice. But the Government of that time worked for the today's days. And China did it. Even with the story of Tien An Men in the nineties or the being a state with only one political party. China now compete only with United States. And United States are obligated to enter in discussion with China about the behavior in their specific areas of interests.

I don't think that China can be, even for more, more time, world leader as the USA are already. But that always will be a factor (and every day more) which must be considered by every country with big attention. USA included.
834  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe in Crisis on: December 01, 2015, 08:50:39 AM
There is report  of independent european economist saying if EU zone will continue his financial policy EU will crash in 2017

Today  Carl Hainz Juncker said if Schengen will fail  Euro will  crash, like a answer is we have to stop defend Schengen we need to focus to defend Euro

Both Schengen zone and Euro  are to biggest EU project,Euro cant exist without Schengen

EU is not able to deal with refugee crisis,  Caltalonia  independence, terrorism,Ukraine and Russia,Greece,Italy

so looks like some crash on horizon

I don't think so. United Europe is a project more than 65 years old. So things are made very slowly with the aim to do everything in the right way. Any from EU members understand clearly that together are and will be always more stranger and powerful that being lonely. The problems exist in any country. Independently from its sizes. The division and the disintegration of EU cannot solve nothing. Only will increase all the problems for every single country which actually is within this area. This fact is known by every member of EU and all them are responsible people. They will work to solve together all the actual and the future problems. Which will exist always. Of any kind. But that cannot be able never to disintegrate such enormous and fantastic project named Eurozone.
835  Economy / Economics / Re: When do you buy Bitcoin ? on: December 01, 2015, 08:28:53 AM
Just wondering when everyone buys bitcoin, weekly, monthly or just on the falls?  thinking of setting up something regular to ride out the waves.....  Grin

I buy bitcoin every day a little. But has difficulties because here where I am is very difficult to find bitcoins with credit card. It is the preferred one from me. The other ways (transfer money, through bank account etc) seems difficult and need time and papers to be firmed every time you want to do something.

A new way to purchase Bitcoin and altcoins is coming to the UK market. It’s name is Coinerz. The platform allows anyone from the United Kingdom to use their credit card to buy various kinds of cryptocurrency. As can be seen, this platform do an offer very convenient for everyone which normally is not offered by to many other exchanges or businesses of this kind: the bought of bitcoins and altcoins with credit card. The creators say that will have a list of digital currencies which will be increased continuously. They have plans to go ever out of United Kingdom. Mainly in Europe. But is not told that cannot go even more. Who want more info (OP included) or can be interested can read the full article here: http://bitcoinist.net/coinerz-purchase-altcoins-bitcoin-ease/
836  Economy / Economics / Re: Passive Income on: December 01, 2015, 08:20:05 AM
Hello everyone.

When I first started studying marketing and business the first suggestion I received from some successful people in my niche was to first establish a source of passive-income. For some this is placing ads on their personal website or otherwise capitalizing on their hobbies (e.g capitalizing on your forum hobbies with signature campaigns), and for others this means developing a product or service-solution which manages and sells itself.

Passive-income sources should be thought of as an investment. Like any kind of asset, it can be analyzed to determine whether your time-input is sufficient for your income-output. For example, if it takes you X hours a week to post on forums and you make $X.XX... maybe it would be more cost-efficient for you to learn a trade-skill, or take on some over-time, or make YouTube videos to promote your personal website or hobby. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Whatever it is you do, whether you manage an online-store or you post on BitcoinTalk forums on your weekends, share your knowledge with us so we can all support each other.

Shalom aleichem.

Passive income is a good source of earnings especially when you have not to much time to work yourself on internet to make money (when you find possibilities who want work to have earnings). For this are very rare. Even more rare are those who can be treated as sure (because fully sure cannot have in internet; there is always the doubt of disappearance of the bankruptcy; this last case because of the specifics which have the doing business in internet). I think to have found a good source for passive incomes in internet.  Have almost 5 years internet life and 9 years internet development life. have more than 50 000 investors and more than 4 million us dollar investments from them. Has withdrew more than 6 million us dollar. Show the source of the profits and have in its website a sea of other data; any kind of data. I am part of this opportunity since almost one month and every day arrive at my account the everyday profit. Which is low but sure. The profit arrive always at the same hour and minute. I invested 1 bitcoin for test it but these days think to invest others. Who can be interested to give a look can PM me without problem for the reflink.

Working hard is also gambling... for your health and other factors... Grin Grin Grin

Working hard in something you like and give good earnings give immense pleasure and very good health. And have nothing to do with gambling which only ruin wealth, health, family and everything else important in life. Make exception only the case when you create addiction in both of cases. Because both cases need the same a doctor to be again safe.
838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for a living or a living for Gambling? on: November 30, 2015, 03:46:16 PM
If I can quit my job and have a lot of bitcoin. I would just do gambling for a living.

Because is fun you will just sit in the casino or in your pc and just play some dice, roulette, poker or other games.

That will be a dream job. Tongue

So you name a dream job being in front of a computer or in casino and lose your bitcoins? Where is the pleasure to lose money (or bitcoin)? I can't handle this. If were me at your place I will go crazy even with the loss of some bitcoins and not of this big amount of those like you mean to have (so big that can allow you to quit your job). How can be possible such kind of behavior? How can be possible to enjoy the lose of money? Totally strange people can be met in the life.
839  Economy / Speculation / Re: what is The reason behind new bubble in bitcoin price? on: November 30, 2015, 10:10:52 AM
I was reading somewhere that russia is going to ban cryptocurrency and people are predicting latest paris attack involves bitcoin transactions. All this thing should have lower the price but we are seeing steady rising curve on price.

What can be the reason of this?

You are giving to bitcoin something that it have not yet. The power to reflect various world happenings very different between those and with to much spread. But even happen in much different times between those. To remember even the fact that bitcoin has not ethics or something like that which can affect its price.

Russia has banned bitcoin time ago. Cannot be pretended that that decision made time ago affect bitcoin this month. Then to not forget that in Russia flourishes the bitcoin black market which circulate big amounts of bitcoin. Then the attack of Paris is something that has nothing to do with the price of bitcoin even if can be true that is used bitcoin for something (any kind of thing) involved on it. About 80-90% of all the amount of bitcoin in circulation is used in Dark Web. So for the bought of illegal things. That mean that the price of it will go (or must be) 10 us dollar one bitcoin?

Anyone who want that it must or can be used as more as it can be possible tell that bitcoin need cleaning. This process can be helped from its regulation and legalization. Only after this cleaning bitcoin can begin the reflection of such kind of happenings. In the time when those happen, if are important and not isolated or lateral events regarding it (such is the case of Paris) and just in time, not after months or weeks.
840  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Economists suggest small Bitcoin reserve on: November 30, 2015, 09:40:55 AM
Just came accross this (found on reddit):

http://www.nationnews.com/nationnews/news/74760/economists-suggest-bitcoin-reserve

Quote
...
The two, who have both served as head of the Barbados Economic Society and currently lecture at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, said once more participants like Citibank “continue to enter the market and support transactions via the blockchain”, “the counter part risks to smaller and highly vulnerable central banks, such as the Central Bank of Barbados, will be minimised”.
...

Likely to heppen?
I wonder what would be the 'small' amount in terms of Barbados.

If the wrong is seen in the blockchain and the transaction on it I disagree with the above. Blockchain has nothing to do with the power of Central Banks of every country. Blockchain will not replace the national currency which is managed by the Central Bank. Blockchain can help in the more fruitful managment of this national currency. Will help the commercial banks to have less costs in managing this currency. Blockchain cannot be used from the commercial banks to create other coins which can put in risk the national currency and decrease or put in risk the role of the Central Bank of one country. Have no power to do this (by law) and even no interests. The only Authority which can produce/create/stamp new money/currency in one country is the Central Bank (or the similar Authority of it) of that country. So, even in this way, any kind of risk cannot be seen.

It is another thing if we talk about bitcoin. Bitcoin, if not controlled, can ever "destroy" (put out of effective monetary policies) one Central Bank if we are talking about countries with weak economy or undeveloped ones. Bitcoin can put in risk even other important economies but that are in crisis. The most clear example is Russia which has banned it exactly for this reason. The fear from it, from its increasing power. But which was unable to do the people to leave or abandon bitcoin. In Russia the bitcoin black market have sizes which create concerns to the Russian Government. Not surprisingly one of the members of Russian Government propose to put in jail all those who have to do or use bitcoin.
