821  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason for acquiring bitcoins. on: February 11, 2024, 05:04:37 PM
Firstly Bitcoin itself is a currency just like every other currency but the thing with Bitcoin is that you are the one true owner of it as you can control it and own it privately and that's even outside the benefits that it brings when it comes to investment because another major reason of people owning Bitcoin is because of its ability to serve as a means of investment thereby possibly making those that adhere to the rules involved in using it as investment rich to certain comfort zone.
822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How my gambling life started. on: February 11, 2024, 04:58:03 PM
In years past before the casino and other online gambling bet platforms was discovered and brought to our knowledge, I and some family relatives used to play the card games but on the sequence some of us were becoming unserious in the game that it wasn't competitive so, we decided to have stakes with little amount of cents of $ which we could afford to loose just to buckle and cheers everyone up.
Time goes where we increases the stakes to make us more serious to the extend we began to bet about $1 which we can afford to loose at other expenditures but it seems unbearable loosing it on the caused of betting.
On a serious note, we saw this as a mere bet of competitions and not as gambling. As we advances, we saw it as a domestic gambling and not as the wild gambling that could cause one emotional outbreaks.

Time goes that it becomes unusual that we began to feel offenced and rebelled that we as relatives(1 family) are extorting from each other without empathy for one another and then, we unconciously grew wild developing in sentiments, greeds and taking it as an avenue to make profits.
Alongside, it was more of serious business than the just fun.

Then the casino and other online bet platforms was introduced in time. This was how I was exposed and my begining of gambling life!
Hmm this is different from how I got exposed to gambling. For me it was all about my family, and believe growing up in the street ghetto and having siblings that and cousins that are crazy, sometimes I wonder what has kept me in check when it comes to my social life because alot of persons I know are now chronic gambling and even drug addict but that's why they say if anyone changes it depends to some level on the actual person thinking and mentality. I was exposed officially to gambling during the days of my schooling although am familiar like yourself about the card and all other physical gambling but the gambling house just made it more extreme and many like myself couldn't survive the pressure and turned addicts to the act and till date I know of a few that are still fighting this habit.
823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do coaches get sacked over poor performance of players? on: February 10, 2024, 11:00:55 PM
I have followed various sporting activities and I noticed something that hardly make complete sense to me and that is the rationale behind firing a coach when the players do perform poorly. What drew my attention to this is a news flash about Jose Mourinho's case in Roma. According to the article, Mourinho left Roma angry and feeling betrayed by the players. Is it even possible that players will intentionally lose matches because they want their coach out at the expense of their own careers? If this is true, why will the club management reprimand the coach and not the players? I know some people will argue that the coach is the leader of the team and should be responsible for building the unity and love the team need to play in high morale, but in a case the players happen to have hated the coach and have decided to lose matches as punishment for their coach, is it right to fire the coach?

Once a former coach said that football in my area said, if the players' mood is bad then the coach must be blamed and if the players' mood is good then the coach must also be appreciated. This is a real thing, just imagine the team under Pep Guardiola and ten hag, of course the performance of Man City players is better, it's all because Man City players really respect Pep Guardiola as their coach.
A wise and respected coach is the key to a team's success, currently Alonso is in that phase, he is highly valued by Leverkusen players so Leverkusen's squad performance is very good this season.
The coach serves a very important role in the player performance and that's why it's believe that a coach and their player's aren't supposed to be having any issue at all because it can lead to the players being demoralized and even take up crazy decision like the OP made insight on the scene that transpired between Jose Mourinho and the Roma players and I believe similar cases have also being witnessed too.
824  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you have a hard time bringing new people to the forum? on: February 10, 2024, 10:45:14 PM
During the Christmas holidays, I traveled to different places and one of my main target was to introduce Bitcoin and this forum to as many people as I could. I did but it was not really as easy as I expected because at a point, I was confused on where to start and how to proceed. I wanted a way of shortening the entire process for them, knowing that not everyone will be patient to go through the complex and rigorous process of learning about Bitcoin and the forum itself as a newbie. When I was first introduced into this forum, I was overwhelmed by the workload, the rules, many things to learn and indeed the expectations from me as a newbie. I actually ran away, stayed for a very long time before I remembered I had to face the new task for which I signed up.

I picked myself up and proceeded and I consider that one of the best decision of my life. Today I'm more than motivated to help as many people as possible to grasp this whole things as I know the benefits are innumerable. I don't consider it enough to encourage them to read through the forum because I still remember how difficult it was for me as a newbie, so I'm challenged in my spirit that there should be an easier way to go about introducing the entire concept to newbies.

I don't know if any of you faced this challenge, if yes, how were you able to proceed?

You see, these are one of the reasons why many new newbies here are not following up the way others are because they lack the legit understanding about Bitcoin and the forum it self.
If you want to tell people about the forum you just have to make sure they know what to do and not teach them and domp them half way because they will not understand and that's why many newbies bare being tagged for posting trash.
But it's good to tell and teach people about Bitcoin as Bitcoin is now the talk of the day in various places. As you wanted to teach people about Bitcoin and the forum you just have to make sure they get the point and never keep them behind, so to do all this just make sure to keep spare time to teach them so that they can understand.
825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If I bet big I lose, but if I bet small I win on: February 10, 2024, 10:41:33 PM
Guys, do you often feel like me? when I raise the bet I lose and when I lower the bet I win. Does the casino system/algorithm know the betting patterns we make? So often when we bet big we are given a loss and when our bet is small we actually win, which is very annoying

I don't know if this applies to all games or not, but I feel like this often when playing table games. What do you think?
I am not too sure how certain this taught of yours is but I can say I have experienced such things sometimes when I decide to increase my stakes but most of the time the results is actually good as in I win the bet while sometimes I loose out on the bet so for me I think it depends on the period of time and how luck decides to treat you also but although their is this certain cautiousness that comes when you think of increasing your stake that's may sometimes make you be just be too careful.
826  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Matters Arising. on: February 10, 2024, 10:39:41 PM
Nah these same reason why e no dey good for person wey done old to dey gamble, even if them no bet on any of the team either the super eagles or South African football team. Penalty kick nah watin dey put many people (especially gamblers) for high tension so when person wey get high blood pressure dey watch am e fit also make em BP high. Nai make e better when person dey consider em health first before em do anything way dey em mind to do.
I no really believe this news sha because I never hear ram for any where except this our local board. But if incase na true, make their soul rest in peace.
One thing this country takes dey sweet nai be this AFCON competition, we just forget the big problem wey we get for the country and put our happiness for the AFCON. After this competition nai we go know our faths. But normally one thing way make this country dey sweet na as e be say we never lose any of the match these season and that one sef pass any other thing.
You talk true because person way get problems like BP no supposed to put all mind for games because the game fit no end well for am and e fit still cause problems just like how the people on the picture mentioned from the Op done already pass out.
However, I don't think that those stories are real because by now me and you for done hear am. Although this matter na really big one for how many people to die just because of the competition. Even if say this country na Holly pass just like everyone love each other's that one no go make people con go die just because of say the super eagles go for penalties kicks. Moreover we done already win that game and if trie say them done die which gain them get?
827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first Bitcoin on: February 10, 2024, 10:35:13 PM
Well compared to me this is actually a good start if you ask me because I remember when I bought mine, it was during the 2022 bear market that Bitcoin was low as 19k$ and since then the little I have accumulated and earn from signature campaign here too has also made a good start up but I don't ever store my coins on CEX because there is to certainty to what will happen when one day you wake up and find out the exchange has been restricted since you don't actually have the full access to the keys to your coins in these CEX.
828  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria SEC tag binance operations illegal on: February 10, 2024, 10:33:53 PM
Although binance is an exchange and we all knows that an exchange wallet are not secure for holding Bitcoin, when you want to sell you can make use of the binance app but it is mot advisable to store Bitcoin in exchanges.
The reason is already know to all of us that one day the exchange might crash and people money will lose and there is no one to be hold responsible for such.
829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How's problem gambling different from compulsive gambling. on: February 09, 2024, 05:51:13 PM
Gambling problems and compulsive gambling are like steps on a scary staircase. Problem gambler? You start losing balance then. Your betting habits may be stressing you out and draining your cash. Concerning, but there's room to retreat and restore control. Conversely, compulsive gambling is a fall from grace. Need now replaces choice. Life, relationships, and work are being pushed aside by gaming. Like any addiction, it's a monster
For me I feel the two are actually the same because it all involves a case scenario where the gambler can't control his/her urge anymore, the two things is about the gambler being addicted so why separate one from the other.
Quote
Avoid generalizing about slot gamers' quote. Undoubtedly, the odds favor the house. All slot players "long term losers"? That's dismissive and ignores gambling issues. Some play responsibly, recognizing the risks. It's about how you play and why, not winning or losing
Well slot is luck based and tell how possible is it that someone can actually make a strategic calculations to actually have a winning edge over the system program to actually make you get it all wrong and I believe if someone says that can really calculate the possible outcome then I would have to say that person is actually lying to himself because at the long run of everything the house always win except you are one lucky bastard that had it big with your winnings (luck).
830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taking a break in gambling on: February 09, 2024, 05:41:51 PM
How do you guys manage to take a break in gambling? I’m not asking for advice but rather I’m just interested to know what you are doing on your own or if you really do a break.

I recently decided to take a break since I want to hold my crypto due to its increasing value and I don’t to spend it while it’s giving me passive profit. I just claiming bonus now or anything that is free to still enjoy gambling without risking my money.

What is the instances that makes you take a break in gambling?

You asking this question in the first place shows that your mind is still there and believe when it comes to taking break with your gambling habit that decision is left for you alone and I don't think anyone can give advice on how to go about Because if you have weight the importance of you practically taking a break then you would understand that by yourself, it's highly imperative to do and you can use whatever means suitable for you to actually close up that gap that playing of gambling have in your normal schedules.
831  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How would normal Nigerian survive naira inflation on: February 09, 2024, 05:15:38 PM
For a while now, I just dey see this news about naira inflation and me I come dey reason how other other Nigerians wey no dey into crypto go use take survive this inflation, how are they going to store their value without having to bother about too much knowledge.

I know bitcoin would be the first option but many Nigerians don't know about bitcoin and even if they change to dollars its still suffering inflation too, wat do you think would be the fastest means that a common Nigerian man can store his monetary value.
First of all to survive na must so believe me ways must surely pop up and besides this na Nigeria, the most populous and industrious black nation in the world, we no dey two so forget about how people go take survive and believe me the Bitcoin way you dey call sef might not be the first instance to what people will use to guide themselves during this period so I am very certain that naija go still dey grove to the matter.

As of this time wey I dey write this post things don high like mad and the inflation and dollar increase don dey really get hin effect for the country but still on still things and life must move on as normal.
832  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Financial advise from a self acclaimed crypto investment professional. on: February 09, 2024, 06:04:13 AM
What do you think about this financial advice from a self acclaimed crypto investment professional telling newbies not to consider investing in the top 100 cryptos of which bitcoin is included, if they want to make profit?

It is actually funny that she will be giving that type of advice, I won't be surprised if on the next slide she's shilling a project she's the owner, partner or have already bought some bags and looking for exit liquidity. When I see advice like this what always comes to my mind is that the adviser is selfish and only wants to make money for himself. If she was wise she would have put all that money into Bitcoin and hodl. Give it 10 years or more and she will be happy she bought Bitcoin.

Most persons aren't all that patient, some of these see investor see investment as something that they can actually place a time limit on and that's why they don't or they choose to ignore an investment in Bitcoin. I can remember when I gave some colleagues of mine advice about how patient and stress-free an investment in Bitcoin can be, the funny thing is that they ignore the whole part about the investment being lucrative and stick with the part that requires them waiting and term it as a can't do and search for other alternatives that can give them the profit in a quicker but more risky way.
833  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: The uniqueness of love on: February 08, 2024, 09:19:48 PM
One would think with the level of exposure and time you have spent here looking at your registration date that you would have known better not to post such off topics here or even if you deem it to post it, there is always the off-topic board in the general interface of the community here where this particular trash you wrote suits very well
834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blue card to be introduced in football. on: February 08, 2024, 08:56:06 PM
With the rate at which many new rules have been added to football, it makes me wonder what might become of the game in the next decay to come because some of these new rules is totally unnecessary and one of them will be this issuing of blue card, I mean what's the essence of giving out blue card when there is red which practically serves as a good enough punishment for the defaulters of the rules of the game.

FIFA should atleast let go of some of the irrelevant rules and make due of important once that can actually impact positively on the game.
835  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The internet and crypto on: February 08, 2024, 08:50:23 PM

My advice na for peso to keep investing in crypto and don't give up on am because someday em go make you millionaire. This go be second wave of crypto wey go make people millionaires. The first wave happens in 2021 which I believe sae, many people miss am because of sae dem no believe in crypto or dem no hear of am
Actually I think this time na actually the third or fourth wave wey people wan get am clear from investing in Bitcoin, Bitcoin don reach or touch ATH like x3 now and anything way make am pass the price of 65k$ dollar at the price nai be say another ATH don reach be that and na only the actual investors nai go get am clear because no body fit reap where him no actually sow so the only thing now na to dey buy Bitcoin dey keep ahead of watin fit happen for the future.
836  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Tips to Avoid Scams on Cryptocurrency p2p Exchanges on: February 08, 2024, 08:40:52 PM
With the all the mentioned precautionary measure, the one take serious the most is not ever releasing your coins before the receipt of sent funds is confirmed, and I think it's also flagged everywhere in the exchange mostly especially CEX like binance. When trading your coins, you should carefully take not that before ever you release your coins one must first confirm if the sender has actually Sent the money if not you would be sorry for yourself because the trade at that moment when release will show completed where as you would most likely be at the losing end.
837  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy bitcoin now? on: February 08, 2024, 08:30:44 PM
Well I think this is practically the most preached event on the Bitcoin space and anyone who fails to buy Bitcoin don't really want to learn because I believe with all the past events and bull run that most new Bitcoin enthusiast missed one would think this is the perfect and Golden opportunity for them to buy and HODL it for the bull rull to come which I think have already started and although the movement is all that super fast but atleast the difference is clear that Bitcoin is making progress.
838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Selling a property to play gamble on: February 08, 2024, 08:24:19 PM
.

No matter how deep you are in gambling never you sell a property because you will surely regret it when it doesn't work the way you expected.

Have you ever sold a property to play gamble and afterwards finds it difficult to replace that same property again?
The moment you get a thirst of selling your properties, it gets stuck like a virus and it becomes really hard to stop and that's why I watch myself before I make such mistake. with what I have seen with friends doing it, I would definitely not like to see myself go down that lane and I think the closest I have gone for such act is when I used the money I borrowed someone to risk it on a single odd but at the end the results didn't favor me and from there I learnt my lessons.
839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: February 07, 2024, 05:52:01 PM
Proportionately both risk losing their money. Of course "gambling" without money include no earning or just "penny earning" Roll Eyes
Who should risk more? No one! Having "courage" take the "risk" these are all terms that must not be used in gambling since it simply increases the possibility of losing money exponentially.

But it also increases your chances of hitting it big time 😊. I personally don't believe that you can actually start small and then grow and then make it big in gambling, my direct approach to this is that if you won't win, you won't win and if you are gonna win , you are gonna win. I have this particular friend of mine that like playing crash games with little amount of money to as low as 0.06$ and whenever I see him engage in his gambling it just makes me wonder, I mean how long can you carry this out till you actually win something that you will content with.
840  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie, be careful of the Bitcoin information you process on: February 07, 2024, 05:46:15 PM
You can only get wrong information about bitcoin when you do your research from unreliable sources (website, social media, YouTube pages etc). When you research from a reliable source you don’t have to worry about a wrong information being given to you and you will be grounded with that information anywhere you go without having alteration with others. It is good to go for extensive research but by doing so, make sure you don’t collect information from unreliable sources, compare them with others to be sure that what you’re learning is legit.
I would like to think that one of the reliable places you are talking about will be this community, because the knowledge and directions this community holds is beyond comprehension.when you have low insight about a particular thing or project then the results you will get when you have decided to take part on this is just going to be negative and also just like you said even if the information is from the wrong source the likely possible results will all be false and the social media is a perfect place for such misinformations.
