821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 21, 2023, 03:44:58 PM
But according to the previous comments, I really thought that Mane has future in Europe for one or two seasons. There is no doubt that he is 31, but he looks energetic to be in competitive league for more 3 seasons.

I also did think he has a future playing in Europe. Personally, I’ve admired his gameplay and his energetic strides when with the ball. And I also think he still has the energy and the skill to play competitive football for perhaps 3 more seasons like you noted.
I wasn’t really surprised about the news of leaving Bayern Munich, I was surprised though at the move over to Saudi Arabia cause I thought he would have remained in Europe. He knows what’s best for him and if a move to Saudi Arabia feels right for him, he should take it.
822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 21, 2023, 02:34:05 PM
I think Man City has turned out to be a very strong team at the moment. Not only from the quality of the players and staff they have, but they also have a winning mentality and are certainly supported by healthy finances. So for this new season, I think Man City will remain the strongest favorite, but there is still a possibility for other teams to shift Man City's dominance. My guess is that Man United and Liverpool will be in close competition with Man City next season.

There’s still a possibility, even if a little for other clubs who have been prepping themselves and getting stronger to break the dominance Manchester City currently enjoys in the Premier League.
No doubt, they’re currently the best team in the EPL. From having some really good and talented players to having a manager who really knows his onions. Pep has really transformed the team and I think he influences players to generate and maintain a winning mentality to be able to be consistent in their match wins. Of course, having deep pockets would greatly impact positively on the fortunes of the club.
823  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I Use Emergency funds or Sell my Assets ? on: July 21, 2023, 02:13:34 PM
Emergency funds are what you must use if ever you're in immediate need. If you wanna sell your assets and you want to be liquid, you can sell them as well. You get the point why we're having assets and that's for us to have a cash flow whether we will gain through capital gains or through having a passive income out of it. But if that asset in generating income and you've got an emergency funds, don't sell the asset as it will continuously going to make you money and since you have a back up fund through emergency funds. That's all you need to have.

It would be more better to use emergency funds kept aside for why purpose, an emergency. You don’t have to include your assets. Assets bring in income and grows the wealth of an individual so I wouldn’t say it’s wise to let go of that property which generates income.
I would probably take a loan from family or the bank even to help sort out the emergency than to sell off my property that is sure to generate income. Selling off assets would be my last resort if all avenues to raise some money have been exhausted.
824  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: July 21, 2023, 01:53:07 PM
I particularly don’t agree that underdevelopment in certain countries are caused by overpopulation although overpopulation seems to be a common factor in underdeveloped and developing countries.
While bad governance from the government would always top the list on reasons on why those countries remain underdeveloped, literacy rate also is a key indicator on why any country would remain underdeveloped and overpopulated.

In a lot of places where there is little or no government intervention, unemployed people who go idle all day tend to mostly find the time to procreate with no little thought of the aftermath. Babies would be born into poverty and the cycle continues further increasing the gap between the wealthy and the poor.
Overpopulation could be a blessing to a nation as well as a major problem. It falls down to the government and also the people on how best to make use of the potential in Human Resources.
825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 21, 2023, 12:48:48 PM
Being a consistent club in defending titles is not easy, although I know for Manchester City it is not that difficult at the moment. But still, the ups and downs of challenge after challenge will complement each club's journey. With the club's spirit overhauling its squad proving they are serious about being a worthy contender next season. If you focus on the Premier League, there is no need to doubt the dominance of Manchester City, but the Champions League will be difficult to predict.

Manchester City may still have the push necessary to win and defending the Premier league title. Pep is an outstanding coach and despite having to let go of some good players in his squad, there is a very good chance of going ahead to win the league again. Champions league on the other hand, would be quite difficult but not impossible for City to defend the trophy.
While I think they could go ahead to defend the EPL title win, there are going to face some stiff resistance as there are other clubs that has made some really good improvements and would be equally as dangerous on the pitch. Manchester City may be having some sort of dominance in the Premier League, it may not last very long.

827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is Gamble gain more fans than Bitcoin? on: July 19, 2023, 06:50:49 AM
In the world to day gambling is leading instead of BitcoinBTC (crypto currency) and more are still wanting to join gambling because the minimum age to gamble is 18+ and lot of upcomings are waiting and this is the total amount of gamblers, so let's talk about the crypto currency (Bitcoin) we all know that Bitcoin is a good investment and it has changed a lot in the crypto world but the interesting part is that the numbers of Bitcoin investors can't be compared to gamble and my question is Why? or  is the risk involved in Bitcoin higher than gambling risk?
Just chesk this source

Several research creates the hypothesis which states gambling has been around for over 2300 B.C and a record of gambling marked on 600 B.C before the invention of minted currencies in Lydia in the 7th century.

This is only evidence that gambling has been around for ages, from the use of tiles in Ancient China to the use of dice in Ancient Greek, etc Gamble has been around way longer than bitcoin has and it's a scheme for quick money as the odds are mostly favorable. Whereas there are loses in gamble, people still tend to gain a lot from it. It might as well be a survival technique.

In comparison to Bitcoin which was only created few years back, it's only right majority of adults would likely be more invested in gamble than bitcoin, especially having little or no knowledge about Bitcoin.
828  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to grow the bitcoin you have? on: July 19, 2023, 04:37:37 AM

HAHAHHAHAH yes you have a good point gambling sometimes can grow your btc OP but the chance is 50:50  Grin Grin so I would never pick this neither you too OP.

Tho if you dont want to put your money into a centralized exchange then you can only HODL your coin and nothing else.

or you can search decentralized app who accept bitcoin as loan

Personally, I think there is a greater chance of losing out on your money when gambling. I see it more of a 65:35 situation in which the gambler has about 35 to 40 percent of winning.
Winnings from gambling could very well add up nicely to increase the btc in your possession and it could also and more likely eat up all the money used in gambling and in a bid to recover the lost coins, you end up losing even more. It would be best to stay away from this option

The best and safest way for me to acquire more btc is to buy whenever you can and hodl for the long run. Shortcuts schemes usually lead to more delays and sometimes, outright loss.
829  Economy / Economics / Re: Can CBDC users lose control of their money? on: July 19, 2023, 04:16:01 AM
Actually, fiat in cash/physical form is better than CBDC as a form of money. There are limitations but we can send it to anybody we want, it's peer to peer, and transactions made with them could be very private if you choose it to be. Cool

Cold hard cash is way better than these CBDCs as a method of making transactions. You could purchase whatever and the only people to know about the transaction would be you and the seller. Nice and private.
CBDC is literally government owned and backed digital currency. They are no different than the fiat being used, although fiat in its physical form gives more privacy than these CBDCs would ever give.
Just like an individuals bank account could be frozen along with the funds in it, users of CBDCs could as well lose control of their funds, perhaps even faster as they were never in total control in the first place.

830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 19, 2023, 03:48:20 AM
I just read the news about ronaldo claimed that if he was the main reason serie a gets back its popularity among the football fans again. He has said that if serie already dead once he was coming to the juventus, but he made serie is going up again and gained its popularity that already lost.
Do you guys agree with ronaldo's effect? The same thing is also happening when he was coming to the saudi pro league. More and more people were talking about SPL. SPL has become the most popular middle east league as for now.
It's quite difficult to say that if ronaldo doesn't bring impact to the league where he will be playing on. My main concern is ronaldo has biggest fan bases in the world. That makes sense if he said that if he was the main reason why serie a can survive till now.
It's caused by serie a way dead once he was coming tot he juventus. I do know that if his haters will be saying big NO for ronaldo's effect, especially messi fans.

The fact that if his supporter will always be folloing him where ronaldo will be going on. Ronaldo's effect is real to me.

Ronaldo is an amazing player and due to his outstanding performance in football over the years, he has managed to command quite a large following of fans on and off his social media.
When Ronaldo had made the move to play at Juventus, he probably made a lot of people who perhaps just want to see him play start watching Serie A.

That said, I disagree with the opinion that Serie A was dead and he revived it by just making the move to play at Juventus. To some extent, I would agree that  he brings some impact to the club he plays but it still doesn’t make any sense for a single player irrespective of his fan base to single handedly lay claim to why the league can still survive till now. It’s absurd.

You would probably think me a hater for disagreeing with your so called Ronaldo effect on the Italian league lol. I admire Ronaldo as well as Messi as both men played amazing football in their prime but you wouldn’t see me crediting to Messi a singular achievement like you did Ronaldo just cause of his massive fan base.

831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency comes close to bitcoin? on: July 19, 2023, 03:07:46 AM
I just want to find a secure and decentralized alternative to bitcoin

Which blockchain could become just as decentralized as Bitcoin?
Where could I store my assets in an emergency if there are no more bitcoins?

Bitcoin:
Bitcoin is not a currency that we will use for everyday, it is more like gold that will be used to store our wealth.
I don't think we're going to see much bitcoin in the future because big money managers and governments are going to grab bitcoin.
The BRICS currency is coming soon and it will be backed by commodities.
The most valuable commodity that can save the dollar is Bitcoin.
With the Spot ETF, large asset managers such as Blackrock or Fidelity will grab a lot of Bitcoins.

What is left for us then?
Exactly as good as nothing!

Yes, big money managers and governments would probably try to get their hands on as much bitcoins as they can. Who wouldn’t? They all know the great potential bitcoin commands now and later on in the future. The rush on their part in acquiring and holding bitcoin should send a clear and concise message to us regular folks who aren’t big money managers. Buy and hold bitcoin whenever you can.

We’ll definitely see bitcoins in the far future. It would be more scarce than it already is, thus increasing considerably in its value as the demand steadily increases.

While I think we’re most likely still going to see bitcoin and its use in the future, I think we’re going to see a whole lot of central banks of various countries issuing their own digital currencies. I think people would be more inclined or left without much of a choice than to use these digital currencies issued by the government. The beginning of the end of the paper money era is in sight.

What’s left for us then? The best option is to now prepare yourself for what is to come so you wouldn’t be looking and asking this same question then.

832  Economy / Economics / Re: Entrepreneurship and women on: July 19, 2023, 02:20:28 AM

As a result of the difficult economic times, do you consider that there will be more women entrepreneurs competing with men in this field which it so looks like they currently dominate?

Yes, I do think there would be more women who would be willing to start their own businesses and try to nurture it to make it a success. The times are rapidly changing and fields once considered male dominated are seeing a slow but steady influx of females venturing into those fields and making it big also.
As we humans progress and advance over the years, so does our societal norms and values change to fit and align to the ever changing world.

Men are men and women are women. The country, government, cultures, policies and all those things.
The reason why the results is the way it is may be because of the country it was carried in.
Anyways, not everyone is cut out to be an entrepreneur. And I don't think there is  or should be a competition between male and female entrepreneurs. We should only find ways to fund women businesses and get them out there. Give them visibility.

Agreed, not everyone is cut out to be an entrepreneur as not everyone could start a business, persevere in the midst of already established businesses and come out still running.

There is no competition between male and female entrepreneurs and the mere thought of it is ridiculous. The stats the OP posted talked about the percentage of male entrepreneurs trying to start a business and the percentage of female entrepreneurs also trying to start a business and their rate of success.
The stats the OP put up tells me there is not much difference and if anything, female entrepreneurs are entering and growing fast in what many would consider to be a male dominated field.
833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 18, 2023, 11:59:20 PM
Losing him gonna be a disaster for manchester united. Rashford can also help manchester united once the club was urgently needs a new striker. Rashford was able playing in the multiple role and his contract to the manchester united was a lot last season.
I have no doubt it must be the reason why manchester united was extending his contract. Giving rashford long term contract is the best decision that can be chosen by manchester united. Rashford's price will be also increasing gradually too.
Glad to see manchester united has been securing his contract and extend it for long term. Rashford will always gonna be the useful player for manchester united.

Manchester United cannot afford to lose one of their valuable players like Rashford. He has proven to be a capable player that needs to be kept and keeping him is what Manchester United plans to do as they’ve extended his contract till 2028. This shows they’ve got a lot of faith in his abilities. As to his worth, his price would also be increasing as he performs more better and has a lot of playing time.
I didn’t expect anything less as I didn’t think for a second that Manchester United would let him go. He’s way too useful for the club at the moment to let him go. For now, he’s going to be wearing a United jersey till 2028.
834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 18, 2023, 11:40:04 PM
Marcus Rashford was Ten Hag's mainstay player last season and his contribution was extraordinary in helping Manchester United attack. Marcus Rashford scored 17 goals in 35 Premier League appearances last season and he scored 6 goals in the Europa League in 9 matches. That's a fine goals stat for a striker who in the previous season only scored 4 goals in the Premier League in 25 appearances.

Ten Hag managed to turn Marcus Rashford into an important striker in his squad last season, so he deserves a contract extension until 2028. But then, I think Ten Hag also needs to bring in another striker to push more power in attack. Don't know who, but it's a priority they should think about.

Rashford has been really instrumental in the squad. The fans knows this and Ten Hag knows this as well. He contributed a whole lot to the success of the team in lots of games and I wonder if he may feel pressured sometimes. Sometimes, he seems(to me at least)to be the one carrying Manchester United forward as he strives to score goals in whatever game played to secure wins for the club.

Ten Hag does need to bring in another striker to help bolster the team and add more pressure to their attack. Rashford shouldn’t be heavily relied upon cause I think he is. He could perhaps spend more time in his football career playing at Manchester United like Messi did for Barcelona.
835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 18, 2023, 11:22:43 PM
The social media platforms is just too much to keep track of, these days. How many social platforms can one really use?
I stopped being a fan of Facebook longtime ago, but it still happens to be that I never lost or deleted the account.

Let's not say Mark's Thread is more of a competition of who's-the-boss-here-move, but it sure looked like it.
I like Elons' calm so far, and also there's the fact that all eyes are on Threads, just to see if it would live up to its hype. If not, well, let's not pray anything bad turns out.

There are a whole lot of apps out there that aims to connect people together but only a handful are widely known and used. The majority of those apps gradually fade out of people’s heads and would naturally die off cause no one registers anymore.

I think Elon remained calm cause no matter how twitter seems to be fucked up, the original is still the original. Whatever Mark had in mind when he created Threads(obviously to rival twitter) wouldn’t have the desired effect like he would hope.
Although, Threads recorded some huge number of signups on the first two days after launch, I think most people were curious on how the rival app would be be and decided signup and to see for themselves. All eyes may be on Thread now, it would soon move away to the next big thing.
836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: July 18, 2023, 08:46:53 PM
Firstly yeah I can agree that Guardiola is really a great coach. He came to Manchester City, built the squad according to his own system and brought great successes to the team so far. But we will never find out what he could have done with an average level team instead of big ones. Because his career has always been with top teams - Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Barcelona.

I think we(including his critics)could all agree that Pep is a great coach. It’s no easy feat to do what he has done and with different clubs too. I think his achievements speak well on his behalf.

What could he have done if he was coaching an average team? He probably wouldn’t have done much as an average club with very minimal funding to its budget would produce average results.
But with big teams like the ones you mentioned, there is adequate funding available to provide the type of players and facilities needed to produce a more than average result.

So yeah, he would have the knowledge and expertise to bring success to an average club but without the adequate resources, there’s only so much he can do.
837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 17, 2023, 11:59:35 PM
Looking at the training pics of Zuck, I can’t look further than him now. My guy is looking good, we have to remember though, Elon is one of if not the smartest dude alive. Surely he will have a trick or two up his sleeve. The fight will be entertaining though, that’s for sure. I just hope it does happen.

Mark is clearly more fit in my opinion and also younger than Elon. You would agree that youth cannot be totally ignored in fights like this. Although Elon is said to be a very smart man, his intelligence would only go so far to help him out in a fight that would probably entail more brawn than brains.
I don’t know about the fight being entertaining, but it would definitely be interesting to watch two billionaires who aren’t professional fighters square up in a cage match. This fight would probably never take place. I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: July 17, 2023, 11:48:03 PM
when you win always, no one will see u as an addicted gambler, because you're making money from it. Gamble is just a lucky play, if you're lucky oh win always. But once you always lose, the society will tag u failure and an addict.

Inspite of everything, we must all bet responsibly and know when to stop.

That’s why I don’t see success in gambling and addiction together. People would not see you as a gambling addict if you always win no mater how many times you come in to play. You’re not an addict in their eyes, you’re a winner. Obviously, no one likes a failure and once a gambler loses continuously and continues to come in to play with the almost pitiful dream of winning it big and covering all his losses suffered, then people, who make up the society would tag you to be an addict.
Betting responsibly is something a lot of people, addicts and non addicts alike forget to do.
839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: July 17, 2023, 11:31:14 PM
I'm wondering what Manchester United will do in the Champions League this time. They couldn't join the Champions League last season and their achievement in the 2021/22 season was to qualify for last 16. At least a similar achievement would be expected from them I guess. Because they have made a really good progress with Erik ten Hag so far.

Rashford is truly a crucial player for Manchester United and I get the impression sometimes that he’s being relied upon a whole lot in their games and this could put some pressure on him.
I too am wondering how Man United would fare playing in the champions league. They’ve got really good players to actually compete and have a chance at the title but it’s difficult for me to visualize them winning the cup. Under Ten Hag, they’ve seen some good improvements and I hope they wouldn’t be eliminated early on in the competition. I think Casemiro is also instrumental in their games and would greatly support the squad in their quest for the Champions League trophy.
840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 17, 2023, 11:06:39 PM
City will always dominate EPL like what bayern did to the bundesliga
The time has come for Manchester City to stop dominating the premier league. Having them sold their key players; Glodogan, Walker, Mahrez, and Bernardo Silva is going to have a negative effect on the team's performance that can deny them from lifting or dominating the premier league ever again. This will be, because the whole team in the premier league is not finding funny towards them again. The least I know Manchester City can do is to appear at the top spot of the premier league, not to lift the premier league title like is their birthright.
Clubs I have at heart that can dominate the PL by next season should be Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, or Manchester United, not Manchester City

I too don’t agree with the opinion that Manchester City would always dominate the Premier League. There are a lot of strong contenders playing and each of them wants the trophy as bad as Manchester City does.
It would be interesting to see how Manchester City would perform, having had to let go of some of their key players on the squad. They would for sure face a lot of competition from other clubs. Clubs that are seriously prepping themselves and getting ready for the start of the new season. The fight to retain the title wouldn’t be an easy one for City
