821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it still risky to Invest into Altcoin now? on: December 04, 2023, 08:29:23 AM
I would like to brief about the current market situation as there has been surge in value of altcoins a much higher surge compared to Bitcoin and many would have utilised this momentum to gain profit but if we look at the other side if you just look for top gainers you will find altcoins with top surge but the next day or after few days if you check the top losers you will find the same top gainers in this list as well. So there is a price increase for altcoin but not a established one like Bitcoin, because we have not seen dump in the value of Bitcoin for over an month now but Altcoins has been pumping and dumping and in my opinion it's not worth to make entery for long term as of now it's good only for quick profit whole being very active. What's your opinion ? Shall we invest or just involve in quick trades ?
personally, I think it's a preferential stuff, you could choose to do a long term investment into bitcoin while you invest a little amount into an altcoin you feel won't give you serious heart break because like you said, because of the surge and tye frequent fluctuation most alcoin are experiencing on a regular bases, i won't be reason to consider a long term investment especially at this time. But it's more of how you are able to do your analysis and the funds you want to invest into the a coin or bitcoin but whichever you want to invest into, using the right strategy, I doubt you will encounter any loss. But if you're considering a long term investment, then bitcoin is definitely the way to go.
822  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How does signature Campaign Sponsors make their money on: December 04, 2023, 08:20:48 AM
Often times I keep wondering how signature campaigns sponsors get their funds considering the huge amount of money they pay campaign members of their various Signatures and Avatars because some of the Signature Sponsors Refills their Escrow Funds on a weekly or monthly basis.

I want to know how advertising their Avatars and Signatures provides funds for the sponsors or is it that they just actually want their Signatures or their Avatars to be advertised to the public?
thanks for this thread, I have also been wondering how they make there money to paying all this wearing their signature but I guess after the explanation I have seen so far, I now understand how the whole thing work.

So if I'm not wrong, it's basically like you are wearing a customized shirt that bears the logo and name of a particular brand and you are making appearances at different place and when people see you, they see the name of the brand you are putting on and would want to check them out. And the more you make your appearance, the more visible you become and the more visible the brand you are putting on becomes also. If you have lots of merit which goes to show how relevant you are in the society, people will easily want to check what you wear out because people normally believe in individual that are of high reputation in the society and I guess this is tye reason why they pay forum members that have higher merits and most quality post more than those that are just coming up into the forum.
823  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are bitcoin investors violators? on: December 04, 2023, 08:08:25 AM
Bitcoin is still very illegal in many countries and to many governments, but in many of these countries, what is surprising is that you will still find investors in bitcoins who are going against the government and secretly buying and investing in bitcoins. An example of some of these people are members in this forum, so I am want to ask a personal question, do you think of yourself as a bad citizen for disobeying the government? Do you agree that you are a violator for breaking the law? Now see things from a religious side as well, by disobeying the government and investing in bitcoins, are you committing the sin of direct disobedience?
Let me answer your question from a personal perspective.

I live in a community where we have a lot of seafood like fish, oysters, periwinkle, and lots of valuable seafood that are in abundance here. But the issue is that the leaders in my locality don't allow people to harvest the see food for the purpose of selling them and this is because they don't even know the value of those see food. they will even harvest those see food that if you sell it in the urban areas, the price will be enough to feed a whole household for the week and they will just eat it up just a day.

Because I know the value of these product and I know the market I can sell them to make money, I still go out and harvest it and sell it and make a huge money out of it. And here is the striking thing I discovered as I continued harvesting the oyster, I discovered that the more I harvested them, the more they produce fresh and quality oyster while the once left without harvesting becomes old and dies off with time. When some persons in the locality interacted with me and I told them how much I make from the sells of tye oyster, their thought process change and some of them have even joined me.

What I'm trying to say in essence is that, that a country bans the use of a particular thing doesn't make the thing bad or illegal, as long as you know that what you are doing isn't illegal and won't harm anyone in the process, then I don't see anything that is wrong with it.

The issue is that most of the government that band and kicks against Bitcoin adoption are just afraid of accepting a system that they won't be in control of.
824  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is the importance of identify in your local board? on: December 04, 2023, 07:49:29 AM
Fom the way all the boards in the forum is structured, i understand that each of them Is designed to serve a particular purpose and that some of the board in the forum is for administrator and some, for  particular ranked users. It's easy to know that as a beginner, one should look out for threads in the beginners and help board because it will obviously give the user the necessary knowledge and guidance on how to scale through the forum and on how to deal with general bitcoin issues. Other boards like the economy, general discussion, gambling, altcoin etc is well spelt out and one can easily know why it is necessary to participate and identify in these boards discussions but my question is with regard to the local board.

1. Is it necessary for everyone to identify with their local boards and participate in the board discussions?
2. I would love to get a detailed aim For each of the local board and also know the kind of thread that's best to be created in the local board.
3. If it's necessary to participate in the activity of the local board, what happens to the people whose local board is not in the forum.
I feel that the local board is one important section in the forum that every new person should relate with. For me, when I newly came into tye forum, apart from beginners and help, tye only place I visit very often is the local board because there is this sense of connection you get having the people in your locality be represented in a forum like this, plus considering the fact that most newbie don't really know much as regards bitcoin and some other serious discussion that might be going on in other board like the general discussion, meta and the rest, it makes more sense for a newbie to first identify with there local boards where they can easily follow up and make contribution as regard the didcussion going on in the board.

But as a general role, stick to boards and conversation you can contribute meaningfully to. Choose a niche and make sure you are striving very well in the chosen niche. With time you will be able to contribute reasonable in other serious boards but as a beginner, just stick to what works best for you.
825  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you trust the co-vid19 vaccine ? on: December 04, 2023, 07:38:28 AM
I have heard a lot of opinions ... many are pro vaccine but also many are against it ...
And some don't even believe there is a real vaccine ... What about you ?
my spirit hasn't accepted the vaccine even from the onset coupled with the fact that they are even making it compulsory for people to take it before you are accepted into a major organization.

I mean, if they made it necessary at the point when COVID was popular and was considered a serious problem, it wouldn't be of serious concern to me but when it comes to forcing people to take a vaccine that you don't even here any rumor of people getting infected, it makes me believe that they have something fishy about the vaccine that they are not telling us.

826  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Restart, is it a good thing for humanity? on: December 04, 2023, 07:10:12 AM
What is your opinion about a restart of modern civilization?
Where no internet, no satellites, no military exist? Of course we will still have land lines, TV, but no secret, no banking system, no fighter jets, no drones, no missiles, nothing.

Do you think we will change as a race to become better? Or do you think we can never change and are doomed no matter what?

Did we have so many wars and injustice in the world before the internet?
Are we truly becoming the slaves of our creation? Who will be our John Connor to shut down the skynet, or do you think we will never reach there in reality? What if we could stop skynet before it spreads? Or maybe whatever we do won't make any changes and we should wait for the inevitable to happen?

So many questions, yet 1 answer, we can only wake up to the truth, but we can never change.

Welcome to "restart".
human has the nature of adapting into whatever circumstances life throws at them and will always find a way of copping in the midst of whatever limitation it faces.

The internet is not the reason why we have consistent cases of wars happening here and there. If my assumption isn't wrong, there might be a greater number of wars in the past compared to this present age but the difference is that because of the role of the internet in passing out information easily across the globe, people now easily gets to know the different crisis disturbing the land. The past year's of living without the internet has gone and the world have moved on a great deal to enjoying the numerous advantage of this age and so I doubt that it is necessary to want to go back to those age where we didn't have the internet connection and I don't think a restart is necessary at all, what the world needs now is a means to reducing it current limitations and also finding a way of making things easier for the masses.

There is no guarantee that if we restart this whole change the world has experience we would be better off than what we are now.
827  Economy / Economics / Re: New business idea. on: December 04, 2023, 05:50:08 AM
I would have posted this thread on my local board (Nigerian local board) but I didn't because both Nigerians and other countries can still benefit from this little business idea.
The kind of business I want to share is what is called graundnut oil making. This business idea can help someone that doesn't even have a skill and someone that is not even educated, all the person just needs to have is the money to buy the manufacturing equipment that's all.
With this graundnut oil making business, one can get the kind of life he/she wanted because the demands in this graundnut oil making business are a bit high. One can even start with a little money. However, this business is also an investment. If one can dedicate more time to it, he/she can benefit from it (can make it a company).

this information shows how the demands of the graundnut oil is in my country today is.
You can also watch a little on how to manufacture the graundnut oil, I can even invest more if I have this business and start making more money, so what are your takes in this idea?
I guess this is the first time I am hearing about groundnut oil business being something that could be done by the average person. I know red oil and kernel oil business is one of the most popular cooking oil businesses but I use to think that to go into the ground oil business you need to be registered with the government or something because most of the groundnut oil I do see around are mostly packaged in such a way that they appear mostly very sophisticated but I guess I need to do a bit of my personal research to know how easy it is to locally go into the groundnut oil business.
828  Economy / Economics / Re: Idea and money are very important to investment. on: December 04, 2023, 05:39:01 AM
What you should understand is that there are lots of investment opportunity that are present both online and in our physical environment and the one we choose to venture into mostly depend on the one we are knowledgeable about and also comfortable with. Of course you can't invest with just idea and so you will need  some funds to even think on making successful investment.

Generally, no matter how brilliant your idea is, your fund remains the major fuel that will determine if you will bring the idea to realty or not. There are lots of people that have brilliant business ideas that never came to light because they don't have the needed funds to executing it.

For me I think the major thing you need to successfully make a profitable investment or venture into a successful business is first the knowledge of the business, then the right connection/ community, then the resource, either financial or gadget, and of course you need to be determined and out in thee effort to ensuring that you follow up on the investment opportunity to tye latter.
829  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Always chanel your effort to meaningful things. on: December 04, 2023, 05:11:05 AM
Combining social media and this forum as a beginner go slow you down on a very serious note and na big distraction when you go try avoid if you get the intention of growing for the forum. I been like Facebook wetin no nice but as e be say I don see platform when indie channel all the energy I de use go argue for comment section into, I just de gradually withdraw myself from social media.

Normally, apart the forum most of us already get one or two things going on in our private life when de eat up our time and attention and adding social media to it will make us very unproductive most especially considering the fact that we are not old in the forum.

831  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Things way go help youths nai Ngerians dey miss on: December 04, 2023, 04:50:31 AM
Chai my people we Nigerians dey lack something and this thing nah the good good things way go help us and some of our next generation, before I talk one of the things way we dey lack, watin you think say we dey lack? For me e plenty but I want make we talk about only one thing.
Difficult to register on Bitcointalk:this nah one of the Koko way we as a Nigerian dey lack, just imagine something like this dey internet and we as a Nigerians no fit register without VPN, only this one show say plenty things dey for internet way we as a Nigerians no go fit join because of one or two issues way I Know know but of you know any reasons why e be like that click the reply icon and drop a comments, when I first observe this thing I been no won talk but not untill today.
no be for only this forum when Nigeria's de restricted from registering without the use of VPN oh. There are lots of platform I still know about that won't even allow you to register as long as your I'm de show Nija. A very good example na max bounty. If you de into the cpa marketing community you go know say max bounty na legit and sharp platform when get excess joy for people when sabi way around am but tye issue when de child their na on how you want to register am make them even accept your account. I doubt say con de work that much when it comes to that one because the company de very strict and there sight de very strong as dem no wan carry eye jarm any person when from those country when d blacklist.

But I feel say we know where all this matter de come from, na based on the bad reputation when we get in terms of being corrupt na him de course all this things and e come be like say any nija person when wan join some of this platform de carry evil intention for mind just to scam people.
832  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Opay-Fin Fech Companies Gaining Ground in Nig on: December 04, 2023, 04:37:52 AM
Congratulations to them. opay has proven itself to be very reliable in it service and it's very rear before you will have a transaction with opay and experience any failure of any sort.

Having a physical presence will go a long way in boasting the trust people have for it and will also increase it efficiency to a very large extent.
From my observation , of all tye micro finance banks, it'ss been between opay, palmpay and monie point. The ease with which they render service to her customers is topnotch and close to none.
833  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Forget all the hate, nija still de try for so many sectors. on: December 02, 2023, 07:54:21 PM
I  know say lately, if people wan talk about nija matter eh, e de always be the negative side when we de easily talk about. Even for this forum, if you check well you go notice say almost 70% of the threads we de get for the board when relate with our country, e de mostly be regarding things when we no de do well and most times, e de blind us to the so many areas when we de do well for both the local and global stage.

I know say na as a result of wetin most Nigerian de go through na him de make us para whenever we are giving the platform to air our view about the country but make we no forget say Nigerian de do extremely well in so many areas like;
1. We de do very well for the Technology space
2. We de get one of the best brains for most professional areas outside we country like medicine and engineering
3. Our entertainment industry na one of the best for the world. Nollywood and our music industry de deliver us wetin no nice
4. Even for this forum, nija follow for one of the most active boards when de get quality conversation going on.
5. Religion nko? You self you know the matter na.
6. Our culture go well wetin no nice and if no be say we done de trowe some of them eh, Nija get amazing cultural lifestyle on a normal.

So many areas de when we de do very well and I just want talk say make we try de talk good about our country sometimes. If others reject and speak evil of our mother land, we go follow then deny nija?

Make we try de show the world say we be nija and say we no de ever carry last.
834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best way to store your seed phrase? on: December 02, 2023, 12:34:35 PM
The best way to store your seed phrase is detailed in the article by fillippone, Securing Your Seed Phrase with Washers. He doesn't just tell you the best way, he goes further to show you how to do it. Using washers, very durable, fire and water resistant, and also to other elements.
the article has giving a detailed insight to this matter but from the two options you provided, they are all good but I consider them too complex and for me, what I do is that I wrote down the seed phrase, copied it into three papers and kept each of the piece in my safety box at three different location I visited regularly that way, whener I need it I I'm only close to it and can easily access it. Let me add that the first time I wrote out my passphrase, I kept it carelessly at home because I felt no was knew about it importance but after I almost lost it, I learnt my lesson.
835  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: You done recive your own on: December 02, 2023, 08:50:40 AM

This my discussion no dey related to crypto currency but as e stance so, e dey related to politics one kind.
First of all, this morning as I wake up I receive credit alert of N25k, when I see am I just dey confused wether nah somebody way I know nai send me the money, but when I ask the person way dey always put money for my account, em say no he him, then I con go browse about the RENEWEDHOPE cc because nah the name way show.
Finally finally I con know say nah free money way presido TINUBU share to many households and nah for 3 months e go last. So I know know if you self way dey read this post wether you done recive your own.
you done make me go check my balance wetin no nice. Well, I never see any alert and I done even try to check on face book if I go see person when done drop similar claim but I never see am.

Let's assume that this is true, My few questions regarding this are,
1.  What criteria was used to selecting the household that the said 25k would be given to and when was the selection done?
2. If a government is giving it citizen a renewed hope, is it through a policy like this or won't it be better you use this money to train people to becoming skilled at something so they can be of help to themselves. Mind you, that 25k isn't even enough to take care of an adult for two weeks in this current economy.
3. Where is my own share of the money?   thus is the most important question they have to answer because that 25k go really help my life this morning.
836  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If you were to convert your Bitcoin (BTC) to Fiat (NGN)…. on: December 02, 2023, 08:22:46 AM
First of, your writeup is as confusing as hell and it's not easy to understand the message you are trying to pass across to be honest but regarding the question on knowing the amount of bitcoin we've accumulated, Should the amount of bitcoin you've been able to accumulate become your major concern? The amount of bitcoin you have at your disposal is dependent on a whole lot of things and ranging from the time you knew about Bitcoin to the way you used in accumilating your bitcoin and of course, how much you have that you can use in investing into bitcoin that wouldn't give you a restless mind. So what ever quantity of bitcoin you are able to accumulate based on this parameters, you should be okay with it and look out for the most convenient and efficient way you can use in increasing the amount of Bitcoin you're accumilating.
837  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Coping with debt and the loan apps saga: on: November 30, 2023, 06:27:04 PM
but the thing is, dem no force anybody to take loans from them. They are ready to release their funds, they fix the interest rate and people decide for themselves if na something wey dem go fit pay
the truth is that nobody just want to take lian from lisn apps like that, it's a product of some kind of financial frustration that leads people to consider taking loans from the loan app. I have hard instances when you don't even what to know if the interest is double of what you are taking. You have a deadline to meet up and you don't have anyone one to call that can help you at that money, what should you do in that situation? Even though you don't have a means of paying the money back, the only thing you want at the instance is to get the money  , fix your problem and later you think on how to pay it back. Dime persons after they owners of the main app might have disturbed them to a point that messages start going to their contact, that's when they will have to borrow from other people just to clear out the debt.
838  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Only Sell what you don't need. on: November 30, 2023, 06:18:05 PM
Have seen many posts in the forum posters sharing their excitement about how they sold their property's to buy bitcoin and that's what called for this thread. Some claim to have sold land/landed properties, cars and other equipments. Yeah' no body has a right to dictate for you on how or what to do with your property , it is yours anyways.

However, you need to apply wisdom when taking such steps of selling a property to invest in bitcoin, make sure the property you are selling off you don't need it (a property you can afford to lose) because there is a risk in bitcoin investment the embedded risk of volatility shouldn't be neglected.

Lastly, whatever property you have decided you must sell off,  you could always sell divide the money, use part of the money realized to invest in bitcoin stead of using all of it, and then using the other amount remaining to buy another of that property elsewhere for a lower rate.

Now this is what I mean: assuming you sold your piece of landform $20k, you use $10-13k to invest in bitcoin and the remaining $7k to buy another land somewhere at a cheap rate. Surely, with years the value of that land will always appreciate so you still have a land (only that it's at a different location) while you invest in bitcoin stead of using (risking) all the money at ones.

Just my two cents.
the truth is that most of the persons that said they sold out their property to buy bitcoin are not being truthful to themselves.if they will be honest with themselves, It's very difficult to sell out your asset most especially the ones like land that its value appreciate and you use it to buy another asset hoping for it value to appreciate.  If you tell me that you used a whopping sum of money to accumulate Bitcoin, I could easily believe you but for you to sell your asset, that's possible but I doubt many persons can do that. 20 out of a 100 person who are making this claims will not even agree to doing this.
839  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people give preferential treatment to mothers more than fathers on: November 30, 2023, 06:02:27 PM
while growing up as a child ,i noticed that i was so closed to my mother more than my father ,and i usually find it very easier to confide in her more than my father, i can easily run to her for financial help without fear even when i wanted to get money from my father i often go through  her to seek financial help from my dad but then i felt that it was an infant mentality even when i see my friends do same in their homes .

more so, while in the university i noticed also that 75% of those that use to call their parents, only their mothers  and even when they want to pay their school fees they also complain to their mothers instead of their fathers. however i have tried to make some researches about all these preferential treatments given to mothers than fathers but still i am not convinced about my findings and that is why i decided to bring in the question here in the forum because i know that it will be well explained here and hopefully i will get all the answers that i want here .Therefore my question here is WHY DO PEOPLE GIVE PREFERENTIAL TREATMWNT TO MOTHERS THAN FATHERS ?
because i have been in this whole process where I can't really talk to my dad regarding most things but would easily share them with my mum, I think I can really air out my opinion on this.

The main reason why young people confide more in their mom is as as a result of the fact that most fathers don't give their children the needed attention that is expected of them and even from a tender age the children have always known there mother as the closest person to run to in times of need. And let me also say this that if most mothers are financially stable, you might find out that most persons will never go to there father for anything at all.

It's sad that most persons have not experienced what a fatherly love should be and that most fathers don't even know that the are lagging behind a great deal in carrying out their responsibility to their children. most of them are seriously aggressive towards their children and the only thing most persons can think as what there fathers did for them while they were young is that he disciplined them and I feel that this is a great abnormality that has eaten deep into the fabrics of our society.

The moment you miss out on a global change regarding a particular sector, you have successfully put yourself at a disadvantage in the future. Technological advancement is happening at an increasing pace and if you don't follow up with the latest change in the way things are being done, you end up becoming very much irrelevant, and your service might not have much value in the current time.

The way of doing businesses has changed to a very large extent and those that haven't embraced this change will testify to the difficulty they experience when the try to come to term with the latest happening in technology and the various changes that has made digital marketing a must for most businesses.
