Can't do it right away but will donate for this improvement in the weeks to come.  Big thanks to OgNasty and Nonnakip.

Seems like progress then, 'cause we all know what the next step is. So glad we've gotten past the buttcoin stage... it was something awful! Cheesy

Thank you!  Do you have a donation address?
824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: using Blockchain.info API and my address has vanished from the transaction on: April 09, 2013, 04:02:43 AM
Are you using the blockchain.info's Receive Payment service? If so, then is that address (1E6XztanxW1WamPzypoVC7TEs84r5rBtv3) the blockchain.info's generated address?

Yes, he is using that service and yes it is the generated address.  (edited for clarity)
825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / using Blockchain.info API and my address has vanished from the transaction on: April 07, 2013, 06:29:46 PM
From a friend

"I'm using the Blockchain.info API on my site.
I tested it the other day.
The input address is mine.
The outputs were a chained transaction (as always) where the primary address was generated by blockchain.info. The secondary address in the chain was of course, my REAL address.
I submitted the transaction and confirmed it in the block chain manually.
I saw that my INPUT and OUTPUTS were both correct. INPUT from me, OUTPUT to generated address, and then OUTPUT to my REAL address.
The generated address confirmed with 100 after about 6 hours, but no confirmations on the secondary chain to my REAL address.
36 hours later, still no confirmation on the REAL address.
48 hours after transfer, the transaction simply changes.
Now the transaction reads INPUT (me) - OUTPUT (generated address) and another OUTPUT to some address I don't know, for more BTC than I sent.
My REAL address has simply vanished from the transaction.
I sent 0.07 BTC. According to the blockchain, this is the amount removed from my wallet. All correct.
But then in the transaction now, I see that other unknown address receiving 0.4BTC from the INPUT.
Idea's? I've never seen this happen and no one seems to have any idea how this could happen. Everyone's insisting I must have sent to the wrong address, as there's nothing in the blockchain anymore to prove what happened. I do however, have the transaction log with Blockchain.info, confirming the CORRECT addresses. The transaction, across the network, is just changed.
https://blockchain.info/address/1GfxJgs8FU6JrKFJFALT3PZxgv9VR7UXnL
0.04052057 BTC went to the mysterious address.
That is the generated address I sent to.
it originally (for the first 48h) showed the second chained address as 1Dyqf4aG3K83mCbsWyjqzUGkRh5xV3rXPw (my address)"

Can anyone help?

I must say, I'm amazed about the confidence Nasty Fans have in you OgNasty.

After the recent fuzz about BFL I hoped I could pick some seats up for ridiculous small prices, but jet all Fans seem to stay very calm.

That really speaks for you.

Nastymining and Nastyfans rock! My second favorite investment after asicminer. While everyone else was sitting on their hands waiting for an exchange or running for the hills (fuck you FPGAMINER- Moparwhateverasshole! and I am sure many others) OgNasty stepped up and took care of business. That goes a long way with Nastyfans and that is why Nastymining will go far.

It would be great if we could get the 25% retained donations poll wrapped up with a yes decision so that these asic profits can be used for further expansion along with your magic rabbits Og. C'mon and vote you lazy  (but otherwise awesome) nastyfans! Get it done!
829  Other / Off-topic / Re: huge: PayPal panics! they run discount campaign big time! on: April 05, 2013, 05:07:51 AM
O.K. now this thread is gay.
Edit- .. paypal does suck (but not like primus does) and a discount ain't gonna fix it.

and still....
isnt that bullish to COGNITIVE and COG.F ?

If true, yes it is. I think it is but maybe that's just false hope.

I'd also like to point out that the value of BTC has gone up substantially in the last few weeks. Even though Cognitive shares are worth less BTC now than when I bought in, they actually have a higher USD value.

Although that is true and worth considering, we need to get to a point where btc denominated investments do (at least slightly) better than just holding bitcoin.  We're not there yet by my rough estimations.

I agree with your statement but one thing that a pure bitcoin investment cannot do is pay dividends every week to the owners of bitcoins.  If bitcoins continue is appreciation other people might buy into bitcoin at increasingly higher prices but a mining fund would consistently get more bitcoins from their initial investment.  This fund was hit when more shares were used to purchase the BFL ASIC.  It cut the dividend per share because their were extra shares but no extra incoming revenue.  At that point the dividend being paid out could not be the only metric for the book value of the fund.  There is also the value of those ordered ASIC that need to be taken into consideration when pricing the fund.  There is also the bitcoins held in reserve that the fund has.  It may use those bitcoins to purchase more ASIC but it could also just pay a large dividend as well if that is more beneficial.  Another important thing is how the fund is well managed.  Just look at some other funds (ex. BITBOND) and see how much risk a bad manager can add to your investment.

I would not be surprised in the future that as the ASIC are delivered and as the fund grows less of the fund's bitcoin revenue will need to be held in reserve for future growth.  Once the fund becomes a growth fund then investors will not have to worry about share dilution and their initial investment may outperform bitcoin's rate of appreciation.

Agree completely. I'm not being critical of anyone's management as I think Garrett has done as good a job as could be expected with all of the variables and unknowns to consider.  Some of the current policy changes will take a little time to have an effect and if those bfl asic come soon enough we'll be in a great position to do very well both short and long term.  I'm really looking at investing more into cognitive but that uncertainty over bfl shipping is a real kicker considering i'm already in relatively deep. It's still probably one of our best chances at getting asic profits within a reasonable time considering the price and shipping dates of asics these days.

Fee is 1% for the advertiser on succesful trades. If the buyer cancels the deal, no fees.  https://localbitcoins.com/escrow_process_guide

Many people use email transfers through on-line banking to avoid travelling unless someone is really close. Put up an ad to buy them and you can bid what you like for them. Use escrow.

840  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Please dont let bitcoinstore fail, your action is needed just about now. on: March 21, 2013, 03:21:02 AM
Those aren't necessarily going to offset nice and equal like that. It isn't even likely that the number of sales lost, due to value people are holding out for, will match up the value BTC actually lands at.

You have a couple things in your argument here:
1. You're working from the assumption that bitcoinstore is losing sales from customers not wanting to spend money due to "deflation".  Unless I missed it, you haven't provided any evidence of this outside of just saying that's the case.  It might seem right in your gut, but you are making the claim and thus need to provide some shred of evidence.  And no, you can't base your argument on pure speculation alone because that's not an argument.

2.  You are assuming people aren't smart enough to convert USD to BTC.  If I need to buy a computer and can save 10% value by buying from bitcoinstore with BTC over USD at amazon, I'll just buy some BTC with USD and then make the purchase.  I haven't bought a computer, but I have done this exact thing for other items from a variety of bitcoin stores.

Well said.
