821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why women are the minority in crypto land? on: July 11, 2021, 02:10:04 PM
Not only in crypto, but if you look financial universe in general you will see there are very few women compared to the number of men involved on this kind of activity. I believe it's just part of women nature to not have interest for these things. Usually women prefer to engage in another kinds of activity like cookery, decoration, aesthetic...
Of course there are exceptions and there is nothing wrong with them, but that is inevitably the main rule that many people avoid saying in public nowadays fearing retaliations from the modern demagogic society.
Yes, but there are quite a lot of career women out there who still choose to work and choose activities such as cooking as a sideline. when it comes to crypto, I just feel that many don't know how to find crypto apart from trading, or something else. maybe, if they know and understand how to earn crypto with little risk, I think they will start learning about this.
I feel like the career women just do not prefer the financial world because they already carved a new thing for themselves and do not need to be 1 in 10 women in another field. Look at the marketing world, if you go to any marketing agency and check the numbers you will see that its mainly women that works there, or look at cafe business you will see that there are a lot of women working there (not just waitress but also owners too) or look at literature business you will see that there are a lot of women there too.

In the end they created their own sector and got into that, and since women were not commonly working 50+ years ago they had to start somewhere they all stick together and build a strong network in certain sectors, finance and crypto never became one, because they rather work with other women then become minority in men's world. Which I totally understand, I would prefer that as well if I were them.
822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 21 July is going to big for btc price? on: July 10, 2021, 06:46:14 PM
Btc going to big move after 21 July because ELON MUSK going to meet JACK DORSEY, this meeting purpose is how to mine btc, which enargy are used in btc mine
You can check also: https://twitter.com/jack/status/1408102135040970759?s=19
What is your thinking about this meeting? Is possible to grow up btc price after this meeting?
  Drope your point? Tnx
Let's not put this much pressure into two people, it was giving Elon Musk this much influence that made things hard for us and now people are suggesting we should do the same for Jack as well. I believe there are very few people we should listen for crypto world because they can actually influence it with their moves. One of them is Vitalik because he turns ETH into something better every day, not personally I imagine because there are other coders and as far as I know he wasn't a great coder himself, according to him of course, and that is still good because he changes ETH into something awesome with the collection of help from everyone and acceptance of the community.

Secondly CZ because dude is CEO of binance and that means he has power over many things and that is why I think he should be listened to. I can't name a third one but I am sure there are a few others and that's about it.
823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: have you ever play or won from a crypto exchange lottery? on: July 10, 2021, 07:25:14 AM
OP might be confused but this is the real winning on Lottery nevertheless, that's still a good money for lottery.
I'm not into lottery as well but I've tried playing this before but I didn't win any money from there so I also stop playing it and goes back to the traditional gambling. The odds of winning in lottery is very low, you must the lucky guy before you won some people place a lot of money and yet they didn't win at all.
Same here, I don't like to buy tickets for a lottery contest because it's like betting on unrealistic odds. I don't mind if I am entering the lottery doing small tasks like there are often giveaways/airdrops where you just need to enter your address. I just don't want to spend money to buy lottery tickets.

No, I haven't even entered on crypto exchange lottery, so obviously I'm not going to win any. Again, this is based on pure luck, that good enough money to begin investing on crypto. I'm not against them, but there are people who doesn't like lottery, maybe they think it is rigged or something or the chances to win are really very slim. And in order to win, you need to have a lot of tickets/slots and you might spend money on it.
I don't think rigging is a problem because just like dice and other games, lotteries can be organized in a provably fair manner such that the results are picked using some kind of algorithm. I feel the real reason behind so many people hating the lottery is because the chances of winning a lottery are low and obviously only a handful of people will walk out as winners.
824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 10, 2021, 06:11:34 AM
Pakistan played their previous series against weak Zimbabwe. They had an outstanding performance in every match against Zimbabwe and easily won almost all the matches. But now their opponent is strong England. Looking at the performance of the last match, one can easily guess how strong the Pakistan squad is. Only 141 runs were collected. England won the match in just 25 overs, losing just one wicket. Both the bowling and batting sides of Pakistan are weak now.
I wouldn't call them weak but they are just either too good or too bad on a particular day. I saw the odds before the ODI no.1 and surprisingly Pakistan were the favorites and I was wondering why a visiting team against the world champions is being listed as favorites but I quickly realized why it was such, because the home team England made too many changes suddenly.

In another world, I am really worried about Sri Lankan cricket team because they are neither producing goo enough players nor they have any proper management of the current ones. Changing captain, rotating too many players is what is causing them the troubles. It's heartbreaking to see a world champion team breaking into pieces like that. They had Sanga, Mahela, and all those great players not sure what's wrong now.
825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are some interesting ways you've introduced bitcoin to your friends? on: July 09, 2021, 06:35:17 PM
ATMs would be really cool, but I’ve always read people who make use of it complain that the cost of making use of the ATM for exchanging Bitcoin is always very high and they prefer to just do it online than making use of the ATM. So making use of the ATM might be an issue in this case. Anyways, I haven’t gone that much far when I’m introducing Friends to Bitcoin. I just show them the Bitcoin wallets and the funds I have in it and also show them how easy it is to send money to anyone without the need for banks, and it just arrives in seconds or few minutes. But I have also tried sending it as a gift.
826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why more women to trade crypto? on: July 08, 2021, 03:59:49 PM
Robinhood COO: We have enabled more women to trade crypto.
Gretchen Howard described crypto investments "stereotyped as a male-dominated space,” but she has seen significant growth for women during her two years at Robinhood.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/robinhood-coo-we-have-enabled-more-women-to-trade-crypto
I don’t think there is any accurate data when it comes to how many women are into cryptocurrency trading, and moreover I don’t know how Robinhood got to know they have more females joining their platform or how they go about attracting more females to their platform.

Anyways, this is how it has always been, in a space like this there are always more men than women, just like there are more women in the nursing field than there are men. Things like this you can’t force them, people are free to do whatever they want to do. I believe that with time we are going to have more women joining the community.
827  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop losses on: July 08, 2021, 09:10:04 AM
I trade a lot of coins during a bull run and during those times I use it to make sure if I lose the track of a few coins, I don't end up paying it with my wallet, at least not by too much.

Lots of traders often criticize stop loss function because it takes away the possibility of recovery but I don't know if even 10% of coins that go down ever recover unless a certain Elon Musk is sitting behind to help it.
It depends on what I am actually doing. If it is day trading, then I think stop loss is very important to use in a situation like this, so that you’re not going to be running the risk of losing so much money while you’re trading. As for whenever I am HODL’ing, I don’t really bother about making use of stop loss. But I think you still have to put some things into consideration in a case like this , like for how long you’re going to be holding. If I plan to hold for a very long time and I have it in that I want that coin to reach a particular price before I am ready to sell, then I don’t see the need for it.
828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What features should a good altcoin project have? on: July 08, 2021, 07:01:32 AM
I think the best projects to earn a ton of money are still blockchain, defi and NFT. But it all depends on your investment profile, if I think it's suitable, it's not necessarily the same for you. So it all comes back to the risk profile of each investment.
All the projects are built on the blockchain technology so it's not a specific project but a technology, that is blockchain.

Choosing a project before making a decision to join is very appropriate. More clearly, I myself still don't really understand what kind of project is right for me to join in the hope of benefiting from it. One of my considerations before joining was to learn about its purpose and who manages it. On the other hand, I always put a positive attitude towards all projects.
I have a polar tendency as compared to yours. I always look at every project as if it's existed to scam (unfortunately been scammed many times, so have to go this way) and then I start my research like what are the fundamentals of the project, who is behind the team and what are they looking to achieve and whether what's being talked is realistic and achievable or just being lunatic in their approach.

There are many things and it's not possible to list them all but if you can do a rough fundamental analysis then you don't have to do much else.
829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Million dollar win on $15 parlay whoa on: July 07, 2021, 09:28:37 PM
I think it has inspired me now, lol.. maybe I'll start putting huge parlay so one day I'll be able to make a fortune in gambling. They say no one wins in big parlay but that's the proof, when you are really lucky, nothing is impossible and I just can't imagine how the owner o the bet feels while watching the game., especially the last leg to settle.
I don't know who says you cannot win parlays because I usually make a lot of parlays and win some so although unlikely, you can always win. That said, don't get too inspired and lose all your bankroll to parlays because overall parlays will keep you in net loss, that's my experience with parlays at least. You may hit one big one but follow by 15-20 losses which eat up all the winnings you got.

Even the game where England was required to beat Czech Republic was pretty scary actually and I felt the game might end up in a draw eventually because there was just 1 goal and it could have easily been neutralized by the Czech Republic at any moment.
830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 07, 2021, 08:53:59 PM
I don't know, I don't think I am that excited to be honest. When he was coaching Tottenham I wasn't even interested in following Mourinho after a while. Roma is quite the average team. So he either manages to score some big points in the first games and everybody gets excited, or he starts out in the middle of the league table and stays there the whole season and nobody would pay attention.
It is true also. When Mourinho came to Tottenham, I was really unsure about him. And he had a really bad season at Tottenham. They barely managed to qualify for the Europa Conference League after the games of the last week.

We have an Inter example with Mourinho in the past also. It's the reason I'm curious whether he could be successful at another Italian team again. I guess we won't be able to figure it out before seeing many games in the league.
I have to say his previous attempts weren't that awesome neither. I mean he was with United before Spurs and his United stint didn't end that well neither, and before that he was in Chelsea again and that wasn't so great neither.

Mourinho hasn't been a great manager for a while now and people fail to see that, just because of his previous years he is still thought as a great manager but his good days are behind him, football evolved around him and now today's football doesn't care for the "park the bus" method or whatever else he can conjure up and that is why Mourinho became an "ok" manager at best. Roma wil basically be an "ok" team once again and nothing more. Anyone who thinks that Roma will have sudden success all because they got Mourinho doesn't have a clue about what he has achieved in the past 5 years, because he has achieved nothing at all.
831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Never sell your Bitcoin? on: July 07, 2021, 08:24:19 PM
I just want to see what the general consensus is about selling Bitcoin. The well-known Bitcoin advocate, Mr. Michael Saylor, has said that you should never sell your Bitcoin, you should hold it for a lifetime. He believes that when you sell bitcoin, you will be taxed, but if you hold it, you can borrow bitcoin at a good interest rate (tax-free). Platforms such as Block Fi provide such services.
It all depends on the advantages one gets by holding the coins. If bitcoins can be used to take fiat loans, then I am sure anyone would be glad to hold bitcoins as an asset.

You hold bitcoins --> the values go higher with time

You sell --> you pay taxes + you are losing your portfolio

you hold --> you can take loans by putting those bitcoins as collateral + you manage to hold your bitcoins for a longer period which also means more value over time

The only problem with the above assumption is that there are not many platforms where you get loans by giving out bitcoins at reasonable rates.
832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Cake Coin good for Passive Income? on: July 07, 2021, 07:27:49 PM
If you do have time to research more deeper with this coin and you can spare good amount of investment,

There's always a good outcome to those investors who take time to analyze and work more deeper with the investment that they'll going to participate, cake have that capabilites to give handsome rewards especially now that the value is far cheaper from the last time high, for sure appreciation from those passive seekers are into this asset.
There is also a good amount of money to be made depending on what you are willing to wait for, because there is money to be made in the long run if you could simply just wait. People are forgetting that crypto is a long term deal and if you can find that good coin and invest some money into it then you can make a good return from it in the long run, in a few years at least.

I have a friend who does that and he has been making a killing during this bull run, he was a bit lucky and had money in 2018 so he put it all on dozens of different coins and in 2021 all of those coins were revived and actually worth something, he knew that one day they would and almost all of them did, a few didn't which is understandable but he never invested into a coin that is outside of top 1000 anyway, it was all coins that people knew and there were a community for it.
833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Becareful with Meme Coins on: July 07, 2021, 06:55:32 PM
When the price of Dogecoin rallied everyone wants to take that opportunity and run their own version of the coin and now i lost count about the number of projects in existence aiming at luring the investors promising that i could be the next hype train that could rally and there are some similar coins that made a huge rallies but no one can assure you that the new meme coins will survive.
And some of them are getting good interest from the investors because everyone thinks these coins will be pumped while actually, I don't think any of them will be pumped at all. It's sheer lunacy in the market right now that any coin is coming with a meme or doge coin theme and people are buying it.

Meme coins are fun, but you should never put serious money on them. Its fun to throw a bit of money at them but your heaviest bags should be backing projects that build real products.
Either that or meme coins only suitable for short-term and sharp trading. If you see a meme coin is being hyped you may buy it to sell later, like Elon used to make tweets, smart traders will immediately buy the coins and wait for the bubble to hype up and once it has heated up nicely, they will just sell and get out of the market for the time being.
834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet on climbing challenges on: July 07, 2021, 05:19:28 PM
Gambling is already part of many people and it's up to what they want on what to choose to play or to bet, this climbing betting is really a good thin to be as you can enjoy the game while betting, this is also a serious game because this gambling is dangerous as the player can die on it, I already watched many videos about climbing and gets die. Anyway this game is really good and I am really amaze to the speed of those players.
I didn't know that deaths are part of this sport and I thought all the safety measures like a string is attached to their back in case their balance gets disturbed. It must be a terrible feeling to make a bet on a player and then he dies, that's quite a strange feeling. I feel bad for wrestlers when I bet on them and they are knocked out or even when they knock out opponents so I am not sure how much death would traumatize me, maybe I won't be able to bet again.

I don't think there's a need to popularize this sport if many deaths are happening during such events. I always prefer sports like soccer and basketball where it's fun to watch and there is rarely a serious injury. Trae Young had a bruised leg and he was away from a few games, such is the sensitivity of the sport.
835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: TENNIS: Wimbledon 2021 on: July 06, 2021, 08:01:02 PM
Headlines from today are that Federer almost flawlessly goes through to his 18th Wimbledon semi-final. Raducanu was a set and 3-0 down before she retired allowing Tomljanovic to go through to meet Barty in an all Australian quarter-final tomorrow.
For some reason, a lot of players retire after they are down a set and some games. I remember watching Tomic play a few years back and the guy was almost tanking matches and he would just play to qualify for the tournament and even admitted publicly that he finds no motivation and his bank account is in good shape just by playing and qualifying for grand slams.

I was able to find the article too: https://www.tennis.com/news/articles/bernard-tomic-can-t-find-any-motivation-at-wimbledon

Anyways, talking about this year's winners, I am sure Djokovic has got this one pretty easily because Federer hasn't looked that good to me.
836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you pay with Bitcoin whenever you're able to? on: July 06, 2021, 07:14:05 PM
I believe the only limiting factor to spending bitcoins is the fact that there aren't so many merchants accepting bitcoins. I am of the opinion that people will spend their bitcoins if there are merchants accepting  it.
Even if I'm willing to spend my bitcoin, I wouldn't be able if there's no one accepting it. I also believe just like OP mentioned that bitcoin would attain mass adoption if bitcoin can be spent just like the fiat currencies we have now.
Another small problem is the confirmation timing and some merchants require 3-confirmations which wastes a lot of time. I cannot imagine going to a shop making my purchase, paying with bitcoins and waiting needlessly for an hour for 3-6 confirmations. Maybe this can be solved by the altcoins payment option in such places where the queue is long and people cannot wait.

If the store allows Bitcoin to pay, I believe everyone will pay with Bitcoin. However, there are no merchants in our country that can use Bitcoin to pay. If you use Bitcoin for large transactions, it is more cost-effective than using cash. Now the system is getting better and better, and soon we can use Bitcoin as a way of daily payment transactions. .
There are mediators like Bitpay that allow customers to pay with Bitcoins and allow merchants to accept Bitcoins and it's legal too but I think not many merchants are aware of such services and I am not sure how much they charge for the mediation between the customer and merchant.
837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has intrinsic value like Gold but better? on: July 06, 2021, 06:43:45 PM
The total amount of Bitcoin is fixed and is as scarce as gold. Bitcoin is an encrypted digital currency. Some regions or countries use Bitcoin as a method of trading and storage, which can be exchanged for things like gold, but Bitcoin can be operated online, which is more convenient and safe. Bitcoin also has features such as decentralization, forming a strong consensus on Bitcoin.
Gold is valuable because it's scarce like you said often times people consider gold to be a safer investment than bitcoin because while gold has worldwide value and is recognized as an asset all over the world but bitcoin is still a relatively new asset in comparison to gold hence the faith in crypto investments is not that much and moreover the legality issues are always there.

The only reason I believe bitcoin is more worthy of an investment as compared to gold is that bitcoin is much more scarce because the total supply is fixed and hence the value will be much higher than gold because gold is an element found in nature, doesn't has a fixed amount of reserve and I read somewhere Musk has found some gold in space, right? These things make bitcoin more valuable than gold.
838  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC Go for Another All Time High This Year? on: July 06, 2021, 06:02:00 PM
What is happening in crypto market right now is normal, 50 to 55% correction from ATH happened many times  when you look at the history of Bitcoin, it can even fall down further but it will certainly pull back and break its previous ATH. Hold your coins with patience and don't sell them in panic, it will bounce back soon. Bitcoin is like a diamond and diamonds never die.
For sure, we must not sell the coins below the price we bought them because that's insanity. If you are in the crypto trading you must be well prepared for these swings and they are nothing new neither, we have seen such things happen almost every year and sometimes a couple of times within the same year, so nothing to panic about or fear about.

I am expecting something similar, bitcoin went down in price and now it is ranging and it does not seem as this is going to end anytime soon and I understand why people are getting desperate especially if they lost money since they got the FOMO and now are regretting their decision to buy when they did, but I think it is almost inevitable that we are going to see new all time highs by the end of the year as the fundamentals of bitcoin are too strong for this to not happen.
I would go even one step further and think like this: Okay the market is down but what is the most likely movement from this point? Surely the movement will be upwards from here at least it's much more likely than price going even more down. You bought bitcoins for a higher price, no problem, just wait it out and selling at loss is probably the worst decision, unless of course, you need the money badly for something else.
839  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin at new heights on: July 06, 2021, 03:25:51 PM
Too early to say that bitcoin will go to that point anytime soon, remember that there's not a lot of good news that is big enough to really consider that bitcoin will be able to go to 45k anytime. Also, why do people call the price 28k a bottom? I don't get it, it's still higher than that of the last year's price.
They call $28k as the bottom because they don't care what value it was last year, they only care about the lowest value that was within this year, which is quite a negative way of looking at the market. If one shows the same attributes in the stocks market, they will never earn anything.

I don't like to comment whether we are moving towards new heights or we are declining towards a new bottom because these are all temporary movements and I seriously believe in the value of bitcoins not the price of it.

After the bottom of $28,000, now to $45,000, will it continue to rise
It's a dream for day traders who want to continuously play between these margins.
840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbooks often offer different odds for the same type of bet on: July 05, 2021, 08:47:15 PM
I also found a few markets on EURO where odds are slightly different on Italy to win.
Good one and I think there are different odds all the time on goals too. I mean if you carefully observe the market "Next goal" and see the option None then the odds will be lower compared to what you get if you bet on under that many goals. Concretely, if you bet on No 1st goal you will get lower odds than you would get on betting under 0.5 goals.

I always check for the best possible odds and then place my bets because not just soccer, tennis (in tennis you get different odds on the exact score and under/overs) it happens in esports betting as well.

Player to win 6-4 in tennis, if he is leading 5-4 would be different than betting on under 10.5 so be careful and pick the best odds.
