Pool was down for approx. 60 minutes because of unplanned datacentre outage. I'm very sorry for this, everything works again.

Here's one for the noobs - set a backup pool in cgminer like this

cgminer.exe -o http://stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u USERNAME -p PASSWORD -o http://eu-stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u USERNAME  -p PASSWORD

Then, when this happens your miners will flip to backup pool...

Is there some sort of problem with the pool right now or is it just me?

mining software says pool is "down/slow" ... unable to connect Huh

Nope all fine here - check your network

[EDIT] yep pool is down sorry
829  Other / Meta / Re: Why has this site been going so slow? on: July 30, 2013, 09:58:43 PM
I too have been experiencing slow pageloads occasionally, while most of the time the loads only take less than a second. But I'm running into these slowdowns much more frequently than every 90 seconds.

I beg to differ. I'm getting the slow ones most of the times, the fast ones are pretty scarce.

Yep - it's getting worse now - slow responses on nearly every click...

That's how modSettings should work, but it's actually also used for things like a timestamp of the last ban added, so it changes pretty frequently.

Why does every visitor need to refresh the cache though? It's still a global array, so I'm confused as to why it's not just refreshed globally through a cron script, dumped into a mod_settings_cache.php file, and loaded.

And this has only been happening for about a week - something must have changed recently...
833  Other / Meta / Re: Why has this site been going so slow? on: July 30, 2013, 08:42:37 AM
I think that the site becomes slow every 90 seconds when the modSettings cache expires and every visitor then needs to do an expensive query. Does this seem to match your observations?

SMF handles modSettings really badly.

Yes that sort of matches for me - I can be clicking with sub 0.5 page loads times then suddenly 10+ second page load on the next click. When a page does load slow it's always over 10 seconds for me - I'm not seeing any variation like some pages loading 5 or 6 seconds etc. It's either really fast or 10+ seconds. Now you mention the 90 secs cache expiry I will look for that.

Selling because want some extra btc to use tomorrow morning. Check my rep thread.

I'm cancelling your bid, if you want to bid knowing payment is to be made as in op, replace bid.

Ok, no escrow no deal - you are new here - would have been willing to pay 0.6 - thanks anyway

0.4 (plus I'll pay shipping to UK) - but only with escrow if that's OK
837  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: vdragon Erupter-Groupbuy-Scam : Task Force on: July 29, 2013, 09:49:48 PM
I'm not accusing anyone.

But if yxt actually was the brain behind this scam, involving a random hungarian buddy, it would be a most excellent one, since he would have stolen over 200 BTC and still can continue his business unbothered.

maybe yxt can help us about the price,
@YXT, was it possible for him to resell @ 0.89?
No answer.

And maybe he was not looking depressed enough about a negative 1100+ eruptors on his order book.

I know, paranoia.

It's a bit harsh to question yxt imo. Nobody asked this guy (vdragon) about his credentials which is essentially the problem here. Yxt generally posts in group buys (like the UK group buy with OutCast3k) to state stock is not a problem etc. There is no condoning of an individual in his posts. Also, 0.89 was the price for > 1000 units.

[EDIT] I feel your pain though and I'm gutted for you all that this (vdragon) little shit did what he did. Best hope is for green and the police route. I hope this guy is caught and maybe some cash returned...

840  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Luciddd is a scammer, stole 100.00 moneypack on: July 28, 2013, 10:25:58 PM
He runs a website, has no negative rep, and was in a hurry. He's a fucking prick. Whatever. I've done trades no issues, ill require people to send first in future.

Just know he's a liar and a scammer, and green dot will shut his account down. Already spoke to them.

tbh $100 is a cheap lesson to learn on here - I've seen a lot worse. Hence escrow with unknown dudes...
