822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin on: July 19, 2013, 01:36:04 PM
I anticipate a crash in the XPM price when the difficulty spikes in anticipation of the dumping from gpu miners.

824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Conception of a future CryptoCurrency Bank and what its function will be. on: July 10, 2013, 06:15:59 PM
The problem is *trust*.

Simple as that - any anonymous site that wants me to *trust* them is a *scam* as far as I am concerned.

Maybe I don't *like* my bank (due to fees or other annoyances) but at least I don't worry that they would just *run* with my savings.

Any Bitcoin bank that wants to be anonymous should be trusted about as much as you would trust a complete stranger.

When did anyone say that the bank would be anonymous.  I think a lot of people here have trust issues in general.

Looks like i missed the party Smiley

Not quite. I have a LOT more cards sitting idle in the basement right now. I'm just taking a break before I take pictures and list them.

Can you give me an itemized list of what you are selling.  I might be able to take a lot of it off your hands if you are willing to give a good discount for one large purchase.

832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Infinitecoin - IFC high coins per block! V1.2 Released! Please Upgrade on: July 05, 2013, 01:00:53 PM
I have my fill on IFC.  congrats to those should bought in when the reward was 524,288 per block.  Now we are going into 262,144 coins per block which will run another month and then the reward will halve again.  IFC is getting harder to mine and is on coins-e and will be on cryptsy soon.  as more services are coming online that will support multiple cryptocurrencies IFC will go up in value.  I'm not promising LTC levels  I only know it will go up.

I plan to keep mining as I'm still 50% shy of my target of 9 billion.

By holding that much IFC you devalue the currency over all, you'd do better to stop mining and pump in units of 100m-500m in to the market until you hold under 1% of the total IFC. It's better to own less of something that's worth much more.

You holding 4.5b (5%) puts off investors like me. Your entire post was basically a vote of no confidence imho.

there is a purpose to my position.  I'm working on a cryptobank for a client and it needs capital to kick it off.  I plan to make IFC on of the first currencies it supports.  I"m demoing it end of August for the client and hope to have it in beta some time in the fall.

835  Economy / Speculation / Re: A lot of talk about $50, but the very bottom may be lower on: July 05, 2013, 12:28:38 PM
im selling bitcoins till price will get back to 10-20$

the bubble need to pop.  people need to suffer.   people need to get angry.  people need to quit bitcoin.  when that happens the market capitulates and we will find a bottom and start the cycle over again.  When BTC hits $50 I will be interested in how it handles the support there.  I will also be interested in how quickly it gets there.  I"m not sure if 50 will be the bottom because the market continue to evolve.  Maybe it is the bottom or maybe it is 30 or 20.  It is interesting to participate.
836  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let's be realistic. For what reason do you really think Bitcoin will rise? on: July 05, 2013, 12:22:39 PM
It works, was first and technology demands it.

Not necessary because of being first. Google was the 20th search engine to emerge. It learnt from all it's previous competitors mistakes.

Bitcoin wasn't the first either. There were crypto currencies before Bitcoin, but none effectively solved the double spend problem. Perhaps, and this may be bold, but perhaps Bitcoin learned from it's predecessors...

which is why bitcoin will not be the end all of cryptocurrencies.  it is the firsts successful one but there will be others that will prove to have advantages over bitcoin.  this is still a pioneer industry and it still in development.  it is not ready for prime time but it is close, about 3-5 years away from true public adoption.

840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [CBNK] Cryptocurrency Bank feasibility discovery on: July 01, 2013, 04:12:33 PM
Noirbank is currently under development but hurdles are everywhere. The first thing you have to answer is what kind of institution would you say you are establishing? If you include a currency such as USD you will have to register as a commercial bank, which means being connected to a national reserve and being subject to the banking laws of that nation.

I spent 4 hours on a conference call trying to explain what how and why crypto-currency is. Then they asked the obvious question, OVERSIGHT and TAXATION. Already if you look at the crypto world, those are alien words.

Yes I'm trying to stay away from fiat.  This would be strictly cryptocurrency.  If it takes off and develops a large deposit base then I would consider including fiat money exchange, but not fiat money deposits.

It is good to see others are engaging existing financial institutions.  It is getting the the concept of cryptocurrencies out into the public space.

I'm doing this feasibility study for an undisclosed financial institution that is considering entering the cryptocurrency market but has no interest in implementing a solution that will not have a return.  So a banking experiment in cryptocurrencies such as this, if successfully will entice them to invest.

Security is going to be the first question everyone asks -  solve that , and you might have something if you keep it pure Crypto -

Yes security is paramount especially with all that goes on in the crypto community.  It has always been at the forefront of our software development.
