Are you guys really blaming bitmain for your countries import taxes?! wtf.

It's a semi-nosense
Before the last batch bitmain was always writing on the commercial invoice a lower value (~120 USD), so i can understand these complaints

Secondo voi se collego le schede mediante connettore pci-e, posso utilizzare risers 1x/16x non alimentati?

Quello che mi chiedevo anch'io, per andare sul sicuro sceglierò quelle senza pci-e e le metterò sotto riser powered
8225  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Antminer S1 - max fan speed and temp reads 182 on: February 28, 2014, 06:25:37 PM
Is there a way to change the fan speed?

Nope, is controlled by the internal pwm

You can only cut the fouth wire to remove pwm and let the fan go always to 100%
8226  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 1.37 BTC for 180GH/s on: February 28, 2014, 04:06:15 PM
Just received my 2 Antminers, the last UPS "cheap declared" batch.

Both units have heavy smell of burnt electronics, fans and heatsink blades covered with dust.
One unit is ok, another one has some dead chips and doesn't hash at full speed.

Way to go Bitmain  Angry

Holy f**k, hope that is just an isolated case...
However, seems that the 24feb batch is having lot of customs and technical problems

Yikes...I would unplug that thing IMMEDIATELY until you figure out what the story is.....at that temp it's going to grenade.

The temp is surely faked, and you can comfirm this by simply watching the 2nd blade temp.
Just a defective temp sensor (maybe if u are lucky an hard reset can fix the issue)

Update, sent Bitmain a PM on here (no reply to either of my emails) and they said this... (I hope they don't mind me quoting them)

"Declaring the true value is requested by the customs, otherwise miners will be stuck when importing, the customs is keeping an eye on Ants, they clearly know the miners' value."

Looks like this will be the standard from now on.

It depends on the country, for example in my country customs don't care at all about what inside the package, they just call me and ask what inside and "some computer hardware" is good enough answer for them.
So Bitmain why did you send the packages with the value declared even higher than the current real price without letting the customers know?

I will post that quote in the another thread, so now one of the better thing when you buy at bitmain has just vanished

Antminer S1 currently mine at about 0.02776860 BTC per day without overclocking.
(Current Difficulties: 3,129,573,175)
*Pool luck may increase or decrese the mining rate.

Please bitmain explain your sudden change about the declared value of the parcels
