It is a fact and dropping catches can cost you the match and that is what happened, Dhoni gave three chances, first dropped catch when he was on zero and then after crossing fifty it was a hard chance because it was a powerful shot and then a run out chance, it was the day for MSD to get India this historic win and he made it till the end.
True and Maxwell must be kicking himself hard after the results. Pakistan, with a very nice comeback after the Test series, won the first ODI match by 5 wickets. Interestingly, today's pitch looked like totally in batsmen favor, with almost no extra bounce. IMO, Hashim Amla's century really ruined the match for South Africa; at pitches like these, the strike rate of at least 100+ should be maintained. OTOH, Mohammad Hafeez's batting performance looked awesome as he maintained the strike rate of 110+.
Media criticizing Hashim Amla for this and they are right. in last 5 overs, they managed to make only 30-35 runs. its a crime in this era plus when you have wickets in hand. At one stage Pakistani fan were nervous when wickets fell quickly  I was like here you go another facepalm moment for Pakistani batting line up but Hafeez and Shadab did the job beautifully for Pak. It will be interesting to see what happens once Warner is back, that's if he gets back into the Australian team.
Are you implying that finch will lose his place in ODI squad if Warner comes back? if yes then I don't think Finch place is in danger right now he's doing an okay- (not bad) job as a captain. batting is concern surely but still, he is a very valuable asset in top order. It's ideal spot for Dhoni if you ask me. Everyone knows he takes time to settle in , if he comes in 2nd down he can settle in and then start playing like he plays. He will always finish strong , that's what happens under Rohit captaincy .
It's good for Dhoni and it's good for team because he knows how to build an innings .
Ideal spot only on some occasion and it should be decide on the match situation IMHO. if top 2 wickets get out cheaply and early in the inning then Dhoni fits well in number 4. if that's not the case then Dhoni fits on number 5 or some cases even 6. |

If Zampa start the rain still India will be disappointed. Although it's an easy target for India, things can be changed if Zampa can strike. I don't think its going to happen though. It's more likely that India will win the match within 40 overs at maximum but who knows.
Zampa was okay in this match. I was expecting more from him after seeing Chahal's tremendous spells. Man of the match belongs to Chahal. selecting team is very long debate lol .India need 44 runs in 30 balls. another last over result is in progress. India should win this match from here, they have wickets in hands and Austraila need some wickets right now if they wanna win. Maxwell dropped the dhoni's catch when he was facing first ball of his inning and now Dhoni playing at 70  Yeah, it is a long debate but it's getting very interesting and complex due to Indian Bench strength. Australia didn't deserve to win this match at any cost. You can't drop 2 catches in the low scoring match. Period Not sure mate, Finch is in poor form of late and I actually think it has to do with playing test cricket. Since he was called up to play test cricket in the middle of last year his one day form has dropped off and his test match form isn't any better. I really think that he is just a ODI and T20 player and Australia should stick with it.
I am just hoping that he's going with some bad phase. not a good summer for him. I hate to say but his last 3 innings reminds me of KL Rahul. he's getting out on almost the same delivery in every inning. Batting coach along with Justin Langer must look into his all 3 dismissals. The first match of the 5-match ODI series between South Africa and Pakistan will begin tomorrow at Port Elizabeth. Interestingly, Dale Steyn (good for M. Hafeez ) and De Kock have been rested for the first two matches. Duanne Olivier and Rassie van der Dussen will probably be their replacements. I hope this ODI series doesn't turn out to be like the Test series, with almost all matches being one-sided. Pakistan can beat any team in white ball cricket in their day. Babar Azam batting on number 3 is good. Shoaib Malik at number 5 can anchor the inning in case of collapse and All-rounder Shadab khan batting at lower order can make useful runs too here and there. Not very sure about Fakhar. he's good but i still have my doubts about him when facing quality bowling attack and M.Hafeez, sometimes he play like top international batsman and sometimes looks more like a club cricketer to me.  Bowling unit is looking good with 2 all-rounders Hafiz -Shadab + Fast battery, but I want to see M. Amir do some good in ODI along with young Shaheen Afridi. |

Exactly, I still remember the match against Srilanka where Dhoni knocked a brilliant 183. No one thought that India would win the match but Dhoni made it at the end. He was really the best finisher ever. Time flies and he changed. I still think he has the capacity of changing a game. And that's why I still support him for world cup squad despite some people's thinking about Risabh Pant. Yeah, good old days. Dhoni spot is fixed in World cup squad no matter what his critics say. As a cricketer, he brings lots of things on the table be it wicket keeping or an abundant amount of experience with his calmness especially during the critical moments (Field) I am in favor of Pant too and would love to see him in world cup 15 men squad at-least but as a batsman. Chances are very thin due to tough competition for number 4 and 6 in between Ambati, Kartik, Kedar Jadhav. |

Final match will be interesting to watch. Australia has played well although they had lost the 2nd ODI. Definitely credit goes to Kohli and Dhoni, of course, bowlers too. If Australia can perform the same in the last ODI, they will definitely have the great chance of winning. Dhoni critics hiding their face in this win lol. but for a moment i was scared when Virat kohli got out. luckily Dinesh Kartik played cruical cameo in the end and took pressure away from Dhoni. we have a decider in 3rd match. Yeah, critics are not seen nowadays, lol. I do not think there was a reason of scared because Dhoni and Kartik was there and there was a little amount of run needed which can be easily taken by them. 3rd one will be interesting since it will decide the series. You can call me hater hahaha. i am hiding my face too when talking with my friends in college Dhoni playing too slow these days. he builds the extra pressure on other batsman. i think my reason of fear are justified at least for me lol. Austraila finish with 298 runs on Board. at one time Indian side was looking for a chase around 320 but Bhuvi took care of Marsh and Maxy duo. who were looking very dangerous still Australia manage to get 90+ runs in last 10 overs. Lycon last ball six over midwicket was like a show stopper. bawlers don't expect such kind of shots from tailenders Okay condition for a bat on. Hoping for good chase here. would like to see Sikhar and Ambati Raydu put some score in the top and middle order respectively. Finally 100+ score from any Australian player in this series. A delight to watch him( Shaun Marsh) score big after bad test series. |

The second ODI match between Australia and India starts today in Adelaide. I wonder if India will make any changes to their team after the poor middle order batting collapse in the first ODI match. Australia will most likely go in unchanged as the team played well all around, Australia can win the series today if they get the win.
India did well by not changing the middle order combination for this match and would like to see the same batting combination in this series. Win or lose doesn't matter. India trying to solve her problem with middle order crisis here. and for this, they need to give enough chances to the current middle order. Plus looking for extra seam bowler who can bowl with Bhuvi and Bumrah. that's why they are trying new bowlers and Shami too for ODI |

Ramij raja telling the similar thing about indian batters in commentary box when talking about technique but other commentator interrupted him because of shadab 's cracking shot. Sarfaraz going with bad phase right now. His critics are very vocal against him due to bad form with the bat and not showing enough aggressive approach with his captaincy. Coach Mickey Artur wanna spank him everytime he gets out due to poor shot selection. But as of now pakistan can't afford to lose him as a test captain because I don't see any other senior player can fill his shoe. onrise as far I remember they played draw against England and won against Aus. Pakistan lost 3 match test series against South Africa. Quickly checked Pakistani batsmen stats in this series and it's sad to see that not a single century by Pakistani batsmen in this series. a couple of good innings here and there but they failed to play big. and in the 2nd match, Sarfarz blamed the Bowlers that they are not bawling fast enough.

I can't believe a few people on TV are blaming Dhoni for the loss. It was 4 for the loss of three wickets when he came in and also he got out because of umpire decision . Those who are blaming him absolutely knows nothing about cricket .
It's sad. I have also seen some stupid post in social media blaming Dhoni here. In fact, he had nothing to do but support Rohit Sharma. He played good in that position. Those who are blaming Dhoni are kind of typical cricket fan who don't fucking know what cricket is. While I do agree with both of you except "knowing cricket". but one can't deny that his performance is not that good with the bat in recent times. now he plays ridiculously slow and creates pressure on non-striker as well. Thala(Dhoni) wins matches with the bat for his franchise against 4-5 bowlers ( Chances are only 2 are international level bowlers and rest of them, average bowlers) that's not the case in International matches. Right now there is a big difference between the odds for India and Australia. At present the odd for India is found above 5, while it is found less than 1.2 for Australia. I believe this match will go so close at the end, also taking the test series win we cannot conclude it will be winning for India, but it has lot of chances if the middle order batsman give a strong support in scoring.
Sharma done great job but they was not near to win as early damage done all for India and Dhoni is also gone after completing his half century but good match with full of entertainment by Sharma look like this series is going to be very interesting as now India need to give good reply after this lost. Pakistan as usual top order completely fail and 2,0,0 is from top five is not enough for saving whitewash now Baber and Sarfraz trying to do some recovery which is very hard job for them until luck 111/5. Can't believe that after making such a score by Rohit how India lost the match. It's really unexpected. Also, By the way. Australia did very well both in their batting and bowling.
