Yeah, that's what I'd do if I were OP. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with just posting in the Off-topic section as long as you're not spamming--but posting exclusively in either Off-topic or P&S is frowned upon by a lot of people anyway. In either case, it's best to just let the mods deal with something like this (or not). The member described by OP sounds like he's just a one-line spammer, so he'll probably get a ban. If not, you've got that good ol' ignore button at your disposal. If you post well, posting exclusively in off topic or polotics and society is fine - it's a bit unusual but... Only posting one word/one line posts and the fact they don't have any merits is the problem here. |

Can any OG member or staff or moderator answer the following question? If posts are reported in sections that don't have mods, how are those posts handled? Do they go to a global queue of some sort for other mods to handle these submissions? If so, then would it be beneficial for users to report posts in these mod-less boards, or would their reports be pointless?
I might be wrong, but if my memory serves me right; during one of the discussions (possibly the one where a mod for Politics and society section was to be appointed) it was told that such reports go to Global Mods; also I think there was a concept of troopers on BitcoinTalk. Guess the answer is too hazy...  If this is the case, then the users of the particular boards that OP is talking about should be able to click on the "Report to moderator" link to at least bring attention to posts that break the rules. It might be wise to select a moderator for these boards based on how many posts they have accurately reported, along with a review of their history on the forums. Am I misunderstanding something here? If it gets reported, then one of those mods need to pick it up. Then, for every message, they need to translate it into their native language and then work out if it's spam. That seems a lot of effort for every message unless they get the webpage translated in its entirety. |

You would technically be able to get your money back if you invested with them as they have a UK registration as a company and there are ways to get people and recover funds (unless of course it's listed blatently somewhere that they're a ponzi or that they won't repay or they just run off). |
