If Bitcoin goes up very high should i buy a house?

Ive been thinking if it went into very high figures i could cash out 80-90% of bitcoin and buy a house outright with no mortgage.  Is that even a good idea though? - basically 80% of networth in a house hmmm.  On the other hand i dont want to have a mortgage and im fed up with renting due to landlords, letting agents and lack of control.

Your question itself is immensely stupid. Certainly you should buy a house with bitcoin (if you are able to). Instead of having bitcoin, it is always better to have a tangible asset which has a huge upside potential. If the real estate sector is booming in your country, it is a very good idea to use bitcoin to buy an asset.

Go ahead with it!
8282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: April 10, 2016, 07:13:09 AM
I too believe that bitcoin is better than western union if you are seeing bitcoin as a money transfer service.

But I believe bitcoin has more offering in his kitty. Apart from low transaction money transfer tool, bitcoin is an investment itself with the potential to reach to an uncharted territory.

Also the blockchain technology is a path braking innovation of all times. Only the human civilization need to put bitcoin for good cause.
8283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the best Bitcoin Wallet? on: April 09, 2016, 02:43:44 PM
I think the below mentioned link will help you to choose the right wallet.

Also, I have been using coinbase online wallet for a long time. You may want to check it. I am really very happy with their service till date.
8284  Economy / Economics / Re: The $1 Million Dollar Bitcoin on: April 09, 2016, 08:33:34 AM
I don't think bitcoin will be able to reach a million dollar value anytime in future.

I am expecting around $2000 to $3500 in another 10 years from now. The amount of total investment flowing in to the crypto market is getting divided between huge numbers of altcoins. Every now and then we are seeing new altcoins a popping up in the market and the investments are further divided.

This is not good for future price of bitcoin.
8285  Economy / Economics / Re: thought on wht bitcoin will buy in the future on: April 09, 2016, 08:27:41 AM
Bitcoin is not meant to buy eggs or daily groceries. Though there are people want this to happen because they want bitcoin to become a regular currency, but I see bitcoin as an alternate investment. If you are thinking that bitcoin will go up to a million dollar in future, then you can certainly buy a peaceful retired life with bitcoin and that's what exactly my goal is.

Bitcoin will never become a regular currency because of it's decentralized nature and no government will be able to control total bitcoin of the world alone hence it will bring in conflict of interest and that's not a good thing to happen.
8286  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: April 07, 2016, 06:43:40 PM
I don't think it is happening anytime sooner.

Bitcoin will never be able to overcome the power of fiat currency, be it pound or usd.

Bitcoin is just an alternative to save money and nothing else. It doesn't have the characteristics to become a mainstream currency.
8287  Economy / Economics / Re: Best website to give out loans? Btcjam or ? on: April 07, 2016, 04:07:01 AM
Well the result of those all is no one is best then the other as they cant assure you the money you lend will return, the best one would be the lending forum here were the colateral must be provided being crypto or forum accounts ,protecting the lender and making the scam not able to happen,or atleast at a reduced risk.

I disagree! BTCJAM is always way more safer than any forum lending. BTCJAM has a proper verification procedure and they awards everyone with a credit score. If you wish to take higher risk, you can invest in lower credit rating and you will also earn higher interest rate.

But for higher credit scores, the interest rate is lower, but it provides more safety to the capital invested.

I have been using BTCJAM from a long time now and invested in almost 10 loans, not yet have any negative experience.
8288  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin-gold price correlation on: April 06, 2016, 10:22:42 AM
It is not wise to speculate bitcoin price based on gold or vise verse because bitcoin is not backed by gold.

But yes, USD is backed by gold, but for the purpose of speculation and trading with gold, this correlation can lead you to an uncharted territory.

8289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar Opened , your first impressions ? on: April 06, 2016, 06:56:06 AM
Good to hear that openbazar has finally started operation!

But why a web version is not available? Why do I need to download an app to use openbazar. This way, it is impossible to beat ebay, or any other ecommerce sites.

Developers of openbazar should think about it and make it available in the web so that people can start using it with ease.
8290  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: April 06, 2016, 04:23:36 AM
I don't think that paper money can be or will be banned or not, but I can't see any such signal.

Countries can move to become a paperless nation by promoting debit cards but they will still need backup and they will keep the money in their vaults.

It is not easy to simply ban or stop using decades old fiat system. Probably after few decades we will see such changes, but not anytime soon.
8291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UN Will Use Blockchain to Fight Obesity on: April 06, 2016, 04:18:07 AM
The article is incomplete and doesn't provide any explanation how it is possible to fight obesity with blockchain technology.

It is probably the blog owner want to get some traffic, hence writing such craps. No particular direction has been given in the article.

Obesity can only be fought with awareness and nothing else.

8292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Dollar on: April 06, 2016, 04:15:31 AM
To answer the man question, yes, if majority of the people is holding the bitcoin and not transacting with it, how deflating can happen?? I think, u wanted to mean how to inflating can happen and not deflating.

Those who are holding their bitcoin, is hoping for price increase so they do not want deflation to happen with bitcoin. But please remember, bitcoin is being mined worldwide and hence the total numbers of bitcoin is increasing day by day. So holding on to bitcoin is not a problem as of now. But we all know, that the supply of bitcoin is limited and it will not available to mine after 2022, so who understands the demand supply chain, will hold on to the major portion of their bitcoin. Because when the supply will be exhausted, and the demand will be strong, bitcoin price will increase manifold.

Hope this explanation helps!
8293  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: April 05, 2016, 02:44:59 PM
I am being honest and I am not waiting for BTC to come down to $100. If it happens, I will loose 3/4th of my BTC savings and I don't want that to happen frankly.

Those who hate bitcoin, they might have such kind of thought in their mind, but for me, this kind of down-slide will blow a big hole in my pocket. I wish bitcoin become even more pricey.  Smiley
8294  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: April 05, 2016, 02:42:13 PM
There are always two types of people in any financial market in the world. One is risk taker and another one is safe player.

Risk taker people will take risk and explore new avenues to invest money where safe players will stick to the conventional ways to invest money.

For me, I prefer saving most of my money (70%) in traditional ways like fixed deposit, savings certificate and AA+ rated company bonds.

And I invest rest of my fiat money in to various equity. I think it is a balanced approach where I can recover my trade losses from my savings.
8295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Valorbit | VAL | https://valorbit.com | Valorbit coins Distributed By Humans on: April 05, 2016, 10:56:01 AM

The Valorbit HD Multi coin Wallet has just been published on Google Play.
https://goo.gl/aoncHr

The info will go on the Valorbit forum, download page, roadmap  and the social accounts.
It is open source, based on Coinomi, and the source shall go on GitHub.

Some community members may want to add as receiving address the one on the mobile.
It should be safer (provided the passphrase has been stored offline) to keep the valorbits on the HD wallet than directly on online exchanges.

As it has been posted before the transfer to external addresses will be executed soon.
We shall give few more days for this info to reach the people.

The next technical addition in the works would be the iOS wallet.

Very soon we shall add on the roadmap 1-2 higher level business projects
that build on the existence of mobile wallets and the online payments protocol (BIP70).

Thank you for the update dev. Waiting for the roadmap to be published.

However, what abou the existing wallet. I didn't face any problem with the existing wallet till date. Everything is syncing smoothly and going good. Is there any need of changing it??

Also if possible, please stop the free POS distribution. It may kill the coin as there is more supply than demand. The prices will never go up till the time people have free money. let them do some work to earn VAL. They will understand the worth of it.

8296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you switch to a new technology, if it offers better features than Bitcoin? on: April 05, 2016, 10:18:51 AM
Why not! Why I would not reap the benefit from the new technology?? But that certainly doesn't mean that I will leave earning bitcoin.

technology is very progressive and it evolves with time. So if a new technology is offering me good features and profit, I would definitely start using that technology. But I will also keep using the bitcoin like the ways I am using it now.

So, instead of switching technology, it will be an addition to my life.
8297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin already using too much power by 2020? on: April 05, 2016, 08:45:38 AM
That's true and the cost of energy is one factor which makes bitcoin mining non profitable for the solo miners.

I think it is better to use solar energy for mining purpose. But again it is very expensive to install solar panels at the initial stage. So companies with good amount of investment will be able to manage it.

The devs should come up with an alternative.

8298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitwala Raises €800,000 for Bitcoin SEPA Transfers on: April 05, 2016, 04:18:36 AM
Another welcoming news even though the investment is not even a million dollar.

This trend of raising fund in bitcoin has started few years ago, and we can see serious investments are flowing in, even though it is less.

But we have to understand that majority of the world population don't know about blockchain technology, they don't have any idea that money can be mined digitally.

Considering this factor, the investment amount is not less. Wish to see more and more such companies investing in blockchain technology or to related companies.
8299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Separate Computer for Bitcoin/Financial Information vs Personal? on: April 05, 2016, 04:11:17 AM
That's rich! ain't it?

It is always better to use separate laptop/computer for financial transactions or for crypto currencies and a separate one for porn and movies download. But not everyone can afford it.

I prefer using a single laptop with licensed internet security in it. Also I am using a licensed version of windows. Regular scanning of your laptop will make it safer. So porn watching and financial transactions can take place simultaneously.

8300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So much for Bitcoin is used for money laundering on: April 04, 2016, 06:27:11 AM
Every technological advancements come with positive as well as negative side. No wonder, bitcoin is also used for money laundering.

But majority of the bitcoin users are general people like us those who have earned bitcoin using genuine ways. They should not be bothered.

Let the criminals do what they are best at and let the law take care of them.
