8301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: one reason why bitcoin will not surpass fiat on: September 15, 2016, 12:12:21 AM
we hear about cool and new bitcoin ideas every day and also how these ideas will improve the standing of bitcoin. a cool feature that makes it better than fiat.
i want to talk about one such feature. bitcoin can reduce the trust we need when money is involved. let us say i want to bet a friend of mine and to make sure we pay after the bet is resolved we use a smart contract.
this sounds fine and reduces the trust needed.
but in fact we just shifted the trust to the coder who made the smart contract. sure we could verify the code, but how many people can do this (remember the DAO)? my mother can certainly not.
so in order to make smart contracts a big point for bitcoin we will need generations and maybe even have some sort of basic smart contracts training in schools. so this is not very likely.
even today nobody reads the fine print and just trusts that everything will work out fine (most people think they can sue to get the money back is something fishy happens). but all we need with smart contracts is just one misspelled letter and the money can be lost without recovery.
people are dumb, so fiat works just fine for them. bitcoin might be to advanced for people to really go mainstream without destroying many peoples lives, because they made a small mistake or trusted the wrong code/people.

can we solve this problem? should we get used to the losses? or is this one of the reasons bitcoin will never go mainstream?

Bitcoin will not go fully mainstream in the developed world until governments ban cash, because then and only then people will see the magic and value of bitcoin. .
Well that is will never happen, and I never think the government will ban fiat. how about the destiny of bitcoin? if in this time the value of bitcoin depending on the fiat.
8302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jobs on: September 14, 2016, 11:59:22 PM
Are there any jobs on this forum other than being an escrow agent, in a signature campaign, manager of a signature campaign or having your own business?

Smiley
You're already mentioning all of the jobs in here, I think there is no another job, besides of you're mentioning in your post. maybe becoming the translator? trying for out and finding the specifically job is you're need.

8304  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading, emotions and your fine selves on: September 14, 2016, 09:31:30 AM
we are all human and even the most veteran traders still have some emotions left in them that may affect their decisions Cheesy

Emotions just a natural things is are can't be separated, and although someone is already can controlling their emotions, but there is a moment is he are can't controlling their emotion.
emotions are always giving a high contribution for the people is trapped by worst decision, I have some coin but in this time the price is still in 500 satoshi and after a month is passed the price is increasing for more than 20x and caused by my emotions is actually always hold my coin and not sell them at the moment, and after the moment is gone... I realize I taking a worst decision caused by my emotions.
8305  Economy / Economics / Re: Future of Bitcoin Economics on: September 14, 2016, 09:14:27 AM
Bitcoin is become a global phenomenon and is not letting up anytime soon.
Expect it to surge past many currencies in the economic market and I think I recall seeing that even one country has adopted it as their national currency. Smiley
That is a step in the right direction for the future of bitcoin is strong indeed.

chinese release his own cryptocurrency, but it's still private testing, public can see the progress of chinese public, and some country now research and learning about encrypted and cryptocurrency, i think in next 10years we will see the nationa cryptocurrency, but i think bitcoin is still number 1 in cryptocurrency
I would like to see that. Because if they are create their own  digital national cryptocurrency - I imagine it would be something like the digital version of yuan.
It won't be public ledger like open cryptos and using private blockchain will be rather detrimental to the security of this project. I can't wait to see how fast their precious private coin will be hacked.
It's very bad if every country is having their national cryptocurrency and I can say that is not different with the fiat money there are a many types of the fiat money, maybe more than 100 type of fiat currency... and that is already exit from the purpose of bitcoin for making the digital life is easier, and that's why will better if just there is a one type of cryptocurrency.
8306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "If" Bitcoin as scam on: September 14, 2016, 08:55:44 AM
How can you Say bitcoin as scam, we millions of user had benefited from bitcoin and after having benefit of millions and billions how can we day bitcoin is a scam. Yes i agree that 99% sites related to bitcoin are scam this doesn't mean that you could regard bitcoin as scam.
You don't need for giving a serious respond for that because this thread absolutely is not made for a serious purpose, but I sure if the op is already known about that. maybe i can say this more just like a troll considering from a lot of fact about bitcoin.
8307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Iota Tip Thread (since its no fee to send lets have fun with that) on: September 14, 2016, 06:28:33 AM

Normally this can be used to generate a paper wallet -> https://www.moneroaddress.org/. In case it is down, you can just get the generator from github -> https://github.com/moneromooo-monero/monero-wallet-generator/

    Is this site safe https://mymonero.com?

Yes, it is run by /u/fluffyponyza, which is one of the core team members of Monero, see -> https://getmonero.org/knowledge-base/people. It should be noted that webwallets always should be treated with caution.

What is the easiest way to buy monero?

The three biggest exchanges are https://poloniex.com, https://bittrex.com and https://shapeshift.io. For the first two you need an account (and Poloniex also requires KYC), for the latter you don't have to make an account. All these exchanges only have a BTC/XMR pair, so you would've to buy BTC first in order to acquire Monero.

This guide by /u/gingeropolous is pretty straight forward and easy to understand -> https://forum.getmonero.org/5/support/2384/the-easiest-way-to-buy-monero

If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask.

8309  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is amazon will be accepting bitcoins in the future? on: September 14, 2016, 05:15:08 AM
I think time will come that amazon will accept bitcoin as mode of paymen.  But first bitcoin needs to make its confirmation faster.  Second it needs to multiply its base users so that amazon will take notice of the population that is using bitcoin.  If that will happen im sure amazon will adopt bitcoin for their mode of payment.

I am so sure that amazon is going to accept bitcoins too. But with the confirmation I guess there is no problem about it as it is already good enough.

It is only taking few minutes to be confirmed and that is not going to take you so long to wait for your transaction to be confirmed.

If the customers of amazon are going to have one accord appeal in amazon to accept bitcoins then that is going to faster adoption.
The confirmation is not become a problem for the online shop because they're not doing a transaction directly, maybe will be differences if the confirmation is applied to a direct transaction. about the minutes of confirmation, it's just replied with their regulate.
8310  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Discussion]What work would you do for 1$USD per hour? on: September 14, 2016, 05:05:41 AM
for 1$/hour nothing is too low for 10$/hour maybe i can do some language translate
$10 for an hour and if just for 10 hours, I can get $100 and what the hell, if that is soo high for me, but are you sure just offering a translator service can get $10 for an hour?If that is a real I can say that is very amazing.
8311  Economy / Economics / Re: How legitimate those 600% ROI claims are? on: September 14, 2016, 12:57:42 AM
BTC capital management businesses are booming nowadays it seems.

With several new one springing up everyday. With Lots or online advertisements and big lucrative claims to boost their case.

From 30% roi to 300% and even upto 600% roi a day. Leterally. ( Whoa!!  Huh )
To sweeten the deal even further, they even accept initial deposits as low as 30$!!

Combine that with something I read today about:
If ones wallet wasn't hacked, and some one conned u outa ur Bitcoins, it wasn't considered Criminal!
BTC are considered fair game, in the eye of the law. Hanging for grabs, so to speak.
According to the random post mentioned Roll Eyes

That being said, I wonder how legit their claims are?
How do they do that?
Can trading crypto-currencies only make you 300-600% profits on a daily basis consistently?
What're the legal position or consequences of a fraud occurring in the BTC paradigm? Where the law stand on these issues?

If u ask me personally, this is has Ponzi scheme written all over it. But I'm not a markets wiz , so whom I to say, right??

Seems like just a scam but a lot of scammers is already having a similiar word like that... it's not always related into ponzi scheme but it's always related into scamming purpose... let's stay away...
8312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Circlepay in iOS 10 on: September 14, 2016, 12:42:08 AM
Guys, I guess you have heard that Apple will integrate Circlepay in the iMessage in iOS 10. Im wondering where is the advantage to use Circlepay (they use Bitcoin) instead of e.g. paypal. Most people will send USD or EUR and not bitcoin. Im sure Circlepay will use bitcoin in the back to do the transactions. Would it not easier just to integrate paypal in the iMessage?

For instance: Sending from Germany to my friend in the US 30 EUR. PayPal would just to exchange the EUR into Dollars. Circlepay would first exchange EUR into Bitcoins, do the transaction and then exchange Bitcoins into Dollar. What do I see wrong?

Thanks!
Just waiting for the circle pay is available and we will know the fact how that will work, but from your example seems like will becoming more complicated payment. Huh
8313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my Community bank fraud department called regarding coinbase on: September 14, 2016, 12:31:19 AM
I bank at a small community bank in the states and they have some real nice personal bankers that are helpful. Recently the fraud department called asking what I do and why I have so many transactions with coinbase. F U its my money, I can buy whatever I want with it. This is annoying because my small bank has no idea what bitcoin is and explaining it is not easy they are old school. My question is I am not doing anything wrong like gambling, why are they inquiring. I work in a professional company and was surprised when the personal banker asked. She also said they called a few mo ago too . I also have made small buys in a span of 9 mo nothing big like 1 btc per month. Has anyone else been in the same situation?
And welcome to the world of a bank, with the permission of government the bank always feels they can make intervention for the people's life and maybe that is will really disturb. but considering from your explanation maybe i think they're feel curious with the history of your transaction caused by using an exchange will make your account will be a very active users maybe just a day you're making more than 2 transaction into coinbase?
8314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar , a failure ? on: September 14, 2016, 12:14:15 AM
not failure. Its step forward to help bitcoin grow.

Ebay wasnt what it is now within 1st year. slowly it will evolve what we can see watching ebay , gumtree etc.
Please bear in mind its new fresh idea which is developed every day more and more. After bazaar we have bitsquare which in principal is the same.
Proble with bazaar is access to markets/shops. duo helps a lot but again without client you will not buy anything. So bridge is needed to help usual joe find and buy what hes after.

The different target of the subject is make the differences between the open bazaar and the another global market because openbazaar just aiming the bitcoiners is can't compared with ebay, amazon and etc is aiming a fiat users or I like for calling that is a local user.
the result will different considering from various element but we can't be using the global market into the standing of the p2p market like open bazaar.
8315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: September 14, 2016, 12:03:09 AM
Bitcoin will be the king of crypto currencies for years to come, but there will be certainly space for other good coins in the market, coins like Litecoin, monero and Etherum has a lot of users and have a maket value, but i dont think so it will cross bitcoin for now,but anything is possible in the future ,you never know life is unpredictable.
That is just an alternative currency and a lot of their users is a trader and finally, if we get a profit in there and the ending they're wanna for exchanging their coin into bitcoin... they are wanna for using another coin like monero,LTC and ETH is caused by bitcoin.
8316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japanese ‘BitGirls’ Show Brings Blockchain Voting, Cryptocurrency to TV on: September 13, 2016, 11:52:30 PM
china society is a country where a lot using bitcoin but Japan will be the country most innovating with bitcoin in new things and this will increasingly make more famous bitcoin, maybe in japan olimpic many merchant accept bitcoin as a payment method
Between the china and Japanese there is some gap in their purpose, I think the Chinese are more forward about the profit caused by their electricity value is so cheap comparing with japan but the forward just purpose of japan is wanna for implementing the digital currency in their daily life.
8317  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: New U.S registered site - PowerBTC.com - let you earn 10% above mkt price. on: September 13, 2016, 11:38:45 PM
I saw this site powerbtc.com in a PR this morning. They listed a U.S address

This site claims to allow BTC sellers to profit 10% above the current market price by reselling the Bitcoins to buyers in middle east. You simply need either a bank account, WU or Paypal. The site claims no registration is required and it is anonymous.

You simply click on let's say Paypal button, a receiving address will pop up and you need to key in your receiving Paypal address.

I have not tried this service yet.

I found one potential problem with the site:

(1) The receiving address that was generated and presented to you to send your funds to is not unique. I looked through blockchain for that address and realised it is a recycled address. How could the site knows that you are the one who deposited the funds?

And the reason for you for never trying their service and this is it.

I do not trust badbitcoins.org because they listed MiningSweden as legitimate. The last I checked, they did not list MiningSweden as a bad site despite M.S has stopped payments.
Hemmmm... seems like badbitcoin is bad from your sentences, with slowly a good site is turn up into a shady site.. but for the power btc is a real scam site
8318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of Litecoin? on: September 13, 2016, 10:42:42 AM
What do you think of Litecoin?
These past few days, litecoin price seems pump up from
btc0.00065 to btc0.15z Is this the sign that devs of litecoin
have a future plan on his coin?

That's just an old coin and the pumped price is a normal because of their not so far from the volatility and I think anytime their price can getting a down. and all of that is normal and the future of lite coin is just like this situation.
8319  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you always missed the right time to sell/buy bitcoin? on: September 13, 2016, 10:32:02 AM
Yes because i'm not type of bitcoin user who is actively spending my time watching the price movement so there a lot of times that i missed to sell my coins like it touched to $700 and just after a week or few couple of days it start to dump so I missed the right time to secure my profits.
I've always missed the best moment price of bitcoin, I not active users and always on time to check the market situation about the price of bitcoin. like sometimes if bitcoin price is touched or stand on higher price and I missing it. and I feel so sad about it.
I never missed a time to sell or to buy because i dont need to sell or buy my coins i am only doubling the coins i already have you know allot of peopel are just buying and shit but trading is the best way to make money.
That's right, and the important thing in this time is already 2 months ago from my post. this is my first time there is a person can doubling his coin. Shocked
8320  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How can we encourage local businesses to accept BTC? on: September 13, 2016, 10:23:34 AM
we should show them how the bitcoin works. we have to prove its existence and the big question ia that bitcoin price is so voilent

Yes the big problem not question is that the price is so volatile and all over the place, this is not assuring at all for any company so they wouldn't want to adopt it.
As the price gets more stable we can start to encourage them, they'd like the idea more and would see the benefits over the cons that bitcoin has.
The company is considering, about the volatility of the price their the value of their product can decreasing for instantly and that is very bad for them maybe just waiting about if there are a tool can controlling or matching the price of the stuff and rate in the market for instantly maybe a lot of them will encourage bitcoin.
