If you're planning on mining bitcoin with GPUs, then chances are, you're going to have a really bad time. If you have profitability in mind and not necessarily help secure the bitcoin network, then you're better off mining altcoins and just sell them for fiat/bitcoin. These will probably help you pick coins to mine:

Does this mean that Kraken has gone over to the side of evil? It seems to me that they did not take the right path of development.
You might want to read the article. Kraken's move was pretty much similar to a retail business just creating their own production factory instead of having to pay a 3rd party.

So.. your point being? You really think trivial things like this deserves it's own thread? Or do you want a trophy or something? Here you go, hope you're happy:

Sounds great and all, but don't forget that your leaving your bitcoin to a custodial service. Meaning:
1. They could lose your funds through a hack. 2. They could lose your funds through fraud. 3. They could simply not give you back your funds due to something like a government intervention. 4. They could decide to not give you back your funds just because x, y, z.
Juuust a heads up; though of course the decision is on you on what you want to do with your bitcoin.

In summary: It's safe to assume that less people are interested in bitcoin/crypto in Asia(compared to countries like the US), hence lower exchange liquidity and lower trading volume, which leads to higher price fluctuations due to the lack of liquidity, which could lead to price premiums on Asian exchanges due to the difficulty to arbitrage between Asian and US exchanges.

Because it makes complete sense for a random stranger on the internet to double your money(bitcoin) on the internet for no reason at all, right?
Unless the website is actually yours and you're just trying to advertise it, of course.

Why this dude still isn't in jail or in a padded cell in a psychiatric ward is beyond me. Let alone why this dude still actually has followers on Twitter and on their "mEtAnEt" community.

I agree. Many people even newbies can claim that they will be willing and have a tough mind and soul to remain still into holding into their Bitcoin investments up until the very end of time but those were just boastful and confident claims with no pure proven results because once they see that the market is facing a struggle they cannot get into their butt hurt and they are tend to pull out their investments to try to save their money from the suffering. Actions literally speaks louder than words. Instead of claiming, better just do it and show it on how tough you really are for newbies haven't seen the critical points that can possible to happen unlike the long time investors who have already been here since then.
One thing's for sure: it's pretty easy to think and claim that you'll be holding unto your bitcoin for years and years if the price is continuously rising(à la 2017 bull run). When the market does the opposite on the other hand..

In other news.. water is wet. But now that this proof of Banks are the one whose the true criminal assistant for their transferring i guess this is the time for us to Heads up and be proud of what market are we having.
There has been countless of other cases of banks committing fraud in the past. But what do they get as a penalty? A slap in the wrist.

4. If I use hotwallet like electrum, does that mean my funds will be stolen?
Of course not. No one would use Electrum if that was the case. If you know what you are doing, don't download random sh*t on the internet, save your backup seed in a safe place and have good security measures, then you most likely won't ever get hacked. But you can't compare the level of security between a hardware wallet security and a hot wallet like Electrum. If have $500 to hold, which wallet is more perfect. I will like your explanation.
Personally, I think $500 is already enough for you to consider paying $60+ in a hardware wallet. It depends on you. Do you think it's worth the extra security? Are you going to buy more crypto later? I used Electrum for many years before buying my first HW and never got my coins stolen. If you know your way through security, a hot wallet isn't really a bad deal. Totally 100% agree. I'm just going to add a bit more emphasis on this part. Hot wallets aren't really that bad, assuming you actually know what you're doing; and the fact is, it's just better for A LOT of people to just grab an affordable hardware wallet from Ledger/Trezor than to gamble away their security. And the fact that you're asking about these things(kudos to you for asking questions by the way), might be enough proof that it's better for you to just go the hardware wallet route. Juuust to be extra sure.

It is the first ever crypto exchange to become a bank but I am not so happy about this news. I am curious about why a crypto exchange would like to do something not related to the industry. Because the crypto and fiat systems are different from each other.
Maybe actually read the article first? " becoming a bank we get direct access to federal payments infrastructure, and we can more seamlessly integrate banking and funding options for customers, said David Kinitsky." It's basically so instead of them bowing down and kneeling to every hurdles and requirements certain banks require them and prevent them from doing, they'll start their own bank instead to prevent these unnecessary problems; hence making their operations a lot easier.

Bump! Decided to make this thread a megathread for bitcoin scam sites na kinakalat sa Philippines; para may iisang thread tayo na may listahan ng mga website na pwede nating ireport. Huge thank you sa mga nagrereport.

Or maybe we can used this thread rin Bitcoin Revolution Scam. Dito ko na kasi pino post yung mga nakikita kong similar websites na Ponzi scheme na may endorsement na hindi lang mukha ni Carlos Dominguez, pati na rin yung mga well known celebrities. Thanks for the heads up. Decided to edit the thread na gawin nalang [MEGATHREAD] ng mga scam sites sa Pinas, dahil dun nirereport ng mga tao. Salamat! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5221799

Do you really do this? I thought long time forum members would be a little more confident with their investments.
I stopped panicking years ago and there aren't many things that could force me to sell. A medical condition of mine or one of my family members could be one of these things but price volatility definitely not.
It's probably safe to assume that LogitechMouse was referring to bitcoin holders in general, not Bitcointalk forum members. There are other bitcoiners outside Bitcointalk, you know.

Tama ka diyan sir pero minsan nagiging comfortable na ang mga tao na lumabas.
Can't blame them.
Probably asymptomatic. Hopefully wala talaga of course. Di ko lang nagustuhan is yung mayor namin nag pa live band sa public place, every saturday yata yun at maraming crticism, ewan ko, pwede na ba yan under ECQ?
No idea, pero safe to assume na bawal dapat. Not because "zero-cases" e pwede na sila magpa-event ng ganun.

Good news, i'll consider Namecheap if i ever plan to buy domain or/and rent a VPS. They should announce about new payment processor at their blog and social media though, since i don't see any.
Have been using Namecheap for 3 years for their domains and haven't had a single problem as of yet. Same here. I would definitely recommend them for buying domains. Not sure I'd choose them for hosting though, Vultr is a way better alternative for that. Funnily enough, my first venture to the blogging world was also using the Namecheap + Vultr setup lmao. Simply because Vultr was one of the services I've took a look at early on that accepted BTC. Unfortunately though, Vultr is still using BitPay. Like fuck damnit Vultr.

Have been using Namecheap for 3 years for their domains and haven't had a single problem as of yet. As for an announcement, it was just a tweet from their CEO(@NamecheapCEO), and a retweet from their official Twitter account(@namecheap). Better than nothing, I guess.
