I don't think it will ever hit the mainstream in future and the reason is not every one will prefer to use bitcoin and Government will never give it a green signal to replace their national currency. That's true, but at the same time there are countries which were planning to make their own digital currency. As mentioned in the above quote mainstream usage is highly impossible because there are lot currencies that were with great history and backing compared to bitcoin. Also physical form is an major factor, if bitcoin gets physical form increased use and acceptance can be experienced. |
