I notice many ranked account from member's to legendary involved with ANN bumping with simple comment "great project". Usually I visit ANN thread to find spammer and bot. Once I see any ranked account spamming than obviously I visit his post history. I surprised they are bumping ANN Thread randomly. Of course I report all of spam post.

Just want to know how many good report need to permaban for ranked account? There is different good report need for each rank ? Like newbie need 1 good report for temp ban and 3 good report for permaban (AFAIK). It will helpful for me if I got correct answer. So I can report other spammer instead of reporting whole post history of ranked account.

I don't think they bought copper membership after became legendary. Like me, I bought copper membership once I was newbie. But now I am full member, but I really don't like to remove copper membership as well as I paid for it. I can't see anything bad for ware this title.

After become legendary buy copper membership means waste of money.

As far as we know there is no any guidelines or rules for bounty managers. Bounty section became a important part of this forum. Bounty managers almost directly involved with spam. We can see different reaction regarding bounty managers from members. Day by day increasing scammy and spammy activity on bounty section.

Lot of members suggested different opinion to avoid spam and scam from forum. But I think nothing is possible without theymos help. Theymos should publish a guidelines for bounty managers. I write few suggestion (draft) below, theymos could consider some of them if need.  


Best option for me if required Bitcoin for bounty campaign. ERC-20 is useless until it listed on reputed exchange. Since this is Bitcoin forum so forum could require Bitcoin for bounty award. Bounty means advertising on this forum. If require btc payment by escrow than we can avoid scam & spam. At least they will not able to scam bounty hunters. I think theymos will not agree with it. So I would like to suggest to implement some guidelines or rules bounty managers. Forum should not give them freedom to promote scam ICO's.  

• Bounty manager's shouldn't ask submit report on OP, bounty report should collect by Google form. Proof of annunciation can be post to avoid bounty cheaters.
  
• Since scam(upcoming or ongoing) are not moderated by forum, no stake distribution on time frame will consider for scam. If a manager failed to distribution stake among bounty participant he should get temp ban for each campaign. 3 temp ban result will be permaban.
  

• Managers shouldn't ask or forced more than 20 post per week for alt coin reward to avoid spam. Or they can pay per post
• Managers shouldn't accept spammer and spam post on count.

• Bounty managers shouldn't not ask reply on thread for airdrop, bounty and ANN Thread. If asked than thread should be trashed and OP should get temp ban
• Thread should be locked after stake distributions.  Because sometimes people's reply even bounty is over.

• BM should lock bounty, ANN and Airdrop thread if team unable to give appropriate answers against scam accusation.
  
• Bumping thread with similar word of "great project" by newbie and Jr. Member is prohibited.  More than 15 comment a day like this will consider paid bumping except constructive discussion. If use paid bumping, thread should be trashed and OP should get temp ban.
  

• Bounty manager's should not spend merit on his own bounty thread.
• If need KYC approval for receive stake BM should mention in bounty thread. No mention means there isn't require KYC in order to get stake.
  

• Both account should ban if caught managing bounty with alt account to avoid ban evasion.
  
• Bounty manager's could add disclaimer on bounty thread, it's doesn't mean he/she will not get ban if stake isn't distributed on time. Bounty manager fully responsible if stake not distributed for hunters.
  

• Duplicate thread are not allowed if previous thread trashed by moderators.
• Bounty budget shouldn't decrease after end of campaign if there is more than 100 participant on spreadsheet.

• Bounty thread should made self moderated to delete spam post. ( I am not encourage made self moderated thread for ANN. Because peoples will not able to share true opinion. They might be delete all negative comments. Better option is remove self moderated option from Altcoins Announcement section)    

• Ponzi scheme should not allow to promote on bounty section. ( All ponzi scheme turn into scam eventually)

There is few question if bounty managed by themselves how it will control. My opinion, let them do it themselves by getting copper membership. At least reputed and rank members are not related with them. If hunters trust them and participate on bounty than nothing we can do.  But rules should applicable for all main poster.

Since lot of DT member's inactive, is it possible add new DT ?

I was made a post about demoted member's. To be honest your post history is responsible for your unmerited status. After implement 1 merit to become Jr member, lot of people's trying to make constructive and quality post. Then also they are not getting merit. Only reasone is their post history. I am proof of that. I noticed few post deserve merit, but once I visit their post history there are only bounty report and online post. So it's discourage me for send merit to them. I don't know what is problem if you delete your spam post, and participate on constructive discussion. Most of seniors are visiting post history before send merit to demoted newbie and also I think it should be. You can't expect merit just creating single constructive or quality post if your post history is spammy.

Still I will strongly suggest, delete your post history those are spam. Then try to make or perticipate on constructive discussion. Perhaps some one will merited you.

I strongly believe, if a newbie delete his all spam post and perticipate on constructive discussion they will easily gain 1 merit. Mostly seniors are visiting post history before meriting newbie. Main problem they just trying to make only one quality post in order to get merit. Unfortunately mist of them are failed. Meta is one of proof that they are trying just get 1 merit. They are not trying to contribute something.

Agree with it, but problem is most of newbie don't know about self moderated thread (IMO). I think I should make thread about it and explain benifits of selfmoderatrd thread to avoid spam. Or if there is others thread than it should be up.


Exactly, I already mentioned it on avoid spam row. Thread could be locked after got appropriate answer in order to avoid spam. Usually people's just make similar answer if thread isn't locked.  So it will be most helpful.

Just realized right now, blaming merit source or an potential member by newbie doesn't make sense. During visit Altcoin Discussion board I was seeking to help demoted newbie. But unfortunately I used report to moderator button instead of merit button. Almost an hour I spend to find someone's for send merit. But most of post less than one line and others are just repeating same thing. That's why I realized why merit source and others potential member's discourage to visit such as board in order to help demoted newbie. Newbie with quality post are deserve merit but how to send merit for spambie. Also I noticed merit abuse on few post. People's still unable to improve their posting behaviour. Demoted newbies just blaming without improve their posting behaviour.

I believe slowly people's will change their posting behaviour in order to make decent forum. I think new merit system almost working effectively to reduce spam. Not sure how long it will take time spam free forum.

Scam ICO isn't not necessary. Obviously ICO is the one of famous way to raise fund and build a community. A potential ICO keep important role in crypto industry. For example ETH was introduced by ICO. But currently we can't see much potential project of ICO. Most of are scammer. In my opinion 90% project became scam. How people's will trust on ICO. I think there should be something new instead of ICO for security of investor. Like project could use escrow, if any project use escrow for raise fund I believe people's will encourage again for invest on ICO. However a potential ICO keeping role to expand crypto world. So I believe there is still necessary for potential ICO's.

To be honest we are all getting benefits from this forum. It could be money, knowledge or experience. But what we are contribute for forum? What is our role to improve forum? Did you think ? You shouldn't help to improve and build a decent forum? I think there is so many option to help and build a decent forum that we could keep our roles.

Introduce new people's:
Somehow this forum introduced to us by others. May be our friends, family or other social media. This forum created by satoshi to introduced and expands knowledge about Bitcoin. So we can help this forum by introducing new people's in order to build a strong community of Bitcoin. Although currently many alt coin board is here to discuses about others cryptocurrency. So by inviting new members you can spread the word about cryptocurrency on the world and build a strong community.

Follow rules & Explain rules;
First we have to follow forum rules for build a decent forum. Once you invite or introduce someone you should explain him/her about forum rules. Don't just invite for earn money, they should meet the rules of this forum. This is the most important thing for this forum. A newbie should know about rules, spam, merit system, trust system and others. It can't possible to make a decent forum without following rules. This is your responsibility to explain all the thing once you invite someone's. You can read all important post    
[GUIDES] on Bitcointalk. Index thread, so it will be more easy to explain others.

Avoid spam:
We should avoid spam ourselves, before posting any board we must read pin post. Spamming is the main problem now in this forum. People's just replying unnecessary for signature or for increase activity. Our reply should constructive according to original post. We should avoid relying or posting those think already discussed on this forum. In case if you made a post that are discussed already before and someone mention you, you should locked or delete the topic in order to avoid further spam. If you have any question search before you make post and you should lock thread after got answers. So other people's will not able to spam on your thread. Don't reply if you don't have proper knowledge according to main thread.

Report spam:
You can see there is option report to moderator on right bottom of every post. Use it once you found spam post. If you find any post that are against of forum rules then help forum by reporting moderator. Once you report a post moderators will handle it. Lot of important discussion lose for spamming. You can report easily from patrol, especially newbie spammers. You can follow this post how to report and when you should report. [Guide] Reporting effectively

Report corruption:
Lot of corruption occurring on forum, you can identify them and post on Reputation to take appropriate action by moderators and default trusted(DT) member's. Like bounty cheater, merit abuser, scammer and others which is against of forum rules. Since there are many scam ICO on this forum, you can report it on Scam Accusation board. So people's can save their money from scammers. You can read this thread how to identify scam ICO.

Share your knowledge and Help others:
You can help people's by sharing your knowledge and experience. It's not important a person should have knowledge on every subject but which subject you know best just share it with community. May be someone will learn from you. But it should be crypto related knowledge. Off topic are not much important and you should avoid it. If you want discuss off topic there is a board for off-topic. If if you have best idea to improve this forum you can suggest to meta. But it should be helpful for forum.

Hand over your smerit:
Whoever are making quality or useful topic they are receiving merit from others and obviously they deserve it. So if you one of them(received merits) then please don't hold your smerit, just handover to others by send merit on quality post. If you not found quality post then at least spend your smerit on good post. Holding your smerit is not any benefit for you. So please try to help others especially to low rank.


Default Tust (DT) member selection: *New*
Forum give us opportunities to choose DT member ourselves. As well as you know DT members help keep forum safe and clean, especially from scammers. You can keep your role on selection of DT members if you already earned more then 10 merits. You can vote a person for selection of DT if you earned 10 merit. So if you earned 50 merit you can vote 5 people's. For more details you can read DefaultTrust changes. How can you vote ? It's very simple, just go to your Trust Settings, add the name on empty box taht you like to vote and click "Update". So help forum by selecting DT members whoever deserve according to your opinions.

Theymos start a post get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on August 19, 2011. Post last edited on October 3, 2011 and thread is still alive.

I am not sure, perhaps theymos no need donation for forum;

However, there is still  opportunity to get vip and donator status. I believe few peoples encourage to get such as status although any one can donate any amount to show appreciation.

I think theymos should reconsider amount for donation accordingly bitcoin price. On August 2011 bitcoin price was 10-12$ only, That means 10BTC=100-120$.


Most likely theymos calculate according to one month hosting payment. I don't know how much is current hosting cost for a month but I don't think it will be worth of 10BTC. So I think theymos could consider donator status for worth of one month hosting payment.

I think this is almost became impossible to get VIP status lately. Also theymos should reconsider about it accordingly bitcoin price.

Although theymos no need donation but I think many peoples willing to get Donator and VIP status. Especially I saw few post regarding custom title, few peoples want to get custom title. I think forum will not lose anything if reduce amount but members will get benefit by custom title(whoever willing). 

Just post on Reputation board after caught them. Since bounty isn't moderated by forum DT will handle this with trust system. I think it will not happened if managers asking for proof of authentication. It's mostly depend on managers how they are going to manage bounty. Unfortunately there isn't any guidelines for bounty managers. I am working on it to make a draft, I will post it soon for community. Perhaps moderator or admin could consider for few guidelines for BM.

If people trust you with fake photo than why not write on site "our team members photo taken from stock image". Your starting with fake photo, how we expect good result from you ? I think you don't have other way to recover account. If account hacked than how you are going to prove your account. If you locked account but it's under control you than might be possible unlock. If email and password changed by hackers than it's difficult to recover. So many people's waiting from year's for recover account. Edit your post with profile link and with more details, mode could check current condition.

If a user not contribute something from himself and he just copy paste from others artical I will call it soft spam even there us useful content. Every one can quote from reference link but it doesn't mean they just copy paste total post. In that case reporting to moderators will not work. They will not consider as spam.  Also you can't report for plagiarism as well he added reference link. But if a user doing same thing continuously than you should PM to moderators with description.


If I merit newbie I check his post history. Especially after implement new merit system. Because they could copy paste other post or from others articals. So they made one decent post it doesn't mean they are not spammer if his post history full with spam post. But I encourage to send merit new people if they are not spammer. But it's really depend on sender. There is no rule that you should visit post history. Usually a decent post deserve merit.
