8381  Other / Politics & Society / Re: UK clients buy £1 billion in gold on: June 25, 2016, 09:39:39 PM
but why didn't they buy dollars or euros?  It's because Brexit may lead to a banking crisis with bail-ins.
8382  Other / Politics & Society / Re: VOTE BREXIT on 23 June, UK on: June 25, 2016, 09:36:43 PM
I don't understand your post. We "oldies" voted for Brexit because we can see the way the world is going. We are aware that there is more to life than Facebook.
8383  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 1.1m+ GB resident demand for second EU referendum. on: June 25, 2016, 09:25:19 PM
There is no sign of any tearing apart that I have seen. But I'm not in Westminster.

Will Britain become great again? Well the structure of society has changed, so it will never rebuild past glories. It is quite a complex society, and many people don't really understand it. There is a lot of history as well. For example, our top schools are called "public schools" in other countries those are the lowest schools. However it is quite capable of adapting to the modern world and become prosperous again. We just need to get rid of the banking leeches now that we have dumped the EU.
8384  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 1.1m+ GB resident demand for second EU referendum. on: June 25, 2016, 09:09:50 PM
and a baby will live even longer. So lets teach all babies to write an "X", and give them the vote.
8385  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The destruction of the UK has started on: June 25, 2016, 09:04:48 PM
I hope Scotland does stay in the UK. The Scots contribute a lot to our economy.

Now how about this one - I think Sothern Ireland should leave the EU, and join the UK. We wouldn't rip them off the way the EU has/is. Smiley
8386  Other / Politics & Society / and the next Brexit topic is - The London Stock Exchange on: June 25, 2016, 08:57:57 PM
http://www.standard.co.uk/business/france-sticks-knife-into-london-stock-exchangedeutsche-b-rse-merger-a3279391.html

It seems France is trying to block the merger of the London Stock Exchange and the German one because it will impact the EU stock exchange. They are asking the EU to intervene.

Haven't they heard of blockchain technology? Smiley

with all this politicking, I should have been a sig whore. Smiley
8387  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The destruction of the UK has started on: June 25, 2016, 06:50:45 PM
I see from the slogan under your post count that you don't believe in your country. I think that's really sad. Everybody should believe in their country, and give thanks for theiir upbringing. I believe in my country, and the people here. It's the government that is crap, and we're getting rid of them.
8388  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fuel prices are down since Brexit on: June 25, 2016, 06:44:15 PM
So once again Britain has helped everybody. Well maybe not the frackers. Smiley
8389  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fuel prices are down since Brexit on: June 25, 2016, 06:06:09 PM
I've just been talking to a friend - he's a TIG welder at a small local manufacturing company. They've just increased his working hours from 7am to 7pm to cope with current orders. Now I can understand that, buyers are taking advantage of the low pound. I just hope Cameron doesn't punish us by pushing it up.
8390  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 1.1m+ GB resident demand for second EU referendum. on: June 25, 2016, 05:11:07 PM
I'm concerned that he will allow another spate of QE to push up house prices, and he will try to prop up the pound.
8391  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Which country will be next to alight from the sinking EU ship? on: June 25, 2016, 05:08:29 PM

I just hope that France will never be dumb enough for voting leave... But if Germany or France leave, EU no longer exist that's as simple as that.

The French aren't dumb, they told the US to poke their sanctions against Russia, and they are already looking at leaving I understand.
8392  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 1.1m+ GB resident demand for second EU referendum. on: June 25, 2016, 05:03:33 PM
I think the whole referendum was a sham. I gather 7% of UKIP members were reported as voting for remain. If Cameron can't even win a manipulated referendum, do we really want him negotiating anything on our behalf. Smiley
8393  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 1.1m+ GB resident demand for second EU referendum. on: June 25, 2016, 04:19:13 PM
Actually the 48% also includes thousand of immigrants who were sent papers by mistake - I wonder how they voted. This shows the lengths the current government will go to to get their way. Brexit wasn't just a vote to leave, it was a vote ogf no confidence in the current venal government.
8394  Other / Politics & Society / Re: VOTE BREXIT on 23 June, UK on: June 25, 2016, 04:11:48 PM

Ah! And how those old fags could know the world better than their children? The good old "we're older, we've got the experience we know better than you" is totally outdated nowadays. Are you seriously saying that someone who was born without internet and lived most of his life without any kind of modern technologie in a world where you never went farther than 40 km from home, is better to decide about your future than yourself? Roll Eyes

I've got over 50 years of computer experience. I started on an IBM 421

I've driven from San Francisco to Tallahassee (amongst other jouneys)

How long have you been in computers, and how much have you travelled?

and I'm not a fag - either a cigarette end or a homosexual
8395  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Spain calls for co-sovereignty on Gibraltar on: June 25, 2016, 04:05:56 PM
If the EU was a trading block, then we wouldn't be leaving. It's because it's the precursor to TTIP that we need to get out fast.
8396  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coincidence that Sun and Moon seem same size or God's work? on: June 25, 2016, 04:03:22 PM
It's heavier now that we have sent so much hardware up there. Smiley
8397  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Brexit from NATO? on: June 25, 2016, 03:56:55 PM
The problem with NATO is that it keeps maintaining proxy wars for America. Now that Russian weapons are surpassing those of the US, maybe they will rethink their policy. US sanctions strengthened Russia, and they are now growing some of the healthiest food in the world. US meat is banned in many countries because of the drugs pumped into the poor animals.
8398  Other / Politics & Society / Re: UK leaving EU is a peoples revolution on: June 25, 2016, 03:50:38 PM
Blahblahblah...

Again you're missing the real point...
No benefits from the EU??? And what about the international exchange of students? What about research? What about tourism? What about international regulation?

Because you think leaving the EU will help breaking the financial in any way? xD
Please explain that to me! Because it won't do any shit. Please ask yourself why the Sun is so happy about the leaving vote --'

Many so-called students arriving here are terrorists or benefits fraudsters, and don't even bother to attend colleges.
Research? We don't need their research based on UK researchers, we can do it at home.
Tourism - We get loads of tourists from countries that want to see our culture and our heritage. We don't need whingers who complain because our sausages aren't fat and lumpy.
International regulation - We are leaving to get away from that.

Brexit won't break the financial institutions. They are doing that on their own ( with a bit of help from Bitcoin).
8399  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Brexit: the beginning of the end? on: June 25, 2016, 03:37:34 PM
We need to be protected from the terrible Russians. It was an act of war for them to place their country so close to the US military bases.
8400  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would u still use Bitcoin if u were a USD multi millionaire? on: June 25, 2016, 03:25:23 PM
I noticed a strange thing the other day. Some peculiar people were exchanging Bitcoin for goods.
