My picks. Again worked out after hours and hours of research (read: guessed) from a friend of mine.

Brescia Calcio - Parma Calcio 1913 DRAW
Genoa CFC - FC Inter Milano
SSC Napoli - US Sassuolo Calcio
Southampton FC - Sheffield United
Newcastle United - Liverpool FC
Manchester City - Norwich City
Leicester City - Manchester United
Everton FC - AFC Bournemouth
Crystal Palace - Tottenham Hotspur
Chelsea FC - Wolverhampton Wanderers
Burnley FC - Brighton & Hove Albion
Arsenal FC - Watford FC
West Ham United - Aston Villa
AS Roma - AFC Fiorentina
Juventus Turin - UC Sampdoria

He said, he only picks the draw, when he is unsure, so I can expect 14/15 here, lol. Too many favourites for my liking, but lets see.

Follow them if you want but the first one is a bias bet because I want see Watford stay in the Premier league and have West ham beat on Aston villa to drive them back into the regulation zone again. Tongue

Arsenal-Watford is really hard to predict, but could get interesting for live betting. If I was Aston Villa, I would just sit back, look not to concede and watch what happens at Arsenal. If Watford takes the lead, I can still open up more. If Arsenal takes the lead, I can stay with a more passive approach and go for 0-0.
If Villa takes the lead, then Watford will have to score some goals and this could lead to a crazy game.

Also many of us including me have said before, and I’ll repeat that I strongly feel that Thiem can win this tournament, as there’s no competition for him unless Djokovic decides to participate in the tournament.

I am wondering, if he can be proud of it, if he does and if it would be an enjoyable moment for him. He will be in the history books, but for me it would be with an asterisk next to it, if the best players are missing.
Even with all the money involved and to be earned, these guys are sportsman and competitiors by heart and I wouldn't feel too proud, if I win the US Open this year under these circumstances. But maybe thats just me. It's still an achievement, but would leave a bad taste in my mouth nonetheless.

It's a bit like Federer finally winning Roland Garros in 2009. He completed his personal Grand Slam, but he didn't beat the clay GOAT en route to it. So for me this win has a little asterisk to it as well and I wonder if Federer feels a bit the same. When I win something, I want to do it against the best of the best and not against a weakened field to be 100% proud and able to enjoy it.

Verona game was at 745 UTC (server time) so half time is at 830. Your post was at 8:10.

Well, it was a live bet and the odds look reasonable, but I agree with the rest you said. Posting live bets is a bit meh, since you can barely follow them (with the same odds/value).

-

This looks very martingale-ish and/or chasing losses with making bigger and bigger bets, until you hit and have good "stats" again to show to people. Not very sustainable and I expect these $1000 to be lost soon, unless OP changes his staking Smiley And probably the bets too; hard to find pre-match value in the bigger leagues and singles are better than parlays. Slow and steady wins the race Wink

Does anyone else think, that the WH bypassing the CDC with Corona reporting is just to possibly manipulate the data ?

I think we have entered phase 2 with this "plan" now Smiley As everyone might have heard, Trump is now advocating wearing masks etc. and he did his first Corona briefing since late April again. Now with the numbers getting possibly (artificially) lower in the upcoming weeks, he can brag about it. At the point HE started telling people how to handle things, the numbers have improved tremendously.

I would be curious to see, what would happen, if Trump did a complete 180. Like telling: I was wrong, this is no hoax, wear masks, do more local lockdowns, I should have taken this more seriously, I am sorry etc. Now this will never happen, but would still be interesting to witness the reactions to it and if it could help him for his ultimate goal of getting re-elected.

Man kann auch nicht sagen, dass der einfach nur ein Dampfplauderer ist, weil der von CfB immer schön "belastende" Sachen zugespielt bekommt (wenn nicht sogar Hund = CfB).
Er sagt Nein.

Are you Sergey Ivancheglo?

No. If you read our live conversations in the spec channel of Paracosm Discord you can clearly see that we are two different persons with different communication styles.

Bin wirklich hin- und hergerissen was IOTA betrifft.
847  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do only crypto payments cost customers? on: July 21, 2020, 04:47:46 PM
Would you prefer to pay in Paypal or Bitcoin (no matter what kind of service it is)?

I would do Paypal, since it's more convenient for me in the end all things considered. But especially with what @o_e_l_e_o mentioned regarding maybe wanting to stay kind of anonymous, I could also see me going the BTC route. Really hard to give an one fits all opinion, with the few information you provided Wink

I think your service will have something to do with gambling/betting and if thats the case, then you should look into Skrill/Neteller/ecoPayz as well, Paypal is not that common with gambling.

As @suchmoon hinted, fiat is still the elephant in the room in general and it's the same with betting/gambling. Don't get fooled by the gambling section, where there seems to be a huge hype around gambling with crypto. Gambling is still a fiat business; but it's getting better Wink

This survey in general is probably not very representative in a Bitcoin forum. If you have 50/50 here, you will have 10/90 in a non-crypto forum - or even less. Not offering any kind of fiat payment, will cost you a lot of potential customers imo.
848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Betting & Discussion] Chinese Basketball Association - Rest of 2019/2020 Season on: July 21, 2020, 04:40:04 PM
Beijing - Fujian ML Beijing @1.76 7/10 (FJ)

Beijing needs this win badly to secure a spot in Top4. They even rested their best player against Sichuan in last game to have him fresh for this game. Fujian has not a lot to play for - they will finish in Top12 and if it's better to finish #12, #11, #10 etc. is yet unknown. Beijing is the way better team overall and I could even imagine Fujian giving some rest to their players.

Edit:

FJ copied the odds from Marathon/1xbit without Bet365 having published their odds yet (they are benchmark). Bet365 opened like 30min later with 1.34 for Beijing and it's down to 1.25 now even. I won't count this bet for the stats, since there is no point in just pimping the stats, without anyone being able to follow the bets. And I doubt anyone was able to follow.......

849  Economy / Gambling / Re: #3 Bitcointalk Poker Series (0.05 BTC & BIG BTC Ticket sponsored by SwC Poker) on: July 21, 2020, 09:29:04 AM
I got dumped out after 12 minutes this week. I wasn't trying any clever get rich strategy.

I think you overplayed your ace a bit, also considering the flop was AQX, where AQ beats your AT as well and I did a 2.5BB pre-flop raise, which you then re-raised to 5BB. But tbf it's always super hard to spot a set - one of the hardest things in Poker (for me ?). On lets say a AJ3 flop, that 3 looks like a blank, but can actually mean a super strong hand for your opponent. In the end it comes down to all this again:

Let your winners run and cut your losses short they say in betting; so the advanced players have kind of mastered the art of losing few while being beat and winning a lot when things to their way.

I think even the best players are struggling to spot sets, but they are doing much better in anticipating the possible danger, be it via analyzing pre-flop raises, post-flop bet sizes, experience or pure gut feeling.
Problem is, when you concentrate too much on possible sets, you will just see them everywhere on any given flop Grin They are curse and blessing at the same time - and if I was asked to do new rules, I would eliminate them Tongue

No good bets in the past days. It doesn't mean that I don't play anything, but there is nothing that I can really recommend with clean conscience for people to probably follow. For today I placed a bet on Shandong ML, when the odds came out with medium stakes:

Getting up this morning, I checked the odds movements and saw this Grin:

I tried to search for information, why these odds were going so heavily against me, but have no idea. I only know, that Shandong will not win this match. This is probably fixed or lots of Shandong players got sick, which is not made public and only certain people know of. Lets see what the line-ups will look like.
851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: July 20, 2020, 10:00:35 AM
You sure about that always one sport? I am quite sure there was a couple of MM where there was some eSport and football. Last mixed one was when there was just Bundesliga 1 & 2 and they added 2 CS matches, mousesports on both of them. I remember it because I knew from the beginning I would miss those 2 games.

Yep, remember now as well Grin My bad (memory). But as cryptofrka said, it was maybe more due to lack of proper matches and they had to fill up things. There should be enough football in the coming weeks.

It would be fun to have more sports in it though.

Would like that too, but won't happen imo, since football is still the sport that is the most interesting for the majority and where everyone thinks he is the most knowledgeable person ever Cheesy A mixed MM with Tennis, Formula 1, Basketball, Baseball etc. would be fun though.
852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: July 20, 2020, 09:39:32 AM
"I" finished with 7/15, which is kind of standard for me, but I will give my friend another chance this weekend. 11/15 is an unbelievable performance from the winners with all these random games.

Regarding to your question, is there any chance that they'll include MLB in the upcoming MM? If I'm not mistaken, they'll be starting their season this week.

Don't see this. Afaik they never had a mixed MM, but it was always one sport only and I can't imagine them doing a MLB edition, as long as there is football going on. And 3-way markets are a bit safer for them Wink

I think we will see 1 or 2 chinese football matches in the upcoming MM.
853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Art of Exploiting vs the Bad Habit of Scamming on: July 19, 2020, 09:10:11 PM
With that said, though, how can we be so sure that a 1% house edge is not a rip-off? We just feel that's kinda normal (read, small), but do we really know that for certain, as in justified true belief (the classical definition of knowledge), with emphasis on true? Has it never occurred to you why exactly the house edge is so small? Would it really be enough to cover the costs if it were only for the house edge and nothing else? If most profits actually come from the casino's bankroll as discussed in this thread (with which you must be familiar), then even a 1% house edge might be a rip-off, after all. And then things may start to look differently (to a cheater, at least)

In general I think a 1% house edge is fine, unless we know the turnover a certain casino has, because 1% can be huge or tiny profit. Since no casino will publish their turnover, I would then assume that it's not a rip-off, until I get those numbers. So to answer your question: Do we know for sure that it's not a rip-off ? No.

The house edge is so small, because casino will always win longterm - risk-free. Could it be even lower ? Probably, but without numbers hard to judge. I have no idea what it costs to run an online casino and what turnover you can generate. The sheer number of casinos popping up suggests they are making good money though; in a market that never seems to get saturated.

With this higher bankroll thing (link doesn't work btw), I already told you that it's too far from reality for me. Yes, you have your street games example, but everyone is free to have a higher bankroll than the house and you can't call people rip-off artists just for that.

Gratz @Iv4n

The rankings after 4/8 tournaments played:

~
@Betwrong got a good streak running with finishing in the points 11 times in a row, chapeau.
~

Thank you!

I jinxed that one perfectly, sorry Wink

I was recovering well and managed to get 3.6kish chips but dumb play and lack of luck (luck favored tyKiwanuka) I am out at 13th I guess.

Sorry for getting lucky as 62.5% favourite, won't happen again Wink

@tyKiwanuka, any news from our friend here? I hope he has return the chip that you gave him

No. The user is no scammer (I think), just unreliable and careless, so I will get the money back sooner or later.

Since it shouldn't be much of a challenge to finish higher than efialtis, I will bravely re-invest my expected bounty into another WILDCARD for todays tournament. Same rules as before:

1) You are a newbie to our series.
2) You are not a newbie in this forum.
3) First come, first serve.
4) You will not suck me out Grin jk

Just post your SwC name in here and I will send you the buy-in via P2P transfer on SwC and the password via PM here.

No wildcard was given out for today, so it's available for next Sunday, if anyone is interested.
855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why isn't crypto poker popular? on: July 19, 2020, 01:08:23 PM
The problem with Poker is: You always need a big pool of players to make it attractive for other players to join your site. If there are only few players and it takes ages for tables to fill up, this turns nearly all people off. You can bet at a bookmaker, where you are the only customer, you can play at an (online) casino, where you are the only player - you are not dependant how many other players there are to make it more fun.

In Poker you have this big powerhouse called PokerStars, where you find more or less perfect conditions for everything you need and want when playing Poker. All kind of tournaments, cash games, sit'n go's for every size of bankrolls and never short of players - 24 hours for 7 days a week. All other sites don't have this and are struggling in this department. Not only crypto Poker sites, but also other fiat ones. And when you have a place, where everything is perfect, you won't leave that easily. Since there are no limitations like in bookmakers, you are also not urged to look for other possibilities.

In general Poker has been on the decline since years imo, with some spike again during this pandemic, because people spent/spend more time at home and were bored Smiley

857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian Serie A Football Pool Discussion Thread on: July 19, 2020, 10:46:29 AM
I would be interested in joining too. Community games are always fun, although I am not that much into Serie A and generally poor with my pre-match predictions. But at least none of you guys will finish last, if I join Wink

Not familiar with Superbru and I wanted to know, if there is a restriction (possible and/or planned) on how often you can pick certain scores for a round ? In some private pools I joined in the past, you would always have people picking 2-1/1-1/1-0 for all games, so the most common results in football. This is kind of lame I think and always turned me off.

For escrow I am fine with you @Trofo or any other established member.

A-Game tonight!  Cool

Rofl, your A-Game is still worse than everyones C-Game Cool

Proof:

A lot of bounties tonight, who will keep track of all that?

The finish-higher-than efialtis bounties are easy to track afterwards.

For the beat-me-with-this-hand bounties, I would suggest to make a screenshot of it and post it immediately in this thread with a list, where you strike out the hand. Like this:

2-7
2-8
3-8
2-9
2-6
T-2
A-4

860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football in China - The Chinese Super League on: July 18, 2020, 06:12:08 PM
On paper there look to be loads of good bets; will add these two with medium stakes:

Wuhan - Qingdao Wuhan -0.25 @1.88 4/10
Henan - Jiangsu Jiangsu ML @1.65 4/10

Qingdao and Henan are struggling mightily with their personnel - Henan doesn't even have any coaching staff right now -  while Jiangsu/Wuhan have all players/staff available. For those smaller and weaker teams it doesn't matter that much, where they finish in the group stage, they should look to be at their peak in the 2nd phase.

Thanks for the heads up @notblox1, my bad and I fixed it Smiley
