Update: Batch Refund Processing

Status
After today's response from BitsynCom, what we have is:
  • Avalon prefers to refund in full
  • partial compensation should be implemented by a full refund followed by ordering in-stock chips for lowered prices
  • no compensation with more chips possible (due to short supply)
  • no upgrade to next-gen products, which would be the old pre-order madness again

At the other side we have:
  • users willing to take the refunds and forget
  • users willing to wait for their chips to build their boards
  • users demanding a compensation if they wait longer

To not over-complicate the process, I propose to limit it to the two obvious choices: a) full refund now, or b) keep waiting. For those with chips in one of the next batches, I'll try to get some shipping estimate from Avalon, but as we have seen how difficult it is to predict those, such an ETA might not be reliable at all. Those demanding their chips plus some compensation for the delay should follow the proposed approach: get a refund now and order chips later when they are in stock and cheaper. You do not need to cancel the order at your manufacturer, but instead postpone the finalization of the boards.

Refund Processing
To get things started, I need everyones binding decision on this. Everyone please evaluate your personal situation and perform your mining profitability calculations. If you conclude you'd like to get your order refunded, please do this by sending this single CSV formatted line for each order you want refunded
Code:
<forum nick>;<-N>;<-C>;<address>
to the related email address. Please send from the mail you registered with at my website to ensure authenticity, otherwise please add the signature for the above CSV-line with the given address.

If you want to keep waiting for your chips, just don't do anything right now.

Refunds will be distributed in full as soon as I receive them from Avalon.

Thanks for your support.

Will this group buy process the same way?

Any news about todays delivery?

How many orders can be shipped daily?

Is there enough stock to deliver all august orders, when you add additional H-boards to meet the hashing speed?

Any estimation when the last august order will be shipped?

852  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: August 29, 2013, 07:05:44 AM
Hey guys,

also received my boards.

4 Hboards, last time i checked they were hashing at about 87-92,5GH, unfortunatly i had no time to meassure power usage.

Installation was really like plug and play like the others have already stated.

Here are pics mounted inside my designed custom housing(please note this is Rev.A case)
Current design will be changed in many aspects, boards will be turned by 180°, PSU will be on other side, will be stackable and so on - but for first proto there was no more time to implement changes, because the rev2 mboard change came just too fast to react.

After mounting these I learned a lot for further case design and necessary production changes, please note that the mounting brackets of each hboard are not attached in this pics, had no more screws at hand at mounting location.
Also mounting holes and stuff fits really nicely and we can continue production of these now.

What was your order nr.? ... :-)

First orders shipped today! More to follow..

Exciting!

Starter kits benefit the most, as we are putting 2 H-cards in until we have achieved sustained noncerate (useful nonces) of over 25GH/s on one card.

Even more exciting!!

But wait, this doesn't mean the current speed of the H-cards is only 12,5 GH/s ?

No, it means I don't have time to desolder chips from them Smiley You'll be surprised what you get.

+ 1 .... *Pinch me - I must be dreaming

NEWS!!!

Thank you for your hard work and update. I don't see a problem the way you handle this, you guys are already outstanding compared to your competition and keep surprising me Smiley
How short of hasrate are we? And what happens to the starter kits I wonder?

Update time!

The good:
I'm back in Finland and testing has begun! I will ship first units tomorrow!

The bad:
Our preliminary tests show that the boards are falling a bit short on hashrate. This might be due to differences between wafers, immature software or SPI issues. Because we are in a hurry to ship, you win: I will ship your ordered hashrate regardless (ie. more hardware free of charge) until we fix this issue and can provide 400GH in one unit. We are thinking of producing a batch with higher core voltage, which will allow the chip to run faster, but this needs to be tested as well.

The ugly:
Tomorrow I will be figuring out best way to pack these and continue tests, software development and debugging. Softare is still heavily under development, and is not very user friendly. We push hard to make it more user friendly this week.

Our first orders were from Finland and I know many of these customers from IRC, so I asked if it was ok to ship with unfinished software, and they agreed. So stay tuned for first user reports Smiley

I apologize for radio silence on communication front. I just don't have the time and energy now for updates every day, and have no time to go through the amount of email I'm getting. I push hard to keep my word and ship before end of month, and it's taking all my time. I'll go back to e-mails and PMs after that.

Thank you for your support!

so ... sieht nach Lieferung in den kommenden Tagen aus ... :-) *...

any news ... about the august delivery?  Wink

The october 400gh kit was 7500euro,  but now it is 6500euro, will punin make refunds to who bought them with 7500euro?

Update

I've added option for UPS Express Saver shipping, and dropped the prices a bit as further october orders will most likely ship in very late october. Those who picked first october orders are likely to receive theirs in very early october, if not september.

Regarding invoices: there was a problem on the site. I will need to send invoices manually. You will get an invoice, don't worry.

I need to sleep now. Shanghai awaits tomorrow. I should have more news for you in about 30 hours.

If I understand it right, the 7500€ october orders will be delivred approx. a month earlier ... then the october orders for 6500€
