845  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Experimenting with Jalapeno firmware... on: June 27, 2013, 02:57:12 PM
I'm pretty sure they don't.
Yeah you can get them on ebay for only a few dollars also.
I might order one just to find out ... but I suspect the answer is no.

Edit: they also have to do JTAG

... I ordered a JTAG one on ebay (Total $15) and will see when I get it if it actually works ...
May be be a few weeks though.

Can you link avr jtag you bought plz.

thank you
846  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [HOWTO] flash your jalapeno to 8+ ghs on: June 27, 2013, 01:49:47 PM
you still can get some from OC 7gh/s but wont get much of out 7Gh/s than 5Gh/s to ??+ and depend grade chip A to D.

Anyone know if this avr jtag will work http://www.ebay.ca/itm/AVR-JTAG-USB-emulator-Debugger-download-AVR-JTAG-ICE-Download-Programmer-atmega-/200908327724?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ec711cb2c
848  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who designs a Mining Board for BFL Chips? on: June 27, 2013, 04:30:24 AM
What about treating a Jalapeno as a base to expand on? They are low cost, functional if not touched, expandable (still to be confirmed) and shipping.

There is the option of ordering a Jalapeno and using additional 3 chips, JTAG flashing with the released firmware and getting a 20 GH Miner for $274 + $150 + rework cost.

Actually with a 2 chip upgrade for $100 plus rework cost you may even be able to run 16GH with no upgrade to power or heatsink, as the enclosure was designed for 60W.

A Jalapeno and Chips ordered today may arrive around the same time (100+ days )

There are 6 spare pads on the Jalapeno which would need to be solder stenciled, reworked with the new chips, and flashed via JTAG.

I understand the solder stencil and rework will be risky with an already densely populated board though. Anyone else think this might fly?

yes, it will work.
849  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: flash your lalapeno to 8+ ghs on: June 27, 2013, 01:17:16 AM

I dont think this thing will work and you need Avr jtag programmer.

I did have an issue with their shopping cart when first visiting the page... seems fixed now, I did Email them about the web design though and did get a reply... their current website is hideous IMO.

Did you purchase?!

Yea, I bought a 2 BTC guy to test it out... what's a couple BTCs anyways? Tongue

I will let you know when I don't receive it so we can put the nail in the coffin on this guy I guess.... Sad

857  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] BFL 4 GH/s Chips - .57 btc per chip: 3050 available (450 sold) on: June 25, 2013, 01:09:27 PM
Will be price reduced if I provide my coupons?
From where chips will be snet and shipping is included or no?
Is there any other expenses, like taxes or customs, added to basic price? (I dont mean taxes and duties at my country)?

Thank You.
Milan

I dont think OP make much for .57 each chip and all work + buy 100 chips for shipping cost.

ps: some group buy charge you 5us on top with chip code for work.
