We won't be tagging as per this season's rules, but some of you play important matches and still haven't submitted.

Some of you even face the 3rd, elimination penalty. 3 more rounds to go, would be a shame to see it happen Smiley

thanks
sorry to bother, but I have a question regarding 7th question too
is it just third match that counts, or total from all three all star matches (not following really, so maybe just don't understand competition)?

It's a new format, it started last year. It's in the questions mostly because we have the Superbowl coming, and because it's being played according to the Flag rules, which might be interesting for those that never watched a game like this (myself included).

We'll count only the last match, that's how the competition works. You can find more about it here.

Quote
So here is how the scoring works.

First, the winning conference from each of the eight skills events — Dodgeball, Lightning Round, Longest Drive, Precision Passing, Best Catch, Gridiron Gauntlet, Move the Chains, and Kick Tac Toe — secures three points for their team. A total of 24 points are available over the eight events.

Second, two flag football games are played on Sunday, with the winning team earning six points for their conference. A total of 12 points are available over these two games.

Finally, the points accumulated from the eight skills events, and the first two flag football games, will serve as the starting score for the final event of the week, the third flag football game. The team that ends up winning the third and final flag football game will win The Pro Bowl Games.

So, for example, say the AFC wins Dodgeball, Lightning Round, Longest Drive, Precision Passing and Best Catch. That would give them 15 points, and the NFC nine points.

Then, the teams split the first two flag football games, giving each conference six points.

That means the starting score for the third and final flag game would be AFC 21 and NFC 15. From there, the game is played, and if the NFC can make up that six-point deficit, they would win The Pro Bowl Games. If not, the AFC would be crowned champions.

Hey, what do you know, Hhampuz pulled through, so I won my bet. Not settled yet, but surely in time to put all those winnings down on him again for the upcoming final.

Took a look at the questions and saw at least two will need closer inspection but decided to wing it anyway so I'll submit right after this post. Incidentally, was watching NFL a bit on the screen over the weekend, what?

This is my bad, I was sure I sent it to Stu yesterday morning but kids make my brain fuzzy. I sent it late in the evening after Trofo made me recheck, so hopefully it gets settled today/tomorrow.
I also have some winnings to collect Grin

reading questions, and just to clarify
for 5th question what is taking into account for coach, coach nationality or current club city that they are coaching?

interesting round all over, not easy at all to be unbiased with Everton/Leverkusen within questions, but what a heck, had to be realistic

We're asking for the coach's nationality.
845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: January 29, 2024, 07:27:26 PM
Well, i just submited my answers, i hope to grab some points really needed, the fight for relegation is on fire between 5 teams, which one of them is mine.

I play against one of the boss of the competition, i hope the referee doesnt play against me for pressures Tongue

I need points so bad, I'm gonna use all the tricks at my disposal.
Both jeremypwr and LTU_btc are playing against tough opposition, so if I win this round against you it might be a huge step toward safety.

I will submit soon as well, no real reason to wait. Considering that I've used 2 VAR's already, I don't want to be in a position in which I have to use my last one if there are some news about injuries in Arsenal or LFC squads.

If I see that one person is digging with a shovel, and another with an excavator, then I must make certain conclusions, but not immediately conclude that the one who is digging with an excavator is a master of working with a shovel. Until no one has seen Guardiola with a shovel, there is no point in talking about how good he is.

Precisely. If you wanna work with shovels, you take Sean Dyche, not Guardiola.
If you wanna do construction on a high level, good luck with your shovel masters.

You don't need to work with a shovel to be the best in your business. The ones that are mediocre do the shoveling.

We have our last results after penalties.

The 2nd Cup finalist is Hhampuz, who's having a dreamy start to BSFL, and LTU_btc wins his sidebet vs slaman29.
The Cup final will be between Hhampuz and chi20.

Results:
Hhampuz vs. Renato297   3-3 (3-2 pen)
slaman29 - LTU_btc (1mBTC)   2-2 (2-3 pen)

That Fiorentina penalty has to be one of the worst penalties I've ever seen anyone take when they are playing at home in a big game and while being down 0-1. Lol, thanks I guess  Cheesy

Yeah, I can't stand penalties like these.
To be fair to the guy though, he's an excellent penalty taker. Before yesterday he was on 18/19, so this is the 2nd one he's ever missed (the 1st one was in 2021).

@cryptofrka kindly change the deadline date in round 13 at the main page. Its dated 16th Jan instead of 30th if I'm not being wrong.

Done! Thanks.

I have gone through the questions, but on question 6 "Morocco needs extra time or penalties but still progresses to the semifinals" If I choose this answer, do they have to win both games in extra time/penalty kicks or just the one game?

One or both, doesn't matter.
848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 28, 2024, 08:05:51 PM
Where should I see greatness here? Or at least proof that he is above average?

In the football his teams are playing, you really don't need to go further than that.
Just look at the football some teams that spent more money than City have been showing.

He's a tactical revolutionary and his signature is seen on all the teams he's been working with. Sure, he trained the best ones, but what does that mean? That we should doubt Messi as well because he didn't do it on a rainy night in Stoke?
849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet.io AFCON 2024 prediction pool discussion thread on: January 28, 2024, 08:00:15 PM
Emilio Nsue, the AFCON's current top goal scorer cost me a potential 3 points, those points really would have been a huge one for me, and possibly push me further on the leader. If only he had scored score that penalty, it very much likely could have been a different game entirely as the least expectation would be the Equatorial Guinea protect that goal by all their means neccesary.

I was fuming because of that 98th minute goal, I had 0-0 in the predictor - which would have been huge for me.
I went to complain to Trofo and then he told me that Superbru actually counts the overtimes as well and that my 0-0 would have needed 30 more minutes to be valid.

Such a stupid rule, basically nobody will go for draws now until the end of the tournament.

We are continuing with the league, 3 more rounds to go and it's getting really exciting.

Questions for the Round 13 are here!

The deadline is January 30th, 18:00 GMT.
We have some American sports this time, NHL is really fun to watch in this format and NFL so you can prepare for the Superbowl.

Congratulations to imarios and Hhampuz for their Div3 titles and promotion to Division 2.

1 more team will surely get promoted from Division 3, potentially 2 of them depending on the last playoff results.

Division 3 playoffs look like this:

entebah - MAAManda
ILuckyGuyI - goodpunt
LFC_Bitcoin - shogun47
PedroCunhaYori - Jinetics1111

Check the playoff rules here (but please note that we almost certainly will not have a Division 4 next season and the new format for Division 3 is still to be confirmed):

I'm tagging just the ones that have something to play for, considering that Div3 won't be having freebets during the playoffs.

Oh, I misunderstood it then, haha. All good! I hope Fiorentina gets a goal early so it's over in that case  Cheesy

Would be, but for you Grin
You have them not to score (at least in BSFL).
852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: January 28, 2024, 07:13:21 PM
If Fiorentina scores but there are no yellow cards in 1st half, will it be decided by time of goal? Similarly if it's the other way around?

We're in for a real nail biter here  Grin

Penalties are like in real football - initially just best of 5 and the next ones go 1 by 1 only if it's still tied.
Considering that in the first 5 penalties the only different one is whether Fiorentina scores or not, it will be settled by that.

Basically, you can hedge it and play them to score - it's a win-win for you then.
853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: January 28, 2024, 07:07:29 PM
We have most of our results, we're waiting for the penalties on 2 matches.

Cup semifinals
Hhampuz vs. Renato297   3-3 (penalties, Fiorentina to score or not will be the decider)
Ulven vs. Chi20   1-3

Division 3B
shogun47 vs Hhampuz   3-4

Big congratulations to Hhampuz who joined at the last second and managed to get promoted in his 1st season.

Friendlies
slackovic - Trofo (50$)   1-2
Harkorede - cryptofrka (1mBTC)   3-6 (ouch, my man)
(Honest?) Alex - buwaytress (for fun)   6-3
Steve - Harkorede (for fun)   3-4
slaman29 - LTU_btc (1mBTC)   2-2 (penalties, Fiorentina to score or not will be the decider as well)

Round 13 questions will be posted a bit later tonight.

Cheers and congratulations to the winners, especially to Chi20 who I bet on Grin

Man, cryptofrka did himself a huge favour taking Medvedev early. Have a bit on Sinner with a friend so he's already bugging me for it.

Too sleepy to try take a live bet and Sportsbet app not responding bleh.

Well, not really in the end Grin
I texted Trofo when I started watching (beginning of 4th set) and told him 'shit, man - I'm losing this one'.
You could see Sinner turning it around, I would have cashed out for sure at 2-0 for Medvedev. Unfortunately, when I stopped playing football, they offered me 11 mBTC on a 20mBTC win - which I didn't take considering that Medvedev still basically needed only 1 bad game from Sinner.

KDB will play, he doesn't need to start. He'll do more in 30 minutes than most guys do in 300.
In a GW in which we all have a shitload of money (most expensive players are out), not going with KDB looks like a mistake.

I'll surely have him, probably won't take the risk of captaining him though.
856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 28, 2024, 06:19:28 PM
But here's the thing.  If the same amount of money was spent to build a team but the manager isn't as good as Guardiola or Klopp, let's say this manager is just 'decent'...  Would he achieve as much as Guardiola has acheived in his life time?

Some guys could say yes, some guys could say no and I would get it.  But then again that manager could also be given the sack before he's able to achieve what he was set to achieve.  There's so much pressure brought on the manager behind the huge sums spent in the transfer market.  And only a handful of managers in the world have the skill and the wits to handle it...

Even Zidane's exit showed it could take too much toll.

Many teams have tried to buy their ticket to success, especially in the PL. That's why I rate Guardiola (and especially Klopp) - United and Chelsea have spent more than City (and far more than Liverpool), Arsenal is close as well.
Both United and Chelsea are still without a long-term plan, without a visible manager signature on the pitch and without any sort of continuation with their results.

If you look at this United team - f%&k me, inheriting this pile of crap and doing something with it is the hardest job in football. You have 25 drastically overvalued players that haven't played a team game in their last 5 years.
The best thing would be to sell them all and just start over - but of course you can't do that. Chelsea tried and it didn't really work out for them.

The proof of a good coach lies in what they leave behind them as well. Klopp will leave Liverpool in a really good spot, and Guardiola will surely do the same.

859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2023/2024 on: January 28, 2024, 05:59:19 PM
Nunez haters, feel free to tell me I'm wrong about my main man. 21 goal involvements this season, per 90 minutes he is only behind Salah, Haaland. 1 goal/assist per 90 minutes. That's value!

He's improving, yeah. Still probably not good enough for LFC, but now we've got options - so if he continues like this I don't mind him being a part of rotation.
I'd still sell him, so I hope he continues scoring and a club with bad scouting comes and gets him. I really fear how bad he'll be in a different type of football - Klopp's style is the only one where he can excel and he hasn't really done that.

I know this probably isn't as bad as Maidstone kicking out Ipswich but you probably would have lost to them anyway!

This was actually quite bizarre, Ipswich had something like 6.5 xG compared to Maidstone's 0.85.
Happens occasionally, and you can't really blame them for the performance.

Dominant Liverpool once again, Anfield was buzzing - hope it continues like this every home game until the end of the season. We probably get Southampton home next, they play a repeat vs. Watford.

In other news, a strong United team struggling against Newport Grin
860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 28, 2024, 05:53:11 PM
Yeah, I didn't watch the first 3 sets (was playing football), but we sat for a drink after it and it was kinda obvious that Sinner will turn things around.
I don't know how Medvedev got 10 breeak points in the first 2 sets, I recall only 1 in the last 2 sets and that was calmly taken care off by Sinner.

I'm glad he won it, I've been telling everybody how good he actually is for the last 2-3 years. He's finally starting to show it - and he's still got room to improve. I hope he pushes Alcaraz for the no. 1 spot.
