how can I disable minting?
I have
Minting should be disabled by default if your wallet is encrypted and you have done nothing to unlock it. If your wallet is unencrypted and contains coins in it, then minting should be activated by default. If that is the case, all you need to do is create a good password and encrypt your wallet, which will disable minting until you unlock it. Once the full blockchain has been downloaded though, then it shouldn't matter anymore and you can click "unlock wallet for minting only" to activate minting again. this is the problem -> if I start it it crashes after a few seconds not possible to encrypt it in this time.... is it possible to download the full blockchain (torrent or FTP)? thx

Alright, the problem that some people have been experiencing has been identified. If your wallet is unencrypted then it mints block automatically. The problem some people were having is that they had an unencrypted wallet and it was trying to mint blocks before the blockchain was fully synced. Peerchemist says that they'll be working on a fix... In next point release (0.6.1) we'll fix this problem, basically we'll disable minting while wallet is syncing. That's what causing this problem.
thx how can I disable minting? I have set it to 0?

redecision, did you get past "Proof transaction pending" to a confirmation?
I've tried to Reattach 5 different times (after letting sit for a couple hours), trying 4 different Hosts, over the last 30 hours and cannot get past "Proof transaction pending".
I'm on List 1.
I'm wondering if others have received confirmation, or see a Status on iotasear.ch/hash that shows confirmation.
My Status, when searching the hash, shows "Failed - Invalid".
(using Light Wallet 2.5.3 on Windows 10 64, switched original seed to Upper Case, and appended with 9's to 81 characters)
for me it is the same Reattach xx different times, ~24 hours, Lubuntu 17.04 question: do I have to login first? (have not done) do I have to fill old seed with 9 to 81 characters? thx

'Just installed the v2.5.3 .deb package, 'went straightforward, it looks exactly like v2.5.2 to me, and there is no mention of a second (reveal) phase. I ran the Reclaim Tool again in v2.5.3 with my old seed + a new seed I just made up, and it got confirmed.
now I have done it on another PC with v2.5.3 .deb and Proof transaction is pending in iotasear.ch/hash/..... is so I think I have to reattach as long as it will be prooved? thx

after ~24 hours nothing happened and I closed the program Cheers Ewibit, I would say just try again with v2.5.3. If it takes too long to confirm, try again with another node. You must get your old seed linked to your new seed with a confirmed transaction in order to finalize the claim. thx but on Ubuntu 17.04 there seems to be an issue with v2.5.3 GUI nothing to see there (rebooted and still the same...)

Hi ewibit, 'just saw your question, sorry for the late reaction... And nope, I ran into problems when building the v2.5.2 .deb package and was feeling too much in a hurry for securing phase 1 to delay this any longer, 'did the first stage on my brother's Win10 machine 'Just installed the v2.5.3 .deb package, 'went straightforward, it looks exactly like v2.5.2 to me, and there is no mention of a second (reveal) phase. I ran the Reclaim Tool again in v2.5.3 with my old seed + a new seed I just made up, and it got confirmed. 'Pity that an old seed can be linked to several new seeds, even if only the first match should prevail. So we don't really know if our seed has been claimed by someone else previously... because of no v2.5.2 .deb I tried on another Win7 PC after ~24 hours nothing happened and I closed the program

My machines run Linux, trying to build a .deb package but not so easy, hopefully a .deb version of wallet v2.5.2 will be released today (?) Hesitating to borrow a Win machine to do the reclaiming...
have you now made a working .deb? thx
