841  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 24, 2018, 04:15:05 PM
So I found that my hub is potentially the bottleneck for asic boost not working. Plugged the newpac right into my pc and seemed fine. Both versions of 4.11.1 ran without error for a couple minutes I could spare without cooling compared to in the kdata hub I'm running which would hash up to 20gh then start dropping, throwing nonce errors. I tried the hub on usb 3.0 and 2.0, so next is another device just to be thorough.

I have a surprise from sidehack waiting for me so I'll check out the demo hub he sent to our sourcing agent that he works with. Pretty good timing there.
842  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcing GekkoScience's new USB stick miner, the aptly-named NewPac on: November 24, 2018, 02:17:37 AM
I find driving the air downward helps cool the sticks and the hub I use since most of them have metal cases. I imagine I'm stressing my shitty hub but the cooler the better eh.

We're not having a sale, but if your grouping up or buying 10 or more you'll be happy with pricing. Wink
843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Antminer D5 and DR5 on: November 23, 2018, 11:31:39 PM
Looks like we can get a jump on the D5 or DR5 if enough people are interested. DR5 looks good. Not sure what the interest will be on D5 at least in current market.

Yea, surface works fine. I'll adjust once I'm done running around at home.

UPS collects duties, their more proactive to charge prior to delivery like DHL.
847  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 23, 2018, 04:07:02 PM
Well I have six 2pac's and two newpac's on my kdata 10 port hub now. I do run winX and feel free to rib me for it. I promise I'll work up to linux at some point.

I find that running separate batch files is best for hashrate for 2pacs (at least with my setup). I had all clocked to 200 with zero issues. Was looking to OC more but the newpacs arrived. so now I run them on 4.10.0 at 175 mhz hashing about 19 or more gh. The newpacs are of course on 4.11.1 clocked at 200, diff set at 225, hashing about 45gh each. Only thing is I can't run the asic boost code at all as I get nonce error right off. Otherwise I have 8 sticks mining happily on this hub. I have one more newpac coming to me I might be able to squeeze it in if I run stock 150 on the 2pac's otherwise I'm maxed with this hub linked below. I would go back to sipolar but we'll be testing a hub by sidehack this weekend and hopefully I'll have it myself by next week.

Thanks vh. for example, with a single newpac at 40 gh, diff should be 200? If I'm hashing 200 gh, 1k diff with multiple sticks (just to spell it out for me)?
849  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 22, 2018, 06:53:13 AM
What is recommended for diff if your mixing 2pacs and newpacs? Still 32? I'm letting it auto adjust but can take a while to display shares.

2 would be a minimum of 33 amps....I wouldnt recommend it

edit: I guess if you fed it a full 240v it might only draw 15 amps each, still way over the circuits continuous rating

Yea, and they're louder than s9's so the wife would not be happy, nor neighbors.

Well then...
If you take I94 all the way to Fargo -> Go thru Fargo over the bridge into Minnesota -> then onto Hwy 10 through Dilworth -> and then drive west to Detroit Lakes... I'll drive south down Minnesota Hwy 59 and meet you at Brygge Taps & Tastes on Veteran's Memorial Parkway just east of Washington Square Mall... BT&T has craft beer on tap, and is half a block east from the City Liquor Store... just in case... and from there, it's only half a Continent to Phil's place! Now that's a Road Trip, mfb!

Good thing I love to drive. Wink

We just received a bunch of notices a month or so ago about the 2.6% for orders from last year and now fedex is billing them to our shipping account.

After the first charge of $2000 was approved by the CC we got that cc to stop accepting charges from Fedex, so nothing else would be automatically paid.

Now it's up to $13k owed.

Any advice on dealing with this?  Does fedex typically accept a small settlement amount after awhile if the bills remain unpaid?

We never signed any agreement with fedex allowing them to bill these customs charges to our shipping account, or any agreement with them allowing them to put negative marks on our credit if these customs bills went unpaid - but since they are now stuck under our shipping account incorrectly, they presumably could.

Your agreement is technically with the US government if you're importing. Essentially if your tax id is attached to the waybill you are fully responsible. 13k sounds like a lot but pending what you unit cost is, is what is due.
853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dayun Zig Z1 - Lyra2Rev2 6.8GH/s Asic miner on: November 21, 2018, 03:34:36 PM
Aren't these still pulling profits? We pulled the listing as no demo's were sent. Wanted to how well they hash after a few buyers pulled out since we've never touched one and from reading here there a number of inconsistencies. Be nice to confirm.

That's tough. I think 45 would be considered in spec. Did you read through much here yet? there's a lot of work getting these things hashing well, not so say lemons don't exist.
855  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 921 released - 20 TH/s @ 1800W on: November 21, 2018, 05:42:46 AM
Anyone hear anything on the actual 941 coming out yet?  Canaan lately has been most reasonable with price and reliability but I am still waiting to see a 30th at 2000 watt miner like they promised..

I imagine they are regrouping. They need to deliver an asic to compete with m10s, T3 at this point for industrial market. Plus their next release was anticipated to be the A911, a high efficiency unit..

What about a 30a 240 line? think I could squeeze two?
857  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 21, 2018, 05:06:12 AM
New build (90e7d31).

Some minor updates (medium-to-major if it affects you)

Windows binary: cgminer-4.11.1-windows-gekko-90e7d31.7z

- Merged in some needed changes for macOS build.
- Found and fix a cgminer crash condition when receiving noise from the asic.
- Lowered no nonce detection sensitivity.

Best practice update process: keep old working version handy.
  • move the existing "cgminer" folder to "cgminer.yyyymmdd"
  • clone repository to create a new cgminer folder as noted from first post instructions.

Oh shit, I wish I could list asics this fast.
858  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcing GekkoScience's new USB stick miner, the aptly-named NewPac on: November 21, 2018, 04:58:45 AM
I guess a rule of thumb, maybe pun intended, is if I can't hold heat sink for five seconds it needs down clocks or cooling. The six two packs I have now just have a simple case fan cooling them. Look forward to adding these in.
859  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 21, 2018, 04:24:01 AM
Is there a way to order a larger amount of the S15's ? From Bitmain's site, they are limiting 2 per order. Are there third party suppliers that will sell them in bulk?

Contact our site, we should be able to get a quote.

From what I hear they had issues with the chips and wafers so this is good advice unless you enjoy looking at a machine while parts are away for repair or replace.

I might budget to include units for possible repair. Maybe order an extra or two to swap pending your farm.
