ISIS is pretty much a zero threat to the US mainland, talk of blowing up New York is just scaremongering bullshit. No doubt something needs to be done, would have thought Obama could send in special ops to assassinate the leaders of these psychos. You are wrong. There are hundreds of American citizens among the ISIS fighters, and the NSA don't have information about all of them. Some of them could slip back in to the US, re-organize themselves and can commit serious terrorist attacks there. They may not be able to blow up New York, but these people are surely capable of doing some nasty stuff. Sure, I've heard there's also quite a few Europeans fighting for ISIS, doesn't necessarily mean they're going to comeback to their home country and declare jihad against us all. It's a lot harder for wannabee terrorists to even enter the US since 911, let alone carry out coordinated attacks. Personally I think the likelihood of another big terrorist attack against the West has been blown completely out of proportion.

Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Noel Adams. It's said. I love that book along with others from this author. Sci-fi at it's best, irrationality at it's finest ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Hitchhiker's Guide is an epic book, massive fan of Douglas Adams. Really enjoyed all the Red Dwarf novels, similar kind of wacky dry humor ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Think William Gibson also needs a shout out, Neuromancer is a absolute classic.

In theory the price shouldn't affect the adoptability of bitcoin, yeah it would be great if it reaches $1000 again any time soon but I think more focus should be put on building services and infrastructure to enable world wide adoption.

The tx fee is much higher for Paypal than bitcoin. Is it? You can send and recive payments for free on Paypal and I often do, You can easily lose your Paypal balance in a chargeback, and the dispute resolution is very bad IMO.
True, but there's also the flipside with bitcoin. If you lose your balance due to fraud or hacking those coins are gone forever and you're not going to get them back so swings and roundabouts really. Paypal is the scourge on these forums so I doubt you'll find much support here. I've 'lost' my entire Paypal balance before thanks to a payment reversal, something that would be impossible to do with bitcoin. I wont even go into all the Paypal accounts they've frozen... http://www.paypalsucks.com/

All depends on the quality of writing you want, 0.01 btc isn't a large amount so I wouldn't be expecting any professional reviews.
Maybe post a thread on the Services board to see what price range people are willing to accept.

By the time btc becomes mainstream, I'm sure there will be a lot of wealthy people on this forum ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Adoption will take time though, there's still a lot of infrastructure needed before the general public get involved.

What strategy does everyone want? Another war in Iraq? Worked out great the last few times the US intervened ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ISIS is pretty much a zero threat to the US mainland, talk of blowing up New York is just scaremongering bullshit. Spend most of my btc on digital goods like computer games with the last few satoshis going to gambling sites. Never really been in a position to save much btc so I always end up spending it as I get it ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

These safety advocates need to kick back and light up: http://www.ucdenver.edu/about/newsroom/newsreleases/Pages/Study-shows-medical-marijuana-laws-reduce-traffic-deaths.aspxA groundbreaking new study shows that laws legalizing medical marijuana have resulted in a nearly 9 percent drop in traffic deaths and a 5 percent reduction in beer sales.
“Our research suggests that the legalization of medical marijuana reduces traffic fatalities through reducing alcohol consumption by young adults,” said Daniel Rees, professor of economics at the University of Colorado Denver who co-authored the study with D. Mark Anderson, assistant professor of economics at Montana State University. Even some insurance companies are saying marijuanau users are safer drivers: http://www.tokeofthetown.com/2012/04/auto_insurance_site_says_marijuana_users_are_safer.phpDrivers high on marijuana are less likely to drive recklessly, according to a study done in the United Kingdom in 2000 by the UK Transport Research Lab. The study was actually undertaken to prove that pot impairs driving, but instead it showed the opposite -- that stoned drivers were actually safer than many other drivers on the road.

Probably safest just to hold your btc for now.
There is potential to make a decent profit by investing in alt currencies but it's very risky and unless you know what you're doing probably wise to not bother.

Why would you even let your 9 year kid use an uzi? Can understand maybe if they're in their teens but it seems crazy to me to let such a young person fire an automatic machine gun.

Started out just with Bitcoin Core but now I'm pretty much just using Blockchain.info and Electrum. Armory is also excellent security wise, looking forward to Dark Wallet when it gets released on Firefox.

I got stung hard on a reversed Paypal payment selling btc on Ebay. I knew the risks at the time so it was my own fault, still made me feel sick to my stomach when I woke up and saw my red negative Paypal balance.

It's because we all have a right to privacy, too much of our private lives are already given out to governments and corporations.
Don't think we should associate being anonymous with illegal activity

Lost waaay too many $$$ from Ebay's extortionate fees, final straw was having a large payment reversed by Paypal.
Back in the day, the fees were nowhere near as high as they are today. This is exactly why we need marketplaces like Open Bazaar.
