841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyway to block usage of stolen coins? on: June 02, 2019, 12:37:18 AM
Let`s us say that a exchange got hacked, Would there be anyway to ban those bitcoins? like blacklist the stolen coins so they cannot be used on the network?

Are we for censorship resistance, or not? Blacklisting is antithetical to what Bitcoin is. The entire proof-of-work mining incentive exists so that miners publish transactions regardless of any other consideration than rational profit motive. If users/miners can start meddling and deciding that some transactions are illegitimate, then clearly Bitcoin can't be trusted any more than the trusted intermediaries (like banks) it was intended to replace.

Exchanges and other centralized services are free to coordinate and blacklist coins among themselves, but implementing a blacklist at the protocol level would be impossible to do. Users wouldn't have it. Blacklisting nodes would eventually split from the Bitcoin network when the outputs are spent.

Well we would only blacklist hacked coins I guess, so hackers do not profit and miners do, for doing the right thing. I don`t know, it would be up to the network, I would vote fuck you to mt.gox coins lol, but it is to late now, if we had this feature it could of been good.

As for the later there could be fixes put in. I thought of something pretty good.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/feds-claim-proceeds-from-seized-silk-road-fortune-at-only-334-per-bitcoin

Like why do the feds get to sell the coins? It makes no sense and now Mark Karpeles has 600k + coins.

Let`s us say that a exchange got hacked, Would there be anyway to ban those bitcoins? like blacklist the stolen coins so they cannot be used on the network? I know about going back in time with consensus of the network to a earlier block or forking and using that new chain, but could you just not ban the stolen coins?  I mean make a way to do that?

If the new address was known, exchanges could blacklist the addresses. But eventually, the culprit could find a way to offload the coins.

I am talking about the bitcoin network blacklist the coins, not the exchange.
844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyway to block usage of stolen coins? on: June 01, 2019, 09:47:17 PM
If you ask me all Mt.Gox coins should be perma banned. All 600,000+k of them
all 7000 Binance coins should be blacklisted

846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff vs. Barry Silbert: Gold and Bitcoin on: June 01, 2019, 09:29:57 PM
Let`s say fiat died off, what would be a better measure for goods? gold or bitcoin?

TIME.

agreed an hours minimum wage labour should be a measure.
for instance
america has $10 measuring as 1hour 20minutes in one state. but only 40 minutes in another state (minimum wage $7.50-$15)

however if we had a token measured as 1 hours labour. yea the fiat value may be volatile state to state. but each person no matter where they live can work the same physical time for the same token. this would then normalise the volatility of fiat where every state then is forced and agree's that an hours labour is the same

bitcoins price($8500)
many dont realise that bitcoin in a U.S state of $15min wage. means someone has to work 566 hours to get 1btc
many dont realise that bitcoin in third world of $0.05min wage. means someone has to work 170,000 hours to get 1btc

things need to change so no matter where you are you know minimum labour is equally valued

I see you coming around brother Frank <3

Put me in the debate, I would destroy both sides with Time, although that lady at the very start might distract me a little from my points.  Cheesy

I do have to give Peter credit, Gold will be needed in the future, Gold demand will only go up, same with land, they are the two best investments you can buy into. The problem with making Gold the money supply though is that we need it for space programs in the future. The other problem with gold is that they seized it before here in North America, More people hold bitcoin than gold these days.

but both of these things run into this problem

849  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Getting private keys from public keys on: June 01, 2019, 07:04:50 AM
Is it possible to find at least one private key from any public key from the list from the large list of compressed public keys secp256k1?

Public keys: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1HByDJR9Ck5CdIwTl-v_IzcaVhsG8aKaA

As I know, this list contains 15 million compressed public keys.

Is it possible to use any method for such a large list of compressed public keys in order to finally find at least one private key?
The Only Way To Get A Private Key From public Key Is To Brute-Force It.

And Here Is How Long it Will Take :

There's 2256 Public Key, A High-End VGA (RTX 2080 Ti) Can Produce Up To 237 Public Key/Second.
Let's Assume Your Rig Has 8 RTX 2080Ti, Which Means That Your Rig Can Produce Up To 240 Public Key.
Your list Have around 224 Public Key.

(2256/224)/240=2232/240=2192 Seconds = 1.989136 × 1050 years

It Would Take 1.989136 × 1050 years To Find A Private Key that Matched Your List With Current Technology

Can we run some better numbers. A RTX 2080 Ti is 2.94 GHz

Let`s say I have the persons wallet.dat and I can take over slush pool or a big ass mining op.

F2Pool is based in China. It has mined about 10% of all blocks over the past six months. Let`s use this for the example.
Bitcoin is almost at 60,000,000 THz so 10% of that is?  6,000,000 THz  https://www.blockchain.com/en/charts/hash-rate

So let`s say I have a brute force, that is connected to a trillion of multi boxes or just multi processes like windows and those brute forces are connected so they are not using the same key ever? How long would it take to crack the Genesis block key or any key (if it does not change)?

Worthy to note: The number of TH/`S will increase but the key gen will not, unless you constantly speed it up in a password mixer or something.
https://www.blockchain.com/en/charts/hash-rate?timespan=all

The key is to become the key, we can literally stop all murders or solve them pretty quick lol

Sons of Earth

I Kills men by the hundreds, and If I were here I'd consume the Banks with fireballs from my eyes and bolts of lightning from my arse. I AM I, And I see a whole army of my countrymen here in defiance of tyranny. You have come to fight as free men, and free men you are. What would you do with that freedom? Will you fight?

Coward Soldier: Fight? Against that? No, we will run; and we will live.

I: Aye, fight and you may die. Run and you'll live -- at least a while. And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom!!!

855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is better than gold and USD? on: June 01, 2019, 02:59:05 AM
how much you guys want the tax to be? like 20%? 10%?.... 1%

It is 30% here in Canada.

15% on income if you make a lot 20-33%
15% when you buy anything from the store with that income

min 30% tax in Ontario.

GOLD
- Have value and will always have
- Can be used to make jewelries, etc.
- Price more likely stable
- May used as a mode of payment
- Limited supply but still can't predict how many golds left

USD
- Worlds most recognized currency
- Can be used as a payment
- Can create more and more paper money
- Can be considered as a stable money

Bitcoin
- Online money
- Limited resources
- Anonymous transaction
- Volatile price

As you can see they have their own uses, advantages and disadvantages. They have their own uses as well and their own values, there's no need to compare them all.

Gold
-Need for electronics not money supply
-They stole it all before and banned it remember?
-In the future kind of fucks us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7TLFyK_3Pk

USD
-$cam backed by nothing, we trade our time, work, goods and services for this $hit $cam
-Unlimited $hit $cam $lavery $ystem that trades for our limited time
-Fucks us now

Bitcoin
-Legit
-Can forget your password and the government can`t come into your house and take it.
-In the future kind of fucks us but not if traded for time

Time/Duration trading hours for hours

-The best
-Can be traded into bitcoin (see some of my other post)
-Kids born after 2045 have a chance to mine

Americans say money they had at Monex is gone and the bank isn’t helping them.

This is why we use Bitcoin and this is why we keep it off exchanges.
