how long it is to create 128GB plot ?

I've done 195 GB in about 8 hours

@Dev

Can I mine at the same time on two plots with number_of_plots_to_stagger_together different from each other?

I mean, can I do for example:

1st run : ...1 2001 1000 1 -> 2nd run :...2002 2001 8191 1

 Huh

And have I to restart miner when generating the second plot?!

Has anyone gotten more than one block?  If so, how many?

I've found 5 Blocks Account ID 10818239041755946932

Quote
simply increase plot numbers, so if you started with
"run_generate ACC_ID 1 2001 1000 1",

then do " run_generate ACC_ID 2002 4002 1000 1"

the generator will make a new plot file in the plot folder, the miner will just read both files.

Ok, but can I use another value instead of the firs?! Now I'm using 500 because I'm using Java 32bit, after it has finished I will use Java64 so can I set 8191? Are there problems if the two plots file are different?!

How many GB do you have?

At the moment 153 GB (164.495.360.000 byte)

Quote
from a look at the miningplot function in "pocminer_v1/src/pocminer/util/miningplot.java" it automatically pushes the sizes into 64bit anyway, so I dont think the 32 -> 64 switch will make a difference.

the 8191 is the stagnation of the plots, so yes on 64bit you have alot more memory address space to play with, but you also need to make sure you have the ram and hdd space to set it that high.

I've i7 4770k and 16Gb Ram, now I'm using 32%.. And I've got still 1.5TB of free space.. When I've started this early morning, the value 1000 doesn't worked for me.. But the only Java version installed was the 32bit one! Now I don't want to stop the process, but when it's done I'll make some tests!

When this coin will hit an exchange, it will skyrockets!
Launch was perfect, no premine, no ipo and Dev helps everyone who needs!
And it's totally new concept! Thanks Dev, please continue to innovate and support this coin!

Good mining to everyone!

Are some of you guys using 32-bit JVMs? That would explain why some of us have no problem with the higher ram amounts, and some have to drive it through the floor.

I have over 1TB of free space in the drive and I still get this:

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError indicates you need higher -Xmx value, or lower stagger value(the one you're using 1000 in)

I've installed 64 bit version, reboot, but problem remains.. I cannot do nothing bigger than 500

Suggestions:
1. check if java 64-bit is used by command line ... use:
java -version
2. maybe cause 819100 is not a multiple of 1000 ?! (<number of plots you want to generate> 8191 <number of threads>
The number of plots should be a multiple of 8191.)

java version "1.7.0_67"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_67-b01)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 24.65-b04, mixed mode, sharing)

Is it right?!

I've got 16 gb ram, i7 4770k and I want to use 200gb. What's the right command please!?
run_generate.bat addressgoeshere 0 819100 8191 7

Got it.  Had to lower to 1000 for my machine with 8 gigs and 500 with 4 gigs.  Generating away.  Thanks for the support dev!
Surprised you had to lower it at all for the 8GB comp. -Xmx4000m with 8191 should work fine for that.

The 4GB one did need to be lowered though, since 8191 requires somewhere between 3.5-4GB of ram for the JVM

I've done it but it says

Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

same with run_generate.bat mypassw 1 819100 1000 4

On two machines..

Getting "could not reserve enough space for object heap" when trying to generate plots
Use a smaller value instead of 8191 then, and make the number of plots a multiple of that. 8191 is ideal if you have a lot of ram, but unusable if you don't. Try 4000 or something instead. Higher numbers cause less HDD seeking while mining, but take more ram to generate.

you really need to give real example opf this:

Now you can run run_generate.bat like this "run_generate.bat <number retrieved in last step> <plot number you want to start with> <number of plots you want to generate> 8191 <number of threads>
The number of plots should be a multiple of 8191.

Where 12345678 is the number dumped to address.txt,
run_generate.bat 12345678 1 819100 8191 4
That would start to generate plots for nonces 1 - 819100 for address 12345678 using 4 cores for calculations. The resulting file will be about 200GB

For people who have less ram and can't do the above:
run_generate.bat 12345678 1 800000 4000 4
Uses half the rame to generate, and will cover about the same range, but more hdd seeking will be done while mining.

Sad

Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

Same for me.. And I've 1.8 Tb free..

When I run the bat file by doble clicking it, the prompt closes immediatly, saying java it's not recognised file or command.. I've java installed on my pc! I'm on W8.1

edit all the .bat file and replace java for C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java

Thanks, i'm noob!

Now:

I cannot mine with GPU! CPU is working but GPU isn't!

I get this:

Anyone with same issue?

For me working good. I have bat file for R9-270x:
sgminer.exe --kernel bitblock -s 1 -E 10 -Q 0 -o 127.0.0.1:18786 -u user -p pass --gpu-platform 0 -d 0 --intensity 18 --gpu-threads 2 --lookup-gap 2 -w 128 --gpu-engine 1120 --gpu-memclock 1450 --gpu-powertune 20

Your it's working.. But now it's too late! I'm out!
