I don't think there's any football faithful anywhere in the world that'll doubt the great abilities of IIkay Gundogan. The German is simply a midfield genius and would surely flourish at Barcelona because of the fact that his current club plays almost the same style of football like his former.
That being said, I think where I have some doubt in your view is where you said he'll help Barcelona retain the Spanish La Liga title. Real Madrid with there recent signings is unarguably the strongest La Liga club at the moment and the fact that they didn't win either of the league or an European trophy last season should be a major concern for Barcelona because Madrid would surely want to make up for their last season shortcomings

Gundogan has a lot of experience under his belt and aside the fact that he along with his former teammates at Manchester City won the English Premier League as well as the Champions league, he’s a player that any club would want to have in their squad.
I believe he could be really instrumental in helping Barcelona retain the La Liga title. Obviously, they’re going to face a lot of competition from other clubs. Real Madrid, who is their biggest threat in my opinion and a strong contender for the title, with their recent signings should really be a concern to Barcelona if they want to retain the title.

Manchester United should not undervalue Onana who is a goalkeeper that they really need since they no longer have a first choice goalkeeper. The price that Inter Milan have demanded is fair enough and Manchester United can afford to pay unless they have an alternative. Onana has experience and was very good in the Champions league as a shot stopper also as goalkeeper that can pass the ball from behind. Manchester United will increase their interest if other clubs show interest and try to start negotiation with Inter Milan for Onana.

I think it’s obvious Manchester United wants to bring over Onana to the squad and understandably so, Onana has some impressive stats. I don’t think they’re trying to undervalue him. Just cause there is a price, doesn’t mean you can’t try to negotiate for less. No doubt, Onana has great potential as well as experience under his belt and I personally think he would make a great addition.
Hopefully, both parties would come to an agreement soon and finalize the deal. Manchester United needs a goalie like Onana who would take over from De Gea.
843  Economy / Economics / Re: It's Simple to understood now cash is king again on: July 14, 2023, 02:11:03 PM
The OP mentioned the purache power of cash is great again so I’m assuming he meant purchasing power of the cash is great again. With inflation ravaging most parts of the earth, the purchasing power of the cash is anything but great. I’m pretty sure the monthly budgets of people here has increased over the months for the same goods purchased. I know mine has..
If the purchasing power was that great, I would have been able to spend much less for more goods or/services.

I always thought the phrase “cash is king” refers to the fact that people would be willing to accept cash payments for goods provided or services rendered more than any other means and with cash, no one except you and the seller would know about the transaction.
Now, more I believe more people are more willing to accept other means of payment other than cash and people are not willing to hold and travel with a lot of cash on their person for obvious reasons of being robbed.
Cash is nowhere king status. Perhaps a duke would be more befitting.
844  Economy / Economics / Re: Food Crisis - Improved, Worsen or still the same in your country (No Change)? on: July 14, 2023, 09:07:59 AM
Two things that are the core of any nation would be energy and food. Because those are things we are going to use one way or another, I would say water too but water could be considered in the food one if you want to. If you can be self-sufficient in these two things then you are going to be a rich nation.

Any country that wants to be self sufficient must first be able to provide for the energy needs of its citizens as well as enough locally grown and produced foods in order to feed adequately its populace. I don’t think you would be necessarily considered a rich nation if you’re self sufficient in just these areas cause they’re other factors to consider as well.
A nation that is self reliant and doesn’t rely on the resources of other countries to survive is on the path to prosperity. Although we all need each other in some capacity, a country would fare much better if they could internally source and provide sufficiently, the energy and food needs of its citizens.
845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: July 14, 2023, 06:20:34 AM
No one knows how long they'll last, but at the rate they're going, if they can stay up, I'm confident they'll last a very long time with this. You might think they weren't in the football business before now, but I believe they know what they're after and are searching for any and all means to get there, which could be why they're so interested in European players and enticing some of them with big money. If they keep this up and sign more good European players, the league may be able to compete with the Premier League and other European domestic leagues.

While I think the Saudi league could continue going on strong for a long time, I don’t see the Saudi league competing with the premier league or other European leagues any time soon. Yes, they probably would keep at it, signing players from Europe whenever they can but I don’t see them competing with any of those top leagues.
I’m also confident that their interest in football would not fade after a while. The Saudis are actively trying to get involved with sports. Having entered into a partnership with PGA tour with their own LIV golf, it’s no surprise that they are serious about their football as well. And the seriousness is shown by how much is spent in bringing in players from all over.

Secondly, it was again worst move about the blue tick. In the initial version user had to prove their identity and now anyone can buy it with money. He turned it into money making machine not for the share holders but for himself.

I agree. The implementation of the paid verification to enable just anyone get verified and have the blue tick on your profile didn’t go down well with a lot of people. During the early stages where the paid verification was implemented, some nefarious characters tried to/ fooled a lot of people by impersonating verified accounts and some got away with it too.
Perhaps in his bid to recoup money, he got the idea of having people subscribe and pay to get verified on a free app cause funds gotten from other sources probably slowed down.
847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 13, 2023, 07:39:00 PM
Manchester City has the capacity and ability to defend the title in the 2023-2024 season. You don't need to doubt their quality and opportunities even though it is still possible for other teams to thwart them. Manchester City are still the favorites for the title next season, but I also think their dominance will very likely be broken if the other team actually takes every match to win.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pep Guardiola actually managed to win 4 Premier League titles in 4 consecutive seasons, that is absolutely incredible quality and dominance for the most competitive league in the world.

Manchester City does have the ability to defend the title and I certainly do not doubt their many many good qualities. But you would also admit that there’s still a chance, no matter how slim for other clubs to stop them from their quest in retaining the title. Manchester City are likely still the favorites to win the title next season.

If Pep manages to win the title for the fourth time in a row, i guess it wouldn’t surprise a lot of people. I would like to see them try and win it. Although, I’m very much aware of their potentials and prowess on the field, it would be interesting to see how they would go about defending the title.

When you’ve got the urge to learn and improve upon on yourself, then there’s nothing holding you back. Bitcoin has indeed made you more enlightened about lots of other things with more things to learn as learning is a continuous process. It’s really good you didn’t let your non technical background stop you from wanting to learn more about bitcoin. On here, you could learn anything and everything you would need to know about bitcoin.

The concept of 21 million bitcoins(no more, no less) is what makes bitcoin unique. With the present monetary system in place, there is literally no end to the printing of new currency notes making the purchasing power decrease steadily as freshly printed notes are added to the zillions already in circulation.

No one knows it all and we learn new things everyday if only we’re open to actually wanting to learn.

Considering all the transfers we saw in the English teams and premier league, more than anything I'm waiting to see how Manchester City is going to start the next season because I think still Pep Guardiola and his players still got the best chance for the next season to win the premier league title.
However, Chelsea had some changes after they started working with their new coach but still, we can't make sure how they are going to perform in their new shape.

I too am eager to see what Manchester City has in store for us and how they’re going to go about defending the title. I don’t know about them having the best chance of winning the trophy but I do know they’ve got a very good chance. Considering all the preparation and transfers, I’m willing to bet it would be an exciting season and Manchester City would have to step up their game if they want to win and retain the title. They would face some serious competition, that’s for sure. Although Pep seems more than capable to handle what is gearing up to be a really competitive season, he should be mindful of other clubs.
Right now, we can only hope that Chelsea sees the light under the management of this new coach after having been through a very dark and long tunnel.
850  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest in Marketing on: July 13, 2023, 06:16:36 PM
For your business,  brand, or product to grow you have to make a conscious effort to make it more.  Your service or product has to be superb,  but I believe your marketing needs to be better.
A product is only as good as advertised.

You’ve certainly got to put in a whole lot of effort in order to stay afloat and ahead in this competitive business environment. For your brand to stand out from the other brands that produce more or less the same products or render the same type of service, you’ve got to put in work.
I agree that although, your product or service rendered must be top notch, your advertising should be even better.

The world they say is now a global village and with the right marketing strategy, your new customers are just a click away.
I don’t see a small scale business that sells petty items reaching out for any form of advertising as the business is barely surviving but for medium and large scale businesses, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to invest more in their marketing department.
851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling on: July 13, 2023, 03:42:12 PM
    • Demonstrates Self-Control
You can go days without gambling because you have the will power and might to. You do not feel powerless and unable to control your desire to gamble.

These signs suggest a healthy relationship with gambling and indicate that you are not addicted. What other signs do you know of?

I think this amongst all the points you noted is what differentiates addicts from non addicts. An addiction takes away your power of self control and dependency on the bad habit sets in.
An individual having enough self control over his actions and desires would probably never get addicted. When you’re gambling for fun, hoping for win as well as knowing at the back of your mind that you could incur losses as well, then your feelings when losing won’t be that hurt and you won’t go about trying to recoup those losses.
Very few things controls the will and actions of an individual like an addiction does.
    852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: July 13, 2023, 03:05:07 PM
Hmm i don't want to sound to rude but the Saudi Professional League will always be a circus show without any sportive value. It is the same now as the Major League Soccer in the United States. Very big and popular players with a huge reputation that are already way past their prime will go there at the end of their career to make some huge bank for the last time.

I don’t think the Saudi league would always be a circus show. Admittedly, it’s not as competitive as the premier league and perhaps it may never be but that doesn’t mean it’s not competitive with no sports values. Yeah, big and popular players from other leagues probably move over there during the final moments of their careers or to earn some more money. The arrival of those big players would increase the fan base of those clubs and bring in more people willing to watch and talk about those games. We’re talking about them right now lol.
It will probably never be as competitive or as watched as the premier league and other top leagues, but they’re slowly building their fan base as well as their audience.

We already know that there is some bad blood between Meta and Twitter. Or Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Given this, I would like for us to discuss this, if Elon Musk decides to launch a clone of Twitter app, do you think it would achieve the same level of success in terms of user base and Stocks considering Elon's controversial history with Twitter?

If the plan is to create an app(a replica of twitter)that would rival Threads(an app created to rival twitter), then I must say that plan isn’t a very smart one. Why go through the hassle of creating a replica when you’ve got the original thing.
Aside from whatever controversy that may be surrounding his handling of twitter, if he does create a replica of twitter, I highly doubt that app would be a success compared to twitter based on registered users. Threads was born with the aim of attracting users from Twitter so the solution is to fix whatever is broken in Twitter so people would want to remain and more people would be interested in signing up instead of creating a whole new app.
854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 12, 2023, 10:59:39 PM
    That's right.
We must realise that pre-season games are sometimes just a warm-up for some big clubs because there are other things to consider such as giving opportunities to some players who rarely get this time to take precedence over looking at the schemes.
This is one way for the coach to measure how ready the players are after a long holiday.
Don't take friendlies and pre-season tours too seriously because sometimes they can be tricky and an example might be Chelsea and Liverpool in the season that has ended this time.

Pre season matches are exactly like you noted. A warm up for clubs and also to test player capabilities and fitness. Big clubs could also use pre season games to field players who barely see some action during the season and new tactics could be formulated and developed at this stage.
Friendly games are a great way to test player fitness and readiness but I also think it shouldn’t be used to predict or determine whether a club would be successful during that season. One could play very well during the pre season games and end up playing poorly during the entire season.
855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 12, 2023, 09:33:32 PM
I had already commented on something similar but I will repeat myself again, teams know perfectly well that just because a team and a player won or were better in a certain season does not mean that the following season they will be better again, by that I mean that the Oshimen is probably not being sought after by many teams due to the fact that many teams are still afraid if what he sees was a performance thanks to luck or he will repeat the same or almost the same performance this season, so the teams are watching the Oshimen this season

and if Oshimen has a good performance like last season or at least a performance very close to what he had last season then I have no doubt that many teams will want him, but the problem with that is that it is a problem for napooli is that, this season napoli will have another coach and things will change, so napoli will hardly be successful and consequently oshimen will not be successful either, i believe that napoli's management got too greedy for having won serie a that they forgot that it won't be constant and forever and they will regret having priced too high for Oshimen

While some of what you say may be true, I still believe a key factor on why a lot of clubs aren’t after him is they simply can’t afford to cough out that amount. They may as well be watching and checking out his performance. I also know that a player could have a good spell in a current season and a very bad one the next.
You can’t deny that Oshimen is a talented player and under a coach that knows his onions, he would only get better and better. I believe he would be consistent in his performance next season.

You mentioned Napoli having a new coach would bring about change that would make the club unsuccessful and consequently, Oshimen won’t be successful either. Have you thought about the possibility of the new coach bringing about positive change that would make the club go on to win more league trophies thereby making Oshimen more successful and wanted that he already is?
856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 12, 2023, 02:33:03 PM
The only thing I see here is the fact that Napoli is simply propping up the price for Oshimen because they don't want to lose their talisman. They know that if they set the price high enough, even the biggest clubs in the world won't not make any attempt to sign him. Oshimen is a quality striker and Napoli knows this. Losing him now would be a set back for the team. We're talking about a team that started to see some success recently, so it's only right that they keep up with that streak. I don't see Oshimen signing for any club in this transfer market.

Any clubs interested should just wait till his contract expires then, they can get him for a fair price.

I too see it like that. Napoli isn’t ready to let go of Oshimen just yet and therefore have put up a really high amount on him knowing very few clubs if any would bid. The lad has performed superbly for his club and helped his club bag their league(serie A) trophy. They obviously don’t want to let go of their goal scorer.
But I think they’re still open for discussions if any club takes them up on their proposal. But the likelihood of that is pretty slim. I too don’t see Oshimen signing up for any club as he would most likely still be wearing a Napoli jersey next season.
857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 12, 2023, 01:41:15 PM
Chelsea have enough financial clout to sign Osimhen, but they shouldn't be in too much of a rush to sign him for a huge fee. If you think only PSG can sign Osimhen, then I disagree. Manchester City, Newcastle, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United can afford Osimhen for such a high price, but they probably won't because Napoli charge a price that doesn't match the quality of the player.

Osimhen is good as a striker in the Premier League's top teams, but I don't expect any of them to pay such a high price for Osimhen. Kane is far superior and more experienced in the Premier League, but his price is not as high as Osimhen.

I had thought Napoli’s president was perhaps making the statement to like, nudge PSG into making a bid for the player and giving them somewhat of a tiny reassurance that the bid would might be accepted. They’ve got the funds to bid for the player and he could be a good substitute for Mbappe.

He’s wrong when he says English clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea cannot afford to buy Osimhen. They probably don’t see his qualities and worth of the amount Napoli wants. Napoli wants to keep Osimhen in their squad but is still open for offers that that’s too good to refuse hence the statement declaring PSG the only club that can afford the player.
858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: July 12, 2023, 12:50:01 PM
I saw this online and thought maybe i should bring on to bitcointalk for discussion.

If a person gamble and at the end of the game he starts to feel remorse is that a good thing or should the person be on alert?

Obviously, I would feel a little bad after losing a considerable sum but never have I felt remorse after playing. I personally don’t see gambling as anything bad or anything to be ashamed about if you play responsibly so I wouldn’t feel remorseful about it.

Regarding your question, if someone plays and feels remorseful at the end of the game, then it’s best you quit playing as you most likely haven’t got the heart to play and perhaps still in conflict worth yourself about gambling in general.
859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: July 12, 2023, 12:10:48 PM

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?

I don’t think success and addiction goes together. There are very few, if any gambling addicts out there that can be said to be successful as well. In my opinion, an individual addicted to gambling can’t be a successful one as he probably won’t be rational in his thoughts and definitely won’t be rational when trying to wager.
Asides all that, the society most times, turns a blind eye to the bad habits and vices of a successful individual and while whispers of his vices would be all over, it would be all smiles whenever he’s present.
860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 12, 2023, 11:38:26 AM
Elon Musk is one of the biggest trolls on social media. He is also an attention whore. I have no idea if this fight is really happening. Earlier today Musk proposed a "literal dick measuring contest". This all just seems like a big joke to him and he is loving the attention he's getting.

Based on eye test alone it is obvious to see that Zuckerberg is in much better shape and would probably defeat Musk with relative ease. Musk's ego won't allow him to be humiliated by his rival so he'll likely just stick to feuding through social media.

Elon does love the spot light and the attention it brings. If not, he won’t be doling out tweets on a regular basis stating most times, nothing important. I would agree with you on him being an attention whore. And I also think this is a big joke for both billionaires(Elon probably is getting more fun out of this). I bet it would be hilarious seeing people online bend over in rooting for their favorite to win.

I think it’s crazy that people would look at Elon and say he’s in better shape than Mark. The guy is big alright but Mark is more fit and in better shape. This proposed fight was never to be from the start. Both men wouldn’t get anything out of fighting literally in a cage match.
