Did we decide on a logo?!

I believe we might run a contest in a different thread. Got a little sidetracked today.. probably soon. I personally like our logo but we can see about getting a new one.
I like the current logo as well. Simple and clean.

i think i have to agree. simple tends to work best as its understood quicker.

So many people (including bitcointalk hero members and btc whales) saying they are buyers at this price but not bid support on the exchanges. I find this curious.

I bought some speculative coins at these prices. I've bought a bunch of stuff that has fallen for no real tangible reason, just crypto apathy right now.

A bump in the prices are coming. In addition, anonymity is going to become more of an issue once people figure out why it is needed.

I think the mistake that anonymity projects make is that the look to compete with each other, not act with an almost single voice to the market as to what they are all attempting to achieve when compared to say Litecoin.

All the leading projects with some credibility should pool together to distribute articles on anonymity problems with litecoin, bitcoin, etc. Do it through one person who writes everything in generic terms not xmr is better than xyz.  When anonymity is on the radar as an issue, all related prices will go up, then you can start to distinguish differences.

I watched Maxcoin change their coin supply.

The price went up, holders dumped. The price went into a reverse.

If you reduce coin supply, it must be for a technological reason.

darkota just seems to be looking for a quick price fix to dump out.

On a scale of 1-10 , where 1 is fudmental, and 10 is a hypervirulent flesh rotting ebola outbreak

How do you thnk the NY regulations coming "in about two weeks" is going to go down ?

60-90 days after the proposal comes out is when the train comes

1-2 days. That's all you need to read and digest the impact of the regs.

Any regs will allow mainstream adoption, provided there are no negative tax rules introduced. So the train might start a week before they are due.

I think month is enough to come up with some solution. It doesn't need to be perfect but it need to be done now. We can always make another fork in 1-2 months to tweak some parameters. I think it's better than dropping to 0.0001.

And one important thing. People doesn't care about mining algorithm, premine or instamine. Only thing that matter is price. Price increase will result in steady increase of miners and investors.

The do if they can't mine cheaply. some of the energy efficient algo's make a big difference in electricity costs. But if the coin is doing well, then you are right it doesn't matter - unless it is scrypt. That is hard work, costs a lot and needs plenty of ventilation, air con and work.

If something could be announced sooner rather than later, that would be helpful to the value of the coins I just bought.

Big LTC dump as the Brazilian game starts.

Weekend pump it is.

Back to BTC.

[perception that we don't emphasise marketing]

Yes we have a marketing strategy. Of course we do. I mean, just this week we launched a website, rebranded Twitter, launched a Facebook page, recruited a digital and social marketing guy from Microsoft and Adidas... I mean, do you expect more?

Don't worry about it. Trust me when I say that the public will hear about XC.

I am aware of those, I was referring to advertising in the sense of paying money and getting exposure for XC

PR releases, or ads? Maybe some banner ads?

Is there a bounty, I might add something to it, depending on the options being looked at?

Mig and Jig,

The vertcoin community and the development team are aware that vertcoin inflation may be an issue and is taken seriously at this time. Please don't feel that the community is not listening and your inputs are taken into consideration. This is why the development team have brought this concern to the public and are doing their best to find a resolution. In addition, to constantly abuse the community for over a month does not speed up the process, nor does it make your argument any better.

MaxCoin played with their coin supply, from memory. It didn't do them any good the way they went about it.

I think you need to consider the mining algo first. Vert is supposed to be ASIC free, but GPU friendly?

Well, rather than just having a halving, why not make coin supply reduce steadily, and introduce algo change hard forks every 2-3 years. That would impact ASIC ROI if they were ever introduced. Then look at some energy efficient algo or group of them.

I've been reading up on darkcoin and how they are going to change the way they handle forks. They are introducing a way to reduce the impact of forks if they don't go very well. Go and ask them for some intel.

Looks like he lost a lot on communitycoin and is taking it out on darkcoin where he had something tangible and sold that off.

We all make mistakes. But the way he is handling himself trying to bring everything down around him, he just looks like a sore loser.
851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | Fork for Masternode Payment on: July 12, 2014, 07:08:51 PM

Well, piss off then.
852  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 12, 2014, 07:04:58 PM
Slight trend reversal for LTC, as prices are finally starting to recover a bit there too.   Nice to see BTC and LTC not exactly pegged...

If we can get a solid enough recovery, I may be looking to flip some LTC back into BTC

why is LTC going up, just a weekend pump?

Mining difficulty skyrocketing due to ASICs. Manufacturers supports the price to be able to sell their scrypt asic rig.

You could be right, but the hash rate has fallen recently.

This looks like a weekend pump, BTC-e pulling the chains of their traders and generating some business or some insider information on something.

By using one of these mining pools you are taking a stand against the unfair 20% tax on miners.

I read that as...

I don't know how to create anything. So I will jump on the sand castles at the beach.

Why should anyone listen to a fucking loser like you? Piss off child.
854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address - Privacy without mixer on: July 12, 2014, 06:56:51 PM
So what is next for Vert?

I wouldn't mind holding on until it doubles from here, and then seeing what's what.

You were here very early. You were a supporter.

You sold off your coins too cheap.

Now you are a little boy who has lost his toys.

You lost. Now fuck off dick head.
856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | Fork for Masternode Payment on: July 12, 2014, 06:43:14 PM
What does the community think about starting a self moderated thread? I think trolling has gone overboard. I mean there will be one troll post, but the frustrating thing is the 10 replies that follow it. Maybe eltito and community can think along those lines.

Also people seem to respect

1)Self moderated topics.
2)PoW mining phases that end in 7 days and or abruptly whenever multipools threaten them.

No one complains about 1) and 2). They come to Darkcoin thread to vent their frustration and push forum members to their limits. Sad, but that is how it seems to work in altcoin section.

Yes please create a new SELF MODERATED thread for Darkcoin.  Please Please Please

Self Moderated threads are used by scammers to hide the truth.  But maybe you need to hide the truth.

..this coin = toast ...can't believe you guys are still talking this coin up..it got pillaged..its game over..too many coins stolen...over-supply in the 100s of thousands...it will never reach even 1$ a coin again...sheesh...you guys act like you're in a cult the way you 'protect' this floundering coin....let it rot...its over..move on with your lives...LOL....

Go away
857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address - Privacy without mixer on: July 12, 2014, 06:13:30 PM
I got in fairly recently and at low prices compared to a few months ago.

I was expecting LTC to suffer, miners would jump ship and head over to Vert. But it looks like LTC miners now are just switching off to save electricity.

858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | Fork for Masternode Payment on: July 12, 2014, 06:08:58 PM
Just that they're getting an undue amount of hype and return right now at the expense of miners
Miners know that the 20% going to MNs does not impact them. It's only trolls and people who generally just don't know how crypto works that argue otherwise.

A reduction of supply == higher price, so they still get the same money when they cash out to pay their electric bill.

MNs are a building block for so much more than what they're being used for right now. They deserve attention. Mining is not exactly a new, innovative concept. There's really nothing to talk about on that front...

It's the same supply.  Just that 20% is now being cashed out by MN holders instead of miners.  Same supply == same price.  Miners now earn less.

I am an "all in" holder with DRK and not a troll.  Yes, I agree MNs are cool, innovative, and deserve attention.  I'm willing to go along for now, trust in the devs and see where it heads.  My opinion is still the same though and I'm not liking what I'm seeing.

What would you do with your Darkcoins if master nodes did not exist or existed and were so easy to set-up that you couldn't trust them to mix your anonymous coins?

Think about is... Why is enforce off on RC3? Baiting... Most everyone is on .5 or .6 now, right? It has Pimp Hand in it, right? So, when RC4 comes out, Pimp Hand is enabled on .5 and .6 so even those who refuse to upgrade will be on correct fork... The only people on wrong fork will be those who deliberately downgrade to a much older client... These people will then be identified as obvious, deliberate saboteurs.
You're presuming nobody will run a 3rd party built client for some reason?  Pretty faulty reasoning if you think the only clients that exist are the one's published by the dev team.

I do know that scanning this thread you get the impression that DRK exists for MN holders.  Anyone who says otherwise is insulted and added to an ignore list.
100% agreement.

I think it is good to challenge. That's how projects evolve and become stronger.

But there is often a fine line between challenge and terrorism. And quite frankly some of you dakrcoin haters are acting like real fucking dicks.
