841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for fun vs gambling for the financial benefit. on: January 26, 2024, 04:22:43 PM
While this is theoretically alright, in the reality so many persons actually gamble because they want to get some financial top up from the gamble.
Everyone wants to earn money, raise their personal incomes, working a little and enjoying life at its maximum with comfort and leisure. However, it's not enough just to want something. You have to make sure the possibilities are real and feasible.

What is mostly common in my neighborhood and that I mostly do is soccer betting and if I am not exaggerating, 90% of the people that do soccer betting do do because they want to win money.
They want to earn money, but they are looking for it at the wrong place... Gambling is for those who already have money to spend and risk, not for the ones seeking to earn it "from zero".

They can watch the match for fun but as long as it involved them paying money before gambling, most persons don't normally see it as fun and this is the reason why after placing a particular bet, if the game isn't successful they continue betting hoping to get a win along the way thervy being seen as addict.
Gambling stopped being funny for these people because they are betting with money they can't afford to lose, so they get highly worried about the outcomes of their bets, since potential losses will compromise their monthly expenses and obligations, probably preventing them from fulfilling everything they have to accomplish.

People who see gambling as a job are unlikely to have fun betting, because they do this as a duty, not as a hobby. That is the main difference between poor and rich gamblers. And in most cases, rich gamblers didn't get rich through gambling, but they do gamble because they are rich... The fortune they have made were achieved through another means which don't involve gambling. It should be a valuable thought for people who gamble because they are in need of money to think over.
842  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: January 26, 2024, 03:21:17 AM
Are we going to get rid of market manipulation someday? This is so frustrating... Bitcoin could be doing much better right now if it wasn't for this Grayscale bullshit. This company holds too many coins, and even worse is the possibility they might purchase large chunks of Bitcoin, once they crash the price to the dip.

Who might be buying the coins Grayscale are dropping on the market for sale? Another whales? I don't hope so... It should be an opportunity for small and new investors to reinforce their wallets with more BTCs and decrease the power and influence of whales inside Bitcoin market, at least a little.

I'm telling people to invest in Bitcoin, because this is a golden chance before the halving event, but after seeing what this Grayscale is doing, I'm not sure if I should keep encouraging people, or if we should wait the price to crash further in order to buy. I confess the influence range a single whale has inside the market worried me regards the future.
843  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Things you see in the society on: January 25, 2024, 09:47:12 PM
The most important thing society need to be develop and to ensure there is peace and unity among the people no matter the region you belong to which are part of the things that is affecting our societies today because our leaders are now selecting who to punish for the crime.
There will only be peace and unity if people who live in a society share the same values, morals and beliefs. We see so much internal conflicts nowadays inside local societies, because people don't "speak the same language" anymore, especially inside western societies where most people are splitted between two sides who don't agree in anything at all with each other, the called right and left wings or conservatives and liberals.

These people simply can't live in peace and united among themselves, because they believe in different things, have different customs, values and moral rules. And the more the ones at the command of the societies force these people to put up with each other, the worst things get... So I think the best solution would be if the societies splitted for real, geographically and gave 50% of the territory to each faction, so everyone would live accordingly to their beliefs, in peace and finally united by strong bonds, at least until one faction started coveting the achievements of the most advanced side and declared a war, what is also very likely to happen...

The question is, why a solution like this is never implemented, despite looking so obviously the most reasonable alternative for both sides of society?
844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: January 25, 2024, 09:31:56 PM
This makes my bet risk free as I know that even if I lose the bet i will lose only 1% of my gambling money.

I don't like that mindset as a gambler. It does mean that you are just gambling for nothing. Since for you, it's just 1% of your gambling money, then it's ok to throw that amount when you lose without realizing in the long-run, that 1% is already big in total. Just imagine that.
He can wager 1% of his bankroll on each bet, but on long run he is going to face more losses than winnings by following this static strategy. Actually, it's not possible to play for too long and make profit if you don't raise your bets after each loss. That is why Martingale strategy is used so often by gamblers, otherwise they wouldn't be able to make profit even on short run. And since it's needed to raise bet size on each loss, 1% as base bet is just too much. It doesn't give enough room to play consistently through a long loss streak without going bankrupt very shortly.

To most gamblers, it's hard to follow a strict rule of just risking 1% in gambling as the temptation is always there to continue. I also don't want to follow that idea but instead, I will just responsibly stop if I think my current gambling session seems unfortunate or in bad losing streak.
To know when to stop the gambler also has to draw his plan before start playing. Some bankroll managers like to define a 10% loss from the total gambling budget the right time to stop and call it a day, and I think it's a good number to not lose control over the funds and make it last longer along further gambling sessions for the next days.
845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do i handle my first gambling experience on: January 25, 2024, 04:51:36 PM
Also, understand that some persons have first-time luck and so if you are lucky enough to win your first bet, be guided that shouldn't trigger you into staking more than your income or staking with an amount you cannot afford to lose.
Always a gambler wins, he will feel more tempted into continuing gambling or into engaging himself in gambling activity more frequently along the following days. That is when the situation gets dangerous, because the more he plays, closest he gets to a long loss streak. At some point, inevitably all the initial profit made will be wasted and then he will have to decide chasing losses or just giving up on gambling for profit from that moment on.

In addition, guide against becoming an addict gambler, and this you can do by limiting the number of times you gamble in a week.
It's a precious piece of advice. To limit your time destined to gambling and to define a limited budget for gambling purposes are key factors when keeping gambling routine under control and avoiding the development of an addiction. Gambling must always remain as a secondary hobby in everyone's life, and not he main purpose and practice in someone's routine. Moreover, gambling is for people who already have money to spend, and not exactly for those who are searching for methods to make extra income or even looking for a regular job.
846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They know the truth but they don't want to accept it, publicly on: January 25, 2024, 04:36:22 PM
Gambling, can be fun to an  extent to some persons Especially to those who are rich and wealthy. I have come across rich politicians, business men, and Rich guys who just want to bet on their American football teams, basketball team ,football teams or countries to win not thinking about making profit at mind but just another way of supporting and love for their teams.
98% of gamblers, are people who intend to make profit from gambling. Actually, I don't think if there was no money or rewards in gambling the game itself will not be interesting. To win money or rewards, that is what interest people to invest their money on the game if there was no probability of winning money it will be like a football league or other competitions without the intention of winning a trophy. The money or rewards in gambling which you can win is what makes the game beautiful and interesting.
High executives, pensioners, heirs, government's officials, celebrities, politicians, that is, all these folks who have a fixed source of income, many contracts, a lot of influence and don't need to worry about money will have a good time gambling, because even though they are likely to lose on long run, like everyone else, they won't wake up on the next day suffering from severe headache and anxiety because they lost money which was going to be used to pay for the children school's monthly fee, or the electricity or water bills of the house. Those rich gamblers are going to lose huge sums of money and won't even get concerned about it on the following day. So how can anyone say these people aren't having fun while gambling, although they are still into losses?

The problem is when the poor gambler wants to play on the same intensity of the rich gambler. He doesn't have financial conditions to do so, his life is much harsh, he is probably by himself with a family to carry on his shoulders. Then, of course besides losing money gambling, this individual isn't going to have a good time, after all.
847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Transparent dices ? on: January 25, 2024, 04:24:23 PM
Good day or evening to all of you.
Some days ago I was reading about casinos, specifically brick and mortar ones, and I learnt that in most of those establishments people only use dices made with transparent resins or materials, so gamblers can be sure those are not rigged to favour some number over others. That made me think about how many times I have played with dices which are not transparent, but white/black.

If you were invited to a casino to play dices or if you visited a new casino in your town and realized they do not have transparent dices, would you feel like playing there and gamble your money anyways, or would you avoid it?

I believe it would be possible still to make rigged transparent dices, but it would be much more difficult without the proper substances and tools.
What do you think?

Quite an interesting topic and I think most people take for granted that the dice are fair. But I am wondering whether you can say with 100% certainty whether a dice is manipulated in some way even if they are transparent. In theory, I guess they could be produced in a way that they are still rigged despite being transparent. If some specific material is used that is heavier in one position of the dice but yet it is transparent, I think it would be impossible to tell if a dice is 100% provably fair.
It's true. Even though I wouldn't bother using the traditional white and black dice to play, since the dealer displayed all the dice's faces before rolling the dices, I'm aware they can still cheat through another means. Preferably, if you want to play dices, it's better to go to an online casino where you have the provably fair assurance the games' results are going to be legit. In my opinion, online casinos are more trustworthy than land based ones.

Some people may argue land based casinos are also regulated and licensed, but in fact, I don't think it means too much, because there are stories of such legal casinos which denied prizes to winners using unfair excuses, like glitches and bugs presented by their slot machines. Also, due to not having the provably fair feature available, physical casinos can manipulate results from times to times and still continue unnoticed by gamblers and regulators on their practices.
848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you preffer your dealer talkative or not? on: January 25, 2024, 03:51:54 PM
However, not all gamblers are comfortable of it and that's enough to not initiate with talks unless players started it themselves. Many gamblers are losing big time and if you are in their shoes, would you like to be distracted given that you're focused of getting what you have lost? I believe you won't and not making unnecessary talks and noises are also a form of respect given that you are not the only one playing. You are free to enjoy such feat but never expect that all people would also do; we have our own preference.
I agree with you. If a dealer starts talking a lot during the game, I would have a bad impression about him, because I would identify it as an attempt to distract me, consequently leading to mistakes and further losses. They have to understand what kind of public they are working with. If the dealer is among more extrovert gamblers, then he should engage in conversations without any issues, but if he spots to be working with an introvert public who isn't interesting in pushing conversations further, then he should remain silent and just do his job.

Personally, I don't have much interest in talking while gambling, because as OP said, dealers are just there doing their job for money, while in fact what they really want is to finish that as soon as possible to get back home, so why to pretend they want to talk, since they don't give any importance to that at all? Maybe to be polite, sympathetic, or something like this? It's understandable, but rather I prefer people to be genuine with their own wishes, moods and aspirations.

850  Economy / Economics / Re: Passion for skills. on: January 24, 2024, 07:04:07 PM
So, my question is very simple. What skills are you currently learning or have learned and are earning from, and what is the reason why you picked it?
I never thought about educating myself in a superior level, but after trying to develop my entrepreneurship skills in different home businesses, I reached the conclusion they were too time consuming, effort demanding for low income in counterpart, or without enough demand from the public to work sustainably, so I gave up and made a new attempt by entering a superior educational institution of Psychology for a degree on this area.

The main skills we learn on this working field are observational techniques, to understand what is happening with the individual to be treated and how we could further assist him through different techniques employed by therapists. There are other skills to be developed, such as logical thinking, ethics, empathy, kindness, perspicacity. I've chosen this area, due to personal experiences I had along my life with people around who made me realize this could be a field of work where I could be helpful to other people, besides it being a demanded kind of service from the modern service, which can't be replaced by AIs and new automatic technologies.
851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETFs - Good or Bad? on: January 24, 2024, 06:31:28 PM
ETFs are benefical to raise Bitcoin adoption among investors who can't take risks on their own, therefore they seek for middleman services in order to invest. This is the bright side of those funds, although I don't like the idea of concentrating high sums of money on centralized funds. It gives too much power to few individuals on the top positions of financial world, what in theory is the opposite of what Bitcoin proposed to bring to us.

One of the worst aspects of that, is the fact ETFs can be used to manipulate the market, leading coordinated massive sales of BTC, dumping the price and then pumping it again later. If the market were mainly composed by autonomous investors, this kind of market manipulation would be harder to practice.

Anyway, there isn't anything we can do about it. People look for centralization and regulations as a way to feel safer against the risks of a decentralized system, such as hacks, scams and personal mistakes when transacting online. We can't force people to invest by themselves and we can't forbid ETFs to exist. I don't think ETF is the knight on the white horse, although at same time I don't think it's one of the knights of the apocalypse. It has its pros and cons.
852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 24, 2024, 05:58:20 PM
But if we talk about excessive individuality, I think it's like some Indonesian players who want to dribble when they should be passing, or shoot when there should be a teammate who has a more open shooting space. But this can happen because there are some players who feel they have the qualities of European or American players.
It's exactly what we have been noticing as well. Maybe the players who acted like that thought that was their chance to stand out among their teammates, and be recognized by an international league or major team, through impressive individual moves along the match. However, in fact, it just displays egoistical and selfish behavior, which inevitably prejudices the whole team after all in most cases. It's possible they don't do this with bad intentions, it's just that their mindset wasn't properly prepared previously by the support of the team during the trainings.

But the Brazilian national team shouldn't have that. I mean of course people will think that Brazilian players are all good quality players. So prioritizing ego to look like a star is a big mistake that got Brazil to where it is today.
Yes, the focus should be to win the matches, as a team, for the country they are representing, instead of seeing this as an opportunity of leveraging their personal careers to the next level. There is no problems if they succeed further on their careers as consequence of their outstanding performance, but that shouldn't be the focus in a World Cup, anyway.
853  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: January 24, 2024, 05:36:37 PM
It's crazy how big the hype was about Bitcoin ETF approval. And it's even crazier how things finally went down. People were pumping Bitcoin with the hope of ETF approval, then it got completely approved by SEC and price is going down, that's crazy.
It should be expected, because always Bitcoin price rises a lot in a short time period, it suffers heavy correction.  ETF approval impacted Bitcoin positively immediately, but some big players already had orders placed to liquidate once the price reached around 47,000$ resistance level, so it dropped to 39,000$ price range, although BTC is recovering to 40,000$ once again at this moment. I believe that if ETF wasn't approved, Bitcoin wouldn't have had the chance to reach close to 46,000$ until now. Probably prices would have already crashed below the 38,000$ line with so much pessimism among investors due to a disapproval.

Now if Bitcoin is really strong, it will secure its position around 40,000$ at least, and move forward from now on. A deeper correction would be hard to explain, though, especially so close to halving event, which is supposed to drive prices upside.
854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been able to win a game given to you in the dream? on: January 24, 2024, 12:24:36 PM
So what experience have you entered in your dream about gambling?
Have you ever won a game from dream?

Please shear your experience.
No, I have never had predictive dreams, but I think I would try betting if I had one where I was told exactly what to do, although to dream you were winning a prize solely isn't enough. The practice of following the signals displayed on dreams is a common one along the generations. I have already heard stories of people who demanded their children to share the content of their dreams, so they could interpret its meaning and identify if there were any hidden hints of potential bet results on them, like numbers or animals which should be subsequently bet on by their parents at the lottery.

Maybe people were too superstitious back then, because if it was something working for real we would still see such practices happening until nowadays, while in fact we don't hear these stories too often anymore. Or is it that we are just losing contact with the supernatural and mysterious world beyond the physical matter? Wink
855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 24, 2024, 12:08:54 PM
All this is nonsense, people are always the same and now the pressure from society is stronger than before, so at least there is more ostentatious “correctness”.
How can people have always been the same if there is more ostentation nowadays, like you said above? If people are more ostentatious nowadays, consequently they aren't the same compared to previous times...

Human's nature has always been the same, although behavior patterns change depending the current moment and external influences. Right now we have an important phenomenon we didn't have in previous decades, at least with so much influence and contact with the masses: the internet. It has totally reshaped the tendencies, interests and behaviors of society, including soccer players, who are more like celebrities than anything else right now.

These players have never been moral standards on building a family and walking straight in life, but they did their jobs with excellency. However, now with internet they are more concerned about boasting a luxurious routine at parties, wearing fancy clothes, displaying a new hairstyle each new day, displaying how influent and connected they are with the world of celebrities in order to collect most likes, comments, shares and fans as possible.

On the other hand, in previous times, players did enjoy parties and messing around, but they didn't have the need of being idolized for that by the public. They had the conscience of having a responsability and a performance to be delivered to the nation. Nowadays, it looks like players don't care at all. If the game is lost, at least they will receive some million likes on social media crying in a picture, while receiving another million dollars from sponsor brands.

As for Brazil, now no team in the world (even the French) has such a strong generation of players to dominate as it was in those days, so there is a lot of confusion about randomness - the tournaments are short + - equal and many of the teams can win. Therefore, I see no reason to blame Brazil for anything, the only thing they are ossified about is that they do not hire Europeans. This is a serious mistake. A good European coach could achieve results with them.
They studied the possibility of hiring an european coach (Carlo Ancelotti from Real Madrid) for the national team, although decided recently for Dorival Jr., who has already worked previously with Flamengo and São Paulo. It looks like they have some resistance in picking someone who is not a brazilian to command the team. Brazilian players do have impressive skills, but don't have discipline and start losing self-confidence the further the championship reaches.
856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The need to control your emotions as a football fan. on: January 24, 2024, 11:40:23 AM
Lol, there was so much emotion and frustration on this match, I can't help but think that maybe the fans placed some bets on their country? Or maybe they just can't help it because they have so much love for their country?
They might have placed some bets on Ghana and got furious by the fact the underdog team managed to draw against the favorite. Maybe they even thought results could have been fixed, what potentially justifies so much dissatisfaction and rage from the crowd. If they love their country so much it's not through soccer they should show it, especially when creating troubles and quarrels with the members involved on the soccer industry of the country. Love for the country is shown in the daily life, when focused in improving life quality of the population, seeking to see the country developing itself in education, health, infrastructure and technology sectors. Sports should remain in second plan, at least in countries which aim to develop themselves as strong, independent and influent nations.

There are so many important and meaningful things to be angry about, that to put all their energies into a lost soccer match seems a big waste. What difference would it make for real if the national team would have won? Would it bring more food into the table next day? Unless there was money wagered, the answer is no, so it really makes no sense to fight for something so insignificant like that, also because they may be risking their lives by doing so...
857  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin Drop to Zero? on: January 24, 2024, 01:58:37 AM
No one wishes for Bitcoin to become zero, because if that happens then this entire community would really be freaking out on whats going on into this world on which it is really that hard to believe that
Bitcoin would really be dethroned by some altcoins on which we know that it isnt really just that right, but we know that there's no such thing on this world that couldnt happen. Everything could
happen and it would really be that depending into the communities decisions and support of course. If it tends out to fade away then expect that there would really be something
better that would patch up.

It is really just that as an investor or believer or crypto enthusiast on which it is really just that right that you should really know on what you are doing.
Dont make yourself do stick into a single investment but rather it would be always best and wise that you should really be having multiple.
Invest and diversify on which this had been always been recommended.
Don't worry, it's not going to happen. There is too much demand for Bitcoin, therefore it's not going to reach zero price. Actually, when Bitcoin's price fall some thousands of dollars, there are already people ready to buy and push the price upside once again. Investors don't let the price crash too much, so it's definitely not going to zero. Bitcoin is too precious for that, and everyone with basic knowledge about modern economics and the future of finances is aware about it. If Bitcoin were so unstable and uncertain at the point of hiting zero value on the next day, I doubt there would be so many whales, businessmen, governments and even the wealthiest man on Earth worried about this digital currency. The potential is just huge!

Also, don't worry about altcoins, because so far none of them have conditions to overcome Bitcoin in dominance. I believe Bitcoin is free to rule for at least two decades on this market yet, although we need to be conscious nothing lasts forever in this physical world, as everything is constantly changing, evolving and adapting.

858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You will do in this situation? on: January 23, 2024, 10:25:02 PM
If you were in this situation, what would you do? Introduce him to sports betting or let him stick to playing slots. Yesterday, I just let it go but we still often meet at other activities.
You can talk about gambling with each other, so you may mention sports betting and ask if he is aware about this gambling category. However, I don't think you need to introduce him to sports betting, anyway. Most gamblers betting on sports still lose, so you won't be making a great deal by introducing him to this modality justifying it's going to bring profitability, while slots machine isn't. There is even some risk he will complain and blame you if he loses, claiming you advised him to bet on sports because it was better, although he still lost money on it (because of you).

If it was a solid earning or job opportunity, I would highly advise you to share it with the man, but since it's not the case, let him play what he considers to be more entertaining for him. If slots is being enjoyable for him and can give him a relieving break from the daily burden, let him be.
859  Economy / Economics / Re: The savings problem on: January 23, 2024, 06:28:41 PM
So, do you agree that radical changes are needed?
We do agree changes are needed, although nobody knows for sure which changes should happen to assure the results we are looking for. Some will claim more financial freedom is needed, while others defend more state's intervention. In the end, none of the measures promoted seem to work for real, because there is a common human factor on both methodologies which is fail and ended preventing considerable positive results appearing for everyone, especially nowadays, since individuality has grown stronger than ever, and people became more egoistical and selfish.

So if someone is able to thrive in life through any means, he won't care enough if everybody else is also doing well or facing harsh situations in life, like you mentioned in your post. These people are on top positions of the world, and of course don't want any changes at all, because it's comfortable for them how the system is right now. In my opinion, although we always have God watching and intervening for us, we are by ourselves in this physical world, thinking at society's level. You can't rely on authorities, coaches, celebrities, businessmen and fake messiahs who appear on our modern society from times to times in order to make a change in your life for the better.

What we can try doing is to find gaps on this wicked system we live in, so we can improve our standards and life quality step by step. Bitcoin is one of these gaps, while other gaps involve certain attitudes you have for yourself, such as keeping your monthly budget under control, avoiding superfluous companions and empty women, boasting parties and rides, and of course, not starting a family without a planning in advance.

The extreme change or measure here is to respond to an individual and selfish society with more individuality from your part. That is how we survive these days, I suppose...
860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin completely erase the Traditional Banking System? on: January 23, 2024, 05:52:28 PM
For one, I would say that moreover that Bitcoin has gained popularity and also disrupted the financial industry , it is only safe to say that it is unlikely to replace the traditional banking system in the nearest future. I mean , mortgages , loans and financial services are functions that are carried out by these traditional banking systems. But then, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have the potential to provide alternative options and challenge certain aspects of the traditional banking system .. What do you think?
Bitcoin isn't going to erase or replace traditional banking system. As far as I can see, banks are actually introducing Bitcoin and crypto assets to their offerered services to customers, so they are bringing crypto to the traditional banking system in a centralized way. It means you won't have total control over your assets, like you would in a decentralized system. You buy Bitcoin, but who controls it are the banksters. You can't even send your BTCs to another wallets and addresses, as they only allow you to sell it for fiat and then use the fiat as you wish.

Mortgages, loans and financial services can be offered through Bitcoin currency, but not by autonomous individuals inside a decentralized system. Rather, such BTC services will still be offered by banks. The system adapts itself to the current conditions to remain untouchable and ruling the masses. The idea we, independent citizens, are going to be "free" someday in this world from financial institutions and centralized parties is just an illusion.
