841  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN PRICE on: January 01, 2018, 05:58:18 PM
Just buy bitcoin. Buy as much as you can as fast as you can because it will go up forever until one bitcoin is worth a trillion dollars. You let me worrying about selling. You just buy and buy bitcoin until it hurts. Buy until you can’t afford food or a roof over your head.

It is kind of odd though that “Altcoin announcements” is the most active section of this forum by a 10x lead. Never mind that, you just keep buyin more with every paycheck you get until I can afford my new boat. LOL

843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What company would you want to have accept Bitcoin? on: January 01, 2018, 05:19:11 PM
Any of them and I would like all the companies that have stopped accepting bitcoin to start up again. The top eCommerce companies are dropping bitcoin.

The problem with fees is making it unusable for small payments, but it's only a matter of time before everything starts moving again. Even if that means we'll have to switch to 2x or the lightning network. Everything will have to be resolved this year. We had the block size debate last year and nothing has changed. I don't think Bitcoin will survive another year in this state.

I don’t think bitcoin (in its current form) will ever disappear completely now because of several factors.

The Wall Street ETFs and investment futures conmen don’t care how fast the network is (in fact they are afraid to change it) because they don’t trade bitcoin, they trade futures. You buy or sell a futures contract based on whether you think bitcoin prices are headed up or down. Eventually, I expect the CME to create options on futures contracts: traders will be able to buy and sell “puts and calls,” the right to buy (a “call” option) or sell (a “put” option) a bitcoin futures contract at a particular price by a particular date. They don’t do anything to help bitcoin just as they don’t do anything to help orange pickers pick oranges just because they trade in Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice.

The first bitcoin miners are holding roughly 40% of all bitcoins in existence. They want the bottleneck because that’s creating major price swings that generate the profit levels that allow them to sell out thousands of bitcoins with each swing upward. It drops they wait for new blood to enter the market then sell down slightly maximizing their profit. If the bottleneck was removed, evenly metered buying and selling would happen as bitcoins currency economy grew and bitcoins exchange rate would stabilize. That’s because the velocity of money increases price stability. Everyone on this forum subscribes to the quantity theory of money and completely abandons understanding the velocity. If you sold thousands of coins at that point the exchange rate would stabilize at the new lower exchange rate. The first bitcoins you sell would sell for much more than the last ones you sell. If you were one of the group of major holders sitting on millions of bitcoins, in this scenario the first coin you sell would make you $20,000 the last coin you sell would make you a dollar.

These two groups need to support the status quo. I’ve seen so many people on this forum look at the blocksize issue and fee issue with confusion and disgust because they fail to realize that bitcoin is the most manipulated commodity the world has ever seen. It’s that way for a reason, the people holding all the chips want it that way.
844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: January 01, 2018, 04:37:25 PM
Every “get rich quick scheme” is always replaced by the next “get rich quick scheme”. Just give it time. Or better yet, try to be on the ground floor of the next one.
845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most of Bitcoin Exchanges' Founders are COLLUDING on: January 01, 2018, 04:25:58 PM
Big whales are always the ones that dictates what the prices should be.
We can't do anything to stop them since they hold more than 70% from the total supply. If they sell a little bit from what they have at low price then all others will follow, the same thing if they hold then there will be not enough sypply circulating in the market and thus the price will rise.
If you want to make success in the cryptocurrency market you should copy their strategies.

It’s not 70%, it’s more like 60%. Supposedly, only 21 million bitcoins are in existence (however invisible, digital and intangible that may be). It is said that a thousand early buyers of the digital coin own fully 40% of the world’s supply. (And I bet ya dozens of these bitcoin billionaires are drug smugglers, given that’s how bitcoin got its start.) You are betting on the honesty and integrity of drug dealers when you buy bitcoin as a long term investment.

Bitcoin investment contracts and ETFs are managed by professional Wall Street investment firms. They do nothing for bitcoin because they don’t buy and sell bitcoin. While they hold a quantity of bitcoin, that bitcoin never moves. They trade in futures, just like oranges or pork bellies. They don’t trade in orange futures by handing a bag of oranges back and forth on the trading floor! Be careful trusting and following what these investors do. They are out to make a fat stack of cash just like Bernie Madoff was. If one of them gets caught doing something unscrupulous bitcoins price will crash to zero pretty quick. Insider trading is illegal (just ask Coinbase), it’s easy to get caught and it’s very tempting. Be careful!

848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most of Bitcoin Exchanges' Founders are COLLUDING on: December 31, 2017, 06:21:28 PM
I don’t think that can happen because fiat currency exchanges are regulated by the government in every country in the world. Most of them have government oversight by employees who’s only job is to monitor the exchange. BTCe and BitInstant (Charlie Shrem) were taken down by that oversight.

Don’t worry, if they are colluding to commit a crime then it won’t be long before they join the owners of BTCe in prison.
849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Tax : coinbase on: December 31, 2017, 06:03:38 PM
There are very few countries in Europe (I think zero  Grin) where you don't have to pay taxes on your income.  Talk to an accountant in your country!  You don't want to take any chances with the law.

Income tax is a fraud. You have to pay tax for your own work? With your own tools? What the hell did the government provide to help you? It's no different than the protection taxes used by mobsters in the past.

What do you have against fire departments, street lights, highways and grade schools? If we eliminate taxes are you going to pay for those things? No, you won’t because you’re a sociopath that hates society. The rest of us have to threaten you to make you pay your share. We do that by using taxes. LOL

851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Satoshi Nakamoto found Bitcoin with 21.000.000 coin? on: December 31, 2017, 05:39:18 PM
Why did Satoshi Nakamoto create the Bitcoin protocol with 21,000,000 coins, and not with 50,000,000 or 100,000,000,000 for example?

2,100,000,000,000,000 Satoshi fit in a floating point "double" with two bits to spare. This allows programs to use standard numeric code libraries without worrying about truncation errors - there's enough to have a rounding bit and a guard bit. In contrast, Litecoin's 8,400,000,000,000,000 Satoshi is right on the limit.

Try these steps in a calculator on your desktop computer:

2100000000000000 [multiply] 4 [equals] [minus] 1 [equals] [divide] 4 [equals]
2100000000000000 [multiply] 8 [equals] [minus] 1 [equals] [divide] 8 [equals]

On my computer, the first calculates 2099999999999999.75 showing than no precision was lost. The second produces the original number showing that the "subtract one" was lost.

Now try these:

2099999999999999 [divide] 3 [equals] [multiply] 3 [equals]
8399999999999999 [divide] 3 [equals] [multiply] 3 [equals]

The first returns me to the original value, the second doesn't! This means that a Litecoin like limit would need careful handling of numbers.

Yes, because he wasn’t a very good C Coder and used the C++ standard library. That’s not to say it can’t be changed in the future with very little effort. That would fracture Bitcoin though and create two “bitcoins” confusing users and fucking bitcoin for all time so it’s very doubtful that would happen. If you’re a coder you should take a look at Blitz++. It’s pretty cool.
852  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to sell? on: December 31, 2017, 04:24:37 PM
Let me worry about selling. You just buy and buy with every dollar you can get your hands on. Gutless pussies sell. Real men just keep buying until they bleed.

The island I’m planning on buying in the South Pacific with your money will have satellite internet. As soon as I get settled in on the island I’ll send you a PM telling you when it’s time to sell. For now you just keep buyin. LOL
853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great News For Bitcoin! Lightening Network First Payment Was Successful! on: December 31, 2017, 03:53:30 PM
I can’t wait to watch the great blockchain prize fight that’s going to happen between Ripple and Lightning networks.

Ripple uses blockchain technology, has its own token (XRP) and can be used to verify any type of transfer including existing banking transfers. Ripple has the support of big banking (like American Express, RBC, Westpac and The Bank of Tokyo) and can speed up existing transfer methods to keep current banking in power.

Lightning does not have its own blockchain technology but instead is a scripting language (special run-time environment that automates the execution of tasks), it requires the bitcoin blockchain (or some other blockchain) to survive but it does not use a blockchain for transactions. It only uses a blockchain for final proofing. Because of that is does not have its own token. It also does not have the support of current banking systems and has no large corporate sponsors with a vested interest in making it work. The major plus of lightning is if bitcoin fails or falters with the click of a keyboard it can use some other blockchain as its “enforcement” system. The downside is that major banking will likely never accept it a a payment system.

854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple Surges to Become The Second Most Valued Cryptocurrency on: December 31, 2017, 01:24:42 AM
Ripple is truly the future. It’s hard to believe how many angel investors and venture capital investment professionals threw themselves behind Jed McCaleb. Ripple settles payments in 4 seconds and can perform 50,000 transactions a second. Jed McCaleb is going to be so rich.

Cross-chain atomic swaps will help whatever cryptocurrency becomes the predominate one. Not just bitcoin. Joseph Poon and Thaddeus Dryja are going to become famously wealthy regardless of which crypto wins. Congrats!

Apart from Pineapple fund there is Bithope. You can start a campaign there. Right now there is a campaign running, no child should grow up alone - Radi's new Christmas. The campaign has a video and backed by a popular NGO, SOS Children's Villages.

https://bithope.org/campaign/support-radis-new-christmas-campaign

And there is another campaign, support Edward Snowden, here's how we take back the internet. Short description and Snowden's official Bitcoin address.

https://bithope.org/campaign/support-whistleblower-edward-snowden-with-bitcoin

Not saying you are a scammer, but like you said you will register a charitable foundation and upload a video, you have to do these things first to make your cause look legit or you have to be someone like Snowden. Have you volunteered for any NGOs that are into helping sick children in you locality? Rather than registering your own foundation, for a start isn't it better to associate yourself with a well-established NGO supporting your same cause (fundraising for sick kids) and start an online campaign on Pineapple funds or Bithope?

You think this person might not be a scammer?

Ask yourself this, what reputable charities are on this forum begging for money? Most reputable charities don’t know about bitcoin or how bitcoin works so why would they beg for bitcoin? What reputable charity have you ever seen go to a public forum and beg for money? What reputable charity does not have a website? Why would a respectable charity that may know about bitcoin know about Ethereum and ask for donations in that too (maybe Litecoin but not Ethereum)?

If your still not convinced, Belarus requires all charities to register. Ask for the registration number. If you really want to help sick children in Belarus then contact the Belarusian Children’s Fund here: http://www.bcf.by/en/

I realized that you are a skeptic. Well .. I indicated the two most popular crypto-currencies.
I'm not an authority charitable organization. I am an individual and I want to prove my competence before registering the fund.
Accepting donations in the crypto currency is simpler and more effective today. No fund accepts the crypto currency today and this slows down the collection of donations.
And once again I want to say that I am ready to show my passport to prove that I'm not a fraud. But I am sure that you will say that I am a scammer, even if I disclose my data.

OK, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. I’ll also give you some free advice that will help you and keep you from wasting your time. Stop posting on this forum begging for money because the people here have been scammed too much over the last seven years and will never give you a dime. If you really are a humanitarian and care about these poor sick children then donate your time to the Belarusian Children’s Fund. If you continue to post here even after this warning then I know that you’re a fraud and a scammer.

Btw: government documents are easy to fake. Just ask any kid that’s used a fake ID to buy alcohol.

I regularly donate money to children. I really wanted to help, using the blockchain, because it's quick and easy. But you are right, a lot of scammers who deceived you for seven years, so you no longer believe anyone.
But you are right. I stop my desire in this thread. No one is interested in this, unfortunately.

Good move on abandoning this thread. If you want to use crypto to help the children in your area then contact the Belarusian Children’s Fund (they have a street address, you can go there if your close enough) and convince them to accept all cryptos. Offer to help them set up the donations, figure out a place to get the fiat conversion for free (yes, that’s possible at several places for verified charities), help them with the website donation addresses and wallets. You can help in the way you want if you’re serious.

860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forbes Magazine calls Bitcoin a "Great Scam" on: December 30, 2017, 04:24:22 PM
International magazines keep saying the same Bitcoin scam and many govt gave notice to bitcoin warnings if bitcoin reach 1 million dollars then also they will say it is scam

Does anyone on this forum actually know how to read? The author says, in plain language, that bitcoin is NOT a scam. The way bitcoin is being marketed is the scam.

The author postulates that people (like the cheerleaders on this forum and elsewhere) are presenting this computer generated number as if it has some intrinsic value. That is the scam because it’s simply not true.

Cheerleaders on this forum would have you believe that the US dollar is not backed by anything either and that is simply not true. The US dollar is backed by consumer confidence in a government with the largest military infrastructure in the world that is willing to fight to ensure its survival.

Bitcoin is backed by the belief that no one will change bitcoin at some point in the future to have more than 21m coins (which may or may not be true). They tell you that scarcity creates value. If scarcity creates value then let me sell you some of my belly button lint. It’s pretty scarce so it must be priceless.

His argument is: If you don’t fall for the “short supply makes it valuable” argument then bitcoin is just a number like any other number. It has no value.

I don’t know how to make it any more clear for you people.

The article title is nothing but click bait. Bitcoin in its current form is something which every individual can analyze and evaluate. If the way Bitcoin cheerleaders are marketing it is a scam, so is the way the detractors like Jamie Dimon go about disparaging it. The media unfortunately highlights only the extreme views of both sides.

Of course it’s click bait BUT if the article was talking about “The Great Bitcoin Scam” and it was about how evil Butterfly Labs was or what a scumbag Mark Karpeles was everyone would cheer the author for his insight.

All of these idiot sig campaigners are not even reading the article and commenting on it so they can earn a little beer money. At least attempt to read it before you comment is all I’m sayin. Earn your beer money. Either that or they have the comprehension skills of a 10 year old.
