You can't find merchant which is true but that how UPI used to be when it was launched but when Google Pay formerly called TEZ came to market and changed everything now even road side pani puri bhaiya have QR code to accept UPI payments.

You can send erupee to anyone if they have erupee wallet but as I said it may take few more years and if government start promoting it then it has potential to grow.
Comparing Google to Indian government? That is a way longshot comparison to make. Shocked

However I might be proven wrong and you might end up being correct. But with the UPI system being already popular, I dont see how a e-Rupee is able to take over and squish in between. Maybe its targeted at the crypto users, but do that group care? I think not. They will use UPI for fiat payments and continue using crypto.
844  Local / India / Re: Future of Indian Economy on: December 13, 2023, 03:47:26 PM
Slowly Indians are moving out from a socialist mentality to a capitalist mentality. With more and more people doing odd jobs to live a decent life in India. If it was 10 years back then no one could have imagined that such kind of odd jobs would be available for anyone. I mean you do not need to pass multiple layers of tests and interviews to get this kind of job. You only need a smartphone and a two-wheeler to become a delivery partner.
Still then their jobs are not easy and often they face a number of problems. With customers who refuse to come out of their house when the delivery person has arrived and keep on wasting their time to random dogs who are owned by the customer who start barking and 1-star givers who blame the delivery person for the food price, these people have their share of stories to make.

I never give less than 5stars to any delivery person - I have never yet faced a legitimate problem from their side either.

But it is a job that need your daily time to be sacrificed. If you fall sick or your family members do, then its zero earning for the next few days or more. Its a constant hustle and that leads to more mental and physical burden = high burnout.
845  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think that visionary leaders make great CEOs? on: December 13, 2023, 03:41:22 PM
A lot of reasons make a good CEO, being supportive of subordinates, knowing what their strengths and weaknesses are and having a vision. Just having one of these will not make them a good CEO though.

This is what many leaders distribute the responsibilities. It shows that nobody is perfect and that such leaders who are maximally qualified are rare in number. But that one person can make or break a company and the rest will lead a lavish life from what he/she has created provided the next group maintains it.

Is the OP going through a bad time with their CEO? Just making a guess. Grin
846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Heritage is Some How Spiritual on: December 13, 2023, 03:34:49 PM
These clubs have had their heritage and indeed it is somewhat spiritual. The fans and their craze and the emotion that goes into these games is on another level. That is why gambling on these games is common and has become regular from majority of sports players out there.

Some game lovers might disagree here that the heritage is being destroyed by gambling and the fan-craze, but I see these things as one fuels the other and if you have craze you will have betting happening too and its good for the games and the companies that run them.

Overall, we should do our part in preserving the heritage.
847  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: December 13, 2023, 03:28:52 PM
Has anyone seen any Rollbit banner or any type of ads in any sporting events? I just find it amusing seeing crypto casino and sportsbooks brands being advertised in football and other sports or games. The latest sponsorship I've seen is the recently concluded Mosconi cup.
Haven't seen much of them since gambling openly is somewhat a grey area where I live. Here its mostly fantasy sports and that certain wolf site which has its banners on every cab in the city.

Sportsbooks are way more popular in this regard making sure to buy the ad spaces on stations, bus stops, grounds and even player's T-shirts. Maybe in near future rollbit might be able to enter those names too. Lets make sure to promote it and make it popular from our side. Grin
848  Other / Meta / Re: Was the forum better before without Merit or is it better now with Merit? on: December 13, 2023, 03:19:26 PM
When was merit first added to the forums?
A little bit of searching around the forum and from help of search engines or by reading the threads started by theymos you can find this out yourself, let that be your homework. Roll Eyes

What were the old ways of ranking up?
By being active you would attain a activity of 14 every 14 days. Now read the rank requirements and just remove the merit requirement from there and only activity remains. That was what determined rank at that time. To get that activity people used to post, but that posting became spam because it was easy to rank up many accounts owned by the same person.
849  Local / India / Re: Future of Indian Economy on: December 12, 2023, 12:57:51 PM
Also India's population is very young compared to many other countries. The average age of the population is only 28. Can you understand what kind of social unrest will happen if this huge amount of population is not able to find a mean of living! Do not always trust what the government says. India is still an under developed country and we have a long way to go.
The average Indian youth under 30 earns around 10k - 25k Rupees per month and with that there is a struggle to survive with the rising prices. This means that the hunt for better work and thus the hunt for better degrees which can fetch them those higher jobs.

Still the people who are giving the jobs are lot but its getting competitive for the youth and thus a lot of social problems are arising.

India has a long way to go in terms of the development and job creation. Heck they spend very low on the healthcare in GDP which was criticized and that leads to poor government infrastructure when its needed. Although the current government is trying to correct a few, there is problem in the roots.
850  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Re: Let's Discuss About Movies and TV Shows! on: December 12, 2023, 12:52:28 PM
I am more into the Hollywood stuff and dabble in Bollywood from time to time. I will keep posting my picks from time to time here.

Recently say The Railway Men, it was a suspenseful thriller indeed.

Few older classics that I can recommend
1. Memento - if you think Ghajini is the epitome of violence (which led to a lot of controversy at that time), you should see this movie by Christopher Nolan from which Ghajini was remade. Its way way more violent but a good one.
2. Shutter Island

For those who are into War classics:
1. The Reader
2. Schindler's List
851  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Biggest risk of P2P trade on: December 12, 2023, 12:47:42 PM
Common problems in P2P exchanges that I have observed,

1. Many p2p ads are there to lure the trader outside the forum - dont do that even if the offer is lucrative, because the machinery of the site is made to prevent scams.

2. Scammers will attempt to reverse bank transactions of freeze accounts on your bank later on too. These should be properly solved by the bank and the website with help from the victim. It can be a scary situation so dont use your main bank account to trade.

3. Lack of liquidity - sites like BISQ are pretty darn good, but they are ill-liquid and have security deposit to make before you can start trading.
852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 12, 2023, 12:37:03 PM
Time limitation is easy to cross and how are the players going to get policed about that time is the next question. Automatically shut off their system from playing? Sounds more like the angry moms who scolded their kids from playing video games for more than an hour or so.

Of course less time spent means less chances of accumulated losses. If this is done religiously and the money spent is controlled as well, the gambler can develop discipline and gamble responsibly.

Still the concept should be applied on a personal basis and see if they are able to control their habit.
853  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you work toward hodling bitcoin? on: December 12, 2023, 12:32:57 PM
So, don’t regret so much because it really is hard to hold till now. It’s the same way a lot of people will sell if Bitcoin only got a few thousands above what it is worth currently.
I first saw bitcoin in its 600 - 700$/BTC days and those were some days worth buying bitcoin to be able to sell now. After that we were going only up and never back down to that price. It does feel special to be one of those mid range adopters and I can understand the frustration of the current crypto newbies because they are getting in at much higher prices.

Nevertheless, you have to accept this as it is. Prices often go down maybe not to three digits but worth buying at 20-30k USD if a drop happens again.

Always cycle the money from the high to the low and not get carried away by too low prices to buy at because they are not coming anytime soon.

I don't understand how can one say that Martingale works in the beginning and not after, it's purely based on luck.
It is just a sequence of when to increase the bet size. It has nothing to do with luck. < mistyped, it is all about luck. If you lose a bet and double your betting amount does it influence the next bet? It does not because the house edge remains same and it just a new bet every time, the seeds remain same.

It is easy to execute and thus popular and has become a stable first hand attempt at gambling by most newbies. Roll Eyes

For the serious people here, use it when you have nothing else to use and still want to make some money from what you have left.
855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the absance of Bitcoin affect the crypto Industry? on: December 11, 2023, 03:46:52 PM
Firstly, OP please edit the spelling mistake in the title "Absence" and not what you wrote above.

Secondly, people outside bitcoin's sphere tend to speak about a lot of things good and bad about crypto. You dont need to take that personally but with a (or a lot) grain of salt.

The actions speak louder than words, so observe what happens in future and where the ADA vs BTC battle goes and not what someone speaks at a meetup and jump out of your couch hearing that. The concept of a BTC-killer or something that can outwit bitcoin has been here since bitcoin came in. None of the assets have had any such advantage over bitcoin, till date.
856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The risk and reward of having Bitcoin on: December 11, 2023, 03:42:27 PM
The disadvantages are not significant if you have been using bitcoin for some time now, yes for newbies coming from a fiat background it might seem difficult at the beginning but they eventually catch up. Fortunately I never ran into such troubles in my newbie days but I have read about many users here who messed things up. Government crackdown is one scary thing because we all have to abide by the local laws, I an hopeful that in future this might improve.

Acceptance will improve in future. This is from what I have been observing around bitcoin over the last few years in the news and media.
857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigeria socialite went all in on this sport bet on: December 11, 2023, 03:33:13 PM
We still have a num of them that keep things real and won't fake things on social media just to gain views,  likes and comments,  this is not true with some of them because for some one like E Money, he is too big to fake such an amount in bet even though the source of the news are good at putting up unverified content,
But what I have observed is that people like to live in fantasies and if you are promoting that coolaid, you get their support and you can grow your own channel via that support. Therefore channels and pages that promote the fantasy worlds will always have a bigger crowd following them than those who speak the truth because the truth is bitter to hear.

This is true in many aspects, not just gambling and fakers who promote gambling in the wrong manner. Pseudo-science peddlers and fake cures are there on social media and they peddle the wrong ideas only for their own gains.

This is why scientific thought and reasoning are important, with that one can understand the in gambling casinos always win in the cumulative long run.
858  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Which mining stocks are holding? on: December 11, 2023, 03:24:45 PM
I am also of the opinion to buy bitcoin rather than buying companies that are mining bitcoin. They are exposed to the risk of price drop in halving and government regulations on miners. While buying bitcoin has lesser risk than that.

I am personally interested in investing in a mining setup - buying their shares but this is different, here you are buying stocks of the company not the mining setup and what costed it to be developed - there is a subtle difference here.

But I have failed to see any such mining setup and investments in the same till date that are legit and have not been scams.

Martingale doesn't always fail though and I am living proof of that. It's a useless strategy in the long-term and will suck up your bankroll quickly, but it's actually pretty effective in the short-term if you play smartly.
I have seen bets placed on martingale strategy to be on a winning streak and if stopped right there the net profit might be good. But there is this habit of gamblers to not stop when having wins and so the reds will suddenly take over as the bet size keeps getting bigger and you are out of balance.

Quote
For example, Rollbit duel arena is a good place to execute this strategy in the short-term thanks to zero house edge.
Its a PvP game and we are mostly talking about the dice game on freebitco.in - I have seen blackjack players use doubling the base bet method on a loss for many of their games. So its not limited to dice games, but should be used with caution, because it is not guarantee of wins but only a method to use the remaining balance to try to maximize the lost money.

Loading rupee is just flawless, no error at all, but I just went with the smallest denomination possible 2 while irony is there is literally zero merchant in my entire district.
Ah, the Demand/Supply ratio. With no merchants the app is essentially useless. Since its a pilot project, this should change in the coming days. Just keep that app installed and check back with the officials to see how things progress.

I also got a notification from the Bank's app, but I did not feel like following it up.

I can see on play store the ICICI bank's app for the same is this

Has the other banks launched their apps too?
