842  Economy / Economics / Re: Without government job we can survive on: October 08, 2023, 05:18:37 PM
Well I think I could survive without a government job here in the United States, but that being said, I work directly with the government.  I run the state of Illinois Deferred Compensation plan which is the governments form of a 401k.  The way I see it, I got in to this industry to fight for and create change.  I am able to do so while working for the government and that's a great feeling of satisfaction that I get from it.
843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can change lives on: October 08, 2023, 05:15:18 PM
For me bitcoin can change lives in ways that have NOTHING to do with "profits" or "gains", to me it's all about what bitcoin represents which is a level of freedom that we've never seen before.  It represents a new money system that takes away the tyranny of traditional fiat that our government "overlords" have placed upon us.

This is how bitcoin has changed my life, not profits.
844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Ever Made Such Mistake Before, But Won still? on: October 08, 2023, 05:12:12 PM
I think we've all made mistakes before when it comes to gambling and think that we lost and then it turns out we accidently did something different than we thought we had and end up winning.  For me it's picking the wrong spread, meaning I bet on the wrong team on accident but end up winning because of it.  I just thank the fantasy gods and make sure to try and not do it again lol.
845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How will you feel if it happens to you just like this? on: October 08, 2023, 05:10:16 PM
I have tough losses all the time or games that I KNOW I should have bet but didn't or forgot to.  It happens to me ALL the time.  That said, I try not and take it any further than that weekend.  If you sit and let it stew, you're just going to drive yourself nuts unnecessarily, and whats the point of doing that.

Just make simple easy bets is all I can say.  Don't stress so much.

What a game by the Bears last night!  Don't get me wrong, I know they aren't all of a sudden some great team, but the progress of Justin Fields has looked very real over these past two games.  I mean he looks like a different quarterback all together.  I've always maintained that he has the skill set to be great, he just needed to put it all together.

I give them props for a more aggressive offensive strategy, and can't wait to see how this plays out over the rest of the year.

I'm banking on Chicago winning more games than the giants if you know what I mean Smiley  now I need the panthers and Cardinals to win a couple.

And Taylor back on the field with a fresh new contract.  I wonder how quickly they are gonna bump Zach moss and give him the keys to the backfield.  I need jt to be good badly lol.  My team has shit the bed so far

Back off, I want that mf first pick damnt!! lol.  That being said we also get the Carolina Panthers first pick and they are pretty god damn bad two, so I've got two shots at Caleb and I want both of them to hit as close to last place as possible.  Yeah that means rooting against my own team but whatever, I want a generational quarterback.

That all said, Fields is starting to look special! Let's see how that continues to play out.
847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is this fascination with claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto? on: October 06, 2023, 07:26:20 PM
There is a simple answer to this.  Take the extinguished "Dr" Craig Wright. The man is first of all a pathological liar.  He has his own shitcoin (BSV) and is going to continue to keep his lie up because this means more money for him.  He tricks people in to believing that he's Satoshi, then they are more willing to buy his products, donate money to his "foundation" etc.

Simple as that for this fraudster.
848  Economy / Economics / Re: Women are more economical than men. on: October 06, 2023, 07:23:17 PM
As a financial advisor, this is something that I've got a great deal of expertise and experience with.  I would tend to agree that women are indeed more "economical' than men.

I just tend to see women being more concerned about their finances, how much money they are spending etc.  Of course there are plenty that aren't very economical, just the same as men.  But overall, I agree.
849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which games offer the best chance of a big win? on: October 06, 2023, 07:20:39 PM
I mean technically the games that give you the best chance to win big or card games.  Games that take skill, that aren't manipulated by the casino (slots, for example are something we all know are manipulated).  If you're good at the table games, then you've got a better chance of winning big versus playing something like a slot machine which is a complete gamble.
850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Provable fairness should be mandated by law! ONLY gamble in provably fair casino on: October 06, 2023, 07:18:30 PM
There is no question that this should be something that is mandated by law.  I can't believe that there are even casinos out there that don't have "provably fair" parameters.

Honestly though, I think all casinos cheat to some extent.  They have their little secrets, and I always approach any casino with a bit of caution.  But provably fair is a great first step, or at least something that's a game changer in terms of choosing a casino.

852  Economy / Economics / Re: Chase Bank New Policy On Crypto - Users Beware !!! on: October 05, 2023, 06:19:14 PM
WOW, just wow.  Chase bank and the other large corrupt ass banks (Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America etc) are the reason I got in to cryptocurrency in the first place.  Chase now telling us what we can and can't do with our own money?! FUCK them.

Take a look at this site  https://violationtracker.goodjobsfirst.org/parent/jpmorgan-chase  .. Chase has nearly 40 BILLION dollars in fraud violations since the year 2000.  Think about that, 40 billion dollars and Jamie Dimon is lauded as some "great ceo".  He's the ring leader of one of the most corrupt organizations on the planet!!
853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest only in Bitcoin and never invest in shitcoin on: October 05, 2023, 06:15:20 PM
There is NO QUESTION that bitcoin is indeed the best cryptocurrency out there.  But keep in mind there are other cryptocurrency coins that have legitimate utility. Monero for example has utility as a truly anonymous coin.  Ethereum for smart contracts, Litecoin for faster speeds/cheaper transactions.  But with that said, bitcoin certainly stands above all else.
854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: October 05, 2023, 06:09:00 PM
Dude you're calling those of us in our 40's (or close to) old?!  That makes me extremely depressed  Cheesy

The answer to the question though is who knows??  I remember being a kid and playing with my toys and thinking to myself "I love playing with toys, I will always do so even when I grow up" but of course I phased out of it.  This is also sort of like the question I've always asked, will I keep listening to hip hop when I'm older.  Well I'm nearly 40 and love it just as much as I did when I was 15.  Just like with listening to hip hop, I can't see myself stopping gambling because I'm getting older.  And man, 42 is not old! lol
855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you manage greed to place your bet on: October 05, 2023, 06:04:46 PM
yes.. I often do that, when my target hasn't been achieved I keep playing and hope that my target is achieved but everything runs out before I reach the target.

It is difficult to find a definite formula so that we can control finances and greed. Maybe we can only use feelings, if we feel that our luck is not good, we should stop playing and withdraw the remaining money before it is all gone. But it is always easier to say and very difficult to practice.

Maybe just step aside the money that you want to play and you will be good? The problem is that when we lost that money, our first instinct is to try to get it back and recoup our losses that's why we went and go deposit again and again until it's too late that we lost all our money. And the next time, we said to ourselves that we will try to control our emotions and yet we still fall for that trick of depositing again after a lost, unless you really are very lucky that day and recovering or at least on the positive side. So it's very very hard indeed to manage our greed. Actually there are players who already won but when greed sets it, they can't just get out of that cycle and wanted to play more.

Exactly, it is very difficult to escape from such wrong instincts, even though initially you have managed to get a win but surely the assumption will come out that "I have to continue playing with a larger number of bets so that the winnings are also getting bigger", and after that your money including the results of the victory will run out, it usually happens when they have won. And then especially if you lose, as you said they will not accept the results and surely the first instinct that comes out is that they have to get their winnings again with a larger amount in order to cover the previous loss, then they will make another deposit with very high hopes and a little emotional feeling of revenge, but what happens? Well lose again, that's a fact that often happens and of course must be avoided because it is clearly very dangerous. The fact is that most people who end up addicted and end up with all the downturns start with problems like the ones I have said above.

I think it's just nonsense even though they initially said that they would make full control with some restrictions there, because of course it is very unlikely that they can do it when conditions are not good - okay. Cycles like this will continue to happen and only a small percentage can get out of a zone like this, so set the right mindset when you are new to gambling, don't be tempted by anything because it's just a trap, there is no certain victory but only defeat will continue to dominate.
People typically think they're resistant to gambling addiction until they're hooked. Though "I'll control myself" or "I won't let it get to me" is easy, our brains have a weird way of justifying our actions when we're losing. We say, "Just one more bet and I'll win it all back" or "This time, I've got a feeling it'll be different." But does it ever change?

Healthy gaming involves much self-awareness and discipline. Limit your gambling. Leave when you reach that limit. No doubts. Otherwise, you'll keep losing. Casinos and internet gambling sites are meant to hook you. Do you control yourself or do they?

Well that's how it goes for most things people get addicted to.  They always think they're fine until they're not.  I compare it to taking drugs, you always start off slow and it's fun and everything is fine until you spiral out of control and you tend to not even realize it along the way.  I feel for those whom are addicted, because for me it's never been an issues thankfully.

Everyone excited for this huge primetime game of my Chicago Bears versus the Washington Commanders  Cheesy.  I mean talk about a snooze fest.  The only reason it's kind of exciting for me is because at this point I'm rooting hardcore for losses, that way we've got a chance at Caleb Williams next year.  If the season ended today, the Bears would have both the #1 and #2 picks (we got Carolinas #1 pick for next year in the trade for this past years #1 pick).

I shall gamble on the game though to make it more fun.  Not sure how yet though.
857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I choose Bitcoin on: October 04, 2023, 05:27:17 PM
Yesterday my partner came up with an idea to deposit a good some of money in a fixed deposit account on an online banking platform offering a 13% interest rate, they offered to pay the interest upfront but the initial deposite would be locked in till the exact stipulated time. Though this may sound like a good deal I discouraged him from making this investment for the following reasons.
Firstly with the rate at which the traditional currency in my country is steadily loosing value and the proposed profit and initial deposit might just be valueless at the matured time this deal might be of little or no value.
Secondly these platforms in my opinion cannot be trusted as different reasons can lead to their folding up and shutting down. I understand that life's a risk but some risks are not worth taking.
On the other hand I offered a solution. I asked him to invest in Bitcoin, now even though the price of bitcoin is volatile, in my opinion it is still more profitable to invest in Bitcoin especially for long term investment than in any fixed deposit scheme.
If you were in the position to give financial advice to someone looking for a long term financial investment, what would you advice?...

Well as a financial advisor myself, I would have handled this very differently.  First off, I can't imagine anyone issuing something right now that promises a 13% gain.  What kind of product was this, and what country?  Also how long were the terms for this 13%?  Looking at say CD's, bonds, annuities etc, there is absolutely nothing out there guaranteeing 13% for any length of time.  Now there are some products that might be this high, for instance something like an Equity Linked Noted...but the note coupon can lose money if you fall under the "barrier", as well as they can "call" the note which cancels it and they pay your principle back.

Recommending someone put money in bitcoin versus what he was looking at is probably two very different things. For any proper advice give, you need to know the persons enitre financial situation.
858  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Digital Yuan Hardware Wallets on: October 04, 2023, 05:21:24 PM
I appreciate all the engagement here with this.  Again, I know the digital yuan is technically not a real cryptocurrency because it's centralized like a mofo, of course the Chinese government is about as bad as it gets when in comes to this type of stuff..but I thought it was an interesting look in to how their "crypto coin" works and what wallets they are using.

I fear that I'll never be able to acquire one of these things since they seem to all be bank issues/containing name etc.  But who knows.
859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: October 04, 2023, 05:16:55 PM
To be honest I can't remember if I went to a physical casino or if I had placed a bet online.  I know the first bet I ever made on sports (professionally that is, not like a bet with a friend or family member) was on Bovada, which I stupidly still use today (calvin ayres and Craig Wright have a connection somehow I believe).  But I remember using a credit card to fund the $100 bet on a super bowl game.  I lost lol.
860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 04, 2023, 05:14:10 PM

What's wrong with Butler? If I'm not mistaken, he's had a normal style throughout his NBA career, especially when he was with the Bulls. But in recent seasons, there's something wrong with him because he's been dramatically experimenting with changing his hairstyle. Is it because of the losses in the finals series?
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Butler looked like Cousin Itt from the Addams Family next season. Grin

I believe he is doing it now like a tradition since last year is hilarious and everybody loves his shot. I was skeptical at first seeing his picture on the leaderboard stats last year which I thought there’s just a mistake now it confirms that he is just trolling his photo shoot.

This might be his tradition now just like Westbrook before which showing off during his weird sense of fashion. I thought he is from the my chemical romance the first time I saw his pics on social media without reading the caption.  Cheesy

Whatever his intention, he succeeded in gaining the attention of the fans because of his hairstyle, reminiscent of Rihanna's. Anyway, that media day is good as it gives us a thrill and a feeling that the NBA will be back soon. The Heat did not make significant changes to their lineup; they'll remain underrated, but this team is still one to watch.

Of course, we were excited about the moves of the Bucks, as Lillard was supposed to be going to the Heat, yet it didn't happen. Also, regarding Boston, they made a major move by adding two star players to the roster, namely Holiday and Porzingis, so let's see how their chemistry will blend.

I really do not have any idea how people are making weird things look cool or acceptable. Some things are just not acceptable across the board. Just like a white person saying the N word is not going to be accepted around the world anywhere, some fashions are just not acceptable by people in the whole world. If a man wears a dress, and says he's a woman, it is not going to be acceptable in any logic based society.

I feel like I am going off track. Anyway, this was definitely weird to see. But as you said, this might actually be something which players do to Collab with some fashion brands and also increase the popularity of both the brand and themselves. But they definitely end up doing some stupid things like this.

I mean, it isn’t like he was cross dressing. He was just dressed in an emo style which he repeatedly had to say to the media. It’s an obvious joke and after the popularity of his dreadlock extensions last year you had to know this was coming. I’m sure this will be a staple in his career going forward as everyone seems to enjoy it.

Honestly, I don't think he's joking.  Jimmy Butler was of course on the Chicago Bulls when he was drafted, so being a Bulls fan of course I got to know the guy a bit...he's an odd ball no question about it.  He had a bit of an attitude problem and was just always sort of "different".

That being said my god thats an awful haircut lol
