I have nothing to brag about, but I read the thread with interest and even found something new (I did not think that so many people suffered from automatic betting). I can say that I have friends who have suffered from a betting strategy called the chase. We can say that this is a martingale, but it works a little differently - you choose a team (as you know, any team sometimes wins and sometimes loses even if it is an outsider or leader) and bet on its victory or defeat. If the bet did not win, then we bet on the same result in the next match (increasing it as necessary), etc. Obviously, here you can suffer both from a long unsuccessful series and from a psychologically exhausting expectation of a result that can last for months.
8442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 15, 2022, 09:29:12 PM
Milan today took a very big step towards the championship, beating Atalanta was very important and they did it. Now it remains only to beat Sassuolo to become champions, because even a draw may not be enough, if Inter beat Sampdoria, then there will be an equal number of points, and the goal difference between Inter will be better. Milan just needs to win, everything is in their hands!

In this thread, it is mentioned on every page that Milan now only needs to score one point. Goal difference does not matter because there is another more important additional parameter - the results of head-to-head matches where Milan has an advantage. Such is the regulation of the championship, so we can say that Milan is almost a champion.

Transfer rumours:

Incoming Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is targeting France and Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante, 31, as he looks to start an overhaul at Old Trafford. It seems that there will be a lot of changes in the Manchester United team again. Players and coaches change every year but results are lacking. Will anything change next season?
~

This is a good player but a strange transfer - it was previously stated that Eric Ten Hag will carry out a major renew of the team. What then is the point of acquiring a 31-year-old player? After 2 years, everyone will start saying that he is already old  Grin As a United fan, this kind of news scares me a little. This is very similar to the leapfrog that has been in the club lately, but the results have not changed in any way.

Although I have never gambled in my life. The real gambling I must say because it is prohibited in our religion and we are taught from day 1 not to gamblor.
But when I see these high rollers - my heart skips a beat - and I wonder how much money they have in the real life? I am a middle class who work very hard and live paycheck to paycheck. But look at these high rolls! WOW

It is hard to believe  Grin I looked at the history of your messages - most of them belong to the Gambling section  Wink Is it a purely theoretical interest or just fulfilling the requirements for a signature campaign?
As I already wrote, there are more than 50 million millionaires in the world. It is not surprising that some of them spend huge sums on gambling.

I still cannot understand how Leipzig didn't win against Arminia Bielefeld today. At the end of the day, although Leipzig finished the league in 4th place and qualified for the champions league, they do not give me any hope for the next year. I think the technical director may need to change.

If you are talking about hopes for a good result in the Champions League, then I don’t remember when any team other than Bayern showed something good there. If you're talking about competing for the title in the Bundesliga then even more so  Grin Unfortunately, the Bundesliga is not progressing, but rather lagging behind other top leagues.
8446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 15, 2022, 06:00:09 PM
In the last nine games, Atalanta won only two times and achieved 3 draws, which speaks of the problems accumulated by the end of the season. Now it will have maximum motivation, as there is a huge probability of being kicked out of the euro cup zone, but Milan's motivation is also beyond doubt, plus Milan has the advantage of the home team. I think Milan should win here even though a draw would also be a good result for them.
I personally don't care that Milan won because Inter got an easier opponent, it still won't keep Milan safe until the end. Although Milan currently has a points gap with Inter, but if in this match Milan get a draw and Inter win and make their points equal on 81 points, then Inter will still take over the top position because they are superior in number of goals. Therefore, I personally don't care about the winning result that Milan might get in this Match, because in reality Inter will still have a chance to be able to take over the top position.

You are wrong. In case of equal points in the Italian championship, the first additional indicator taken into account is the results of the games between the teams. Milan have the advantage here, so they will be champions if the points are equal.

Milan 2 - 0 Atalanta

In any case, I think that Milan can already be congratulated on the championship. In the last game with a clear outsider, they only need to score one point.
8447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: May 15, 2022, 05:52:54 PM
Messi scored 2 goals for PSG's 0-4 win from Montpellier. This is Messi's 6th goal of the season for PSG, especially in the league, while Messi has also provided 13 assists throughout the season. The golden boot may go to Mbappe with his 26 goals so far, he is 2 goals ahead of Ben Yedder who has scored 24 goals but maybe that could still change as there is one match left for the league this season.
~

Interestingly enough, while Mbappe has had a phenomenal season (at least compared to the rest of the PSG players), his goalscoring record is not all that great. The Golden Boot will go to Lewandowski, which is quite unusual since in most cases in recent years this trophy has gone to Spain. And Germany is perhaps one of the rarest winners of this prize.

Xavi was a very smart football player and I see now he is a very smart manager. It couldn't have been easy to rally Barcelona, they did it. How did Barcelona get to second place in the league? It happened because Xavi motivated the players with his smart strategies. Now in the summer, I'm sure he will find the best players and put them in the Barcelona jersey.

There is an opinion that the Tiki Taka strategy is outdated and of course it has a certain result, but not above a certain level - roughly speaking, in modern football you cannot claim titles using this strategy. In addition to the coaching problem, Barcelona still have financial problems - I have not heard any news that would say that they were able to somehow settle their huge debt.
Xavi Hernandez as smart manager? Early claimed with Xavi as smart manager without any trophy yet for his season debut with Barcelona. Actually no doubt with Barcelona financial trough he arrived firt time but with many player transfer on January window transfer I think Barcelona should have leaat one trophy as Europe League. But keep smart manager with tiki taka philosophy have old and easy defeated by other team. Maybe if your words true about Xavi as smart manager need waiting with next season how far achievement Barcelona.

It seems that you did not respond to my message, but to the message of my interlocutor  Roll Eyes
By the way, I don't know if Xavi is smart or not (it is quite possible that he is smart), but the fact is that he does not have an objective picture of the world - his entire career (golden time) fell on the triumph of Tiki Taka. After such a life experience, it is naive to believe that he will be able to objectively assess the possibilities of this strategy in modern football.
8449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2021/2022 on: May 15, 2022, 05:37:13 PM
Actually this tensed with each other so strongly that no goals occurred until the penalty was decisive for the victory, but indeed Liverpool were too strong so they felt one trophy and then the trophy that was waiting for the champions league which was possible in front of their eyes.

This season Chelsea failed not to get any trophies even though finishing in 3 standings only entered the UCL ticket, well Tuchel's target now is not getting anything.

Liverpool celebrate the win, I miscalculated the bet.

By the way, if we talk about betting, then I think most of the bettors were destroyed by this game. BTTS, total over, Liverpool win in regular time, etc. these obvious bets were made by the majority, but in the end they all lost. Of course there were lucky ones who believed that Chelsea could hold a draw in regular time, but I don't think there were that many, in general, the bookmakers obviously won in this game.

I read in the media that m.salah got injury, correct?
This is a nightmare for Liverpool, we know the salah role is very influential in front of Liverpool. I'm waiting for the truth and hope it's not too serious, because I want to see him appear in the final of the champions league this season.

Judging by the latest news, Salah will be able to take part in the final, but in any case, even if he did not play, Liverpool would not be an easy opponent for Real Madrid. Liverpool are very strong even without Salah as we saw when he left for the Africa Cup of Nations and Liverpool won all the games without problems even without him.

West Ham United 2-2 Manchester City
The match will end, the score is still 2-2 draw. Penalties should be a golden opportunity for Manchester City to win this match. But unfortunately, Ryan Mahrez failed to make Manchester City party. Is it possible that Manchester City wants a party at Etihad Stadium?

An unexpected result (especially the way the events in the game developed), and now Liverpool received a ghostly hope for a miracle. But I would say that now it will work more against them - they have no real chances, and the thought of a match of their competitor on which the championship depends will psychologically exhaust them.

As long as we regard loot box buyers as healthy adults who decide how they spend their money, loot boxes are completely ethical. Is not it? I know people who spent about three monthly salaries on games (on a mobile phone) (I say this to understand the scale, since prices are different in different countries) and this was without any loot boxes. I think if they are happy with the purchase, then why not? It is their right to make such spending and the right of developers to come up with different ways to monetize.
Dont know on why people do really love to blame up things which the things had been happening can really be blamed towards their actions. If they do really spend up their money on that way then its not really

our business but there are really people who are really that mindful towards other actions and things that had been done without even trying to realize that its their god damn right on how
they would really be using their money. Its none of our business if they would really be messing out their lives because of it.

I like this variation the most: The buyer is happy with the purchase, but some outside clown insists that the purchase is bad and the buyer has suffered  Grin I wonder where these people come from who know better than other people what is good and bad for them and "how to live"? It looks like a real mental disorder.
8453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2021/2022 on: May 14, 2022, 07:41:55 PM
It was such an amazing rivalry between Chelsea and Liverpool that I totally enjoyed it. I would be happier if we saw some goals in regular time too but at least the penalties were just great. Liverpool hardly managed to get the title by defeating Chelsea 6-5 in total. It is a deserved title too I think because Liverpool have been the better playing side most of the time in the game. Chelsea tried to achieve the title by penalties but they failed. I still appreciate the efforts of both of them of course.

Despite the actual result - a goalless draw and a penalty shoot-out, one cannot say that it was a boring final. The only thing that upset me was this extra time - it seemed that the teams went out to wait 30 minutes for a penalty shootout and did not really try.
Now I can congratulate Liverpool - this expectation brought victory to them, and sympathize with Chelsea.

Several times I get information from the facebook homepage which sometimes appears, the information I get is about the new format changes that will be implemented in the 2024/2025 season, and it looks like this is official from UEFA which previously I thought was just a hoax or something like that. The first change is about increasing the number of contestants, from 32 to 36 and for the second change is not using the group stage. But they're going to have a competition format or something like what might be called a mini league or something like that, I haven't looked further either. Regarding this, I personally just hope that whatever format is used, at least the competition to enter the Champions League does not make it easy, because if it is made easy, the competition for Champions League tickets will no longer be competitive and exciting.

If the number of teams participating in the Champions League has increased, but the number of countries in the UEFA zone has not, then do you think it has become easier to get into the Champions League or not?  Roll Eyes I think the answer is obvious.
In my opinion, the new format is complete bullshit that is made for only one thing: to ensure that all top clubs get into the playoffs, protecting them from lucky outsiders. And this was done for one reason: the fight against the Super League.

With a high degree of probability, we can assume that if Arsenal win against Newcastle, they will take 4th place. It's funny that the quotation for the victory of Arsenal practically coincides with the quotation for the 4th place - 1.85. But still, it is more profitable to bet on wins than on the final place - a multibet from two matches will give a much better odds.

The problem at Arsenal is not huge, but then it is massive; Arteta would rather play 3 individuals who were not a CB in the back 3 against Spurs ousting and disregarding Ben White who cost 50M. With Holding missing a tie, Gabriel injured; Would Arteta repeat the same? Newcastle United are a different team; difficult to crack down, Would Arsenal find it easy? i guess not. I am rooting Newcastle United for a win/draw. Arsenal cannot win this tie

I think Arsenal is a very uncomfortable opponent for Newcastle, most likely they just torture them with ball control. I think Arsenal will win, but the main reason for the victory will be simple - a motivated team will beat a less motivated team. Yes, all the considerations about the instability of Arsenal are valid, but Newcastle is also not as phenomenal as it was immediately after the transfers.
8456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever thought of doing your thesis on Gambling ? on: May 14, 2022, 07:22:20 PM
Doing a thesis in gambling to find out that loot boxes are unethical?  Cheesy I think every sane person would agree with that. I encountered many times of loot boxes in online games and none of them were worth their money. Back in the days you would pay 50$ for a game and that be it, you had a full game and didn't need anything else. Maybe after 1-2 years there would be an add on coming out but that is it, no need to spend anymore money. In todays world there are so many alternative pricing methods which is really sad. I know guys who justify spending 500-1000 USD in a single game per year to get some different cosmetics and skins. All of them are hidden behind loot boxes with a drop chance of 1-5%. You need to buy so many of those boxes to get what u actually want it's really sad. And the addiction behind is more OCD than gambling addiction because its about to get all the rare things in a game. It's like being a perfectionist for skins in a computer game.

8457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: WE NEED A HALL OF FAME? on: May 14, 2022, 07:16:20 PM
I agree with you - regular successes are much more interesting than random one-time big wins. And studying those who are successful in this way is very interesting. But I must note that the regularity of success does not guarantee that this is a pattern and not luck. Roughly speaking, if a billion people constantly flip a coin and guess the result, then there will be someone who guesses, for example, 75% of the time. But this will not say that he is an expert, since his success will only be a fluctuation resulting from a huge number of attempts.

I think that you have to consider games where skill must be taken into account.
excluding "flip a coin" or any game related "lucky" .... but take sports betting as an example ... or
texas holdem poker.
you are more or less sure that an "expert" player is better than a novice!
in the past there was the "direct bet" hall of fame. if you see people there (top tipsters), no one was "a coincidence" and in each competition they was able to get some prizes...

You're right. But this certainty is very far from 100%, since there is always a factor of chance. By the way, let's take such an example - poker and, for example, Starcraft (I will talk about the first part because I am not aware of the gameplay in the second). Bookmakers have always been easy to accept bets on StarCraft games and have never had a problem placing quotes. But this seems to be strange because if a low-level player goes all-in or a blind counter-build, then he defeats a stronger player. But on average, the stronger player always wins. In poker, I don't remember bookmakers taking bets on a champion against a rookie in tournaments - they were quoted pretty much the same. Strange, isn't it? It turns out that the bookmakers believed that the success of a poker player is completely random.

15 minutes to go, and still 0:0, was this the easiest draw that one can think off?
it seemed as goalless draw, and penalties for decider, and it looks that way still

in League cup final was the same, and Liverpool won after prolonged penal series, is this Chelsea turn on penalty win

If teams miss opportunities like Chelsea did at the beginning of the second half and Liverpool towards the end then I wouldn't be surprised by a penalty shootout. But I think that the teams are already seriously tired and now in 30 minutes of extra time someone will make a mistake. At the moment Liverpool look much closer to scoring a goal.

Reason for Rennes' optimism may be that Marseille will not be highly motivated to win the away game, but on the other hand, although Marseille's position in second place is quite solid, they need to score at least 2 points to protect themselves from an attack from Nice. Now I think that this game will end in a draw. This would be the most logical result.

BTTS may be just the right bet to make -- Rennes scoring every game since April, but I'd probably bet on the losing team live, as soon as first goal is scored --  outright if an early goal, handicap or double chance if second half.

Impossible to choose, my form brain normally picks Marseille in this case (and biting back from the Feyenoord-induced exit) but then also says time for Rennes to do something special.

Yes, I thought about this option and strangely the odds are pretty good 1.7 for BTTS (not 1.5 as it could be). But I also doubt the choice and rather I have a desire to make a riskier bet (or two) on the exact score: 1-1 odds 7.2; 2-2 odds 13.
By the way, speaking of correct score bets, I would like to know if there is a way to calculate the bookmaker's margin in this case?
