Does anyone know the link to where to get the wallet as I was going with: https://dnotescoin.com/

Unless there's a difference between Dnote and Dnotes (i assumed they were the same).

That's the right site, so i think that there might be some problem on poloniex's (or OP's side).
Im not that familiar with the coin at all, so maybe grab some address from cryptopia for example and withdraw from there to your own wallet or something, or try generating a new address?

OP, can you send me a deposit address from poloniex for reference?

I got three so far.

i was able to withdraw my dnotes from poloniex to cyptopia.co.nz

maybe you could create an address there?

Could you try sending to my addresses from there and see if that works?
8442  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Login Captcha on: April 03, 2018, 05:02:36 PM
Since no thread was created here with the same problem, maybe the problem is on my side so I need some opinion/s regarding this. (Will locked the thread after getting enough response).

I think less than 2 hours ago (around 2-3pm forum time), Im having a difficulty breaching the login captcha although the inputs was correct. It most occurs on the PICK ALL IMAGES option (damn that traffic signs lol). There is also a problem on the option of SELECTING ALL IMAGES UNTIL NO ONE SHOWS because the image is so slow when reloading. I think I managed to get in after 15 tries.

Internet connection = Fine
Cleaning browser data = Done

Are you using a VPN or going from your own ISP?

If it's from your own ISP, you might want to request a new IP address from them as your old one might have been blacklisted or something that causes the issue.
Also, what's your internet speed (on speedtest.net). Usually if it's about 5mb/s download, you'll have an issue with the captcha going slowly.
8443  Other / Meta / Re: Are you ready for 2,000,000? on: April 03, 2018, 04:05:15 PM
So why would the numbers be so much different?

It looks like I misread the data on Vod's site.

Sorry, I just worked that out. The site user stats have been disabled since December when we were having the DDoS attacks and those numbers are frozen in time. http://dev.martinlawrence.ca/bpip/ is the place for live data.

You appear to have also misread my point.

The data on UID's is different than the data on this forum's stats page: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats

Why is that number lower than 2000000?

Because that stats page stopped updating in December.

That's just wrong.

The latest user is currently at uid=2001067 from that page.

hi again! I withdrew my dnotes from poloniex but their system told me that your address is invalid. will it be okay if i just give you access to my poloniex? that's where my dnotes are.

You could probably give him access temporarily to enter his address or somehow transfer the Dnotes to his address or account but the account is worthless. A little social engineering can recover them easily.

I'm giving him access to withdraw my Dnotes or he can just provide a new address for me to send to.

Why do we have fewer users than UIDs? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats
Whenever someone's nuked/permabanned, does their deletion reduce the number of uids as I thought they just remained but were blocked on here?

Congrats to number 2000000, we've had 484 signups since then also (100 users per hour)!

Accounts are never deleted so that 2 mil is every signup including banned and nuked accounts. The nuked ones are all the ones with 0 posts however old they are.

8448  Other / Meta / Re: Are you ready for 2,000,000? on: April 03, 2018, 01:22:29 PM
Sometime within the next 24 hours, the forum will generate the user id of 2,000,000.  Smiley

It would be nice to see a prize, but that would result in about 10,000 signups in a minute.  lol

Congrats Theymos and Bitcointalk!

Requesting some urgent loan. Badly needed. Can pay in a month. I have a work in my school. I'm a working student.

Term: 1 month to pay, 10% interest.

Amount: $120-150 (0.017 - 0.021 btc at the time of request)

If you need collateral, i can offer:

-Altcoin (2047 pieces DNotes)
-My Office.com student account. Office365 subscription valid until 2021.(I'll let you change the password for the time being, post a scam accusation if i attempt to recover it)
-My student gmail account
-I can add my bitcointalk account (this account) if you really need enough collateral

Can you send the DNotes to this address: SZCQxRgXzaAuxejcjMiGETz7iSJb2PbeiS

Address is above ^

As I'm only giving you this loan to help with your situation, if we get to 31 days (or however long you want the term to be) and you don't have enough to pay the interest, that can be dismissed if extremely necessary - new terms can also be negotiated.

8451  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet not showing funds on: April 03, 2018, 12:16:26 AM
Does the address you have sent the funds to appear in electrum (receive- or address tab?) ?
Yes, the address I sent my BTC to is in the Electrum application, and the receiving address was inside of the receiving tab, right where it says: "Receiving address:"

I guess you missed it:

Yep totally missed it (not used to a Mac) but then found it. I did an ismine("address") in the command line and it said true for the address I copied from electrum. I'm 99.9999% sure I used the right address. I checked it multiple times and had my wife check it forwards and backwards.

Can you clarify if where did you download the electrum wallet and put the bitcoin address you use for receiving bitcoin from bitcoin core here, so that we can find what actually the reason for not showing transaction in your electrum history and let me know if what version of electrum wallet you use?

I downloaded Electrum from https://electrum.org/#download.

Has it still not come through?

If not, could you use a separate computer and try to restore the wallet from its seed.
You could also get the raw tx info and import that into electrum by going to tools -> load transaction and then use one of the options. Load from blockchain allows you to put the tx in there and the client will pull the relevant info from the blocks. From text allows you to import it from the raw transaction hash.

There used to be a bug in electrum that was supposedly fixed that included this (it was in the transition from python 2 to 3) but there might still be issues related to that bug that might have appeared. You might want to open a bug report on this though it might be difficult to isolate this new bug.

Theymos does/did.
Other major members here will know who he is (some of the orignial devlopers like Andreas Schildbach).

Dude, I think you're from another planet. You take my statements too seriously, but you hardly know who is Satoshi

You seem alien-like that a forum called Bitcointalk.org would think of having a separate currency other than the currency it was made for.
Anyway, the only thing you know for certain is that YOU don't know who Satoshi is.

What if someone else with malicious intents increases difficulty for your nickname, intentionally making wrong attempts ? Ooops,  and in order to login you need to do  a couple of giga-hashes.  Or, if you wish, we can do it for you, for a small amount of ether... See how it works?

Again: users should be able to choose captcha as alternative to POW. They could do this in such cases.

That doesn't fix the issue though. They're then still going to have to use the captcha?
What if, at some point, the user who was using 50000 IP addresses returns to try to bruteforce the forum again and attack everyone's user accounts and makes it extremely difficult for everyone to log-in without the captcha. Also, it'd use a lot of unnecessary CPU power to try to mine it - especially if they don't know how long they'd have to wait first.
8454  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet not showing funds on: April 02, 2018, 08:09:21 PM
2. Make sure any firewall on your Mac don't block Electrum.
If that green circle appears which means it is completely sync with the network which means theres no firewall blocking electrum.
I have same question too if the address being used to sent out funds is listed on view addresses tab.If not then he input the wrong address.
Yes, it would be stuck on "syncronising"... or "not connected" otherwise.

There are 2 possibilities maybe you put a wrong bitcoin address or you use a fake electrum wallet.
I wast aware with that fake electrum wallet,if theres one then it might be a reason but the thing always comes to my mind which this would be an error in inputting the address because its very impossible for those funds not to be credited or doesnt show on the entire history of transactions in electrum.
There are fake versions of every piece of software if it's widespread and lucrative enough to do.

@OP, can you hash the installer and check it with the has from electrum.org and the github repository?

I recently decided to upgrade computers and sent BTC from my old BTC Core to an Electrum wallet on the new machine. I confirmed the address about seven times, twice with a second person.

Were you speaking it to them or were they just referencing the two? IF it was the first, then if you put a capital instead of a lower case for example, that'd throw off the send. It wouldn't throw it off by too much though as there last 7 digits of the address for bech32 for example are a checksum so the transaction should hopefully run into an error. EDIT: I tested this and it does produce an error when the checksum fails with an "Invalid Lines Found" error.

Shame there's no option to keep the scores for that (it'd be an interesting thing to track).
We could really do with it reinstating quite sad when I came to the forum this morning to see only "activity"/"merit"/"posts" and not all of them. a nice datadump of the information monthly would be appreciated at least sir Theymos plese.

Yes PLEASE SIR theymos PLEAAAAAAASE accept SIR bill gator prayers (at least for politeness with a timer reseted every period PLEASE) Roll Eyes
(ok half serious since all the posts will start with dear SIR X, PLEASE... Regards SIR Tongue )

The bold wouldn't be recognised by theymos' system... Sad.

Not to sound condescending, but it was somewhat obvious that the stats were related to April fools, and very entertaining seeing some of the replies here.

- Politeness was how many times you used "please", "sir", "pardon", "apprecia*", "may I", "thanks", and "thank you" in past posts. This is poking a bit of fun at the people who are unnecessarily polite like this.
Why poke fun at politeness?  The world would be better off with more of it.

This was because lots of people here had an issue with mainly eastern people being taught to say "sir" and use politeness when talking to people above them. I sort of get why they have an issue with it but didn't seem there to be much of a problem, if someone wants to call me "sir" then they can do it, my response isn't going to be much different. Though theymos made a few replies to that discussion connoting how funny it was when he gets messages that start that way from many people.
8457  Other / Meta / Re: Implement proof-of-work CPU altcoin mining instead of CAPTCHA on: April 02, 2018, 04:16:05 PM
1. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3240247.0 - Don't make multiple threads with the same issue.

2. That idea's bad. What if I want to log in on my phone? 1 minute of CPU mining on a good computer is about 10-60 on a good phone.

Also, you'd just get people putting more cpu power behind these attacks. AND, you get that ddos isn't don't by pepole logging in right? It's just a large amount of network traffic, they're not all trying to login.

If you're gonig to try to get everyone's login data, that is mainly something that is done offline (obviously not going into specifics).
8458  Other / Meta / Re: new forum coin on: April 02, 2018, 04:02:30 PM
I'm not kidding I know that this type of currency will be better

You do not even know who is Satoshi . Although there are a lot of hints who it is
And what is possible to talk about crypto currency if you do not notice the obvious things

Theymos does/did.
Other major members here will know who he is (some of the orignial devlopers like Andreas Schildbach).

And we are bitcointalk. If you want a forum with a currency, go make one, it might die quickly but you've still given it a shot anyway.

Also, we don't need to know who satoshi is, Bitcoin is developed by a team of people now it isn't just one person on their own (a good place to start in finding this information you don't know is probably either the bitcoin wiki or github). Even though Satoshi is the original developer and miner of the currency, doesn't mean other people haven't been involved in its development.
8459  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet not showing funds on: April 02, 2018, 12:28:46 PM
I don't see anything in the History tab and the Receive tab has the status as pending for those requested funds.
I don't see any drop down to access the "console" - there are only 3 tabs, History, Send and Receive. in the Right lower corner there are four icons. Network (I'm connected to three nodes.) Seed (where I can enter my password to review my seed info) Preferences (I don't understand most of this) and Password (where I can change my password.)

Click "View" (at the top) and then "Show Console".

I'm not sure what you mean by a "seed"/"password" - is this under the "wallet" section? Could you take a screenshot of your electrum window.

Also, could you take a screenshot of the address the money should be in and either post it here or send it to me via PM, along with the TXid/address in text so I can check it has been fully confirmed and that's not the issue.

Also try connecting to other servers from the "network" panel (though, to me, all the servers seem to be in sync correctly).

I am still curious about the "April fool's joke" thing. Can anyone please give me some useful links for clarifications. I am a newbie. Thank you in advanced.

Here you go http://bfy.tw/4ywc

Yes, april fools is just something (some of us) do in the west to have a world wide day of trickery.

I have to say, I didn't get this at first (too focused on Easter).

Yesterday not less than 172 sMerit was received by the forum administrator TheyMos for the newly introduced system which later turn out to be April Fools. Can one conclude that sMerit sent was a waits?
That is really so. 172 sMerits that's exactly how much I nedd to rank up to Sr.member and he got it for a joke. A little bit not fair. Can we count this case as merit abusing one and report on theymos? Haha Tongue

They're meriting the april fools joke. It must've took a lot of effort to pull off (think about it) scores for everyone had to be generated from an algorithm which would've taken a lot of coding for just a day's worth of a joke.
I think people should get a personal rule of not meriting a post that has already been merited more than twice (I do that - or attempt to).
