8481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wording of Nasdaq article about mining bitcoins on: January 24, 2017, 06:25:25 AM
You make a legitimate point, but I would say that complicated math problems is fundamentally inaccurate and thus unhelpful. I would have just written hash function and left it to readers to either Google the phrase or accept it at face value. Thus,

"The process of validating transactions and committing them to the blockchain involves repeatedly running a hash function . . . Each Bitcoin miner is competing with all the other miners on the network to be the first one to hash the outstanding transactions into a format acceptable to the bitcoin network."

95% of the people won`t understand the meaning of both "specialized math problems" and "hash function".
I`m not very good at mathematics and programming and i still don`t understand, but i use bitcoin. Smiley
Why do you care about this?
8482  Economy / Speculation / Re: TRUMP - DOLLAR on: January 23, 2017, 12:46:34 PM
Dollar is going down again..

Is this positive for bitcoin price?

MOON ?

Maybe this has something to do with all the Anti-Trump protests in the USA. Grin
I think that the US dollar has less influence over the bitcoin price, compared with the past few years.
8483  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Project] 5 minute bitcoin faucet like moon bitcoin on: January 23, 2017, 12:41:17 PM
I'd like to make a bitcoin faucet that's based on moon bitcoin (or similar) system (5 minutes and up to claim satoshi).

I want it to look like a game or like a cloud miner, but it's still a simple faucet (with upgrades to claim more).

Is there a free script (like moon bitcoin) that I can start with or is there some programmer who would like to work with me?

It's not supposed to be a scam/ponzi site! There is no deposit, only faucet claims.

My skills:
- webdesign (html5, css3)
- basic php knowledge
- basic mysql knowledge

You want a partner who will do the programming work for free or you want to hire a programmer?
You really need to make your faucet different from all the other faucets.I don`t think a free script will do the work.
8484  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Way to Sell Bitcoin in My Situation? on: January 23, 2017, 06:59:49 AM
In America is it not possible to sell bitcoin locally? As localbitcoin provides option for your question. Another way I think it is possible is to convert your bitcoin to PayPal and PayPal to credit your account using bank transfer. Though PayPal will require many documents and verification of your USA address before doing any transfer of the amount you talking about.

The guy lives outside USA.He can`t trade locally.
It`s too risky to sell such large amount of bitcoins with ANY payment method.
I don`t think that there is a satisfying solution for your problem.
8485  Economy / Speculation / Re: Safe to say Bitcoin "probably" won't go lower than $600-$700 on: January 23, 2017, 06:52:32 AM
What do you mean by "probably" with quotes?
What kind of statement is this?I can say that bitcoin "probably" won`t go higher than $1000 and i`ll be right...
"probably".
You can`t predict this.
8486  Economy / Speculation / Re: where are all those who were calling $500 bottom? on: January 22, 2017, 01:35:10 PM
i have always said that it is not easy to predict bitcoin price, and future is not clear. but some things are just dumb.

for example saying that price will go to $10,000 in a couple of months to a year just because there was a rise.

the same thing goes for saying price will fall down to $500 just because a price correction happened after a fast rise to $1160
now that a couple of weeks passed with price above $800 and entering $900 range now, all those users saying things like "Crash", "since there was a drop it will drop more", "$500, $400, back to $200" have disappeared, waiting for another tiny drop to come out and start saying the same stuff again!

There are people who want to spread panic only for the purpose of buying cheaper bitcoins.
What they do is  malicious for the btc community, because it scares a lot of newbies who are too afraid to start trading bitcoins.
8487  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTCC To Start Charging Trading Tees on Its CNY Exchange on: January 22, 2017, 01:21:02 PM
BTCChina, our CNY exchange, will start charging fees for bitcoin and litecoin trading from 12:00 p.m. (noon) UTC+8 on Tuesday, January 24th. Market makers and takers will both be charged a flat fee of 0.2 percent per transaction. We are implementing fee-based trading to curb market manipulation and extreme volatility. Please contact us at support@btcc.com if you have any questions.

This will work only if all the exchange platforms accept this "trading fee" business model.
The "market makers and takers" might run away and just use another exchange platform that doesn`t charge transaction fees.
8488  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: For experienced trader, what's the things you wish you knew when you started? on: January 22, 2017, 07:30:05 AM
To be a successful traders both in commodities, forex, bitcoin or cryptocurrencies generally you most developed your skills and knowledge in the following keys areas:
1. You must know that trading has a mind on its own therefore, you most know the principle of money management in trading. I did not take this into consideration from beginning.
2. Buying when others are buying, selling when others are selling. This a very big secret in trading.
3. Never abandon your strategies because of loses.
4. Don't increases lots size because you are losing.

I can`t agree with rule number 2.You have to stand out from the crowd.Buy when the others are selling(because ussually this is panic selling) and sell when you feel the price is high.
The other rules are fine.
8489  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoins and islands on: January 22, 2017, 07:19:12 AM
Is it possible at all to think in this direction (to have an island where the only legal currency is bitcoin), and if consider it real, how to measure progress made by accepting new 'system'?  Undecided

What island? Some island without population or with 1000 people.
Bitcoin is a global currency,it`s pointless to make "countries" where btc is the only currency.
It`s not about territory,it`s about the number of people who will use bitcoin.
8490  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Survey for localbitcoins users and traders on: January 21, 2017, 01:11:28 PM
Dear bitcoin supporters,

We are in the process of developing a localbitcoins like service called Apercoin. Our focus and primary goal lies in customer satisfaction and quality of service, thus, it would be a tremendous help if you filled out our survey. It takes around two and half minutes to complete the survey for most people, yet it will be of significant value to us! If you want to receive more information about our project and early customer benefits, simply provide your email in the survey and we'll be happy to get in touch with you!

We kindly ask you to fill out the following survey if you have ever used localbitcoins services - User Survey.

If you do regular business on localbitcoins as a trader, please use - Trader Survey.

P.S. We do not work for localbitcoins nor are we in any way affiliated with them.

Regards,
Apercoin.

I`ve completed the User survey.Good luck with your project.
Localbitcoins is a very well established exchange. It will be very hard to compete with them.
If you provide better and faster customer support,i might use your service.
8491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is success for blockchain technology on: January 21, 2017, 01:01:33 PM
What factors will satisfy us that blockchain technology is on track for realizing its potential?

Because as of now we see very little in the way of commercial and user engagement...

I don`t really understand your question.
Are you talking about using the blockchain for something different than bitcoin transactions?
Check out the project development section of this forum, there are some projects with the blockchain involved.
8492  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Veriphant — A system for verifying and storing data on: January 21, 2017, 08:00:39 AM
So this is some kind of a Zippyshare,Dropbox,Google Drive alternative?
What makes this service better than all the above?
8493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pareto Principle and Bitcoin on: January 21, 2017, 07:43:42 AM
The Pareto Principle says that, for most cases, roughly 80% of the effects result from 20% of the factors. Nowadays, there are those who say that this ratio has changed from 90% to 10%. Does this rule apply to bitcoin?

So 80% of Bitcoin belongs to 20% of miners. Is this expression true to you?

The process of concentrating large amounts of bitcoin into the hands of a few people or a few companies is normal(unfortunately, and this might become a problem for bitcoin in the future).
It`s like the process of concentrating the capital into a few big corporations and killing the small competitors.
This is the nature of capitalism and bitcoin can`t be different.
8494  Economy / Economics / Re: US Debt at $19,959,943,400,000 will $20 trillion make the news? on: January 20, 2017, 01:16:26 PM

Have you guys been too www.usdebtclock.org recently? We are fastly approaching the the $20 Trillion in debt mark. 2 questions; will this information make the news and at what point does the dollar actually crash? Its been common knowledge that the dollar has lost 96% of its value since 1919 but what is it at right now 98% maybe 99% value gone? Just wanted to get your take.

please visit my blog bit-coin-expert.com

"I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world no longer a Government by free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men." -Woodrow Wilson

The US dollar is not a national currency. The US dollar is a world currency.
That`s why the US government debt is so big.The world wants to buy more and more USD.
The federal reserve system can print any amount without the risk of inflation and there is no need
for the US government to have a balanced budget.
8495  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there any possibility of a decrease in demand for Bitcoin? on: January 20, 2017, 01:05:22 PM
People think that Bitcoin will be valued more in the future. So they are both mining and buying bitcoin.

Is there any possibility of a decrease in demand for Bitcoin? Whatever happens, people give up using bitcoin.

If some altcoin becomes better than bitcoin, all the  people will stop using btc and move to the altcoin.
If most of the big countries like China and USA ban bitcoin, probably 90% of the btc users will stop using btc.
I don`t think that those posibilities will ever happen.
8496  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't fall for the chinese scammers trying to make you panic sell on: January 20, 2017, 06:51:10 AM
The chinese are using the PBOC as an excuse to crush the price and short and use all the panic sellers on their advantage.

How do we stop them and fuck them up? easy, don't panic sell when they release more PBOC messages. If they see that they can't manipulate the price with those PBOC messages,, they will try to stop shorting and they will start longing pushing the price up.

A few days ago when the btc price was $761, i sold around 0.0235 bitcoins on localbitcoins.
I sold them drvien by panic. My mistake.I can`t blame the chinese or PBOC.
Anyway, from now on, i will hold the bitcoins i get for more than a few months.
8497  Economy / Economics / Re: Are FIAT Currencies Facing an Extinction Level Event? on: January 20, 2017, 06:43:54 AM
The automobile obsoleted the horse and buggy as a means of daily transport. Email obsoleted the old snail mail system as a means of written correspondence.

Are fiat currencies at risk of being replaced by Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies? And if so, how soon?

The fiat money might be replaced by some personal bio data like fingerprints or technologies that scan the human eye.
Maybe the cryptosurrency developers will embrace such technologies too.
8498  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What king of faucet will be popular? on: January 19, 2017, 12:42:59 PM
Oke, as the title said, I'm trying to find a good idea about a faucet that will be popular
Now in my mind I have something like :
- Low minimum withdrawal
- Direct payment
- A game (Maybe Lottery or something like point for every claim that can be exchange for btc after reaching a certain amount)
- Easy to use
- Mobile support

Oke now, can you give me an advice or some other idea?
Thank you  Grin

I was thinking about a social sharing feature.Something like:"Share our faucet on Facebook and Twitter and get X amount of bitcoins."Instead of captcha solving.
But the social media sharing shouldn`t look spammy and this should be different than a refferal system.
This way you can get more traffic  and all the faucet users will promote the faucet.
8499  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Paxful on: January 19, 2017, 12:34:26 PM
Can you actually make a good living trading for btc? What is a good amount of btc to have to trade on paxful? I always buy and think to myself that it must be nice to sit back, make a trade, and make 17%

In order to make a living with btc trading you need to build a good reputation to stand out from the crowd.
All the people prefer to trade with someone with 1000+ trades and 100% positive feedback score, instead of trading with a newbie without any trading history.
8500  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Trolling on: January 19, 2017, 07:10:28 AM
it is quite fun to see big whales being trolling the leverage noob player..

As fast as it looks like there is a pump ahead, these fishes gamble enourmous amounts of Btc going long... It raises and once raised they put double the amount they put going long..

But that game locks by itself, there is always someone who put the long order before you and closes it.. Then dumps the price, if many do it at the same time: price tanks.

But what is funny is to see when all these fishes go complete crazy and sets 70%+ orders in long.. Then do you know what is only needed for you to lose? Whales across all exchanges (exchanges itself) see the situation  and say.. With a 10k Btc dump we get rid of all these buy orders and we get hundreds of bitcoins doing it.. Lets dump overnight and in some minutes so these degens wake up empty..  Cheesy

Its quite annoying to see these days noobs triying to get rich by using leverage on crypto rallies.. If you want to gamble go to a sportbook instead..

This happens in every market (stock market, crypto or whatever).
Are the big whales guilty because of the lack of good market information for the noobs?
I can`t answer.Can anybody answer?
