8501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ❤️ Stratis ❤️ BUY now less than $2.86/unit, oversold indicator set up on: October 15, 2017, 10:00:30 AM
Stratis is a great project with huge potential. Bring on the rocket
IMO stratis has no potential and is a clone of ethereum with pos added to it. At least, I haven't seen anything interesting in their whitepaper which mostly simply explains what blockchain, smart conrtacts and proof of stake is. Yet I am sure that the price of less than 3 dollars is good, because, as they have good marketing and a lot of people believe in this project for some reasons the price is likely to at least reach $6 thus providing a 2x profit which is awesome short-time. I guess I'll sell my NEO and buy stratis right now.
8502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: best ico coming... on: October 15, 2017, 09:50:39 AM
You better do some research before investing in ICO.
First thing first, whitepaper,it describe the bigger picture of its project, almost everything in it.
And then the team and everyone behind it. I can't recommend you any ICOs since it's risky.
So you better decide it for yourself.

There's been a lot of discussions about spotting a good ico and differentiating between good icos and scams. I think the main things to remember are as follows:
1. Website. It's important for ICO to have a website and it should look impressive.
2. White paper and team. You should read the paper and info about the team to find out whether the ico is potentially legit.
3. Number of participants in ICO. I think that the more people trusted the ICO and invested in it the less risk it is for you.
4. Where there other projects like this? Is the idea truly innovative?
5. Is the goal of this ICO at least potentially achievable?
8503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is IOTA's price still down? on: October 13, 2017, 09:07:08 AM
IOTAs price is hard to gauge because people get to know cryptocurrencies and learn about the technology and its potential by looking at blockchains... and then comes IOTA with a totally different approach and its tangle system, most people would prefer blockchain to succeed.
I get this argument, but isn't looking at currencies only if they have blockchains a big limitation? Why not to see something else, something completely different and yet working? Perhaps IOTA just has bad marketing. Maybe if they made nice videos on tangle technology people would've trusted this currency more.
IOTA was overpriced to me when I looken into it after theymos's post. I think correction is understandable. Also there are some ridiculous rumors about iota developers on forums I won't mention as I don't know if its true. That might create trust loss.
I don't know what you mean by those rumors, because I took a look at their dev team and saw that they hired a lot of new nice people in September and the team in general is rather experienced and seems totally legit and reliable to me.
I think it's not only IOTA not going up, it's all altcoins. And the reason is probably the upcoming bitcoin forks... people are getting money out of alts and putting them in BTC to get free coins at forks.

Well, you are probably right as for right now but IOTA's been going down even when other coins were doing okay... It's still #10 in marketcap which is nice, but I think that even that is not fair, because it's more interesting than DASH and litecoin IMO.
8504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Small projects that have room for potential realistic 10x-50x growth on: October 13, 2017, 08:44:27 AM
I love investing in small market cap projects (5-15 million) and have made a ton doing so already by guessing correctly. I put 20 ETH into DNT during their ICO and sold it on the way up at 17x (it maxed at 25x) for close to 331 ETH. I sold my QRL for 15x the ICO price right after it hit exchanges. And now I'm up 5x on Chainlink already...still holding it though.

My question is - what are the next projects with the potential for this kind of growth? I ONLY want to hear about very small cap but otherwise solid projects. I don't care if an ICO is inventing the next wheel - if they're asking for 150 million I don't care to invest in it.
You tell us, for your investments appeared to be extremely successful. After investing in eth and ltc which turned out great, I tries to make short-term investments but as a result lost about 35% of initial investment already. Seeing how fast btc grows I am trying to think that probably the easiest solution is the best one. Maybe we should stop thinking so hard about proper investments in altcoins and simply keep the money in btc.
8505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Moon is coming on: October 13, 2017, 08:31:21 AM
After 3 week of bearing, bitcoin still stands very strong.

Bears could not push down the buyers much lower than 2500$

I think this implies we will hit 3k very soon.

I was bearish till now, now I am bullish till btc'3k$ Smiley

This is a kind of throwback. But it is still very true until today. Bears can only do so much. It cannot totally cause bitcoin's price to fall down at the bottom. In our current situation, bitcoin fell at less than $4,000 but then it rebounds after that and jumped right into the $5,000 figure and broke it successfully, even shooting $5,100 plus.
The price is already $5600! It's crazy how fast everything changes. When I read the op I thought there was some king of a weird mistake of one to await $3k when the price is above $5k and them I saw the date and realized that everything happens really quick on this market. Yet I think that such a change in price is too big and that will do no good in general, because there's always a dump after the pump. Is it all due to the upcoming fork?
8506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid ICO scam on: October 13, 2017, 08:20:54 AM
You will never be 100% sure if an ico is a scam or not. Of course there are indicators, some ico's are just so obvious that it's funny but others look extremely promising but then they suddenly fall of the grid. I don't really mess with ico's, I happily hold the majority of my assets in bitcoin.
I guess the best way to avoid ICO scam is not to invest in ICOs at all  Wink That's the only way to be sure. And it is not really as bad as it sounds. One may still explore the ICOs which seem interesting and invest in them when the coins are released. I think that mostly the prices don't differ much from what they used to be during ico when the coins start to appear on exchanges, whereas the safety obviously grows a lot since you can be sure you'll be able to sell the coins just as you were able to buy them.
8507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Ukraine to regulate exchanges on: October 13, 2017, 08:09:19 AM
I live in Ukraine and I can tell you that, even though everything might seem very cheap for people from developed countries, prices are really high compared to salaries here. Thus, a lot of businessmen don't pay taxes (I mean, they usually pay only the required minimum) and they are not likely to change in the nearest future. Bitcoin is quite used in our country despite the fact that most of people never heard of it. There are about 30 exchanges where one can sell bitcoin for Ukrainian hryvnia. Taxes will reduce the profit in about 20%, so I don't really think the bill will pass.
Moreover, I didn't actually find the same information in Ukrainian but what I did find is that National Bank already stated that cryptocurrencies are not real currencies and in the news about the possible law it is written more about financial pyramids than about exchange regulations. Furthermore, I guess there isn't even a project of this law available yet.
8508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why is IOTA's price still down? on: October 12, 2017, 08:59:44 AM
At first I didn't care about this coin, I thought it's not different much from the top coins and is probably a clone of one of them. However, after Theymos mentioned IOTA as one of really innovative coins, I took a look at it and decided to buy rightaway, because it was something I've never seen before and never even thought of being possible. Blockchainless technology is certainly something mind-blowing in this world. As there are no fees and transactions are necessarily instant, I figured out that it's the only coin that actually solved the problems btc has. My question is as written in the topic subject: why people are not investing in something so different and amazing? Why is the price still going down? Please don't answer that a lot of people already gained crazy profits while investing in it before it was released, because I still don't believe that this coin deserves being worth less than a dollar now.
8509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in cryptocurrencies on: October 12, 2017, 08:48:18 AM
Currently working on a web application that will help cryptocurrency enthusiast with what cryptocurrencies to invest in and how to allocate between each cryptocurrency. But before I get too far ahead of myself and start building something, I wanted to see if other shares the same problems.
As the main problem is the variety of options, I guess it would be nice if your app dealt with that somehow. For instance, maybe there should be a system of rates for currencies (like rates for films) which will show how many people consider it as a good investment. Apart from that, perhaps very small guides about currencies would be appreciated, because there's mostly not enough time to look at dev teams, roadmaps and white papers of all the coins that look promising.
8510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What can you buy with altcoin? on: October 12, 2017, 08:37:29 AM
Since the cryptocurrency market has been expanded tremendously, there are lots of people who have the cryptocurrency.
But, we do not really concern about how we use the cryptocurrency except investing. Do have any experience using cryptocurrency except investing? Please share Smiley
What about mcdonald, Thailand's mcdonald already accepted omg to be the payment. I've experience buy some vps use the crypto currency but looks the crypto still not familiar. A lot of the project still under the development progress. And A lot of my experience to buy everything related to the bitcoin usage.
Yes, in my country there's a big net of Pizza cafes called 'Chelentano' which stated that they'll accept Dash as a payment soon. I also saw recently in the news that one of the universities in Switzerland accepts bitcoin as a payment for studying there. What's more, people can buy some goods in games they play with coins made specifically for that (like Enjin and Burst) but I don't think it counts as real goods bought.
Yet surely mostly currencies are just kept as investment and are not meant to serve as means of payment.
8511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin future on: October 12, 2017, 08:25:28 AM
6 month holding life running with altcoin. I don't get any profit from altcoin. my question is really have any future for altcoin? I just tired with altcoin.please drop your suggestion.
thankss😭
You are talking as if there was only one kind of coin and not hundreds of them! Surely some profit is very possible. I gained 7x profit with ethereum in 3 months or so, for example. Of course, as there're more and more of them, and the most famous ones are getting very expensive, it is now rather hard to make such big profits, but something like 2x seems very possible to me. Let's take a look at facts about coins' prices to prove my point:
Nem was worth 0.000013btc in April and is now, after 6 months, worth 0.000042btc, so for one investing in it half a year ago the profit would be more than 3x.
Monero was worth 0.017btc in April and was worth 0.032 in the end of August, so almost 2x profit was possible.
Finally, list was worth 0.0002 in April and is now 0.001, providing 5x profit for investors. Thus, the main problem is to find the right coins but they surely do exist.
8512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1 Waves to create your own tokens....is it worth it? on: October 12, 2017, 08:11:27 AM
LOL, yes it really is that simple, but what makes you think people will trade your token.  To trade you need someone to buy, so why would anyone buy your token?  Figure out a reason why someone would buy your token and then it really is that easy.  I created my own token just to experiment and it takes about 15-seconds.  You want to buy them, there's a hundred of them and I'll sell you all of them for one bitcoin.
Good point about providing a reason for people to trade the token! I've never created a token on waves, because I had no need in it, but I've watched a video of creation of it on youtube and it truly is easy. The problem is that even though waves is a platform for tokens, I believe people still mostly create their own currencies rather than tokens, so that they are more independent or something like that. Making tokens creation easy was a good option provided by Waves but it's hard to say whether there's any use from that at all.
8513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy Eth and Waves on: October 11, 2017, 07:49:20 PM
I have 800 waves. Im thinking buy some eth and 200 waves with 0.6 btc. What do you think? buy or wait to fork. I have more btc in other accounts.
Too late to thinking about buy ethereum because the price already jumped back over $300 for each ethereum. You should not be missed the best chance to buy the more ethereum if that gets big dump or red candle.
As you can see the ethereum will be more profitable rather than the waves project. You must remember it everytime.
Who knows, maybe ethereum can do a lot more than $300. Just remember the times when btc was worth some $600 and most of people thought it's too late to invest in it, because it's too expensive, right? Now it's worth almost $5k and people mostly say that it's still good time to buy and make profit! As for waves, I believe long-term the price can grow a lot and bring good profit but not in the nearest future. It's not strong enough to grow all of a sudden.
8514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: how much will NEO worth end of 2017 on: October 11, 2017, 07:38:25 PM
Predicting coins and especially NEO (nobody was expecting the Chinese ban and price going down so much) is rather hard. However, I believe $60 is a rational assumption in case everything goes smoothly (without huge obstacles like big bans). Neo is a good platform and the development is quite active which is always rather important. It can be seen on the official website that this year they released a blockchain browser and smart contract asset. Maybe they should do something else by the end of the year to keep up with the former rhythm of development though.
8515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should you sell altcoins before the fork? on: October 11, 2017, 07:27:18 PM
I took the question to mean should they sell altcoins and put in in Bitcoin before the fork.

If that's the question, then I'm wondering the same thing. Seems like Bitcoin Cash was free money if you had any Bitcoin sitting around.

I plan on keeping the alts I really believe in  (DeepOnion) but selling some I keep floating around and loading up on Bitcoin before the fork. I have some XRP I have that I'll probably flip into Btc and then back to XRP after the fork. Just my two cents.
Before selling alts it's important to determine whether free coins will be granted in the upcoming forks, I believe. You are saying bitcoin cash was a free money at the time after segwit but I though people got to choose between spending their btc as btc or as bitcoin cash, so it's not like they could have both, right? Thus, as our btc is still #1 and is not likely to be beaten by forks, I guess there's not much use in putting money into bitcoin before the fork specifically.
8516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Vitalik Buterin's health declining? on: October 11, 2017, 07:17:33 PM
That is very obvious from the pictures even myself they I have not known him before the recent controversy concerning ETH knows from the picture that he is not feeling too well its so unfortunate that the brightest mind are the ones that get to witness failing health and hoping he will recover because ETH to me is a legacy that would stay even beyond majority that saw its emergence in this crypto world.
Well, he is rather smart, sure, but it doesn't mean he can maintain the support of ethereum and keep it being competitive. All in all, he's still a very young man who's probably more into enjoying life than working. As for his health, there's nothing on the Internet about it, so I guess it's just the way he looks and probably drugs. Anyway, eth is doing rather fine, so I guess we shouldn't worry on this matter now.
8517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Two forks I would like to see: Bitcoin Extended and Bitcoin Drive on: October 11, 2017, 06:21:25 PM
Well, as we have already broken the taboo and are about to fork to hundreds or thousands of "Bitcoin-based" altcoin chains (like Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Cash ...) then we could create some really useful fork-coins.

Two proposals:

- Bitcoin Extended: Bitcoin with Extension blocks (see here for a short description). Extension blocks are a "second layer" technique that enables additional blocks to be created that form a kind of sidechain. They allow to drastically expand the capacity of the blockchain, and not all nodes will have to process all blocks.
- Bitcoin Drive: Bitcoin with the ability to create Drivechains (see here for the proposal). Proposed first by Paul Sztorc, Drivechains are sidechains that are merge-mined and pegged to Bitcoin, and they are validated by the miners themselves. This proposal needs a new opcode that is unlikely to be included into Bitcoin Core.

We could also unite both proposals. My suggestion for a name would be Bitcoin 2L (Bitcoin for Second Layers), because extension blocks and drivechains are very promising second-layer technologies. Lightning Network and offchain techniques would be also possible with it.

Anybody liking to create it? For both technologies, AFAIK there is code available, so no extreme programming skills would be needed.
Gosh, we already have 2 upcoming forks of bitcoin in the nearest future! I think this multiplication of btc versions will not do any good. Why this all started after btc segwit implementation, by the way? Is there some strict connection between it and other forks being provoked?
As for the forks you are talking about, I believed bitcoin cash did the extension of blocks rather nicely and thus Bitcoin Extended doesn't sound like a plan to me, whereas I don't understand what they are really needed for, even though I read about their benefits on drivechain.info.
8518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: where to invest 5k today? on: October 10, 2017, 06:57:56 PM
Having 5k is better than having coins that worth 5k now. Market is in big bubble and I think it will burst soon. I analyzed charts of market and some coins and came to this conclusion.
I would disagree with that. Even if once the market explodes due to false price and expectations for the better future, it is not likely to happen soon, for lots of people are only getting to know about cryptocurrencies and some know none except of bitcoin. I believe that nowadays bitcoin would be the best investment. You can simply buy 1 btc when the price does down a bit and buy some coins you feel like buying for another couple of hundreds of dollars. I am almost sure btc will bring one good profit in a year from now.
8519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WAVES/BTC - Seem Breaking Soon, BUY now for GOOD profits on: October 10, 2017, 06:50:46 PM
Waves has been in a bad situation lately and, as now all the attention is driven to bitcoin with its upcoming forks, I believe now is not the time this coin has chances to grow in price. I can see they are getting new protocol activated which is called Waves NG that will allow transactions to proceed a lot faster (didn't know waves had problems with transaction speed though) but I think the team is not active enough to make a difference anyway.
8520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS vs. Ethereum on: October 10, 2017, 06:32:47 PM
EOS is just a token but they are planning to make their own blockchain. Its little weird that they born inside of ethereum network and want to be a competitor to ethereum.
i don't think eos will be a huge network like ethereum.
Well, then the question of competition will come later when eos is a separate platform (still don't get how's that possible). For now it's a part of the system clearly. For know the price has been falling down. The website looks nice and they also have limited no fees offers but eth's transactions are low anyway and I believe this token is just not innovative enough to be even considered seriously for now.
