8541  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 02, 2020, 08:17:46 AM
Seems someone's getting desperate to justify his shitcoin collection

I think that those coins always attracted the ones with more greed than common sense.

I'm still not worried about Bitcoin price.
Up and down and up and down, remember?
8542  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Possible Malfunctioning of Bitpay App on: September 02, 2020, 08:11:01 AM
So now I opened up the Bitpay Mobile App
[snip]
Bitpay website

1. The "Electrum wallet" part looks unrelated to the whole story and may only confuse people.
2. Since you use the services of BitPay (a commercial company more related to BCash than Bitcoin), did you actually try to reach first their customer support? They should know much better how their services go.
8543  Economy / Reputation / Re: What can I do to remove a neg tag? on: September 01, 2020, 04:34:26 PM
Reason- None, I have accused him associated with a scam

Some users do retaliatory negative feedback, just because they can. And unless he removes it... you'll have it there.
But don't worry and clearly get used to this. Since it's not a DT, his feedback means almost nothing and the chance you'll meet in the future other individuals of this kind is not too small.
Just look at my feedback, the (im)famous game-protect was among the ones painted it. He did this to a very big number of users and.. we still have that. (And it's not the only example.)
8544  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to find Fake Giveaways or scam airdrops on Twitter? on: September 01, 2020, 10:46:16 AM
Unless the owner of the account is a known person and the account is really his (with the blue check mark) there's a very big chance the giveaway is fake.
It's a quite known method for a few days/months old accounts to artificially boost the number of followers, since most don't bother to unfollow and report.
8545  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 01, 2020, 07:10:15 AM
Good morning WO, September seems to have a good start!

8546  Economy / Services / Re: Luckybit Twitter campaign round 2 on: August 31, 2020, 07:24:38 PM
Yes you are correct about needing to wager 1x in order to be able to wd. Not really hard to do though.

Indeed, the 1x wager is not hard to achieve. This way the ones playing in other places actually get to see luckybit  Cheesy
Also I see that for withdraw "Minimum amount is 0.002 ₿"... But maybe the campaign will run for a 4th week too... (one can hope for that).
8547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: August 31, 2020, 06:28:22 PM
I understand that the token is still in his coinbase ETH deposit address but he makes a statement that "I thought that maybe one day when they list GOLD token on Coinbase Pro, I'll get them back, but this isn't true because I've read on Reddit that even after listings people didn't get those mistakenly send balances back. "

As @wwzsocki posted, there's a better chance the daily fees will completely eat up those funds than Coinbase Pro move a finger to help out one of their customers...

Quite sad and hopefully (sooner or later) people will start looking more carefully for businesses with this kind of behavior and avoid them. The ecosystem has grown and there are other options too nowadays...
8548  Economy / Economics / Re: The pros and cons of going cashless on: August 28, 2020, 09:54:43 PM
Cash will survive. Elderly people still don't trust and don't use cards in my country. There are plenty of remote areas where internet doesn't work well so the only way to pay is with cash. And in same areas sometimes the power goes down for days.

Of course cashless is easy, you don't have to carry the cash with you and you always know where you spent your money. And in most cases it's insured too. But again, if you want to add a tip you may need cash again.

And adding crypto into the equation.. may work in the big cities, but the rest of the world may need one more change of generations...
8549  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some common unnoticed errors most newbies and some users make on: August 27, 2020, 09:17:36 PM
(I've read some 75% of the post and I think that this is missing)

I think that OP should also add as mistake: Posting information from other sources without stating the source (hence plagiarising)

I think that in the rush for merits some newbies fall for this.
8550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to Bitcoin in the long term? on: August 27, 2020, 08:13:56 PM
1. The miners also earn from transaction fees and that can also get pretty big. Last block came with 1.5 BTC also in fees. https://sochain.com/block/BTC/645584
2. The miners unhappy with their earnings can stop and this will make the difficulty (and mining cost) drop for the remaining miners.

This together with the rising price of bitcoin should hopefully get to good "middle point" where everyone will be happy.
There's still a lot of time until then.

I also believe that a business with so many scam accusations should not be advertised on the forum. But maybe it's a mistake of @theymos....
8552  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid 19 shows how weak People are in the it mind on: August 27, 2020, 07:50:42 PM
Not everyone here is from the same country and most don't give out free money.
Many struggle to feed their families, they don't have a chance to make use of this kind of opportunities.
Actually only those who had good income before this situation and they still have it can see this as opportunity. Quite a small subset of world population.
It's obvious that OP didn't think this far and unfortunately complaining even more won't help at all.

I'm sure that many of the ones who could have been using this opportunity didn't, or could have done it better, but many did use it. That's how the world is: some see the opportunity when it comes, some miss it, some don't stand a chance.
8553  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Google Opens The Door To Mass Cryptocurrency Adoption on: August 26, 2020, 06:39:27 AM
They just want to earn their share of fees.
And, since all this has KYC involved, I expect them make a big database of bitcoiners, including their names, KYC info and as many bitcoin addresses as possible, linked to the already existing data they have from browser, search engine, maps and so on.
8554  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Probably a stupid question. on: August 25, 2020, 10:13:29 AM
In fiat I can't check the previous owners of the money. As far as I know, with bitcoin, one can trace the path of transactions to the time they were mined. I thought that if bitcoins were used for criminal acts and then sold to someone like me, they could get to me in a possible investigation. Everyone says that bitcoins are only used to scam people.
In addition, we must provide personal information in each exchange.
Which brings me to the next question. How can I sell bitcoin without exchange? There is such a big risk that I will not get my money back.
There is so much negative news about bitcoin on the Internet that I'm sure most are a lie, but it's hard to sift through the truth.

Tracking is possible indeed, but limited. I mean, yes, you can see all the transactions, but it's hard to tell if a wallet belongs to criminals or not. And bitcoin can be mixed.
Exchanges... not all of them need KYC documents. Of course, if you buy from an exchange where you did provide KYC, you can always blame them if anybody asks for the source of coins. But as I said, the chance of such questions is thin.

There are plenty of ways to sell without exchanges. From meeting person to person (not advisable) to ATM or DEX or selling on the forum, ... just choose the way. But this kind of sales bring risks if you are not careful: you need trusted escrow and means of payment that cannot be reversed, or if you get the money into your bank account that may be from really shady sources and then questions will be asked.

Many agree that we should not give out this easy the KYC documents. So for selling bitcoin there are 2 ways I see - with KYC (exchanges, bitcoin cards) or without KYC (smaller amounts at ATMs).
8555  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Fake Electrum version 4.0 and hardware wallets on: August 25, 2020, 07:43:37 AM
the change address is not verified by some hardware wallets so you could still lose money. ledger doesn't verify it for example.

Maybe I'm wrong since I cannot check now, but why doesn't Electrum "report" then the change address like another output in pay to many?
Electrum knows the user has Ledger and can easily handle that.
8556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin maximalists are doing more harm to the crypto space than good ? on: August 25, 2020, 05:54:40 AM
For every bitcoin maximalist there was already a scam shitcoin or ICO. And more schemes will rise.
Blaming only the maximalists means ignoring half of the reality.
I don't say altcoins are bad, but how many are actually good?
8557  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it possible that the 1% group want to kill us intentionally with covid ? on: August 25, 2020, 05:48:38 AM
Actually humans are cheaper on long term than robots. Look at the 3rd world countries.
And the virus did hit bad those countries.
So no, this theory doesn't stand.
8558  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Probably a stupid question. on: August 24, 2020, 10:04:10 PM
Almost like with cash, you don't really know.
There are companies (very few) that can do the tracking (between some limits) but you probably won't use them.
Some of the exchanges do shallow check and may lock certain inputs or deposits.
But no, you don't know the coins are really clean.

If you really want clean coins there are miners that offer fresh coins, but they cost more. Again, it's not a much used service.

All in all, the chance you know the history of your coins is small, but nobody cares much. Did you ever cared how dirty your cash is?!
8559  Economy / Economics / Re: Second COVID-19 wave is coming...Infinite loop? on: August 24, 2020, 07:05:51 AM
The question was also whether we will get an infinite loop (not that we are already in an infinite loop), which is similar to the annual flu. The flu comes every year to cold season in a slightly different variant, so that every year the vaccination pot has to be adjusted. The same could happen with Covid-19, so that the virus becomes part of our permanent life. Or will it be (largely) eradicated at some point, like the plague.

OK. I don't see flu as something in loops. It's here and when the weather conditions help, it becomes stronger.
Indeed, sars-cov-2 has a chance to become like flu, but how big that chance is .. that's hard to assess now, this is something to be discussed after the vaccination will start. And then we'll see how effective the vaccines are, how big will be the part of population that'll take the vaccine and what happens in the following "season" after vaccination. If that'll be ineffective in a year, then probably we'll have the same story as with flu.
8560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stable coins for bounty hunters on: August 24, 2020, 07:00:02 AM
but what he is trying to suggest is that, Bounty hunters provide services to these projects and it will be better for bounty hunters if they are paid in a stable coin.

And I am telling that as long as there are plenty of bounty hunters careless enough to accept current conditions, nobody will change anything, because it shifts the risk from bounty hunters to project owners.
