8582  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin on autopilot mode on: December 18, 2016, 05:48:35 PM
I guess that being optimistic is something good but you should be realistic as well, bitcoin is definitely huge compared to the other altcoins but the competition is always there and most of the good projects are taking sometime until they get fully developed and released for public , I already said that in different topics and I will repeat it...  If bitcoin stops at this point and don't get developed and getting some solution with the current problems , It will definitely fail.
8583  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: December 18, 2016, 04:55:59 PM
Anyone here have an idea about when we should expect the massive upgrade ? It's being sometime since they started talking about (almost a year now) it and there is no news yet ? https://vimeo.com/163878728
8584  Economy / Services / Re: Envato items on: December 18, 2016, 04:01:04 PM
Thanks for showing that thread, while I was searching today I found another one here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1711379.0;topicseen so I will contact both of them and see what can they offer to me since without updates is sometimes useless.

Just be careful , I have my doubts about these threads that are popping up lately about offering Envato items for cheap , there is either an exploit in the website or SEing involved for sure.
8585  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: IOS electrum project still a go or cancelled on: December 18, 2016, 03:24:25 PM
Anyone have status on the iOS version of electrum

was so looking forward to this...

A few months ago , ThomasV (creator of Electrum) said that they are still working on it so I doubt It's cancelled : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1655639.0 . Electrum is with no doubt one of the best (If not "the" best) wallets when It comes to PC but for phone , I'm not really a fan.
8586  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Strong brain wallet, step-by-step guide. on: December 18, 2016, 03:03:12 PM
I believe that your birth date , your name or your phone number are the first things that a hacker would try to use before trying to crack/brute anything so I don't really see how this could be more secure then anything else , using a random password in the other hand or something that make no sense to you may be very hard to remember over the years and you could finish by losing your coins.
8587  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Escrows - Trade Safely! on: December 18, 2016, 02:49:37 PM
Which member offer best escrow service, here on this forum?

There are plenty of trusted members (I'd recommend OgNasty , devthedev ....) around here and don't hear those who say that you shouldn't use an escrow because he could scam you . We understand that some of trusted escrows as Master-p betrayed our trust but that doesn't make the other members not trustworthy.
8588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin should some good commercial ads to promote! on: December 17, 2016, 06:38:51 PM
Who is this "someone" that would agree on spending money to simply spread bitcoin ? There are commercial ads related to bitcoin but they are most of the time related to a specific bitcoin service like Blockchain.info ad : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_W-7hd4T2I but once again , It promotes the service instead of bitcoin as a currency.
If you ask me , advertising is kinda something hard to do when the project is decentralized/P2P (OpenBazaar , BitSquare are projects that are having this issue too)
8589  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: December 17, 2016, 06:18:00 PM
today not work,service unvailable,why?
load card and transfer bitcoin its impossible,my money are locked!
this is not professional... with xapo and advcash i have not never problems!
I hope it is not a exit scam!

SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Btc Transfer is failed and bitcoin disappeared from my e-coin account
i lost $ 1,000

The issue usually have nothing to do with the service Itself but instead related to the banks and there is nothing they could about it. Banks are unlikely to exit scam , at least , not without leaving a trace like BTC services.
If you are facing this issue using the web app then I suggest using the Mobile app , It sometimes works otherwise It's coming from the banks , all you could do is contact the support team and wait for their reply.

8591  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC at $1,000 by Christmas? on: December 17, 2016, 05:09:17 PM
Based on the current markets, very unlikely and to be honest I do not wish that fast acceleration at this point. I hope to see the price climbing up slowly slowly as long as possible. When the growth starts to accelerate, we know what is going to happen.

At this point , the only thing that I see achievable is 800$ or 850$ at max by Christmas . I mean It could happen If something triggers it otherwise It should stay as it it or increase a little bit.
As you said too , If it increase too much and too fast then It will go to the ground faster and we don't want to see that , there is nothing better then an increase with stability.
8592  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Overview] The one thread to link them all on: December 17, 2016, 04:31:19 PM
I know there is already an overview thread about the hardware wallets but I made a new topic lately as the first one is not being updated anymore and OP is not connecting either , I'm trying to include more information's and more wallets with time (I sometimes need to contact the wallets providers to have some information's like the numbers of units sold etc...) , and reviews will be added as well : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1710607.0;topicseen

8594  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: any Paypal to btc service? on: December 16, 2016, 11:51:05 AM
Not sure if this question has been asked here before. I would like to know if there is an online service selling bitcoin for Paypal? so far I have found only xcoins.io and I don't really know if they are a reputable service. I did a search here for xcoins and found nothing so I dont know what to make of that. I would really appreciate if someone could suggest some services that can be used for buying bitcoins with Paypal.

There is Virwox.com , It's a very known and reputable service and exists for years , It accepts PayPal and Skrill and other payment methods that other exchanges don't accept. Only issue is that they are limits to buy and your level account gets increased with time , another thing are the fees which are a little bit high. If you have no issues about those two things then you should go for it.
8595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Anhui Bitcoin Mining Farm Seized By Chinese Police For Stealing Electricity on: December 16, 2016, 11:09:42 AM
The Chinese law enforcement cracked down on a Bitcoin mining farm in Bengbu, Anhui province, for illegally allocating a local electric power company's energy source for Bitcoin mining operations. The local police of Bengbu seized ASIC miners and other equipment used to mine the digital currency.

Xin’an Evening, a local news publication in China, revealed earlier this month that a family in the Anhui province used home energy sources provided by a local electricity service provider to mine Bitcoin.

The digital currency which the family obtained was used to finance the family’s expenditures. The news publication further noted that the family made enough money through its mining farm to finance up to 8 years of their future expenditure.

8596  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Whispe.rs - Send Text Messages Anonymously Using Bitcoin! [Dev Side Project] on: December 16, 2016, 10:33:39 AM
Design looks pretty clean and simple and I like that however If we speak about the pricing then It's definitely overpriced If we compare it to the SIM providers we are using In real life , I also like that you are accepting bitcoin as a payment method but In the same time , I dislike the fact that you are asking the users to type their emails , payment info should be available on the public without the need of even making an account.
8597  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E under DDOS attack on: December 16, 2016, 09:25:27 AM
Thank you for this warning. Nothing is safe nowdays, DDOS attacks, hackers and malwares have become usual part of everyday living. Is there any secure way to protect ourselves form this? Are service providers doing enough in their measures for security of their users and their servieces? The very bad thing is also that some of this attacks are actualy sponsored of certain governements like is that often case with russian hackers who have their special aimes.

Protecting ourselves couldn't be easier . We simply shouldn't trust centralized exchange or in other words , exchanges that doesn't give us control over our private keys , I'm not saying that exchanges shouldn't be used but people shouldn't store their coins for long term there , once you trade , withdraw your funds. Poloniex is the most secure If you ask me as they are storing their funds in cold storage means no hacker will have access to them and If the website gets hacked the losses are going to be limited.
8598  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Simple Web Wallet API on: December 16, 2016, 07:29:44 AM
I guess you should use Blocktrail.com API as It's probably the best (from what I heard) and It also have examples written in Python , NodeJS & PHP too : https://www.blocktrail.com/api/docs (the limits are better then blockchain's one too)
8599  Economy / Exchanges / BTC-E under DDOS attack on: December 16, 2016, 07:00:45 AM
It's backup online now but I just wanted to let you know In case you didn't notice , I wouldn't keep my funds there If I were you even though It was just a DDOS attack , this could be a warning and more may come (such as hacking).
8600  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Attitude towards BCT automation? on: December 15, 2016, 07:04:29 PM
Instead of wasting your time with the current unofficial API , I guess It would be better If you work with the new forum software API : http://epochtalk.org/api.html , that could save you a lot of work since we may switch to the new forum soon.

Will we switch to a new forum software? That is new for me. In this case, I really should look forward. Thank you for the information! Still, I think the old API will be helpful since maybe I can adapt its features to the new forum software with some modding. That depends on how the creators of the original API wrote it, though.

Yes we will and as you can see on the news section above :

Quote
To be able to use the next phase of the beta forum software, please ensure that your email address is correct/functional.

The API I gave you will be something official and the "epochtalk" is a new forum software that is made by developers paid by theymos , everything is open source and you could see the Github repo : https://github.com/epochtalk/epochtalk/
