I doubt he'll try to scam us, if you look at his replies in this thread and emails everything has been done to the best of his ability and quite professionally so I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the reason we're not getting any update is because he's flat out organising and shipping miners for those who accepted them.

The last update from steamboat via email was only 11 days ago but for those who are wondering:

"Many of you are still waiting for information regarding the assembly refund process. We understand the wait is aggravating, and appreciate your patience in this matter. Our resources are finite, and the work load for this project has increased substantially due to reasons outside our control. We will be publishing more information when we are able, and can assure you the solution will be as fair as possible. You will not be punished for our lack of timely response in this matter."

+1  Steamboat has done everything in his power to manage his time wisely, in my opinion.  This is a large and intense process--he's done the best I would ever expect someone to do given the issues we had in the supply chain.

Are we still getting the miners delivered before 2014?

Mine is setting on my desk as we speak....
863  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: November 08, 2013, 03:22:18 AM
I'm not a windows user anymore but it looks like you need to install the winusb driver, I'd mine from linux personally since its more secure and has better uptime stability

Found it and it's running well now.
~4.5 Gh/s average (over 5 minutes) @ 300MHz. Will be tweaking it later tonight.

What is this winusb driver that will actually run the K16 ? Is there a link for it? I wasn't aware that the K16 would run on windows...

Thank you in advance.

From everything I've read, you'll need to compile cgminer on windows with the --enable-klondike switch.  There are a number of steps you'll need to do to complete this process.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

That said, linux will probably be more stable, and if you're already this far down the rabbit hole, you might as well learn it!

Cheers.

It's crazy actually holding this thing in my hand, after all the work SB put into it.  It's extremely well made, and the packaging was flawless.  Thank you guys so much, I know you all went out of your way to make this happen.

Now to go plug it in....
865  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: November 04, 2013, 10:36:06 PM
BTC payments were instantly converted to dollars by BitPay so SB could pay suppliers in dollars.

I can almost guarantee refunds are going to be processed in dollars, then converted to BTC (with unfavorable results for us). The exchange rate was miserably low when I paid, because like others I was trying to meet the deadline SB had laid out. And I'll likely be punished for that...

That will almost certainly cause a shitstorm. He's already talking about keeping 75% of our assembly costs. Throw in a screw job on the exchange rate, and my assembly funds would be just plain gone.

Hell, do enough voodoo with the exchange rate, and we could all end up owing SB money! ROFL!

This just keeps on getting better and better, eh?

It's _almost_ like this was a high risk investment--I sure wish someone told me that before I consciously sent a stranger on the Internet money!  Oh well, maybe I'll learn my lesson one day, and take the wins with the losses....

[edit; grammar is hard]

Not unlike someone like Steve Jobs minus the management skills.
Comparison fail.
Steve Jobs is neither an engineer or a "genius".
Can't say his management skills were good either. At least not for the people who had to endure him.

Steve Jobs' actual talent is his Reality Distortion Field.

lolololololol.

You're obviously the smartest person we've all met--do you have a newsletter we could join?

I sent my request to ship my order on Saturday evening, CST and received my tracking number promptly this morning.  Thanks for your dedication and effort, Steamboat!

Can we stop mining PXC because autosell never works on cryptsy and it's not worth my time to sell digits of pxc for 500 satoshis each.

I've actually been considering dumping it recently.  It's a scamcoin to begin with, and the recent ordeal with PhenixEx makes me think that it really shouldn't be around anymore.

Kill it.
869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: October 28, 2013, 02:23:24 PM
Really there is no point for us to be "solo" mine btc on this small pool vs something like BTC Guild/etc that solves blocks in minutes.  Not weeks.
Sorry not trying to be rude or anything, just a fact this new 391 million diff just made it even harder to find a block, mining btc requires a huge amount of hashing power, something
that is seriously lacking here.

So please lets get back to mine the most profitable "alt" coin.

No, we're not retreating into alts.  We are a Bitcoin pool now.  The challenge is to grow our hashrate.  There is loads of ASIC hashpower coming online now, and I know that some of those people will want to maximize their profits.  We just need to let them know we are out here.

How about doing some promotion in "Bitcoin Forum > Bitcoin > Mining > Pools" forum to drum up some business. I'm think many Bitcoin miners don't know you are here hidden in "Alternate cryptocurrencies"

This, and the fact that there is absolutely nothing to do with your litecoins (except sell them for bitcoins as you watch their value slowly but surely continue to tumble downwards).

There's a number of places to spend LTC.  Do you even Google, bro?

i just bought 1 btc worth for testing, the ghs is now in my account.  Do i need to do anything for it to mine or that starts automatically?  how soon usually will i see the first payment? thanks
It starts mining automatically and will deposit to your account automatically.  Wait an hour or so to see it all level out.

So once again, please come in for a test drive, remember that there is few things not enabled (for obvious reasons) and that securities and some data is random generated. And remember we are launching live on 21st of October.

Neil

I'll add this to the WuTC directory once it goes live, Neil.  Cheers.

Anyone else thinking mining is becoming pointless?  Especially with the rise in BTC value?  Most alt coins have plummeted. I normally cash in my alt coins but had .27 BTC worth of alt coins in Cryptsy last night. Today after a night mining worth now worth .16. I'm loosing money while I mine and don't even pay for electricity for it.

Alt-coins are definitely taking a hit, but I think it's too early to call this.  In my most humble opinion, it's a great time to get into a few alts, which is what I've done this morning.
874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Free 250x250 banner space on WuLTC for LTC merchants. on: October 18, 2013, 10:07:40 PM
Hey people,

I've been working on adding additional features to the WuLTC directory and would like to start providing free banner space for developers, merchants and service providers.  If you fall into this category, shoot me an email or PM and I'll add your banner to the rotation.  This is a no strings attached deal, we're not looking for reciprocals or payment of any sort--just doing our part for the community and showing a little love to the people that make LTC go.

Feel free to drop me a line with any questions.  I reserve the right to bounce any creative that makes my eyes bleed or uses the blink tag!
875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the loss of confidence in litecoin? on: October 18, 2013, 09:18:48 PM
If you trade Alts all day...
And keep an eye on the Chat Box, Whales, and Pumpers...
You get the best information on what's moving coins.

I hate to call you out, but the "Chat Box, Whales and Pumpers" _are_ what moves the coins on an exchange on any given day.  Same as any non-news day on the stock exchange.

LTC has a solid technical difference from BTC, and it has the second largest support infrastructure.  What would cause that, realistically, to change?  Alt-coins, with few exceptions, are clones of BTC or LTC.  Most merchants accept BTC and LTC now, I can't see them wanting to accept 50 different types, even if a payment gateway automates the process.

I'm not dissuaded by troll boxes because I spend my spare time watching what type of actual support is building from merchants and services.  These aspects of any crypto-coin are tenfold more important than the movement of exchanges, and will ultimately reveal what coins become mainstream.  So many of these coins were created to trade, or for fun or as a proof of concept.  I'm all for that, but LTC has services, merchants and uses outside the exchanges--unlike almost any other coin in my portfolio.
876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the loss of confidence in litecoin? on: October 18, 2013, 09:07:20 PM
Where are the best places to purchase or otherwise obtain litecoin?

I like RS' new MCXnow exchange, but there are a number to choose from.  I list the main exchanges on http://weuselitecoins.com/trading/.

The development team for LTC does seem to be active, they are putting together a foundation, and have an actual roadmap.  Who knows how it will all pan out?  LTC has just as good of a chance as any other the others, and the second largest network of miners, merchants and developers.

Nice, but it is bad that there is no way to recover a missing password automatically

It's so much easier if you just don't forget it in the first place. Manual resets are more secure, but more work for me.
